But they tasted SO GOOD, I couldn't help myself - and I did eventually pay for them...the ones that were left anyway!  Loopy

yea, many times. but the other day when i tried, this cute young produce guy said "wait, have you tried these ones yet?' & he showed me these elongated, almost two inch long extremely purple ones, and we just stood there and tried them. eeew, i thought  they were way too sweet, and he did too, so we went back to the other red tart ones. no one chased us away or anything! next time i will just go ahead and have an avocado...

OMG!  We live in the mountains above the great Central Valley in California.  You know, the ".breadbasket of the nation", if not the whole world.  We drive thru this valley to go to Los Angeles at least once a month.  During the spring and early summer months we often see the crop dusters flying over the fields of grapes.  Two weeks ago they were picking those grapes, and yesterday I bought some and ate them in the car just like Coraeliz and the rest of you.  I've done this all my life.  Except for the years when I lived in Africa and DDT was sprayed every where.  Couple that with Tang, Twinkies, and violin practice--it's a wonder we are still alive.

OK, now who is going to write this up for some scientific journal?

No, reading causes BC!!!!  Just drink and smoke and eat cake all while lying on the beach (but don't go in the water as bathing causes BC!)  Yes it does.  The little fishies don't like strangers messing up their water so those little bubbles you see the fish blowing actually carry BC cells.  Watch out.

Good grief - I was back a page - you folks have been busy as I didn't even think to check before I posted.

I can't believe that I'm posting here with a group of grape/cherry/fruit thieves.  Oh, whatever kind of company have I gotten myself into.  No, I don't taste them (and yes, usually end up with sour/no taste grapes) because I'm afraid of what may be on them (bird poop, cat pee) - Ewwwwwwwwwwwww Yuck!  heehee

patoo, you are soooooo right though! I just wipe them a little on my shirt, *as if that will help, and chomp!

I may have been a fruit thief.....apparently one among many.... but truth be told, it was karma....

I think I'll just take that lil walk on the beach with my drink and pipe and let my nerves cease! Loopy

But not to worry patoo! I won't be bathing anytime soon!!!! Hell no I won't go!!!

I think it was worrying about the cigarettes & booze & hoping I didn't get caught with them as a teenager.

And I was worse at the store...I know I occassionally ate a Brach's Royale or caramel without putting a penny in the box as a kid...

I think it was my stupid bathtub, you know, the kind with the stupid straight vertical back that you can't lie back & soak in? I'm 5'3". I don't need the leg room. Yep, stress from no lolling in hot water. Stupid bathtub.

Well, you've all gotten me thinking. If not for modern medicine I would not have gotten BC. Proof: during perimenopause I developed severe allergies to wasp and hornet stings - anaphylactic shock. More than once it was epipen, ambulance to the hospital, IV steroids. If not for those tx I would never had gotten BC since that was about 7 or 8 years after they did those sinister things that I got BC.

They SAID they were helping me. HA!

okay, I was told by a guy I work with what causes breast cancer.  And he knows everything, so it must be right.  Do you know it's a proven fact that wearing bras that are too small for you causes breast cancer.  Had I only known.....

He also told me that this August has 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays and 3 Sundays, and that won't happen again for 823 years.Winking

kay-i have heard the whole 3 fridays things and told it was supposed to make us have money this month..Yeah we are going to make millions on the groundbreaking research here on this thread..

Bending over the tubs for baths and cleaning WAS hard on the girls..

Maybe the popcorn kernels and crumbs from all the "forbidden" foods that crept into the bra harbored all the BC cells..

Too small a bra?? You know "they" say (whoever the heck they are) that most all women are wearing the wrong bra size..I guess maybe we were the women that went small and the non BC ladies are wearing bras too big....NAH!

I DID love the smell of that plastic doll hair And rubber cement and the smell of my mom's hairspray..

i hated when she used the old brown lysol to mop the bathroom..smelled like virus to me...cousre that was the only time she mopped with it LOL!

Kay, the guy you work with can't know everything because this August has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays.  And in fact, there are 4 Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Maybe he meant that in the months that have 3 Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays it is more likely for women who wear bras that are too small get breast cancer Winking

It can't be wearing bras that are too small. They don't make them too small for the size I was.

Some of us were little girls.

someone told me pumping gas gives you BC - if you stand by the nossel (SP?) from the fumes.           has anyone heard this? I do remember feeling extremely ripped off because they started the damn self-pumping thing right after I got my driver's license...I never got to say "fill it up, please"

I so totally agree notbuyingit! I don't know why I didn't think of that before! And maybe to take it one step further; when they started the UNleaded instead?... because things being how they were then, I can't believe Ethyl would allow it...knowing the possible consequences....something to consider.....hmm..

well they certainly won't admit it! #$% gas companies..raise the price again....

course then you are back to the ~ why more women than men? question...

what prompted my mammo was the water bottle article on FB - has that been previously discussed?

Dippity Do,  certainly used that.  I also remember using the rubber cement in school as a child loved that smell, it actually was so strong! Does anyone remember using this weird abrasive skin cleaner called Snap? That was another goodie from the late 60s early 70s.

Lilyn, The rubber cement....ummm, yeah...sniffed a little back then . But I also ate the Elmers glue! And Snap...yes, I do ThumbsUp

Please don't say it was my Dippity-Do-Dah!!!

Ah, yes, Dippity Do!  You could be on to something there...  I was a maniac with that stuff.  And rubber cement, I was fascinated with it.  Used to paint it on my desk at school and then roll it up into balls, put the balls together and make 'sculptures'.  And I liked the smell!

    Shocked
