Indomitable1, are you on west or gulf coast of FL?  Just wondering if you are in the area where they might be worrying about the oil spill coming ashore.

Hello all. I haven't been on in awhile. Last chemo was 4/5. Had 4 cycles of gemzar, avastin, and taxotere followed by 4 cycles of AC (1st 2 cycles had avastin also). Had sx 5/12-lump + AND. Drain came out 5/21 and path report shows no signs of cancer or pre-cancerous cells. 0/12 nodes.
Right now trying to keep exercising this arm (had no idea the AND would be so painful) and getting ready for radiation and 10 more doses of Avastin (on clinical trial). Hope everyone is doing good and will be checking in more often!!

    HELLO ALL,

Oh how I have  missed all of you and Yes, have had you in my prayers!!!

I am doing great, me thinks, any day I can get up and move--I am calling it great!!

I am still doing Chemo, but I feel good. I am  doing Chemo 2 weeks on and one week off, just started that this week---Herceptin and Navelbine one week, the Navelbine the next week, then 1 week off.  This is Ok, not to go in there every week.  I been pretty well since that "ugly stuff" I had in January.

Well I need a new computer, it is not  what I can do right now, had to put tires on my car, but I am going to get thereFrown. This was easier than I thought to come here and get on the computer.  I have a while so I will read what has been going on with ya---I hope all is well as can be for everyone.  So till next time, Hugs and Much Love to Every one.  I see a lot of new names, Oh I miss sharing---Everyone, "Hang Tough"!!

Amidoneyet! Congrats on completion of your surgery! Hang in there and make sure you check out the Lymphedema (LE) thread for ways to prevent LE and what you need to do/look for like checking in with a therapist to get baseline measurements, etc. Yea, for progress and your (+) response to chemo.

Patoo-I'm in North Central Florida. Still very concerned about that oil spill. Everybody is going to be adversely affected for years to come. Was trying to plan the Family Reunion Cruise with my husband when we thought about it! Will we even want to do a cruise including the Gulf of Mexico? Pray for all those whose livelihoods will be impacted by this.

Linda-so glad to hear that you are well. Glad you're getting a chemo-free week! And you are right...great is relative.  So you go girl!

God Bless and Health to all!

Indomitable1, my sister and I are visiting The Villages in July.  We are flying into Tampa and was going to spend a couple days in the Clearwater/St Pete area because my sister is a beach bunny.  Now after the Villages  will probably just stay at a hotel in Tampa and cruise about 55+ communities.

Indomitable1, thanks for your words of encouragement. I feel like I'm on the boards all the time!! I defiinitley have read through some of the lymphedema threads and am doing everything in my power to keep LE at bay. Hope all is well with you. I go to my Med Onc Thursday to see when I begin my last 10 Avastin doses and to Rad Onc 6/2 about starting rads....

Patoo-The Villages is only like 1 1/2 - 2hours south of me. I've met several people who live there and love it. Hope you enjoy your trip. I'm in Gainesville. You know that the time to visit Florida is in December (Oct-April/May) to avoid the extreme heat.  But you'll still have a ball-especially if you hit the beach. Prayerfully, it won't be too badly impacted by the oil spill....

Amidoneyet-You know that we're all in this together. Good luck with your appointment on Thursday.

God bless....Back to Biggest Loser to get inspired!

had clear mammo yesterday so I'm good for another 6 months - Yippee!

Indomitable, I was in Orlando last December and almost froze my buns off some days and almost every evening.  I'm a warm weather person so Florida in July shouldn't be too bad for me (that's why they make air conditioners in cars and homes/hotels).

     Similar concerns though.

    So again-YEA, PATOO!!!! Praise God!

    &

Caryn, I think I've seen some of your posts on tnbcfoundation.org. Don't post much there but read often. BC is an equal opportunist. We are all in the same sisterhood.

Congrats again Patoo. I pray that all our sisters are well and in good spirits and health.

Just checking in to say hi to all my sisters.  Indomitable1, I've done that in the past - typed a post and then, for some reason, missed hitting submit.

    Praying all is well.

Hey All! I pray that everyone is well.

On a getway to So. Florida for oldest daughter's graduation. Yes, I'm one proud mama.  OK- so 3 graduations (from graduate programs) to go! (Of course, my youngest is still only 9, but that's OK! I'm claiming it.)

Heard Jonathon Nelson at church yesterday.  Great service. What praise & worship. We're gonna go see Maxwell and my girl, Jill Scott, tonight in concert. Yea!!.

Peace, Health & all God's blessings!

Journey you are in my heart and prayers. I can't imagine your  pain...

I don't visit this thread a lot because I  usually post on my Chemo thread where  9 of us bonded and are still together trudging our way to wellness.

I had chemo but it was interrupted  due to insurance issues so I had two hair fall-outs. The second regrowth was initially transparent,  then white, then God knows what:lol

I  went to all the hair threads and found lots of information about re-growth though I did have to skip past the posts by some of  our  white sisters wishing their  curly looks like an Afro hair would Go AWAY yesterday...I wasn't offended... just oh, OK...I got it :)

I did pay attention to and hang on the posts  stating  that it  would 18 months  for  the regrowth to look like our old hair and that it was a stages situation. That was true for me stages now complete and  I would like to get a style but am not up to all that yet....secondary health issues making me a bit under the weather. I love my hair now, it's  thick   and healthy with compliments from my Oncologist...My virgin hair rocks:lol  Who knew???

    God Bless you all,

    Mina

Hey all! Journey-so sorry for your loss. Will keep you in my prayers.
Patoo-your trip should be coming up soon (or happened)-hope you have a great time in Sunny Florida (except the daily afternoon thunderstorm).

Mina-congrats on hair! I finally have an inch and a half to 2 inches all around my head (except one very thin side). I get lots of compliments. Glad I'm out and natural. Still deciding if I'll have my sisterlocks re-attached.

Had a concerning area that turned out to be LN associated with infection (unaffected side) but they found something on the affected side and with my "history" of "TNBC"......FINALLY (after CT with contrast followed by repeat PET scan).....Jehovah Rapha gave final diagnosis of scar tissue and thickened skin.

GOD IS......I Praise Him. Many prayers have been sent up for all of us and I continue to pray for all our sisters with BC. God bless you all.

Thanks All for your Prayers...My God...He is holding me and my family up!

Unfortunately, my brother had a recurrance of prostate cancer that went to his bone. He had been complaining of back pain.  I remember doing the same. Mine was Arther and Bursitis on my right side. I hope the same for my left...the pain has now transfered.

As far as my Brother, it appears to have been a heart attack....too much pain to bear after just having pancreitis and the removal of his gall bladder.  He's at Peace and my mother and I are staying with his wife and son getting her life in order.

I'm having my DIEP at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  With the renowned and totally fabulous Dr. Bernard Chang, one of the pioneers of the procedure!
