I loved spar's intricately designed hats, incredibly complex in design, and then all of a sudden there was socal's starflower and i was sent into a psychedelic swirl!!
socal, what are those twin quonset huts in the sunset pic? maybe something to do with gardening?
saint and spar--two kindred souls have found each other with their upbeat plans to get ready to guide themseves into whatever comes after this life.
julz, Delilah, the radio person, lives in my town and has a small cafe downtown. I read about her in the local paper. I hope you can read her name on the red coffee cup in the sign. Here it is:
faith, thank you for the lovely welcome back and yes, my world is in complete balance again. No more switching medicines for me!!

Sahalie -- sleeping on the beach in Maui, wow you were a wild woman. The sand crabs would have been the end of it for me. They might have thought you were lunch or dinner or the 'after dark' snack. Is that the suitcase I'm going to have to fit in for our trip in the fall?? Looks like I'm going to have to step up my diet big time. Don't worry though, I will fit in there one way or the other.
Spar -- thanks for that recipe. I'm going to try it this weekend. What a wonderful thing for your son to do to pay for the people behind him and for your daughter to bring refreshment for the men and women who serve. You know you've done a good job as a mother when you see your children doing a kindness like that for others. What a generous heart. Wow, loved your story about ol Mrs. Holder. Wonder what they saw. It must have been pretty scary if they jumped from the second floor!!! Also loved the Christmas story. You are a wonderful storyteller. You should check with the local library and see if they need a 'story lady'. I love your traditions with your grandchildren. My grandmother wasn't very 'grandmotherly' and all I remember of her is her telling us to get out of her house and go outside and play. She wasn't much of a 'kid' person and we made her nervous even though we mostly just sat and read books when we visited. Thank goodness we didn't have to visit often since she lived in another state. I'm not an 'outdoors' person and hated having to spend alot of time outside. Oh my gosh, I just read your Colorado adventure post! You sure made your guardian angel work overtime. I bet they needed a vacation from your vacation. That is a fantastic house! What will you do with all that room when you move in. You will hear your own echo.
Julz -- I think it takes a special person to work with the elderly in Long term care. The people who took care of others definitely deserved to be cared for in their last years and days. I'm so sorry to hear about your DH accident and hope that he will soon be whole again. Four boys?! Wow, you must be a very very busy mom. Of course, I don't mind you sharing music on the beach. I look forward to hearing your selections. )
Wings -- I'm so glad to see you back on the beach. It is certainly understandable needing a break. I hope this are going well for you and your family and that you are healing for the hard things that have been given to you and those you love. I'm not sure what keys you are talking about?? Your mustang? Why do you think we took your mustang? ALRIGHT>>>>WHO'S THE SNITCH! LOL
FPAngel -- holding your hand across the miles and wishing you a wonderful day. I hope this lady can help you get the health issues and needs sorted out.
Faith -- I love love love the kitty sleeping bag picture. How cute is that?! I loved the vintage swimsuit video. However did you find that? Too cute. I love art shows and how cool is that they were giving demonstrations. Sounds like my kind of fun. I'm so glad to here that you are resting, relaxing and spending some much needed time with DH. You've had quite a year with the babeez and all your traveling. How are the songs coming along. Here's wishing you much inspiration. Are we doing to get to see a picture of your scarf creation? That is a gorgeous picture of Sister Bay.
Saint -- how did the dog wash go? We have something similar here but we call it a 'flea dip' to help out owners. I'm not sure I would consider this a 'private beach.' Issues have arisen and been dealt with by the appropriate board authorities. This is a loving and joyous group and we are delighted to have you join us. I don't find it morbid that you are taking care of your final arrangements. I think its one of the most loving things someone can do for their family that will have to deal with the loss of a loved one. Its something we all must face since being diagnosed with this disease. Our mortality has now come to us face to face. When we are young and healthy we never think about these things but as we get older or get such a shocking diagnosis of cancer, its hard not to think about it.
Lisa -- I love the starfish flower picture. What an unusual plant. I don't see how you have the energy to play tennis! I'm delighted if I can finish the 30 minute course on the treadmill at the community center.
Celia -- its so nice to see you enjoying the beach each day now. You were definitely missed while you were taking a break. I've never heard of a Coldstone Creamery. I guess they haven't made it this far south. But that's not unusual. It took us forever to get a Starbuck, it seems. Hmmm...too cold for ice cream??? Wow, its in the high 80's here at night so that's just really hard to imagine. Then again, I can eat ice cream in the middle of winter so I think that statement is just wrong. LOL I love the Delilah radio show. She's wonderful. Have you met her in person?
Margaret -- wow, you are going to Maui soon! I bet you are getting excited about that. Be sure to take lots of beach pictures to share.
Biker -- that is a great picture of you on the bike. You look happy and relaxed. I think they call those native american spirits 'spirit guides' don't they? Did they ever help you in any way?
Shrink -- sitting here giggling at your granddaughter about your hair. Out of the mouth of babes. My hair looks crazy most of the time too. It never came back the same after chemo and here I am almost 5 years out now and its still a puzzle to me how to deal with this new texture. I'm finding that as I get older now though the less I worry or stress about it. Also laughing at the 'only snacks after dark' thing.

Sahalie -- you are our shining star on the beach.

I am LOL at your if your ever in a jam!!! how appropriate. Have missed you very much Jaz. I didn't make up those stories they were just told to me. I do wish I could remember some my dad told us as kids, I would try to write them up.
Margaret, I am so jealous. Still have not got to go to Hawaii and we could stay for free in a timeshare.
Biker, I am so curious as to your Indian spirits and how you knew they were there and if they finally just passed on. My first husband (kids dad) was full blood Native American and their family was so different than mine and so many different traditions. My son really took to his heritage and works in DC for Indian Affairs. Always trying to better the life of Indians. It is amazing that there are still so many reservations (son has to visit and inspect) all over the US. including the bottom of the grand canyon.
celia, I am with Jaz I love ice cream any type of weather, we just got some low fat sweetened with splenda cappacino choc. chunk and it is really not bad.
Julz, what can I say but I think you are the next best thing to sliced bread.
Sahalie, I have missed you much and you are a shining star, Jan has that right. You know how curious I am and It is driving me nuts (not yet losing sleep over it yet though) that you won't tell me if the is your picture. Come on be sweet tell me.
Love and Hug from A to Z and all furry creatures also, got to jump in the shower and get ready to go to inlaws.

Spar, it was a really weird thing about the spirits. Back in 1979-80 we lived in Phoenix, AZ. For some reason, I have been drawn to Native Americans my whole life. We moved back to PA and I started to work for the dentist I still work for. One of our patients, who had kidney failure, had a near death experience and was psychic afterward. He was sitting in the waiting room one day, just staring at me. He asked if I knew there were two Indian spirits with me. Uh, no........! He said they came to be with me when I lived in Phoenix. He had no way of knowing that I used to live in Phoenix. I swear, every hair on my body stood up!
Actually, I wasn't surprised that I had spirit guides. I used to see them all the time. I could see them in my peripheral vision. One night I woke up and one was halfway up the bedroom wall, just hanging there, looking right at me. Another time, my son was in my bedroom playing his guitar, and one of them walked out of the closet. He almost had a heart failure.
I started to not feel them as much when this same son went to college. Maybe they thought he needed them more than I did at that point. Who knows. Sometimes I still see movement just out of my vision, but I'm not sure it is still them. You all can laugh, but I really do believe in them.
I also have a Guardian Angel, but that's a story for another time.

Here is a beautiful beach, the only thing is the nudist to their run on it weekly and here they come
Oh well, to each his own way of dressing huh?
Biker, I too believe in spirits and I truly believe I have one since I have so many mishaps and have always been protected and when I had spinamenengitis and the doc did not think I would live, I had one tell me the greatest is love and gaining knowledge. This was in my late 20's and I still remember it very clearly. I wonder if your son has them now. I would love to hear of our guardian angel when you have time to tell it.
Sige, that is a wonderful picture.
Julz, I enjoyed everyone of those songs. Thank you.
Lisa, aren't grandkids wonderful!
Sahalie, ready for you to be home.
Foots thinking of you and praying for you

Jas...... i knew you would try........ what's a Notepad application?
(so sorry to be so slow)
0 -
omg! Those beach-running nudists are the funniest thing I've seen all day!!! LMBO!!!!
0 -
Hmm...
1) click you start button, then click 'program's or 'all programs' depending on if you have XP or Vista.
2) go to the 'accessories' folder and you should see a program called 'notepad'. If you see one called 'wordpad' that will work very well too.
Notepad and Wordpad are just text editing programs. Similiar to Microsoft Word but without all the fancy bells and whistles. I use Notepad for text editing on some of my computer programs.

application == computer program like word, excel, notepad, wordpad, etc.
