...scootch over ladies--marking my territory on the beach! Never heard the term thundersleet before, but tonight I know what it means--it is thundering and raining, sleeting, ice is building up on everything! Hoping to keep elec through the night and tomorrow.
Don't worry--I'm bringing my chair, towel, sunscreen, books, and cooler--I'll just sit here in the warm sun with you all until this all goes away.

Good Early Tues Morning!
Hope everyone had a good day! For those of you in icy,cold areas please bundle up! It is beautiful here in NC;dry and unfortunately,fires are happening. However, walking on the beach is so lovely! Thinking of all of you as my feet make the squishy footprints in the sand!
faithandfifty...cool description of the pelican! I remember seeing those in Louisiana as a child. The beaks are awesome and what an interesting description of the golden sun! Enjoy your time there as it sounds beautiful.
Jan...those twins are beautiful and your niece,as well! What cold weather it sounds like you are having. Come on down here and visit!
Mizsissy...that snow sounds like lots of shoveling for someone(s).Stay warm!
Margaret...your cooking club sounds great! I know you are a wonderful cook and it must be fun to share recipes and new dishes with friends. Hawaii...now,that sounds like a fun trip! Your pictures were so neat on the last trip there and can't wait to see more beach scenes in August.
Angelcharlene...always loved that music and to this day,I have never seen the entire movie. I just can't watch all those parts! I had a college friend who was there when Roy Scheider and the crew filmed the movie. She said what a nice person he was and some of the town residents were actually in the movie-beach scene crowds. Thanks for a wonderful remembrance of a superb actor!

Junie, there is always room for one more on our beach.
Iris, every two years I get an "invitation" for 5 days/4 nights from a major hotel in Maui, also includes rental car and some $ off meals or something, and it's about $700, half when you sign up, the balance when you make your reservation. Of course, they want you to go to a timeshare presentation. For an hour every two years, I can do that. So it's a good deal, especially when I can fly for free. We just got one for 4 days/3 nights in Palm Springs for $150 and it's good for a year - so that makes a nice weekend getaway.

Good morning Beach Ladies! Happy Tuesday. On the run again today, got another conference call at 8 am so just a quick pop in to post the song of the day. I'll be back in about an hour and a half. Boy, these darn meetings have sure picked up.

Miz, the twins fight all the time. I'm sure when there are older, they will get along better. They are only 4 years old now, so they have lots of time to learn to live together.
Again, it's freezing here, so I'm thinking real hard about the beach. I've got my chair, my book, my sun screen, and my towel. I think I'm set for the day!

Could someone PM me very s-l-o-w & methodical instructions for how to post a digital pic to this thread. I think you'll appreciate the shot I took yesterday of the sunrise over the waves.... but it will take a committee to help me technologically.
Or maybe I could email it to someone 'in real life' and you can post it for me?
two more days here in the warmth, before heading back to the freezer....

Posting a picture:
1) Set up a FREE account on www.photobucket.com and use their upload tool to upload your picture to your album
2) Once the picture is uploaded to photobucket, click on the DIRECT link underneath the picture you want to post on BCO. This will automatically copy the link to your computers clipboard.
3) On BCO, click on the green tree-like object next to the smiley face in the message window toolbar.
4) Paste the link in the URL box. If the right click paste doesn't work for you then use the 'ctrl v' key combination to paste the link.
5) Click on the next box down in the little window and make sure the size or picture dimensions get populated. Then click the 'insert' button.

Iris, I wasn't sure whether to post the JAWS movie trailer here .. didn't want to scare people away from the beach! LOL There are definitely some parts in that movie that were hard to watch. But the fear factor is always the best part of a good horror movie and that one definitely had it! That's cool about your college friend's experience!

Good morning everyone. Just been lying around on my beach chair trying to get my energy back after last weeks performance schedule! Wed-Sunday with two shows on Saturday is alot! This time last year I'd justed started chemo. After the show Sunday we had a cast party here at my house so I spent Monday exhausted and hung over. LOL

Hi all, let's see what I remember.
Junie, that Thundersleet was really something wasn't it. So weird to have thunder, lightening and ice falling from the sky all at the same time. I have never seen that before. Something about a thunderstorm going on in the atmosphere somewhere above the ice storm. Hope you still have electricity today.
I was carrying a flashlight around my wrist yesterday waiting....but it was all ok. We have electricity!!!!!!!!!
Margo, do you find those time share vacations work pretty well. I went on one in Florida and we stayed in a real dive. I'd like to try one again.

Oh crummy buttons. My dh just came inside and said it's snowing. He's trying to walk down the driveway to put out the recycling without falling on his butt! If you hear a big crash, you will know he didn't make it. LOL

The bus is leaving Boca ..... we'll have to head down to the Keys or hop a cruise ship for further south, silly silly rain here today, howling like crazy chasing all of surfers inside. They were having a ball earlier.
Charlene: so glad that you started this thread. A sweet combination of angels, beach bunnies and the occaisional drink with pink umbrella.
Marsha: as a fellow "performer-of-sorts" I'm so thrilled that you've found the energy and enthusiasm for the show to go on! What an inspiration. I am able to schedule my performances.... so I've been spreading them out, to combat the lingering energy issues. Got any tips to share?
thundersleeters: I got to experience that phenomena first hand last winter up in northern MI. It seriously is amazing/freakie. I was holed up in a little mompop motel from last century. Funny. It was the one place in the little town that kept electricity all night!
susan: i think it's hilarious that the sign says STOP!! what an appropriate caption for such an image. be careful.
hope: thanks for the step by step primer on pic mounting. time will tell if i'm able to join your ranks of techno savvy. not even going to attempt until i can have supervision -- either from DH or a 5 year old hanging out at the pool

It feels like the beach here you guys. Oh yeah, it is the beach. I have the windows open. The breeze is just slight enough to make my house plants wave at me. The sky is as blue as can be and I think it is about 78 degrees out. Sorry all you winter warriors. I will take this weather over yours any day.

Marsha-I have been working my tail off the last 3 weeks. I have buyer's coming out of the woodwork. It is just the banks that are making business hard for me now. I was in a bidding contest with 2 other agents for one foreclosed home last week. The banks are playing games and I don't appreciate it. I lost that war by the way.
Amy-I always miss you too.
Susan-Bathing suit indeed. Only if it comes with a XL cover-up. From the looks of that picture I don' think you'll be needing a new suit anytime soon. Even if the picture was from last year.

Angel... thanks for worrying.. doing fine , but freezing so I thought I'd dip my toes in the sand for a few...Mom is home grouchy so things are back to "normal"..trying to tell her about new normals...lol..

I've been slacking off...........trying to keep up with you all, and failing! Oh well.....you all know I'm here and thinking of you!
I am soooooo sick of Winter...............were getting another snow storm right now........4 to 6 more inches.............that will bring our total for the winter to 70 inches!!
Move over all you beach bums...............I'm parking my fanny near the Cabana and not moving until May!!
Hoping you all are doing well...........promise to read back a bit and check up on you..........................Mom's keeping me a bit on edge..............Thursday I have to take her to a Hemotologist/oncologist....don't know what's up with that. Her regular Doc says she is Anemic...........no biggie.........can't imagine (well I can) why she is sending her to a specialist without trying to control the anemia first.By looking at her lab reports I can see where her hemoglobin and Red blood Count are low.........but not that low!
Someone roll me over when I get crispy on one side!!

BMD, I just read in the paper today where some parts of California are not experiencing the downward pricing - my area has gone up 5% - good if I were going to sell but that's not happening for awhile.
Marsha, do the timeshare things - I actually have a 50% off coupon at any Marriott or Westin or some big hotel (can't remember which one) good at any one in the country except Hawaii. It's good for another year or so. Enjoy your family this weekend.
Susan, I'm very picky about where I stay and I've only done nice places. Recipes I have. Easy is Jas' potato soup - 4 ingredients - can't beat that.
Char, I'll take that long tall drink.

School is closed again today. I'm hoping it rains and warms up hard enough that I don't have to go out and clean my van off .. I don't have to go anywhere before tomorrow so I'll wait and see!
