Iris, I got to this page and your pic was the first thing I saw  - what a nice thing to wake up to.  I'm excited about the trip.  If I can make it happen, I'd like to meet SoCalLisa and BrendaBMD when I'm in San Diego.  There is a Ghiradelli Chocolate outlet across the bay so they sell it cheap there.  We go every once in awhile to get things.

Jasmine, hope you had a good birthday.

Dotti, that's funny - staying at the dorm til the dye wore off!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day here.  Planting weather for those that plant.  We're expecting rain this week so guess those umbrellas will be used for protection from the rain rather than the sun but whatever, I'm on the beach.  Everyone have a good Sunday.

Iodine...that's so funny about your hair.  Me too.  I had a disaster with a bottle of peroxide when I was a freshman in highschool and I don't think I've had a natural head of hair since!!!  Next life, I'd like to go through my youth with my own color hair...it was a brown that I'm told had some pretty red highlights when the sun hit it!

Good morning...well we're really locked in today...rain falling and the roads so icy you can see tree reflections.

Last night my husband when out skiing on his own by moonlight and when he came back he passed stand of trees near our house and heard an unmistakeable "Hoo Hooooo ... Hoo  Hoooo"  He thought it was a great horned owl, and we looked it up on the web and listened to the bird calls...they matched exactly!!!  We also read that they are pretty fierce predators and will catch mice, moles, skunks, and even cats & dogs!!

Now I'm worried about what to do when the warm weather comes and my little darlings want to go out

    Good Morning Beach Beauties

Susan: I've never done a website myself but Karl is a developer. If you ever need any help with it just give me a shout!

Margo: Oh goodie, Hawaii in August and then Mexico in November! I can't wait! :) I would love to meet BrendaBMD, she is a great person and I share some things in common with her, also SoCalLisa is just such an inspiration to me. Both very nice ladies.

Iris: That picture is beautiful. Oh, Godiva chocolates don't last long around here. Neither do the Ghiraradelli or Lindt!

Dotti: That's too funny about your hair. What did dad say when it naturally turned red?

Candie: Where are you with your Mexico pics and stories? I bet you have catching up to do at home after being away for a week!

Jasmine: Are you busy this weekend celebrating your birthday? Missed getting a song of the day yesterday from you.

I'm with Margo, rain or shine, I'm at the beach enjoying the magnifigance and wonder of the beautiful sea.

Well, gotta get going, will do it all again later.

Wanted to wish you all a Happy Sunday....have a great day,I am still in beach mode.  I got an awesome tan but all I can show is my hands and face as it is too cold here to be wearing summer clothes.

Sorry about that owl picture...it was pretty spooky anyway.  I reduced the size.  I have a cable connection so I don't always realize when I use up too much bandwidth & slow computers down.

Posting pix is really not hard...copy the URL, click on the tree icon, and paste in it and voila!!!

Yeah Charlene, where's our birthday girl?!!!

    Hey everyone,

After the past few days, I need a nice relaxing day on the beach. I'm dragging my chair and towel over. I have my drink in hand and I'm going to do nothing but relax today!

we have tons of owls around the house.  I think we have 5 different varieties.  Unless you have tiny cats, I would not worry about your owl.  It is rare for them to catch anything bigger than small rabbits.  They prefer prey thay can carry like mice and voles.  We have never lost any cats to owls.  They will kill chickens though.

When I was a kid my mom and dad always had chickens, ducks and geese.  One summer night my dad heard a duck quacking up in a tree!  For those of you that don't know ducks don't roost in trees.  It was midsummer so it was still light.  Dad went out in the yard and there was a horned owl sitting in the tree making a quacking noise!  They had lost 4 or 5 ducks to the owls that summer and my dad always swore that owl was trying to lure the ducks out into the open....

Miz, we have owls here too.  I can hear them in the summer, at night, when we have the windows open.  I like the sound.  It's kind of soothing in a way.

I love the pelican, Char.  The weirdest thing.  We saw pelicans in Yellowstone Park!  They live along the lake there.  I  never expected to see them so far inland!

Liz, I need a day at the beach too.  It's still cold and cloudy here.

Margo, you will have a great time in Mexico!

    Hi Candie!

Iodine, that was a great hair color story.  Ever since chemo, I've left my hair it's natural color.  For the first time in my life, lol!

beach bunnies.... just got caught up on all the fun you've been having since i've returned to the 'real world'

keep posting those brilliant images, friends -- such an inspiration!

i'm now at the virtual, cyber beach in Houston! actually there is a genuine palm tree outside my hotel window! so i'm pretending i'm still in FL: LOL.

their parking lot is a stretch to pretend that it's sand.........

i had quite an unusual 'invitation' yesterday, at the conference i was presenting (Early Childhood)..... the woman in charge of the Easter Egg 'roll' at the White House is going to see if she can still get me into this year's agenda!! seriously. they have given away 22,000 tickets. time will tell if i make the cut. wouldn't that be something? she's hoping that i can read my book on the White House lawn as part of the festivities.

too soon to get too excited, but it's amazing to be asked!! will keep you posted. keep your fingers crossed.

so i got to meet my dd's new bf: fun! and since it's sunday, i get to celebrate another week in the pregnancy of my other daughter's TWINS -- she's now @ 29 weeks and counting!! happy days.

sandcastles, pelicans, and cabana boys for all!!

Debbie, we both got a kick about reading about your owl making duck calls.  According to Wikipedia, the Great Horned Owl will eat skunks, cats, & dogs...and I can't take any chances with my darlings..

Do you see a resemblance here?

I did...but the one on the left is a lot cuddlier.

We have all kinds of wildlife here...it seems to be an animal's paradise..

Where do you live Jan?  Deb, I know you live in Alaska...but whereabouts?  City, country?

I guess I could maybe get to like these birds I knew the kitties would be OK.  We heard a cat get killed in the middle of the night a few years ago...don't know what it was that got it...but it was so spooky because there was nothing we could do.

Enjoy your beach F&F...hey, when do we get to see a photo of you rolling Easter Eggs at the White House?!!!

    Good day Beach Bums!

Not so great here..........surprise!......DH went to get the papers this morning and couldn't get out of the driveway cuz of ice...........waited an hour and then took off...........what a dork.........he was gone exactly one hour....the gas station is 2 miles away..............don't even ask...he's home and safe!!

Jas:  How could we not know it was your Birthday????  Sure hope it was a great one!  HMMMMMMMMMMM  50 next year, eh??

Miz:  Glad you are enjoying winter..........can I send you mine?  I'm pure sick of it.  Owls are sooo unique......I would worry more about the hawks than the owls hurting your kitties.

Charlene:  You sound like things are settling down a bit..........hope you're starting to feel like a 'person' again!  Kisses to the girls!

Susan:  I remember you telling me about a website but as usual I don't remember anything about it!  Cliff notes, please!

Margo:  I soooo want to go on vacation!  Hawaii and Mexican Riveara!  (I think that's what I read!)  Been to Mexican Riveara (spelling?)....Liked some of the ports, but we went in January and the cruise was freezing!

Iris:  Love your posts..........always cheerful and keeps me up to date a bit too!

Candie:  My toenail-less friend..........glad you found us........I was tired of burying my toes in the sand!  Glad you had a great trip!

Jan:  UMMMMM......DH not romantic?  I agree with Charlene............I've seen the Man in person...............Very, Very Easy on the eyes!!!!

Liz:  Me too!  A day at the beach is exactly what I need!

Deb:  A quacking Owl...........love your animal stories from Alaska!!

Again, I'm missing many.................but I can't sit here to long.

Thanks for all asking about Mom.............she's doing pretty good....her mood is good and that helps alot.  (right Margo!)

Gotta go put my leg up...............office had me go to the Urgent Care yesterday........what a pain, but it had to be documented.  It's wrapped and braced and supposed to be elevated......................can we all say BORED!

Then the Doctor (who talked so long I tell all that he is my new Best Friend)....this guy was a hoot..............told me my restrictions, but didn't write them on my papers for the office!   Oh well............what's one more ache, right!

Thanks for rolling me over yesterday, Charlene...................liked what I was looking at when you did!

    Hugs,

I think Jasmine must be away hopefully having fun and perhaps celebrating her birthday!

Liz, nice to see you, you definitely need to take a break and relax.

Deb, that was a great owl story!

Jan, I know what you mean about the soothing sound of the owls. I like that about them too. I just don't want any flying around me. lol Wow, pelicans in Yellowstone Park! I wouldn't expect that either! They are interesting looking for sure.

Faith, lots of excitement going on with you! I hope you make the White House easter egg 'roll' cut! What's your book titled? At least you can still see a palm tree ... makes your transition back to real life a little easier! Happy to hear about your dd's and that the twins are coming along well!

Miz, good owl pics ... yep, there is a bit of a resemblance

Since Jaz is MIA I'm going to post a song for today, I think you'll all enjoy it

I was thinking of Cheri........anyone heard from her?  I heard that her little Grandson was having problems and was wondering how he is doing.

Okay...gimping slowly back to the couch!

Stopping by the beach to check on everyone but wont be staying long.  Went to Doctor on Friday for my chemo and was going to see the doctor because of a place on my face.  Well, after seeing him and revealing that I had alot of places on my body that I was just scratching and not paying attention, I now have shingles.  Just want a person needs.  I have heard about them and knew people that has had them and heard how bad they are and I will agree, they are awful.  I have some infected places also which is just lovely.

Ok cant drink with all the drugs I am on but please save me one cause I will be better in no time.

Love the wildlife stories!   We hear owls all the time.  Before I spread my towel out, I'll share my wildlife funny from this afternoon...I was looking out the back window and saw a deer running like crazy through our backyard--hot on its heels was our neighbor's little Jack Russel Terrier!  It was so funny!   Happened too quick to grab the camera.

ok--spreading out towel and waving down the cute guy with the drinks!

(((Amy))) - I've never had shingles but a friend of mine did and she also said they were awful. How terrible for you to be dealing with that on top of everything else! I will be sending you positive vibes for it to clear up quickly for you. Will you need to take time off work with this? Take care.

Candie - aventura palace is Gorgeous! I can't wait to see your pics! Regarding pictures, are you uploading them to Photobucket or some other photo sharing site first? After uploading to photobucket you click on the 'direct link' url and copy that. Then on BCO you click on the picture icon and a 'insert/edit image' box opens....paste what you copied into the Image URL box within that. Click in the Image description box to populate the rest of the fields and then click on the 'Insert' button. That should do it! If you need help uploading files to Photobucket or some other site let me know, I'll be happy to assist you there.

Junie - Wow, that would have been a great shot to catch on video!!! lol

Amy...so sorry for the extra pains this wekend. You never complain

so I know it is very painful. Thinking really good thoughts that you

feel much better in the morning and the meds do their job. Had to

include this picture of the goats at the beach! Now,you can bring all

the farm friends as there is a tractor waiting, too! Take care!

Dotti-when is your beach trip with your daughter and her friend(s)? I

know that will be such fun! Did she move any closer to TN or still

live on the West Coast(may have confused her with another person)?

Margo-your weather sounds great! I know your flowers are beautiful and

the sun plus the rain is the right combination. Spring is my very favorite

season here in NC esp with the azaleas and tulips.

Mizsissy-skiing by moonlight sounds brave. The sounds would be

spooky to me as I get scared of my shadow-chicken,I know. It must

be very pretty in moonlight with snow blanketed all around.

angelcharlene-loved the Bob Marley clip. I always love the pics that

change from b&w into colors and terrific animations! The pelican was

very neat! They have such humongous beaks-amazing.

Jan-as angelcharlene said,I would never have thought of pelicans at

Yellowstone. That is one place I want to see one of these days. It is

awesome,I know. Is that where Old Faithful was?

Candie-hate to lose posts, too. I did discover the clipboard on the gray

line at top-it has the printed capital letter T. I typed in that and it was

fine. Sometimes,I have gotten timed-out before posts were finished.

Can't wait to see your beautiful pics of Mexico;bet your tan looks great!

liz-great to see you and got plenty of towels and chairs here! Hope that

    your Sun was good.

Deb-your stories abt Alaska are always interesting and I bet it is fun

at your house. Hope your girls and dh had fun on their weekend snow

skiing trip. Thinking of you and all good thoughts your way!

Junie-I have forgotten where you live. Are deer in the woods seen quite

often? We have such a problem here in NC. So many have lost homes

and quite often killed. Guess all big cities have/had wildlife issues.

faithandfifty-congratulations on your book and the invitation to the

White House Easter Egg Roll. We will say good thoughts that you

are selected from the group. Awesome! My undergrad degree was in

Early Childhd Ed so that is a subject dear to my heart. Tell us abt

    your book!

Neesie-great to see you, too! So sorry abt your knee and I am glad

that your dr was listening and wrapped the knee. I love my dr at

Urgent Care as he is so good that I never found another GP. We,all,

see so many "ists" that I just see him for the colds and shots. I am

sorry dh drove in that icy stuff but guess some men do what they have

got to do! (some women like me do,too! LOL) Take care!

Susan-hey to you! You and angelcharlene have got some tasty things

to drink and eat! I think a cabana boy serving drinks will work just fine

    at the beach! Nice picture!

Hope everyone has a nice Monday and Presidents' Day holiday!

Junie, I can just visualize that little Jack Russel Terrier chasing a deer.

Char, what a gorgeous pic.  I will have to take the time to start posting pics again.

Amy, I hope you have the day off today so you can rest - you need to with shingles, and it sounds like you have them bad.

Candie, Char gave you great instructions on posting so want to see some pics...where you went looks wonderful.

Iris, you write such good posts.  Your post reminded me that I forgot to congratulate FaithandFifty on her book and invitation.  I read that earlier but forgot when I went to post.

I need the cabana boy with the drinks too.
