What do you think of Cher being a guest judge? I'm in favor of it, I admire Cher because she's multi-talented and has been around forever. Here's a link to an article about it, it says she'll be singing in the show as well.

I like Cher but wonder why Len is taking so many nights off? I don't remember any judge being gone that much before.
I think I will put my money on Corbin, or maybe Amber. I don't know why, but I just don't like Elizabeth at all.
Still hate the format....if we are using the scores from the dance the week BEFORE, maybe the judge's scores on how they did on the CURRENT dance should carry more weight.

About Len: I still think it's about the new wifey, that seems to be the biggest change this year (for him)
It will be interesting with Cher0 -
ruthbru, I kinda agree with you. Its almost as if the judges points dont matter for the day they go home. I thought nicki really put her all into that group dance, but I dont think she did that for all her dances lately. Im kinda hoping Amber wins cause she just seems so genuine and humble. Thats really nice to see. Corbin is a great dancer but maybe a bit too much attitude. Not so much anymore but in the beginning he did. I like Jack but hes getting outclassed by the really great dancers they have this year.
It was hard to say who won the group dance until I watched them both about 3 times. Then I noticed the graveyard one had more dancers out of sync a couple times?, but the fox one was more together. But both were fun and entertaining.
I really want to see a season of all the older dancers competing against each other. So they can do great dancing but not have to keep up with 20 somethings. That way popularity wont keep in the bad dancers too long.0 -
Maddy my theory is wrong, I found Lisa Osborns FB page and there is a picture of her with her Dad on her wedding day and it's not 'beard guy'0 -
thanks, Cheryl for putting so much effort into this. Maybe he's just a friend of one of the dancers and not a big celebrity (even though they were treating him special at the taping).0 -
I am looking forward to seeing Cher judge next week, I have always liked her and I think she will add something to the show. I am actually going to see Cher in concert in May!
I liked both group dances but thought that there were more missed steps in the grave yard dance.
I was shocked and sad to see Snooki leave, I felt so sorry for her you could tell it was a shock to her.0 -
Will save specific comments for tomorrow, but I thought that the scoring was artificially high for almost everyone......

thanks for waiting. Our programming was pushed to 1:30 am (recording it) because of Packers playing. Also if anyone cares Castle was postponed too.0 -
I'll hold off too, see you tomorrow....0 -
Good morning, ladies!
I've had bronchitis this week, and because I'm under the weather, I ended up dozing on and off during last night's show. I saw Corbin's dance and also Amber's, but I have to say, I wasn't overly impressed with either. I also saw the dance-offs, but I'm not usually a fan of that format, and then when the liked Leah's dance so much...ugh. She kinda is reminding me of Brystol Palin; no one seems to like her too much but she keeps getting voted forward.
I also wasn't a big fan of Cher being a judge, altho I respect and admire all her accomplishments. She really didn't seem like she knew what she was judging. Oh well. It's nice the show paid homage to her and all her contributions to the music scene, tho.
I was satisfied with who got voted off. But I have to say, this season is still lackluster to me. There's a certain spark that's not there. I think Corbin, Amber and Elizabeth should all be in the semi finals, but we'll see if there are any more surprise vote-offs before then.
This morning, I voted for the first time this season using a Facebook app.0 -
I felt the same about Cher. I love her songs, acting, persona etc. but, although it is probably OK if I vote for a dance because I liked the particular song, the official judges should be held to a higher standard. They ALL scored too high & seemed rather 'blah' about giving all those 8 & 9s.
Elizabeth look clunky to me, she seems 'too big' in a way that Amber does not, so it must be the way she carries herself/moves etc.
Jack, I thought, did a really good job. He was much more light on his feet and fluid in his motions than at the start.
Corbin & Amber were really good, as usual.
Everyone else can go. A disappointing season as of now.

I thought having Cher as a judge was a total waste, I love her music but couldn't get over the "one expression" face, such a shame when you just can't grow old gracefully in the entertainment business, also I know there are tons of people running around that set, did no one see that her shorts weren't even ..... as for the dancing, loved Derek and Amber and Corbin and Karina, only a couple of more weeks to go, these seasons go by so quickly0 -
I think Cher just held onto the 9 on her lap and didn't let it go. That's why they all got 9s. Except the one time she picked up the 8 by mistake. LOL. Amber is my favorite and Jack is really dancing. Corbin doesn't do it for me. Leah is really bad. I don't like her. She is dancing very heavily. It just doesn't flo. Elizabeth is me for me.0 -
Ha, ha, well, I love that phrase: "one expression face". That describes it very well! I was not a fan of it either, and the comment about the 9 paddle in her hand sounds about right, too! Sadly, I see that 'one expression face' on WAY too many celebrities as their faces are stretched up and back then filled with Botox . So unnatural....reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "The Eye of the Beholder" where a woman undergoes surgery to look like everyone else...it's revealed that everyone else is deformed and she is beautiful, but she is led to believe she's hideous...a line from the show: "What kind of world where ugliness is the norm and beauty, the deviatiation from that norm?"0 -
Interesting question!
And back to Cher; did anyone else notice that the outfits they had her in actually made her (beautiful) legs look kind of chunky?
0 -
Maybe they're not so beautiful anymore? I also thought it was kind of bad to use the original "do you believe in a dance after she sang it live. Kind of a bad comparison. I have to think maybe they chose it because it didn't have to many words to remember? Because I didn't think Cher was all there that day. Maybe it's just me.0 -
I thought Cher acted kinda ditzy, didn't really know what to say to the contestants, just there to add the celebrity factor to the show. ( But Jennifer Lopez has been in the audience for a few weeks; she would be a much better judge as she is a phenomenal dancer). I think Corbin will win, he's incredible.0 -
I agree with lots of you before me: Cher was the big-name draw, but her consistent 9's were annoying. Overall, I like they don't drag it out over the 2 nights, but I think they're scoring system needs some tweaking as evidenced by sending Snooki/Nichole home over Leah (I find it difficult to believe that Leah had more fan support than Nichole). That all being said, I would like to see the underdogs of Jack, Amber and Elizabeth at the end. Anything special for tomorrow? Is it just me - I'm getting a little bored with this season?0 -
I figure Cher's reason for being there was to promote her new CD. And I figure her record company probably has some kind of important connections to ABC and they merge all that together to profit as much as they can from it all.0 -
thanks, Divine, that now makes sense! They could have put a real-sized cardboard cut out of Len with a fake hand to hold a 9 paddle - probably would have done just as much good0 -
ha, ha, so true!0 -
Well I preferred looking at the cardboard Cher.....LOL0 -
I'm watching now...everyone's completed the first dance. I'm very irritated with the judges. Amber was great; they gave her 8s. Leah comes out, was boring, barely seemed to move her feet, they gave her 9s. They told her she was a 'contender'. Ugh. I loved Elizabeth's dance but they scored her low. Corbin was equally good, but Carrie Ann and Len scored him same as they did Leah. No way they are both in the same league. Toni gave him a 10. Jack got all 9s. He seemed stiff and unnatural and how did he score higher than Amber? I would not be happy if Leah ends up in the semi finals. I have already voted via Facebook, two votes each for Amber, Corbin and Elizabeth. That's who I want to see in the semi finals.0 -
Love your picture, Divine. Yeah, the minds of the judges are a mystery to me too!
0 -
Okay, I just saw Leah's routine where she's imitating Carrie Ann, Toni's imitating Toni and the other guy is Len. I have to admit, it was very clever and the two guys did great imitations. But the only reason they got 9s was for the gimmick, the dancing wasn't that great. For anyone else, they don't give points for the gimmick. I guess they sort of had to give higher points or they would be seen as poor sports. I could tell the judges liked the concept.
Thanks for the compliment on my new avatar, Ruth! It was taken over the weekend while my husband and I were out enjoying one of the last nice fall days for the season.0 -
At least they got Corbin right!
People who haven't watched yet....don't read this....we can't help ourselves!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I HATE this voting from last week's format!!!!!!!!!!
0 -
What in the hell was all that fawning over Corbin's trio dance "the best routine ever" oh get real, it was good but not the best routine ever, tonight I loved both of Derek and Amber's routines and I did like Corbin's waltz but I agree with Ruth this voting is so screwed up grrrrrr0 -
something is all messed up: sorry, even though Leah has greatly improved and the trio routine was cute (but not super special), I don't think she has a huge fan base now, just how is she still here? Bill isn't great but he has a great connection to the audience, which she doesn't have. if she continues, I'd think this was fixed. At this point, I feel like we should be seeing outstanding performances from the remaining contestants (minus injuries) but this season is surely lacking.0
