CHERYL - I was hoping Doug would go home right after Geraldo, but now I see him in a whole different light. If he has CTE, he is just as "disabled" as Nyle, only in a different way. Nyle has learned how to adapt beautifully. With CTE, it's cumulative and progressive, and there isn't much adapting you can do.

I actually feel sorry for Doug. It must be so frustrating.... Sad

Blessings I so agree, it must be so frustrating, how many football players had CTE and didn't know it, I look at him differently too, I always liked him as a person and now I understand I wonder if he's had any kind of testing done, and 22 years is a long time for his body to have taken all that abuse.

I just found out today that Paige VanZant was a dancer growing up and entered competitions. This was before she became a fighter. Oh, it changes how I feel about her. I thought she came in as a fighter only who "just happened" to have this hidden dance talent. But it explains how she has so much confidence on the dance floor. I just don't like being sort of hoodwinked like that

Here's a link to one article about it:

Loved the opening act, Puttin on the Ritz. The show is such a treasure trove of creativity!

Kim looked gorgeous, love the song from Hairspray; her dancing lacked pizzazz.

I liked Von as MIchael Jackson, it's the first time I noticed the big height difference between him and Witney.

Jodi-I don't know Pink's video but thought Jodie's performance was pretty cool.

Paige, great, but see my above post about her.

Nyle, I thought he was amazing.

    Ginger-my favorite of her dances.

Doug's best dance, but so simple, I think even I could have done it. Lol

Wanya-excellent. He's my favorite and I love Lindsay, she's such a sharp dancer.

I loved the heart-to-heart talk Antonio had with Sharna and he had a good point about being loyal to their team. And great dance.

I know that Jodi has had dance training, and anyone in the music business has a dance and choreography background too, so that doesn't really bother me. Loved the songs tonight.

*I missed Kim's dance. I will have to catch it later.

    * Von, I wasn't crazy about him doing Micheal Jackson.....didn't seem to fit him somehow.

    * Jodi-I thought she did a great job. You could tell how much this experience means to her, which is very cool.

    * Paige-what a cute routine. For a change, Mark's zany ideas & costumes really worked! That was my favorite routine of the night.

    * Nyle-didn't like that he was so cocky. Out of character (or what we know of it!). I thought the dance was good, don't know how you can dance that fast when you can't hear the music!

    * Ginger- Divine, we have a different opinion on this one, I didn't really like the style.....didn't really seem like much dancing to me,

    * Doug......seemed more relaxed & like it was maybe a little fun instead of such hard work.

    *Wayna-yes!!! Very good.

    * Antonio- seems like he is ready to work. I really liked the dance, and I am giving his hair a 10........it looks very nice without the sewer cap!

    Liked Kim
Jodie, okay she tried hard and that Pink routine is hard as Pink is an amazing aerialist
    Really liked Ginger and Antonio
    and my favourite was Wanya.

KIM – No matter what, she is always upbeat, even with stress
fractures in her ankles…. And never even mentioned it! What was interesting was
how Keo walked out after low scores last week and sat outside and pouted,
having had to dance with Kim instead of Jodie. Or maybe he felt sorry for Kim,
    who knows.

VON – Tonight I realized why I never wanted to watch him
dance: he has no personality! Or at least he didn’t, until he got to play
Michael Jackson. Kind of redeemed himself.

JODIE – Soooo dramatic. Every little bump and bruise gets a
full screaming fit and tears. I thought she broke her leg in that fall, turns
out she got a tiny little ankle wrap. HOWEVER, I was dumbfounded when I saw
they were going to do Pink’s dance. Have you seen it? Extremely physical, and
Pink herself is in amazing shape. She even does high acrobatics while she sings.
So for me, Jodie’s interpretation was like some heavy metal band song done on
the ukulele. Nice but bland. PINK’S VIDEO:
    https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+video+pink+try+vma+music+awards&view=detail&mid=F59FAD318A2B8EE05BA1F59FAD318A2B8EE05BA1&FORM=VIRE

    PAIGE – I hadn’t heard about her being a dancer before DWTS…
but that’s turning out to be true of a lot of the “stars”… I never saw “Austin
Powers” – thought it was a dorky movie. Hey, did anyone else hear Mark’s “accent”
when he was talking about Paige in the rehearsal?

NYLE – urgh…. Don’t like Jim Carrey, didn’t see The Mask,
hated the getup. I also think he got in trouble when he said that Val (not
some other lowly contestant) was his biggest competition. Obviously, the judges
    didn’t like his bragging.

GINGER – Hated the “I’m so tired/busy/overwhelmed” whine in
the video. If motherhood, coast-to-coast travel, a tight rehearsal schedule,
and a gazillion dollar contract with the network are too much for you to handle,
then quit. Her Janet Jackson performance was a nice change, but bland. She just doesn’t
have the aggressive attitude, or snappy moves for Paula Abdul choreography.

DOUG – I thought Bollywood was his best dance yet! The moves
were complicated, but most of the time, he had to act on his own. The only time he faltered was
when he had to meet up with Karina, then the uncertainty took over. But I
thought the rest was great, and that they all should have worn authentic
    clothing.

WANYE – Um, isn’t this exactly what he does in Boyz2Men? Of
course he’d be good at it. Duh.

ANTONIO – Oh, boo hoo!!!! “Sharna said Wanye would win!”  “She’s not being a team player!” WAAAAA! What
a suckytit. What would YOUR team do if you showed up to practice an hour late
and disrespected the process by hotdogging the entire time? If you want to be seen as a winner, then start
acting like one. Nice haircut, by the way. But he did not deserve the judges
fawning all over him and massaging his big ego. All those missteps in his routine did NOT add
    up to all 9s.

Oh, gee, tell us what you REALLY think! Loopy

They say washed-up stars try DWTS to try to revive their career, so maybe Jodie's histrionics were an attempt to show any producers watching that she had the good for dramatic acting. As for Ginger, I said prior to the start of the season it'd bore me to tears to hear her complain about her busy schedule...she'd just had a baby, she couldn't figure what kind of time crunch the extra gig would put on her life?

I noticed that Sharna didn't ever sort of humble herself with Antonio and say "I'm sorry" or "you're so right, I was wrong." I think that spells disaster, even tho they say it's all water over the dam.

Without Derek to compete against, it feels like the dances are still lacking that wow factor.

    Great show tonight.

Erin's hair, blah. Jodie, okay. Kim, adorable dance to Michael Jacksons song.

Nyle-amazing. Loved the song, "Beautiful Day" , thedance and Peta looked gorgeous in that soft pink dress.

Loved the drama of Antonio's dance and Sharna's striking red curls among the black backdrop of the whole routine.

Wanya, very suave dance. Lindsay, gorgeous blue dress. I agree with Carrie Ann, tho, he needs to bring the A game.

Ginger,a spectacular performance, her best, and another absolutely lovely dress. Well deserved scores.

Nice Elvis routine by Von. I just wish when they air how the rehearsal goes thru the week, they didn't show the fancy moves like the lifts so we're more surprised when we see the routine as a whole.

Paige. Amazing. Why did she become fighter? She should have stayed a professional dancer. Interesting Mark hasn't forced his partner to wear any weird get ups this season.

Women's dance was okay; Loved the men's dance. Nyle impresses me sooooo much.

Not ready for anyone to go home!

I thought Jodie, Kim, and Von's dances were okay but not thrilling.

I love the elegant dances, so really enjoyed both Nyle and Ginger. I love U2, so liked that about Nyle's dance too. His was my favorite guy dance of the night.

Antonio-I thought he was better than the judges did. In fact, I thought his footwork was very good. He really does have a sparkly smile and presence....even though his goofy hairstyle was back.

Wayna-a sweet dance, probably should have stayed there & practiced,

Paige-Wow! I loved her dance. What an ending! My favorite lady's dance of the night.

Neat to have the men vs the ladies. The ladies were oka,y but not as coherent as the men, who were great!

Very enjoyable. I don't want anyone to go home either!

O.K. - No spoiler alerts.... Winking

ERIN's hair.... did she just get out of the shower and slick it back with leave-in conditioner?

JODIE - love the way Tom emphasized how she suffered MULTIPLE INJURIES last week... waaaaa. But the truth is, a Meth addict can't just pop a pain pill when something starts to hurt. Thought she did a good job in her dance.

KIM - pissed about last week's scores. Well, they are what they are, and broadcasting your dissatisfaction is not really smart. After watching her do a samba in sneakers, I wondered if she ever really tried to emulate a female pro. She doesn't have the body composition for it, and all her dances - while fun and appealing - are not "professional league." And yet the judges heaped praise on her and gave her great scores! Guess it pays to b*tch....

NYLE - lost his cockiness, did a great, elegant job with his number.

ANTONIO - sewer cap is back, thought he brought a new dimension to his dance. Loved Tom's reference to the "Darth Vader Dance Troupe." Did you catch Sharna's wardrobe malfunction? Her left nipple was exposed underneath her lace top. Uh, in our world, no big deal.....

WANYA - Missed a lot of rehearsals, but his first number was cute and old fashioned. I knew Len would love it. He did.

GINGER - Not "nasty" enough last week! Her Viennese Waltz to Whitney Houston was beautiful, even if she did forget what to do with her hands several times. All 10s - wahoooo!

VON - Even though he is good natured about the parts he has to play on the dance floor, he is still somewhat lacking in the personality department. AND - he dances like Doug Flutie: can't lead for beans. Keeps waiting for Witney to throw him the ball. (I have to keep reminding myself that Witney is only 18 years old!)

PAIGE - That was an awesome, difficult dance to Tina Turner! The judges loved it - 10-10-10! HOWEVER, if you turned off the sound on your TV, you would see that she was almost always out of step with Mark.

TEAM JAMES BROWN - The guys definitely won this one. They took each one's strength and each one's weaknesses, and worked together as a team. THAT made it outstanding.

TEAM BEYONCE - Somehow the girls didn't seem all that involved in the choreography. The male pros did all the work, then spun their partners around a bit for the camera close-ups. No wonder their scores were lower.

As for the two couples who left, I was o.k. with the decision.

I was okay with the eliminations.

Blessings, you're right about Jodie, hadn't thought of the meth/pain killer connection.

Ha ha, sewe cap is back. At the end of Antonio/Sharna's dance, the TV went to a DWTS logo for a few seconds and I was wondering what that was about. Didn't notice the nip slip at all.

Interesting comment about Paige being out of step.

Witney is only 18? Wow I didn't know.

Nyle and Peta: stunning. The black and white with red accents, Peta's raw sexuality, the routine and the dancing to silence, oh my, amazing.

Antonio and Sharna, cute. I just don't see any dance chemistry between them, tho.

Jodie and Keo, absolutely loved it. Confidence and attitude. She was super great.

Paige and Mark, not a fan of the costume gimmick

Ginger and Val, was okay, I wish the lighting was brighter.

Wanya and Lindsay, why put that bandana in the dance? Too risky.

Team Bruno, pushing the boundaries with same sex dancing, ha ha. But Jodie and Nyle, awesome

Have I mentioned there's too many commercials?

Len in a grass skirt! Too funny

Team Carrie Anne: Antonio and Paige made a great dance couple!

I really hated seeing a contest voted off this week.

As an aside, I read that Carrie Anne dated Artem a few years ago.

NYLE and Peta – what a brilliant idea to stop in the
middle to go completely silent, to show the audience what Nyle experiences
every day. When they did that, I was in tears. (Have worked with deaf clients
for many years…) Glad to see it got to Carrie Ann, as well.

ANTONIO and Sharna – doing the “Vietnamese Waltz” or so
he thought… at least he is now showing up early for rehearsal instead of an
hour and a half late. Did  much better
this week, but the sewer cap is back.

JODIE and Keo – I hadn’t seen the magazine articles
saying “Is Keo Dragging Jodie Down in DWTS?”, but it was interesting they
brought that up in rehearsal. (Although whenever anyone gets criticized, the following
week the judges HEAP praise on them.) I haven’t liked Keo much from the start.
Seems like a big whiner. (Pouted about scores, blamed his bad footwork on a leg
cramp, not likeable at all.) And yes, he has made numerous mistakes while Jodie
kept on dancing. Their jive tonight was fun and I’m glad she got all 10s.

PAIGE and Mark – O.K. The man bun is irritating enough,
but when did he start using a fake British/Australian accent? I’ve noticed this
for the past few weeks. He was born in Houston Texas, fer cryin’ out loud! As
strange as their costumes were, I really liked his edgy take on the Viennese
waltz. Paige just gets better and better.

GINGER and Val – Loved their Argentine tango…. But she
should have worn dark red lipstick! One of the judges really nailed it when
they complimented “the dynamics of partner work” and how she and Val moved as
    one unit.

WANYA and Lindsay – DANG! He whacked her good, making her
bite all the way through her lip! Their dance, though, was a hot mess. In the
jive, you have to be totally in sync with your partner. If you ever wonder
about this, turn the TV sound off for a minute and watch their feet. Yes, it
was sad he tripped on Lindsay’s bandanna, but he was off-step the whole dance
    anyway.

    JUDGES CHOICE

TEAM BRUNO – I think he was going back to the roots of
the tango… starting as early as the 1800s, tango evolved into the dance of gangsters
and thugs, and patrons of brothels. It was sensual and aggressive, and the
whole “boys dancing with boys” and “girls dancing with girls” almost seemed
like a throwback to that era. Thought it was very well choreographed, and of
course each judge gave the other ones 10s.

TEAM LEN – Gee, is Len retiring? (Is this why they have
guest judges?) Is this why a mediocre “Gillligans Island” ripoff and happy, yet
ho-hum samba still got 10s from the judges? And Len himself got to star at the
    end? ZZZZZZZZZZZ……

TEAM CARRIE ANN – I wouldn’t expect anything less than a
major production from this former Flygirl. I loved seeing Paige do those whirls
and jumps! Very sculptural, different, and dramatic….

Tonight’s elimination – o.k. with me, AND the person
eliminated. Other irons in the fire….

    Next week: double elimination!!!!

p.s. We always DVR it and start watching about 20 minutes
into the show. That way we fast forward through all the commercials, and end up
    exactly at the end.

Okay, I just watched last night's show (the plus part of that is skipping all the fluff and commercials, the minus is not being able to vote....and the fact that I cheated and found out who was eliminated ahead of time).

    *Ginger-very good

    * Paige-very good, but I wasn't fond of the ice maiden choreography

*Nyle- Wow! And the silent dancing was really a tremendous statement in itself

*Antonio-he has grown on me; I enjoy his sparkle (even with the sewer cap hair)

*Jodie-I felt bad she was eliminated & think the partner surely had something to do with it. If she would have been paired with someone like Val, I think she could have gotten further in

*Wayna- I agree with Carrie Ann that he is staying to much in his comfort zone, doing things he is already good at instead of expanding

    Judges Choice:

    * Bruno-really perfect dancing, like the figures in a music box (a naughty music box). I didn't think the same sex dancing was a big deal at all........maybe because I've gone to lots of wedding dances over the years & people just dance with whomever & nobody thinks a thing of it.

    * Carrie Ann-also great, I loved how she could show off the athleticism of her two contestants. A gorgeous looking foursome out on the dance floor!

    * Len- it seemed a little too silly after both Bruno and Carrie Ann's dramatic dances.

GEE......I think starting with Jodie; this is the hard part, there is nobody that I want to be sent home!!!!

I think the judges can be part psychologists. They know Jodie's backstory, child star turned meth addict, miraculously turned back around. They were always encouraging to her and never harsh. And that's how it should be. She seemed to hit her stride after pairing with Val. The woman's dance last week hurt her scores. But she can feel good going out on a high note. I'm pretty sure the judges saw the writing on the wall and that's why they heaped on the praise, even tho it was well deserved, but they always took into account her history. I am glad. For some reason I was always rooting for her. Okay, I have seen every episode of Full House at least twice, lol

Who you're paired with always matters. ABC made sure Ginger got Val. She's improved, but I wouldn't mind seeing her go next. Wanya might because of that poor dance. I wasn't impressed with The Len Team tho he himself was a hoot. Antonio has Steeler Nation voting for him, but Nyle seems to have the heart of the voters. The win may very well go to him in the end.

Ruth - I agree. What if Jodie had been partnered with Derek? She really would have shined. (And Antonio IS growing on me... he is always smiling and never complains..., and yeah, even the sewer cap hairdo has become his signature look...Winking)

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

DivineMrsM - Oh, I agree that Jodie deserved all the praise she got last night. What I was referring to was all the praise they heaped on Keo (and others before him) , even after all his pouty tantrums, just because it was printed in a magazine that he was holding Jodie back. But you're right.... the judges also have to have compassion.  AND - I was happy to hear Jodie say she wasn't that upset about leaving DWTS, because she starts filming "Fuller House" this morning!!! Will you be watching that show? (Did you catch the shot of Candace Cameron Bure in the audience with tears in her eyes as Jodie danced? Very touching!)

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I really wanted Ginger to win from the start. We love her on the national weather. But truthfully, it may be hard to beat Paige, who seems to have finally gained her confidence. Nyle? A very strong contender! Wanya? Such a sweet guy, but too many other professional obligations, I think....

Very late is catching up on the DVR. Loved the silence in Nyles dance kind of would have liked it to be longer just for the effect. I hate when Mark does the 'make up' thing too gimmicky and she didn't need it as she is a real contender. Wanya seems to have hit a wall. Really liked Ginger and yes Antonio is growing on me too. Sorry to see Jody but she really did go out on a high note, her dance was lovely.

Speaking of Derek did you see his choreography he posted today dancing to the new Justin Timberlake sone, it was fantastic but then what do you expect from Derek

Well, for me, this has been a somewhat unremarkable season of DWTS. I am unhappy with the elimination tonight and who's left in the finals for next week. Too many dances have been lackluster. There's a certain kind of excitement thats missing this time. And some of it seems contrived

I am not happy or unhappy with the results....I don't know who I would HAVE wanted to go home. I think they all did good, but no one has shined beyond the others. I enjoyed the back stories. Antonio's lifts were spectacular (I will probably re-watch their dance just to watch the lifts). I wasn't liking Nyle's dances as much this week as I have the other weeks. Paige, I like a lot.

I just went on the DWS Facebook page and a number of people are not happy as they think Ginger is in pretty much in because she works for ABC. Also the fact that the elimination is based on LAST week's scores......something that has always bugged me too.

***spoiler alert: if you haven't checked out last night's results, don't read further***

I've not ever been a fan of Ginger. Not as a meteorologist or on DWTS. That she works for ABC is one more way it feels the results are contrived. She's not that good of a dancer.

Nyle was okay last night, but it was plain to see that he had issues due to the disability.

Paige, she just looks and acts too polished, much like the professional dancer she was, and I can't get past that.

It feels like the finalists are unevenly matched. I wanted to see Wanya in there at least to compete with Paige.

It also seemed the judges were awarding too many 10s overall thru the night and even 9s. And I agree, elimination based only on last week's results is completely wrong.

Ruth, it's certainly okay to say what you saw and no offense it taken, tho to me, it didn't seem out of place for both black male contestants to be eliminated. DWTS has always been very integrated, pairing black and white or any color contestants and professionals together, and the mirror ball trophy has gone to contestants of numerous different ethnicities. I think it was just coincidence.

Just read that Ginger has a pelvic injury...wow, sounds painful...but as with so many other contestants, says she's still gonna dance tonight. I don't think we can expect an amazing performance due to the injury.

In related news, Tamar Braxton made recent headlines getting fired from "The Real", a talk show, which I don't watch, I don't watch any of them, but they said she wasn't getting along with other cohosts and didn't "read" well with the audience. No big surprise there. Sometimes the divas are too out of touch with common folk.
