Wow loved it. Meryl was amazing
0 -
yes, Meryl was amazing! She seems to be coming out of her shyness shell.
I'm still very impressed with Amy, disability or not, she's good, counting the disability, I'm floored

Really some lovely dancing this year all the way around.
I think they said they are doing Disney themes next week.....I can totally picture Meryl as Jasmine from Aladdin.
0 -
Oh, yeah, that make a baby comment gagged me, too!
I don't think there was much drama regarding the partner switch. They all seemed to take the challenge as a way to learn things in a new way to take back with them when they reunited with their original partners.
I loved how Peta was so psyched to see James do well, and all the other professionals were pumped up to see their original partners do well.

I'm very sad to hear that, iIn related news, former co-host Samantha Harris is in the news today because she's been diagnosed with bc and will be undergoing a double mastectomy.
0 -
I am sorry to hear that too. My stomach sinks whenever I hear that anyone has been diagnosed.
0 -
that's a hard comment to follow.....

Well, we will get back to the dancing. I predict that Drew will be out this week.
0 -
true, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Candace
0 -
Could be....I predict the next three out (in any order) will be Drew, Candace, and Nene.
0 -
Or it could be Nene. Cheryl often has a way of bringing out the 'right stuff' with her partner at the right time to push them a bit farther into the competition.

I just came across an interview Erin did this week. Here's part of it:
Andrews added that she would not want to be a Dancing With the Stars contestant again because she "would never fit into any of my old costumes. I was about 15 pounds lighter when I was doing Dancing With the Stars because I lost so much weight." As a result, Andrews will continue to be a bit out of the loop.
"I'm not in the practice studio," she explained. "That's what I used to call daycare because everyone was around, but I am not there anymore. so I show up on Sundays and Mondays, and I don't know anything. That's why I am asking the questions on live television."
And how are Andrews and co-host Tom Bergeron getting along during their first season together?
"We talk on Monday mornings and in a script meeting together," the new host said. "He sent me a really nice text message this week. He is there if I ever need him. I don't want to overwhelm him, but we've had back-and-forth about what I could do or what he wants from me."

I watched the first show then missed a bunch so am really looking forward to tomorrow. Did catch a bit of that Argentine tango with Meryl & Val and it was GREAT!

Tonight's show was great! The Disney theme was wonderfully entertaining.
Stuff I didn't like: Erin looked so terrible tonight I laughed out loud when I saw her. I'm not a Donny Osmond fan and in fact, the season he won was one of my least favorite, it was so boring. I'm tired of looking at Drew Carey dancing with that mouth-open expression on his face the whole time.
I get a little worried with Meryl being with Maks. He just doesn't always get it right with the choreography and he always trys to stir up controversy and I'm bored with that.
The good stuff: Once again, the segment with Amy Purdy brought me to tears. I loved Charley and Sharna's dance as I'm a big Mary Poppins fan. Cody was good, but his little partner professional, Witney, looked amazing. Same with Danica. I actually thought NeNe and Tony looked pretty good tonight.
Sometimes I felt the animation was distracting, but it was jaw dropping fabulous when Peta and James danced to "Let it Go". Wow, that was my favorite performance of the night.

Divine, we think alike, here are my notes:
* I loved the Disney theme too......fantastic!
* Donny annoyed me with all his reminders about how HE won DWS. Blah, blah, blah....
* Erin makes Brooke look/sound good by comparison
*Why did they tell some couples they were in jeopardy before they danced & waited to tell the others until after they danced?
*Also very sick of Drew's pained expression
*Really liked Charlie, Danika, Meryl, Cody
* loved Amy
*James was absolutely perfect!
* was not at all happy with the elimination......

loved loved loved James' and Peta's dance! Just lovely. Amy's was great too. I'm glad they didn't downgrade them for lifting because as the judges said there were things she just couldn't do. I also loved the Disney theme. Fun night.

Oh wow, didn't see that elimination coming. He doesn't have a large following here?
the Disney theme was fun. I enjoyed the animations as long as it doesn't happen on a regular basis.
Amy continues to impress. I agree with moonflower that it was fair in this case to make a bit of an exception since it accommodates a disability.
Still think it's cute watching Meryl coming out of her shell.
Don't want to be mean, but Drew needs to go soon. He just isn't the caliber of the others.

Nene would be at the top of my list for elimination, then Drew. I agree tonight's show was great. Enjoyed Charlie's dance with the penguins.

Yes, Charlie's penguin dance was adorable!
It is strange how they haphazardly announce the couples in jeopardy. There's no rhyme or reason to the method.
Len gave out an unusual amount of 10s last night; did the Disney theme put him in a happier frame of mind, or is the dancing just that good?
Overall, tho, I really like how the season is going, and I'd sort of love to see Meryl win, but Charlie, James or Danica are strong contenders so you just never know.

Does anyone know: How is it ordained which dance style each couple dances each week, and do the contests and/or pros get to pick the actual songs they perform, or are they chosen for them?(and if so, by whom?)

ruth, I don't know the answers to your questions, which are ones I think everyone would like to know.
In related news, Derek Hough has a book coming out May18 and I plan to get it from the library. It's called, appropriately: Taking the Lead.

A bit of trivia, my 21 year old son has a similar look to Derek, dark blonde hair, blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and he would even wear a watch and shirt similar to the one Derek wears on the book cover. Derek's hair always looks great, so sometimes when ds goes for a haircut, I'll pull up photos of Derek online and say, 'get your hair cut like this'.

TDMM, yep. He NEEDS a haircut like that! LOL

just heard LMFAO is the guest tomorrow and party anthem theme
0 -
bump (and grind) Party Anthem fun!

Loving party anthem night....

Great show tonight but that was a horrible rendition of Rick James Superfreak... Liked the old band better.
0 -
I didn't get to watch it tonight as I took my son back to college this evening. I am hoping I can catch the show on some abc website or something sometime tomorrow.

Glad of the outcome.
*Redfoo, was goofy. I don't think he added much.
* I didn't like the Macy's routine...thought it looked like something from a dark sci-fi flick, not a party anthem!
*I thought both Nene and Candice showed improvement
* I think that Drew should shave that blob of hair under his lip!
* Very much liked James, Danika, and Charlie.....fun dances.
*Loved Amy!
* Meryl & Max ....so sweet together really & what a fabulous dance!!!
Latin Dance next week....oh my!
