Fun show. I'll be happy with any winner, but may favor David/Rashad over Normani. They are so fun. Loved the ideas Rashad added to his routine.

Great show tonight, as much as I like Normani my votes went for Rashad, I think he's grown so much and I did love Davids routine.

Half way through the last show & I am thoroughly enjoying it. Everyone (including Erin and the judges) looks great. Wonderful & fun dancing by the cast and by the cast & stars. I've gotten a little misty eyed over the clips of each of the finalists. What a really nice bunch of people, who are appreciative and all seem to like each other very much.

    Back to the show......

*Spoiler alert* - dont read further if you havent yet learned who the winner of the mirrorball is this season:

Aw, what a nice finale. I was impressed with Charro, too, and she seemed in good spirits for the evening. I enjoyed seeing all the contestants again, some of whom I'd forgotten about! The little D.A.N.C.E. segment with Mr. T was so funny, and I was very impressed that one of the musical guests was Lady Antebellum, who's single I predict, will become a big hit. Loved it.

Winner.....no surprise. 1st runner up, well I was surprised. But I think Dave had such a big fan base. Plus, an excellent free style, one of my all time favorites. I was not surprised Lindsay created such amemorable one as she has shown her creativity thru many seasons. But the image of her balanced on her back on the baseball bat Dave held while he spun her around was breathtaking, and I am glad all that was rewarded.

I do think Rashad peaked at the right time. Normani seemed to be bringing the same old stuff the last few dances. As for Simone, I think DWTS likes to teachlife lessons to its contestants, and her lesson was that it is okay to not finish at the top, and life still goes on even when you dont place in a competition. I really do think some of the results are fudged and steered in a certain direction

Nice season, but for me, it lacked a certain pizazz and finesse.

When they said that Rashad and Emma practiced a hundred more hours than any other team, that sold them for me. They really, really wanted to win and worked hard for it. It's hard to know about the scoring. I do wish that the judges scores for any given evening be factored in to that night's elimination. Too many contestants are being axed on the same night that they got all 10s.

A few more observations: Val had just won last season with Laurie Hernandez, one of Simone's Olympic team mates. Plus several seaons ago, he won with Rumor so he had two wins. I think the show likes to have different professionals win, so that was in Emma's favor. And I think they didn't want back to back Olympic gymnast champions. Too much of the same stuff, they like to mix it up. At any rate, I am glad Emma got a win.

It also matters who the professional is. If Max had been Heather's partner the whole time rather than gotten injured, I think she would have made it to the semifinals. Not necessarily because he is a great teacher, but because he has a big fan base and draws veiwers. And he would have evened out her personality. She was a damn good dancer and glided across the floor in her dance during the finale.

If Simone had Derreck, she, too, woulda been in the finals. No one tops him in terms of being able to bring out exceptional results with his partners. Sasha is good, but he doesn't have the wow factor like Derrick.

Rashad Jennings claims 'Dancing with the Stars' win over David Ross

NFL running back Rashad Jennings and partner Emma Slater won the "Dancing with the Stars" finale on Tuesday night, beating former Chicago Cubs catcher and current ESPN analyst David Ross and Lindsay Arnold.

Fifth Harmony singer Normani Kordei and pro dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy finished third in the wrap-up of the show's 24th season.

The 32-year-old Jennings, a free agent, spent the previous three seasons with the New York Giants.

The winner was chosen based on viewer votes and judges' points from last week and Monday, combined with judges' points from Tuesday night's 24-hour challenge.

Jennings later tweeted that he never would have imagined he'd appear on the show, let alone win the whole thing. Ross wrote that he "couldn't be happier" for Jennings and Slater.

I would never have dreamed I'd be on @DancingABC much less win the Mirror Ball! @EmmaSlaterDance I'm SO your biggest fan! We did it!!! #DWTS

    @D_Ross3
A huge congrats to the mirror ball CHAMPS @RashadJennings and @EmmaSlaterDance. You guys deserve it and I couldn't be happier for you!

Jennings follows in the footsteps of previous DWTS winners who played in the NFL: Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver. Also in past seasons, Jerry Rice finished second, Calvin Johnson took third and Lawrence Taylor placed seventh.

At Wrigley Field on Tuesday night, not long after the Cubs' victory, players gathered around clubhouse TVs waiting for the DWTS winner to be announced.

Ross has taken some ribbing for participating on the program, and as the final commercials aired, the locker room mindset had changed little, if at all. Even Ross' close friend Jon Lester -- who had just pitched a complete game -- couldn't help himself.

"I'm surprised he's made it this far," Lester quipped. "I told him to take a fall in the first couple [of weeks] and pull a hammy."

But like all of Ross' former teammates, Lester was pulling for him. Slugger Kyle Schwarber even took a break from a postgame interview session to listen in for the winning couple.

After Ross survived the third-place announcement, these Cubs were sure he would be named the winner. But unlike in the final game of his MLB career -- Game 7 of the World Series in November -- Ross finished in second place.

Ross, who also played for six other MLB teams and was the first baseball player to appear on DWTS, was seen as a long shot to get to the finals. But he was a favorite with the fans, and he even won over the judges with his hard work and positive attitude.

On Monday, Ross said, "Just being in the finals, one, is way more than I ever expected, and the fact that I've got support from so many great people, and that they look up to me and watch this show and support me, just ... I don't even have the words, just a lot of thanks."

Hmmm....Erin was wearing a pretty dress, but still annoys me. I HATE the rule of only one judge doing the critique after each dance; the others have to sneak their comments in during the scoring (which seemed appropriately low this week). Not good. I liked Jordan & Lindsay the most, then Derek & Shanna. There were a bunch I thought were "okay", and several I didn't like at all (Barbara & Derek).

    Hi ladies!

I missed the first 45 minutes of the show, so I started with seeing Barbara Corcoran dancing. I really didn't think she was bad for a woman her age(66). I read her autobiography years ago before she was ever on Shark Tank. The title is "If You Don't Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons On Your Pigtails: and Other Lessons I Learned From My Mom; (aka "Use What You've Got)".

It was a great book. She is a self made millionaire and I am very impressed with that.

The story of Victoria being comatose for four years and her remarkable recovery even impressed my husband. What an inspiration she is, and adorably beautiful, too! Should be interesting to see how she'll do.

I was surprised how well I liked Vanessa Lachey, she was Very Classy and her and Maks seem very well paired. I look for her to go far. Nick Lachey, I haven't ever been to impressed with. One big reason: there was a vote on the legality of marijuana in my state of Ohio stipulating that if legalized, all large-scale marijuana cultivation would go to 10 designated farms called an oligopoly. With Nick Lachey being the owner of one of those farms. (He is from Ohio originally but is registered to vote in California). The bill did not pass; but if it had, profits of over a billion dollars would have been realized by these farm owners in just a few years. . Okay, enough of my political stuff. And anyway, Vanessa would have benefited from the bill passage too, but I am for some reason giving her a pass. Nick was the one who aggressively campaigned in Ohio for the legalization.

I was so surprised how well Derek did. His basketball dribbling to the beat really impressed me. Not sure why Sharna is always given pro sports athletes. They may do well.

Witney and Frankie, not bad. I was a huge Malcom in the Middle fan.

Jordan and Lindsay were looking good! They are a cute couple.

Nikki actually impressed me. I was surprised. I liked that she is not the sweet, precious woman but from the WWE. Tho that is a stage name.

I absolutely love Lindsey Sterling. I also read her autobiography, is was absolutely excellent. Called "The Only Pirate at the Party" the titled owed its origin to Stirling's diagnosis of cross-dominance in the second grade, for which an eye patch was prescribed. She was uncomfortable with the treatment until she began pretending she was a pirate. She is a pretty awesome woman, incredibly driven. She has a modesty dress code she has for herself I think because of her Mormon faith. We will see how DWTS challenges that!

Mixed feelings about Mark Ballas coming back and I hope he doesn't get too funky with the costuming. Their routine was great.

Will they only go with 3 judges this year? It seems choppy with only one commentary at a time with the others chirping in when they score.

I am hoping for an entertaining season. I thought the opener was really good, lots of stars with potential!

    Debbie was good.

I thought all the dancers did well and had improved from last week. I very, very much liked Jordan & Derek for the guys, and Nikki, Victoria, & Lindsay for the girls.

I thought the right person was voted off tonight.

That WAS fun! I didn't want anyone to go home. My favorites (with two exclamation points each) with Jordan & Lindsey. Frank was in my second place, and tied for third were Sasha, Vanessa and Terrell. I am out of town next Monday night and am already bummed that I will miss it.

I would agree with your assessment, Ruth, as to who were favorites.

Peta was looking way too thin. I also think she needs to have Nick's wardrobe less stuffy, Two nights of him in button down shirt with buttoned sleeves and wearing a belt....he is already too stiff in his motions and the "I'm going on a job interview" clothes don't help. Erin's hair looked great, much better than the pony tail the night before, but she was swimming in that red dress. I want Vanessa to do something with all that hair...I am never a fan of the messy, long and scraggly locks flying around in the dance routine. Len always likes girls with big bums, this season its Sasha. Carrie Ann is doing a good job judging. Frankie is adorable!

A bit of a surprise as to who was eliminated.

Another great show. Really, there are no bad dancers in the group. I will be sad every week when one more goes home.

    Lindsay and Mark, awesome.

    Jordan and Lindsay, also fabulous.

I loved Carrie Ann's dress. I agree, good to hear all comments by the judges.

I worked late but did catch up last night. I am going to say that I love that Drew has made such an improvement I am so pleasantly surprised as he was so stiff and ungainly that first week, and who would have thought that Nick Lachey would be so stiff after all he is a performer and I am absolutely loving Frankie. My gosh I agree about Peta she is skin and bone and yes it will be sad for whoever goes home I'm liking them all and glad we got to see Alan last night. They must all have "back up or go to" dance partners cause remember that's how we got to know Sasha as he was always Dereks "go to". I will miss the next two weeks as I will be out of the country so I'll maybe just read synopsis online and I'll be back in three weeks.

I am not a fan of the Property Brothers or their show, too hokey for me, so it surprises me that I think Drew is so fun to watch! Plus I love Emma. You make a great observation about him vs. Nick Lachey, cheryl. I am wondering where Max exactly was, no word on the actual reason he was absent. Oh, that little Frankie is just thirsting for the mirror ball, and I love that about him!

    hi DWTS fans,

I liked Victoria's quick step, Nikki and Artem, Sasha and Gleb and Nick and Peta.

Does anyone else think Artem's hair color and style is odd? I don't care for it, but I like him as a pro.

    Yes, Drew is improving

I had to miss the first 45 minutes tonight so just came in with Lindsey. I loved her, Vanessa, Derrick, and was blown away by Jordan. I will definitely go back and watch the dancers I missed, watch their dances and hear their stories. I was surprised by the elimination.

What a great show! Most memorable year never disappoints.

I never really liked the Property Brothers, but that surprise routine with both Drew and Jonathan dancing with Emma was absolutely awesome! As the saying goes: now that's entertainment!!! Jonathan danced so well along side the other two. Quite a highlight of the show.

Frankie Munez is so happy to be learning to dance I love watching him, too.

For some reason, I am glad Mark Ballas is back this season. Usually he irritates me. Everyone ups their game when he and/or Derek is around, tho, making it a better overall season. Of course, Lindsey Sterling is a fabulous partner for him to have, and their routine was beautiful.

Jordan, tho, was simply incredible. It was sheer poetry in motion and a joy watching him & Lindsay dance; I loved it.

I thought maybe the wrestler woman would be eliminated, so I was surprised at who was voted off.
