Last night and this morning it poured rain.  This morning I saw the biggest rainbow I have ever seen.  A few minutes later I read Charlie's post about the rainbow.  I will forever more think of CY when I see a rainbow.

we must hold each other up..... we are stronger together than alone.

blessings of courage and strength to all in the face of loss. may we trust in the caring, healing hands of our heavenly father, creator mother to restore our lost family members to complete wholeness. may we celebrate our friendships and rejoice in our ability to open our hearts to each other.

the images of beaches on this thread are evidence to me of an imaginative and creative Creator. i find a real sense of peace here, even in the face of loss. thanks for this outlet -- and to all who have fed it, with images of joy and delight, in the face of all that we encounter while on this road together

Candie, I was worried about you when I read your posts elsewhere earlier. I am so glad you are staying and the reasons couldn't be better. Big hugs to you my friend.

Margo, wow, that must have been so touching to see that rainbow when you did! Gives me goosebumps thinking it was from CY.

Faith, you said it beautifully, thank you.

    Love and hugs beach buds,

    Charlene

Let's stick together friends. We need each other. Cy needed us and we needed her. The Lord is protecting her now. The pain is gone. She feels the sun and the waves now and they feel good.

Thanks, angelcharlene,Susan and all of you who posted such comforting things on a truly sad day. I feel like you were describing,Candie. I need the comfort of friends who make time for each other and do it willingly and lovingly.

I am on the shore now and tomorrow,I will walk and think of those who are having difficult moments. You are such a great friend, angelcharlene to post to Cheri at the WC. I know how special it was to her and it is where many of us met.It was awesome meeting Cy there and where I needed to say good-bye.I love the rainbow image,Margo. That will forever be in my mind of the beautiful person.

To all of you who are joining and those beachwalkers like me,please know how beautiful and caring this thread is. The pictures are awesome and reading abt each of you is so much like my extended family. Thank you, angelcharlene and to all of you for allowing me to share a painful day. Mine is much less pain than many-just was a tough one.

So,see you Thur-walking and looking for driftwood or items washing up on shore. Thinking of everyone! Tomorr,I will do better with saying hello to each of you.

radiant sun thru the tall grasses, swaying palms, a gentle breeze, friends splashing at the shore, with a rainbow overhead -- what could be better than that? a new day dawns and we bring each other courage for whatever lies ahead. let's acknowledge our broken-ness, our inability to control the unimaginable, and rejoice in our capability to hold one another up..... in the face of all of it.

find us some great driftwood iris.

Hi girls, I think we need some sunshine today.  Faith, I agree - swaying palms, gentle breeze, and the big rainbow.  Char, seriously, that rainbow was the biggest rainbow I've ever seen.  My girlfriend pointed it out as we were walking back from the cafeteria at work.  BrendaBMD, don't worry, we're sticking together.  Iris, I love driftwood.

Good morning Beach Friends.  I know alot of events have many feeling afraid, heartbroken, and discouraged.  I don't have any great words of wisdom.  All I know to do is to keep going.

    Surprise song of the day!

    Hello everyone...

Shingles are hanging in there.  The face one looks better but the ones on my body seem to be a bit worse and I know they are itching more.  Thanks for asking.

Rainy day here in Alabama but we sure need the rain.  It has been steady all day long.  I shouldnt complain but a cold steady rain gets old.

I am still out of work for the week and I spent most of the day relaxing.  Yesterday was just a rough day and I wasnt ready to bounce back.

Hope everyone has a great night.  Hope we hear something from Deb soon.

Hi all of you Beach Friends,

It has been a colder but sunny day. Hope everyone has been able to enjoy the day without snow and ice being a problem.

Thanks for the lovely pics, angelcharlene. It has been great to see the lovely things in nature. I know many people have had a hard time and the threads with familiar faces and beautiful places really helps. Thank you for keeping the thread going as I feel many are treading and maybe like me just not exactly sure where the feet are at the moment. However,we will hang tough and be together on our beach walks.

Margo,I think that is an awesome idea abt the rainbows. I saw one a few weeks back and it was awesome. We have had such a rain shortage that I had to look twice. You described it so perfectly. Hope your rainy weather has improved.

    Thinking of you.

Jasmine-that was nice sentiments and we do keep on-at least after we may need a small amt of time to regroup. Hope your weather is not as bad as sev places not so far from you.

Amy-I feel like you were describing and appreciate the support. I read on another thread abt the strength of our friendships. You are so right. One person cannot destroy good feelings when the ties are strong. Hope your shingles pain is improving. Thinking of you,

Faithandfifty-I love the descriptions of your books and musical creations. I always loved when schools had artists-in-reidence visits. Great that you visit children in need of comfort and cheer. How awesome! I am getting plenty of driftwood for0 everyone. We make arrangements with seashells.

Susan-now that you mention the Outer Banks,I have begun noticing more photos from there. There is not as much commercialism as some beaches. However, all coastal property has become more valuable and less available around here. Would love for you to visit, anytime. Same with everyone, come visit the coast.

I am afraid I will lose my post;so,will read back and check-in later. Everyone have a great evening and see you for a nice moonlit walk-wear a jacket and we will enjoy each other's company.

Thank you,my friends, during the challenging times,it helps to have understanding friends and support.

Amy -- when I had shingles, my PCP told me to use Domeboro packs to stop the itching and dry the blisters.  It worked great.  You can get it at Walgreen's next to the stuff for poison ivy.  Its a powder you mix with water and soak a cloth in and then put the cloth on the rash.

    Hello beach buddies!

Feelin' the love.  I am seeing a rainbow in my mind and thinking of CY.  It brings peace to my heart.   Thank you everyone for your rainbow stories.  I'm sure Cheryl is smiling down on us from heaven.

Amy, I'm glad the shingles are starting to feel better.  It will be better soon.

Hi Charlene, I am thinking of the warmest beach possible, because you know they are calling for a nasty winter storm tomorrow.  Batten down the hatches, the kids will probably be home tomorrow!!!

I think I found a good deal to Florida (speaking of the beach) to visit DS in May.  Keep your fingers crossed!

I am trying to keep positive, because CY would want that for us.  We must always remember to see the beauty in life.  Savor every rainbow, smell the air after the rain, enjoy every flower and by all means have a good time at the beach!

Hi ladies. I've been reading about your beach and admiring your beautiful pictures. Like some of the other girls who've joined you I've had enough of winter weather too. I can't think of anything more relaxing than to lay in the sun drinking pretty drinks with umbrellas in them. As for now I think I'll take a moon lit walk along the waters edge and make some new friends.

Welcome Hazel, friendship is the key word here.

Amy, I sure hope your shingles are shrinking away. Just relax and take it easy, they just have to run the course.

Iris,I have been collecting seashells since I was 16 yrs old and that's alot of years...lol. I have crates and crates of them from all over the world. I didn't get them all personally, I just ask people to bring them back for me from wherever they go.

Charlene, you always have such kind words...thanks

Faith, it is so good to see you posting here. How's the chat room...I haven't been there in awhile.

Margo, sounds like the rainbow was so awesome

    Jas,beautiful song

ok,I had another one of those 9-9 days again. Cup of sleepytime tea sounds good right about now. Tho, I would like to be in sunny Mexico being here with all of you on "our" beach is equally as good. Raunchy weather here in NJ predicted for tomorrow...snow,rain,ice,wind...just a typicl winter's day. I will be here in the morning to take a stroll on our beach.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

Jas I think I will have to check out Walgreens and get some of that stuff.  The itching can really get old.

Haznut-this is a great place to hang out.  Welcome to the beach.

Iris-glad you are enjoying the beach.  Grabbing my jacket and meeting you for the moonlit walk.  Can't get much more peaceful than that, can you?

Jan wonderful advice about enjoying every moment.

Candie-9-9 days could get old real fast.  I'm glad I dont have hours like that.

Hello Liz-that was a quick pop in,,,Hope things are going well for you.

Shrink-yes there is a shingles vaccine now.  My mom got it yesterday after seeing me deal with them.

Well, guess I better hurry up and head down to the beach for my moonlit walk.  I shall return.

Amy - I'm sorry to hear you're still suffering from the shingles but glad the face one looks better. Happy you have the week off work .. too bad you have to get the shingles to get it! I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Jasmine - That's one thing I love about this place, how we can help one another.

Iris - I think today was a good day for reflecting, hence my image of the lone girl on the sunny beach. Boy, I could use that now with the snow coming down and the ice expected tomorrow! You are always so understanding and thank you for that.

Shrink - There's a shingles vaccine? Wow, I'm asking my doctor about it also.

Liz - always love your hidey ho's! Get some rest girlfriend.

Janny - Ugh ... I love my girls but another day off of school .. please say it ain't so!! LOL Keeping fingers crossed for your FL trip in May! I agree with you about trying to keep positive as CY would want and enjoying the beauty in life. Very nicely said.

Hazel - Very nice meeting you! With the full moon it will be a beautiful moon lit walk along the waters edge tonight!

Candie - Wow, I bet you've got some beautiful seashells! How are you doing back in the real world now, still doing aquatics class?

Barb - Are you back from vacation?

Margo - Not much surprise in who left Idol tonight huh? Although I really thought that one blond chick should have left .. the first one who sang on girls night.

Okay, grabbing my jacket and running after Amy to join Iris, Hazel and anyone else who shows up for that moon lit walk. How relaxing. It's a full moon tonight too. Sleep well all.

The thing about the shingles vaccine is that you have to get it before you ever have an outbreak. Once you've had an outbreak the vaccine is ineffective.  The good news is that my PCP said that most people only have the one outbreak.  Most being the important word here as I do know that some people have multiple outbreaks.

Charlene, yes,I do have some awesome shells.I always wanted to make things with them but never have. I plan on doing it this year..lol.

Shrink,I am gonna ask my PCP about that vaccine.

Well, it's really snowing here. As a matter of fact, I don't have to go to work today. We are closed....what a beautiful day...lol. I'm gonna do some fun things around here rather than what I should be doing.

I'll let you know what constituted "fun".

Have a great day....for all in snowy/icey conditions....please be careful.

Think I'll take a walk on our virtual beach for a bit.and feel the warmth of friendship.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Hi beach buds,

Popping in from work for a quickie.

Charlene told me about the beach, and that I should come over and take a stroll....so here I am, and it's nice here.  Gentle ocean breeze, sand squishing between my toes....

Amy - sorry to hear you're dealing with shingles.  I have no personal experience with them, but know they're no fun.  Hang in there!

I'm going to a real beach leaving 2 weeks from tomorrow headed to Key Largo for my first "real" scuba trip and I am very excited!

Hope everyone has a beachy (instead of peachy) day Cool

Donna - took care of the florist...... talked with the manager.  How's the wet suit?  Sorry couldn't help myself.
