Yeah, Erin's a little too loud, too.  I thought Diana Nyad looked beautiful.  The last guy, the ice dancer, was good, but I wish he'd do something more with his hair.  I was surprised I liked Sharna paired with him.

    Very good show!

    * sexy start

    * I'm glad the sky box is back

    * I actually liked all of the couples, each in their own way.

    * Billy, without a doubt should be the first to go. Too bad they don't do like pro gold and have a 'Senior's Division'.

    * I could see quite a number of people who have the potential of doing very well. Here is a question: if they have to change couples in the middle of the competition, do they just win the ball just themselves? (which it think would be a bummer for the pros, as they like bragging rights too).

    * Very happy with the show, especially after last year. Thumbs up! ThumbsUp

Good show tonight. Loved Meryl and Charlie. So impressed with Amy and think she will do well. Agree that Billy will likely be the first to go with Diana soon to follow.

Very interestjng. But i almost turned off the sound with Erin! LOL.   Amy has Derek. He will get the best out of her. Good matchup. I liked Tony and Nene even though I hate NeNe. There are some good matchups. But i am afraid Billy De is going first. I want a SENIOR SENSON! I've been wishing that for years. It's so unfair to put up a 78! Year old with 20 or 30 somethings!

Oh well interesting season coming up.

Yes, I'm glad to see it looks like they learned from their "mis-steps" (ha,ha, pun intended) from last season and made improvements.  If last night was any indication, this season will be much improved from the last one.

It seemed to me Bruno was quite taken with Cody...I read that Cody is only seventeen years old!  But he looks pretty slick on the dance floor.  I also thought NeNe did well and is a good match up with Tony.  I never watched Housewives, but she was on a few episodes of Glee and I loved her on that.

They all seemed a little looser and happier at the start this time, too.

I also like the friendly rivalries between Meryl and Charlie and Candace and Danica.

O.K. I have to admit I was in a crappy mood last night (caught DHs cold Devil) and I just didn't have the energy to watch.

I was all... "Dancing With The 'Has-Been' Stars" or "Dancing With The 'Wanna-Be' Stars" and I figured it would be a bust and a total waste of my time.

But all y'all have convinced me to at least take a look.... luckily it's on DVR and I can watch it this afternoon!

    Thanks, DWTS fans!

Blessings, you bring up a topic I've heard before about the type of 'stars' the show brings on.  It has always been supposed to be a sort of 'tongue-in-cheek' title for the show, always going for the B, C and D list celebrities who are either over the hill and/or looking to restart their career and want to get themselves back in the game with a show like this (it works for some).  For me, it's what I find so appealing of the show: that a new group of misfit celebs can come together season after season and through hard work, determination and the ever popular spray tans, often end up being the talk of TV by generating excitement and friendly rivalries leading up to and including a fabulous grand finale

I like this season SO much better than last season.  Ha, ha, the biggest thing I think helped me is that they moved that judges booth back over to the left.....that really threw me off last season.

I really liked the costuming tonight. I thought Sharna's outfit was gorgeous, all grey and beaded and mesh. I thought Diana Nyad looked fabulous, except for her shoes which looked like geriatric boots, lol. I would love to see Maks' partner, the ice dancer, get paired with Derek for a week, I think they'd be great.  I still have my girl crush on Peta and wish my hair was the cut and color of hers tonight.

So far, Erin Andrews isn't getting on my nerves nearly as much as I was afraid she would.  But I told DH, tonight she looked like she ran a marathon today in her sweat suit with her hair pulled back doing a commercial for the probiotic stuff and then realized she had the DWTS gig to do, so she just threw on a gown....loved the gown, hair looked like crap.

Okay, I won't give anything away. I am liking it much better than last year too, but do not like Erin any more than Brooke (possibly less)....time will tell on that one, and they apparently have still not figured out how to handle the eliminations yet since they told one person he/she was out before he/she danced & waited until after the dance to tell the other. ???

Will talk about all the stuff I DID like (which was most of it) after the West Coaster have a chance to see the show.

I read that Diana did NOT like her outfit last week (which I thought was lovely). She thought it made her look too matronly and really pushed for the more 'zingy' one she wore tonight.

Wow, that was a surprise elimination! Somebody must have a big following.

As far as Erin, I agree about the comment about her hair. Other than that, I think she did a better job talking with the contestants and just needs a little time to feel comfortable. We're comparing her to Brooke who held that job for a couple years. Erin's background is interviewing athletes so I'll cut her some slack for a couple weeks.

It was cute seeing Meryl so animated, she did a great job dancing too.

    * Last night I thought the best dancing man was James, and best dancing lady was Meryl.

*I liked Danika, Charlie, Tony, Nene, and Amy....all very good, solid dances and fun to watch.

    * so-so for Drew & Candace (whom I didn't really think 'danced' much at all).

    * Billy, should have been first off! I thought he should have been gone & Diana should have gotten a second shot. Not sad to see the crabby hockey player go.

James was great. And yes, Billy shoulda been gone and better be the next to go.

The hockey player (Sean Avery), tho, is very unliked.  I don't know if any of you know him, but a few years ago when he was a hockey player, some other hockey players dated a few of his ex-girlfriends, and at a press conference, he said “I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds." Obviously, there was outrage at the remark.  When he was introduced last week on the show, the producers aired a clip of him saying that (refreshing everyone's memory) and, imo, that sealed the deal for his elimination.  I read that Sean was really ticked that the clip had been shown.  But it is what it is.  A family show really doesn't want someone like that around, I don't think, altho he didn't bother me one way or another.

Omgosh, NeNe Leaks is a big woman!  She is taller than Tony without heels!  I worry that Maks doesn't have enough finesse to take Meryl all the way to the finals.  I feel the same way about Val with Danica and also Sharna with Charlie.  I love all four of those stars.  I'm not sure how far Cody will get with his new professional.

I think Amy really benefited by having Derek as her pro this week. He could work the dance to her strengths and minimize the things that would be problematical for her.

Derek is a wonderful dancer, but his choreography skills and desire to make his partner look good consistently give his partners an advantage that some of the other pros don't have the ability to share with their partners.

I have to agree with o atmom. Derek is very good at using his partners strength. But he sucks at following the rules for the dances. They get downgraded because of that. Tony is good at getting the best out of his partners too but I think Derek is the better choreographer. And the hockey player really looked like he was Sucking on lemons when they called his name. But Diana was class itself.

I was glad to see Amy paired with Derek.  Not sure any of the other pros have the choreographic skills to optimize a routine for her. I hope she goes far.  Have to admit I do like Charlie.

just looking at GMA I had dvr'ed from this morning. Sean complaining that he didn't like how he was portrayed by his previous bad behavior. Maybe he'll figure it out it will follow him forever and he needs to show everyone he's changed.

I saw Sean on GMA this morning and he said he didn't like the way he was portrayed and blamed the producer he was dealing with, oh well too bad,  and do you think they came up with the double elimination just to get rid of him, hmmmm?  I was sad to see Diana go I thought she did a fine job and felt she was getting better. Derek well he is truly amazing and I like both Meryl and Charlie. Now really is it fair Billy Dee got three dancers again.... Btw Billy Dee was the first celebrity I ever saw when I moved to Los Angeles in 1978 at Farmers Market and ooee he was such a handsome manSmile
