Spar ~ very nice looking young man. That would be how my older sons & I look like standing beside each other. Him tall & me short. Except there would be even more distance between us, maybe?

Still haven't seen a Cabana Boys on the beach to help me yet. But I got another load or 3 done. The lemonaide sounds refreshing! I think I'll go get some. Maybe later tonight we can all have a MIKE's lemonaide.  I hear it has a nice KICK to it. See you all later.

Sahalie, so glad your back to light up the board. So glad you had a good time. We are going to grab a bite to eat soon and pass out flyers for free meals.  On Wed. evening now we will have like a soup kitchen (except this time is spegetti (sp) set up for people to get a free meal that need one.  I think we will take a plate to shut in also (not sure about that yet)

When I get back will try to find a beautiful sunset and have a few "mikes" to relax.

chewing on a flip flop .  .  . of course.  Smile.

Spar. Your Spegg. feed sounds yummy.  What a wonderful thing to be a part of.

Can't wait to see your sunset.

OK up to change the picture from a red x.  Drats.

Girls of Paradise and beautiful hearts.

How about a swim suit style contest next weekend or this week what ever you want.

What say you?  Is it an idea?

    Swim suit Zen.

"The vigorous development of the swimsuit industry in the years following World War II was the result of a number of crucial elements.

In fact, a multitude of factors intervened to launch a new generation of swimsuits, bearing little resemblance to its precursors-the heavy wool bathing dress of 1900 or the 1924 favorite, the bathing slip with covered legs, a style which evolved into the dressmaker bathing suit of the 1930s and 1940s.

Look at those Beach Boys stare.

    *

Changing styles were in part the result of an expanded postwar market.

A review of bathing costumes featured in Vogue and Harper's Bazaar during the 1920s and 1930s reveals that "taking the sun" at spas along the Riviera or in Florida had simply replaced the earlier pastime of "taking the waters," engaged in by the privileged few with sufficient wealth and leisure to travel or cruise to resorts.

As a result, high fashion bathing costumes long remained the elite domain of the couturier.

    *

Let's show a little of our the couturier we come up with.  Whose game?

I'm gonna go for the vintage suits and maybe a modern thrown in for good measure.

Spar ~ the food looks great! I am famished. I gave up on the laundry for a while. I went on a boat ride in the lake development I live in. Just a small man made lake that my DH & I have lived in for 23 years. So we are out on the boat (a friends boat, our pontoon is not working) & my 2 youngest boys are tubing. They both took a turn & fell off.....

Then it was my turn & I did the same thing! Yahooo! (not a picture of anyone I know, but this is what it looked like when we fell off!)

I tired, but pleasantly so. Am ready to kick back & take a load off. What should I have to drink?

Julz, that looks like so much fun.  The boys are braved.  does the man made lake have fish, snakes, and stuff in it???

Sahalie, are getting ready for another trip??? NO No NO.  Who takes care of your little farm when you are gone?  We kennel the dog, the cat stays on the porch ( has a feeder and waterer)  The duck stays with the cat and we out enough food on the porch for a year and my neighbors check on them.  The grass waits for us.

We have a tradition that I take each grandkid alone shopping before school starts for some school clothes and to eat anywhere they choose.  Well, tomorrow is the 6 year olds time  and she told me she wanted to shop til she dropped.  She loves clothes and shoes.

Next Saturday is the 11 year old boy and he hates to shop but loves red lobster and crab legs so he will shop for me so he gets red lobster.  So lots to look forward to.

Since my 17 year old didn't come spend anytime with me this summer, I'll send a check to my son to help him with school clothes.  Its said when they don't think Nana is the best thing in the world anymore.  But he may move closer after his last year in school.

Faith, just to make sure I know what is going on.  Do you play in concerts? and also write books?  You just seem so busy all the time.  What a full rich life.

Getting ready to walk the beach home and get tucked in for the night and read a good book.

WOW Since I've heard the buggle call wake up..... I'd better get marching!! Love it, Jaz.

Oh I'm working hard to stay calm, in the face of diminishing hours available and lengthening list of significant things awaiting their completion in the next 48 hours. I'm so glad that I have this angelic beach and friends to come to for strength and resolve.

Spar...... you're really close to figuring out what on earth I do for "work" which is totally easy to confuse with "play"......... I write songs for young children and record them (original little ditties-- now have 6 albums of over 80 songs)...... then I've turned one into a picture book..... working on books #2 and #3 simultaneously -- tho they wait like your grass, when I neglect them.

THEN I trot about where-ever I get invited to present staff training on the importance of music/movement/the arts to young children -- how those are important to math and reading etc.

THEN I also get invited to present "concerts" of my music at libraries and such..... summer is big for library fun/concert season.... I think I had 17 or 18 concerts to present this summer.

We are working on recording #7 which has been commissioned by a company here in town. It's gonna be HUGE HUGE HUGE for a new project they are launching.

Meanwhile there's a company that has me on their roster to present at their conferences, too. That's who I was working under last week in New Hampshire.

Don't forget to keep your fingers crossed about my TV show concept, as that is going thru committee as I type. We are in the "wait" stage at the moment -- have no idea what that may bring, but it's exciting to consider.

Well that's the cliffnotes version. Thanks for asking..... my mom has a hard time keeping it straight and she's watched each piece and part unfold chronologically. LOL.

Now I have to go up to my office and prepare about 100 pages worth of handouts for the upcoming season..... they have to be send as paper -- not across the web, which is an ENORMOUS pain in the rumpus....... going back to cave drawings, but necessary for some goofy reason.

    xx00xx00xx00xx00xx00xx

I'm gonna tie ribbons onto my brain directly to remember what I'm doing next.

Oh. Tonight's the birthday party for DH for 3 of our 4 kids.... Denver crew not able to be here. And I said I'd cook. Probably haven't spent 10 minutes in the kitchen since holidays. LOL. Peanut butter sandwichs for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will be working on my relaxation exercises all day. hahahahahahahaha and checking in periodically to see images of calm beaches and sweet drinks..... Sahalie, LOVED my polka dot suit that you proposed. Here's me in Aruba in my polka dots -- awaiting my part of our couple's massage at the beach...... it was our one splurge. Calgon, take me back!!

    Quickly popping in.

Jaz, you can get some laptop batteries at Circuit City, etc., but they didn't fit mine and I didn't want a 3rd party one.  Then the adapter went out - that was another $100 - I seriously thought about buying a new laptop when I saw them at Office Depot for $399 since I had just spent $150 in the last two weeks for parts for mine.

Spar, what a fun hobby, and the results are beautiful.

Julz, welcome.  Love Mike's Hard Lemonades.

Faith, I'm ready to go anywhere, and even have my passport ready.

Shrink, have fun on that cruise.

Sahalie, I love that black and white polka dot bathing suit, now that I think of it, I have one but it's not that cute.

Goodmorning Friends (I'm glad I check my spelling cause I almost left out the r (fiends) LOL)

Sahalie ~  Love the pic, but I'll just dream of doing that.

Margaret ~ Someday I'll have a MIKE's, but for now I have to keep my mind on my own Michael, he's my 19 yr. old son!

Faith ~ WOW, what a life! Have you ever come to any Civil War towns in Pennsylvania?  Good luck on the show concept! I still watch children show's at my age! LOL!

As for the rest I'm still learning! I hope your enjoying your sunrise over the beach!

SPAR ~ I didn't forget you. Got your PM, thanks again. I found a towel to go with your swim suit.....

And for the ONE who likes Poka Dots, this is new twist for ya!.......

So everyone I've pulled up some of these...

Join me on the beach, I've brought some....

With plenty of this to go around!

see ya on the beach! Julee

    Goodmorning all sweet beach babes.

Faith, now I "kinda" understand more what you do and will keep fingers crossed for the tv show, but want to know the channel and time when its ready to go so I can watch with my grandkids.

Sahalie, I say YES to the bathing beauty suit.  I think our Faith has on the perfect suit.  It is nice that you have a good renter like that, what a blessing.

Julz what lovely towels and all the rest of the pictures, made me smile.

Margaret, I bought a brand new lap top right before we moved and in the moving lost the power cord to it so have had it over a year now and never used it.  Isn't that the pits.  I can buy another one from the company but its like 70 and I know my cord is packed somewhere in storage but too hot to go through everything right now.

Hope all has a good day.  I am leaving in a few minutes to take the 6 year old shopping.

Everyone have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS AND LOVE TO ALL

Who can forget Marilyn Monroe in a swimsuit.  She's the one who showed it was perfectly fine to be 'curvaceous.
