I think the ratings have been slipping. It's usually about ratings

It sounds like they did NOT tell her ahead of time. I'm not crazy about her, but not giving her a heads up seems pretty slimy to me!
Yes, jump on in TB90. The more the merrier!

just read about letting her go, seems they phoned her then did the press release, not nice but I guess that's 'show biz' also read Bruce Jenner is a possible dancer plus a young singer from Australia Cody Simpson, and the new bandleader is Ray Chew (whoever he is)!!!!

Ha, ha, ha, I hate to be totally rude, but I'm glad to see Brooke go!!!
The show would never be the same if Tom wasn't on there tho. Maybe they'll have "guest hosts" like they had "guest judges" last year.
I would hate to ever see any of the judges be replaced, either. Those three plus Tom and the professionals make the show.

I definitely agree!

TheDivineMr. I totally get it about Brooke as a host, but when she dealt with her thyroid cancer publicly, I did see a totally different person. That totally different person never showed up on the show unfortunately. Howard Stern was ruthless in his criticism of her.

add me to the list of Brooke nonlikers! (Hate is too much energy) LOL
We'll see how it goes. But i love Tom. He makes the show.

Ohhhh, I'm not sorry at all to see Brooke Burke-Charvet go.
If they judged hosts like they did dancers, she'd hover somewhere around a combined score of 1 or 2. And that's only because she looks good!
Her inability to improvise, her stiff, Stepford Wife presence, and her absolutely inane, stupid questions to the contestants just drove us crazy.
But I'm sure she's a really nice person!!!

Erin Andrews is the new co host and from all that I've been reading, she is definitely not a popular choice, comments are all about her 'whiney' voice, personally I think it could have been fine with just Tom but hey it's Hollywood, pretty arm candy is always needed!!!!!

OH EFFING NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
They could not have picked a worse hostess. I may literally not watch the show now.
I ALWAYS complain to my husband when he probiotics commercials come on about how I can not stand her voice.
YUCK YUCK YUCK

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.......

well, well, well ladies did you hear..... MAKS IS BACK
0 -
Maks!!!! Yes!!#!
0 -
no, hadn't heard, so thanks.
Did hear they're announcing the cast (officially) I believe Tuesday. Wonder if there will be any leaks?
0 -
Hmm...this is the first I hear about Maks. I used to like him more before he went all rogue. I will tune in to see how things go this season, and I'm curious to hear the line-up of dancers, but I'm not going to commit to the whole season yet! Then again, other than watching Mike & Molly on Mondays, there isn't anything else that interests me on TV that night.

I think this looks like a fun cast!

poor Tony HAS HAD "Shopping carts" A lot. At least they gave him a win. Nene is loud but looks like she can dance. I'll be interested in Drew Carey too. Looks good like fun.

Ooooo, looks intriguing! First, the gold medalist ice dancers...wow...they were my favorite thing about this year's winter Olympics...now they will be pitted against each other. I love them.
I also love Candace Cameron. She grew into such a beautiful woman.
Admittedly, some of the others I never heard of, but that's okay because sometimes there's a break out dancer among the sort-of anonymous.
I'm a little confused about the voting for celebrity/professional partner as the list seems to already have them paired?
Well, if necessary, I will hit the mute button when the Probiotics pitch-woman comes the screen; I really would love it if she were a better choice than Brooke but have my doubts but of course I'll be tuning in to see.

There was mention of a switch of partners mid-season. Maybe that will be a when the vote for partner pairings will come in?
0 -
I think the partner switch is the hook - to bring people back to DWTS. Derek mentioned it, haven't seen much else about it. They probably want people interested because of the way voting was changed last season. That's just my thoughts.

The clock is ticking!

You girls read my mind! Thinking about it, too!

Great minds think alike!

I still think they shouldn't have the seniors on with the younger ateletes! Have a summer session for them! I am always scared on if the older people will get hurt!

so, tomorrow it the big day, roll out of the new season. Will be interesting

Local ABC news (LA) just ran a promo piece on DWTS:
- producers promise big changes including new ballroom look, plus at some point stars and pros will have to switch partners for at least a week
- new voting system: elimination will be based on both the judges' scores and viewers' votes from the current week, which means the booted pair will have already been determined before they dance the following week but they won't know it
I'm just repeating what I heard.

Just a couple hours now!!

Well, I've been watching tonight for almost an hour and a half, and I LOVE it!
First: I'm SO glad they put the judges box back on the left! Good move.
Secondly: The pairing is GREAT.....altho I wish poor little Emma could have gotten a better partner than Billy Dee Williams who I think will be the first to go. I'd have liked to see her in the show more. But Max with the Olympic dancer, Val with Winnie (Danica) and Candace with Mark.....Cheryl with Drew...Tony & NeNe.....they are all good match-ups.
I'm not a fan of Erin, but I can see a slight improvement over Brooke. A little less Stepford-wife and more of a reporter, and that's okay. It's just her nasal-y voice...I do mute the tv sometimes when she's talking...lol....
The costuming has been great. Candace Cameron...I've always been a fan, but she's such a gorgeous and classy woman. I also love the positive influence Danica has on girls, I love that she writes books about loving math.
The dancing has been pretty good for the first night. Enjoying the show.
