So nice to meet you Mary Lou!! Sahalie always finds the perfect flip-flops for our newest friends. She even took me back to Aruba this afternoon........
Biker Janny, I'm so relieved to hear that you're ok! Goodness that was close. And to hear Spar's story earlier. Whew. Spar -- that was too close for comfort.
Footie: I hope that you got my series of hugs that I sent from the MI beach.
Harley: your boutique sounds intriguing -- i love to shop at unique places, even when i don't purchase anything
Saint: is it cold down there as well? We've got our fleece out and tomorrow we may need woolie socks.
Dreamer: I think that your words are incredible in their strength and power. You've shared so much with these writings. You've really been very kind to share so much of yourself. Thank you. I look forward to more of your insight.
Shrink: can't wait for a report.
Julz: you're the one who we all admire. I can't imagine how you keep your days straight from your nights -- particularly with all of the activities of the boys. What's going on with your DH's surgery? Has it been scheduled? Is there a plan?
Spar: thanks for the new beach towel..... mine were getting worn, too. Whooohooo, you've got a new avatar as well! Goodness.
Jasmine: we're all wondering what fun you've been having..... or maybe your technology's had a fritz
Wingers: can you believe the shot that I got above? How lucky was that?
Sige: what's happening up north? Great weekend?
Margo: what's your favorite memory so far?
Celia: we went to a great little gallery this afternoon. Thought of you -- just seeing the front porch.
Lisa: where was that last pic taken that you posted? Gorgous, simply gorgous.
Sahalie: I love the new flipity-flopity avatar
hugs and pineapple to everyone A to Z, and all regular readers........... the weather at the beach is always terrrrrific -- come join the fun!

The beach is already getting crowded, we may have to find us a private beach somewhere for some peace and relaxation.
Goodmorning, and get up sleepyheads. What is everyone doing today on this glorious Monday? I am taking my husband for a colonscopy in a bit so will be back later on this afternoon. Everyone have a good fun day. hugs.

Julz, that school is closed today. They had some major damage to the roof and a lot of water got in. Thank God there were no injuries.
Sahalie, you are welcome! I love your new avatar.
Faith, yay, you got out on the bike!! We went out yesterday also.
Spar, oooooooph! I hope your dh enjoyed his colonoscopy! I like your new avatar also!
Gotta go to work and earn some dough, so I can keep partying on the Beach, lol!

Fog is in this morning !
You could hear a gigantic state wide collective sigh of relief here.
It won't last long as high temps are due the end of the week. I can say along with how
the east side of the colonies feel about rain and storms* here in California in our Northern
part where I live people are so tired of day after day of this heat* fires* no relief* doldrums.
Lisa* Once in a lapse of good judgment when treating my children to the fast food drive thru
(gack) I voiced the order request in spanish and french.
The guy looked at me with a quizzical look* thought for a minute and he got it!
He actually understood. Must have been the key words like Whopper's and Pepsi's.
We both laughed. I do that now and then combining for the fun of it.
I don't speak either fluently but enough to get by. The french are the most annoying talkers
on this planet. Enough to drive you nutso. They go on and on and must like the sound of
their own voices. Très ennuyant !
Spar* Congrats on your very pretty new avatar.
Cleaning and change can be fun! How is the new house coming along?
I have a question for you* Do you make glass wind chimes?
I saw one yesterday and thought immediately of you.
It was so cute and I love the sound glass makes while touching ever so softly
against each other making such an Angelic sound clean and pure sound.
Jazzy* I hope your computer didn't go kaput.
I know you got a lot of rain according to the weather people.
Hello to ALL Shining shells and sending wishes for a happy week with decent weather for all.
If I don't mention each shining shell by name it isn't because of anything other than I am
thinking of you all on the beach in a group of fun and frolic.
Beach treats for after lunch.

Janny* I'm doing some shopping online and Look what I found for you.
Biker in Paradise clothing.
100% cotton and features coconut buttons.
Head scarves to match and flip flop one of a kind biker boots.
Hope you like!

Quick jog down the beach with a bright wave and smile to all my Beach Bunnies.
Specific hugs to Saint and Footie at your various appointments today...... and to Mr. Spar, too...... and anyone else working with medical issues today -- may the 'force' be with you.
we're down to our last 5 days and there's a lot to get done before we drive away..........
my goal is to have a pic posted here by the end of the week of my 'mountain quilt'
optomistic, but possible.
Sahalie: I finally got my 'Mermaid' book and am tickled at the message, Thanks.
Also I just picked up a copy of SARK's newest. She is one of my "Sheros" and this one seems like it might also be appropriate for you, Dreamwriter, maybe Celia...... have either of you met her/SARK? She's based in San Fran. I'd love to attend one of her retreats..... thru Planet SARK.
I love the part about the ENERGY and time to really do it. That's always where the rubber meets the road for me.
hugs to each and everyone.......... Janny glad that you got out. Keep the paychecks coming, so you can continue to frolic here beachside.
Julz, Jasmine, Wingers, Harley: Squeezes to each of you -- with angel hugs of course.
Thanks Lisa.... I had a sense that was where the pic was taken. Was there as a child.
Margo........ splash for all of us!!
Shrink? Let's hear. Holding breath..................

sahalie, that is so funny that you order fast food in French and Spanish!! What fun!!
footie, hope you are doing better.
i am not very good at remembering what i just read and then mentioning everyone.
hello also to spar, saint, sige, wings, julz, lisa, jasmine, bikerjan, dreamer, heymoose, harley, and anyone else.

We are back Mr. Spar is good, goofy, and hungry. Glad its over for another 5 years (he says 20 years)
Jaz, is good just having to do extra work
Foots and Saint, how is it going? everything ok?
Sahalie, yep it was time for a cleaning and a new avatar. Actually my husband made a windchime out of seashells and put the crystal base of a wine glass I had accidently broke in the center and the sound was wonderful but it got destroyed in the tornado that took our home. That is another good idea for a craft though. I love to try everything and may try it.
Julz of the beach, come play in the sand and water with me.
Celia, can you imagine how in the world someone can craft something like that out of sand, it just totally amazes me and would love to sit back and watch someone do it. (under an unbrella with a good drink of course)
Biker, work hard, earn big buck, reitre and come play more often.
Found this treasure chest on the beach and will share with all. hugs and love to all.

I need to pack up a few of my favorite used and happily read books to take
with us on our winter travels as we like to leave books where we stay for the next person.
It's a happy thing to do and I've read many worn and wonderful books found on travels.

Celia and others who may not be familiar with SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy)
She has probably a dozen books -- posters, notecards etc etc . I have a handful, but my absolute favorite of all is:
I wish that I could read the sub-title....... it's so funny something about: for procrastinators and perfectionists yada yada (of which I am unfortunately BOTH!) it has truly been a HUGE source of support and strength.
I also adore Julia Cameron's work: The Artist Within et. al. of hers too. I have just a couple of hers.
SARK's I literally color the pages and add to the nonsense...
Back to work!

I am glad you liked the first two short pieces. Was a little shy putting them out there. Here are two more.... sorry nothing "beachy"
BAGS
There are shopping bags and shoulder bags and gift bags. This is always something in the bag. Sometimes it contains excitement and mystery. Sometimes it is filled with junk and garbage. A bag can be a biginning, a destination or an ending going no where at all. Sometimes you can be called an old bag, and that becomes emotional baggage. A book bag could contain something else. A bag could be shaped like something else.
And life is one big loot bag - full of toys, joys, gifts that uplift, dandy candy. No matter what you reach in and pull out each day - its a surprise, a chance to make it different from yesterday and less glamerous than tomorrow. At the end of life's party you want to share the joy and leave something to be remembered by.
WAND
In the wild, the heat lay heavily around the staff of silver. The light of the sun touched the wishstone and fractured sending bits of magic into the air. The key was to touch the magic before reality sends magic back to the darkness.
Magic itself is light and those whose heards are filled with light believe. Those with darkness see and hear only the reality before them. Magic dances across the grass and slips into the wind and laughs freely because there is happiness. Darkness sobs quietly alone.
As darkness raises teary eyes to the wishstone a smile blossoms as the key to happiness is discovered. Wrapped in sunlight, heart singing joyfully - magic touches each so that may know her and dance with her. There is no darkness now for the circle of joy is unbroken.
********************************************************************************************************
These were written with a writing group. The subject was picked for us at the last minute. The bags happened because someone was clearing a cupboard and had gift bags she was hoping that we would pick and take home.
The wand, I could not believe that someone owned such a marvelous version of a wand. And of course.... instant writing inspiration.

I enjoyed BAGS and WAND, It is amazing to come up with something like that instantly. I am in awe, dreamwriter.

Hi Beachi Kids!
The tearing-up-of-the-carpet continues & dd wants the puter for homework--so this is a fly by.........
I will begin xeloda in the AM---not happy about all the info we found in the literature, but plenty have done this drug b4 me & I will go into this praying/hoping/expecting/wishing for the best!
LOVE the pix & exchanges going on here. I saw a windchime made out of old flatware this weekend----what lovely sounds came from that booth! The silver had been pounded flat & was hanging from old silver sugar bowls & such turned upside down---sun catchers & chimes all in one! Such sand sculptures! Kinda sad to see such artistic talent used in such a fleeting medium...! Lisa-LOVED loved loved Arches!!!!! Dream-sista-girl--keep writing! Faith-don't spend all your time in your studio---take some time to say goodbye to Dorr Cty!
Hugs to one & all; A-Z! I hope to be back on schedule next week. Be well & stay strong!

Beach Bunnies....... we're just home from a fantastic concert/retrospective of Dan Fogelberg's music. So many songs from my youth. Somehow, I missed the fact that he died last year. (prostate cancer) A portion of the concert was a donation to that cause.
There was a trio performing. Saint, it was at the town hall in Ephriam.
HEY. Since we've had some foreign languages today, I happen to know that the word 'ephraim' is Moravian for the word 'faith.' -- Your trivia for today.
They told the story behind the song "Leader of the Band" and I cried...... now I have to write a long e-letter to my parents, so I must run.
sleep well,
your ephriam
(just checking if you were paying attention)
edited to add the p.s: celia I, too LOVE the polka dots, such a cute idea!!

Am feeling really sad tonight got a call from a friend of mine and her husband died, he was just in his 40's a truck driver. He must have had chest pain and pulled over at a rest stop and died in the truck. Her heart is broken, they had only been married 2 years. The world has so much saddness at time. She is asking for prayers to get her through this. See you guys on the beach tomorrow.

Good evening beach friends! I am up sorta. DH came & woke me 6:30 east coast time. I think I could of slept the night through! Anyways I'm at it for now.
Welcome to the Beach Mary-Lou! There is plenty of room to roam our wonderous Haven of Beauty!
Celia ~ How you find the most fascinating sand!!!! I'm like the guy in that bed, not ready to get up yet! YAAAAWWWWNNNN! Or out cold! LOL! But my thoughts about WHY he is out cold have NOTHING to do with being tired from work! !!! My interpretation of the woman in that bed, is how rude all these ppl coming on the beach making a bunch of noise & waking me up! SHHHHH! LOL!
Dreamwriter ~ I love your writing, creativity, & most of all your COURAGE! You have guts, to be able to put out your personal GIFT & share it with everyone! Yes we all do it here everyday whether it be through our crafts, work, pictures, special finds, travels & life, family experiences. Yes we do it with words & evoke feelings in what we say! But there is something in your words that is a true craft! When you can take ordinary everyday words & MAKE THEM A DREAM! Thank You!
Spar ~ YOUR BACK! I'm glad DH is O.K. but goofy! LOL! Obviously they didn't give him enough forrget it all meds, if he say it's gonna be another 20 Years! LOL! Let me know in 5 years when you need that help to push him in for another go round!
Faith ~ I'm not familiar with any of those authors. It does sound interesting, WHEN I have time I will have to check it out at the Library! I'll let you in on my little reading secret, shh! I read those romance novels Hundreds of them. My fave author from last summer is Robyn Carr, The Virgin River Series. I could not put them down! I read the 3 - 400 pg. books in about 4 to 5 days! LOL! In regards to DH surgery, nothing is set yet. His Dr. was on vacation & of coarse things are a slow go. Have had several phone conversations with the nurse practioner. She has talked about the game plan involving a cage, screws, & rods. Plus a discectomy for 2 discs in his lower back. An 8 hour surgery at least if not a few hours longer. He has an appt with the Dr. in a few weeks. I think we will get the whole picture then & be setting a date! I'm trying not to think of it. All his other back surgeries only lasted 2 hours tops! (((HUGS)))
Sahalie ~ I'm sure that was a pleasant surprize to wake to cooler weather of the fog! What are your winters like? I can remember having snows in the past of 20 inches + ! Temps one winter of -0 for a week as a daytime high!!! Brrrr! I hope the visual helps! It reminds me of the time when I was a teen living across from the town college frat houses & Art department. I was in 11 grade in High School. We had a Blizzard, 30 inches of snow & out of school for 5 days I think! When things cleared a bit the College students got real creative with snow Art!!! Snow men were not on their minds, more like snow Angels of a different kind! Interesting minds at college 25 years ago! LOL! Didn't you know MckyD's is all over the world in many different country's & languages! LOL! I wish I could taste those treats NOW! I'm having a sweet tooth attack!
Biker Jan ~ I hope they get things back to order quickly! I too am glad no one was hurt! It makes cleaning up that much more difficult!
Lisa ~ Hello picture Lady! What are you looking at through your lenz today?
Heymoose ~ Are you O.K.!
Saint ~ Only 5 more days & Order will be restored for your Carpet Caper! Take care & don't ware yourself out! Sending you 'Side affects' free thoughts. Wrapping my arms around you in Gentle Hugs on this next Journey you are about to begin! With Much Love!
Margo ~ Aloha!
Jazz ~ Your working too hard! But I understand. We gotta do what we gotta do!
Harley ~ Hows the clean up going? I hope you didn't have much!
Sige ~ I hope the Beach is finding you peace today? ((((HUGS))))
Foots & Wings ~ Thinking of you! Sending you peacful calming beach thoughts....
We could all have the beach in a room in our house! A Mural!
To All I have missed, from A to Z! Thinking of you.....
And to Our Angel....

spar,
Sorry to read about your friend's dh's death! That is so sad! An email friend of mine lost her dh on 8/13, he had cancer, stage IV, liver and bones, but I don't know what the primary type was. He was NEVER sick, healthy as a horse! She said that he had bloodwork six months ago, and they didn't find anything wrong with him... it was just a healthy check up. Anyway, he just started being tired, and the dr. started running tests, and sent him to the hospital, but he never got out... in less than a month, he was gone... so very sad!
Julee,
We didn't have any damage, and there was nothing to clean up from the storm. As my surgeon says, That is a good thing!
Hope everyone is doing great!

Spar. I am so very sorry about your friend.
Life and death amaze us all and baffles our senses because of our loss.
I know your heart is heavy for your friend and the family.
And Harley. The same sentiments to you and your friends.
Times like these make us realize just how fragile life is.
My heartfelt condolences to you both in regard to your friends.
