Oh, and that booze in the hairspray bottle thing...our guy pals snuck it into the band hall in trombone slide oil bottles. We'd buy the little cartons of lemonade at lunch & put it in that.

OMG! I love this thread! I believe my friends were always helping me zip up those jeans!!! And Bon Jovi - loved him too!

If I wore jeans that I had to lay down to get zipped up today, I'd have a SERIOUS issue with muffin top overload.

here ya go! Today in my Publix!!!

Maybe it was all the canned Hi-C punch.

I think it was being the middle child..I blame everything on being the middle child !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
0 -
I'm an only
0 -
Well, of course! Why didn't I think of that!. Yes being an only child comes in handy sometimes.
0 -
I'm a middle child too! Yes, that was it. And Canned Hawaiian Punch,, that was popular in my childhood. Thanks for the TANG pic!!

I'm the oldest of two and my younger sister drank Tang by the gallon, was a serial Oreo cookie eater, and drank Coke for breakfast instead of coffee. I was exposed to the same options but chose differently. It's definitely eating a healthy diet

yea ....Tang and Puffed Wheat with powdered milk !!! yum yum !!!!!
0 -
Powdered milk - forgot about that. Mom never got it quite right, either too watery or under. My system probably revolted with it being different each time and sent BC cells out to combat it.

yes I concur that the middle child syndrome could have played a role, along with cool-aid and fruit loops....wait, my mom never allowed us either, lol!
0 -
Well, Kool-Aid was a staple in our house. And Miracle Whip.
0 -
Hawaiian Punch, hot dogs, Fruit Loops and Miracle Whip. There is it,, the cause,,,,0 -
middle child, that's me! and a tomboy, so that's what did it for me, plus: i was resentful that i wasn't a boy..
0 -
Have to agree with the middle child thing, for sure! And ooooh, all the Tang I consumed....Yep, I was doomed.
0 -
wow, lots of middles, here, how many were the third child? And how many of us are south pawed?
0 -
Can't go there on the being a southpaw, although two of my kids are ... anyhow, I can relate to the tomboy thing though. I think it always kind of got under my moms skin because I was. LOL! Gosh, I even got kicked out of Brownies!!!

that's great, alive! i never got to do that, but thats all right. i was probably up in the tree, pretending i was a mountain lion. i wasn't too interested in anything that you had to wear a dress. had to at school, but, as soon as i got home, jeans were on! cant do ANYTHING in a dress!

That's for sure! I was the one who went exploring the woods and creek etc; my friends were at home playing with their dolls. Mom would get so mad at me because she could never find me, hahaha... I ended up grounded many, many, times. Then confined to my room for hours on end. But that was cool, because I have a knack for fixing and creating things. I had my stereo recorder in pieces and put back together, and doing chemistry 'experiments' instead of hangin out with others.
I was kind of a loner. But hey! The tomboy factor is a definite possibility!

middle child between two boys. Definitely a tomboy.
0 -
alive, you sound so much like me, it's uncanny.

Third child here; 2 older sisters (no BC) and younger brother (the brat!). And, yes, I'm a lefty. Hmmm, BC was on right. Maybe being a lefty protected my left breast?
0 -
BC on left,,, and I'm right handed. Are we on to something here??

I just LOVE this thread. Makes me smile all the time and of course laugh out loud a lot! Someone mentioned Miracle Whip that is what my mom always used for sandwiches. I had another thought I use to love eating Kraft Dinner Macaroni and Cheese. Now there are enough strange ingredients in that but no I needed more...I would stir in Cheese Whiz (more fake cheese) to make it even creamier. I ate tons of that it was my fast go to lunch. Probably also the coloured syrup they put on slushies. Food colouring cannot be good ever!

My Mom started working when I was 10,, and the one lunch I could make was hot dogs. I'm thinking it was all those Oscar Mayer Weiners

My mom! Oh she had some weird ideas!!!! She decided I was "run down". So every night she would mix a raw egg in MD 20/20 and make me drink it. Wonder it didn't kill me, but I bet that gave me bc.
0 -
MD 20/20??? Yep,, that was it, for sure!

Holy crap! I'll bet it put you to sleep anyway! I still remember mama aging her fruitcakes with Mogen David soaked cheesecloth, and before you start the fruitcakes jokes, they were really good. I remember helping make them in a bowl as big as a washtub.
