Stomping though the sand to find a nice sunny spot.   Hard to stomp in sand, isn't it?   Hard to throw a temper tantrum at the beach!!!   We're iced in today and had to cancel trip to visit one of the new grandbabies.   Don't know when we'll be able to reschedule.   So, I'm kinda bummed out.   Have found the perfect chair to lounge in--where's our cabana boy????   Ahhhhhhh, just a few minutes of sun, sand, waves, and sea air--I'm almost human again!   Lots of deer foraging in our yard--they must be getting really hungry.   Yesterday I saw the first Robins, and my 1,000 daffodils are starting sprout.   Winter is almost over--can't be too soon!!

Oh, your first openwater dive!  How exciting!  I've been diving since the late 80's and it's just the most fun you can have while wearing clothing (of some sort).

don't let any one talk you into going really deep--the best colors and fish are seen at about 35 feet, and you can stay down long enough to really "sit back" and enjoy watching the wonderful new world you will find.

Be sure to take something to drink after you get back on board the boat, you'll be really thirsty. (we did water first and then switched to beer when the diving was over).  Don't forget sunscreen, and try to wear a hat that covers your ears.  Zip lock baggies are great to have dry shirts to put on after you come back up and are taking the trip back to shore.

Be sure to eat breakfast and make it non greasy, helps prevent sea sickness if you're not used to sea travel in small boats.

Oh, you're gonna have a ball!  You and your buddy stay close to the dive master and let him show you all the good stuff to see.

Cannot wait to hear all about your dives when you come back!

    Now, pass the tequila shots!

Angelcharlene,I,too, will keep Cheri in my heart as losing two special people is so difficult. It is even more difficult when it is happening at the same time. Thank you for remembering and the special pictures and kind words.

Susan-you are a wonderful friend and so caring. You asked for kind thoughts to be sent Cheri's way last week. It is wonderful to know that in tragedies,kind-heartednesses and the true spirit of friendship is always there.

Sue-what a nice tribute for a friend. You are such a caring person.

Jasmine-can't get the songs here;however,"Cat's in the Cradle",was one, right? He died much too early-great musician.

Faithandfifty-hope keynote speech was not met with crazy snow. I am so thrilled as it reflects on what a marvelous writer/musician/speaker you are. I wrote yesterday and the post jumbled together as editing and a fruity BBerry are not good matches! LOL. Just wanted to say Congrats, again! Thinking of your daughter and the twins.

Candie-terrific on posting pics. I love the feeling of success as the computer is so wonderful when it does what I feel it should. Do you ever feel that way? The snow is hopefully, moving on out. Your pics of Mexico are awesome!

Junie-great to see you and hope you get to visit the grands before too long. I know that is disappointing for them and for you. Weather and winter-yeah,for spring coming!

Iodine-your scuba diving sounds great. I can only imagine the beautiful sea creatures you could see. It must be like when I watched Jacques Cousteau yrs ago. It was fascinating!

BMD-always great to see you! How is the CA weather there? I saw great photos of your fam recently. I loved the snow-capped mtns in the background.

Emelee-great you could join us at the beach. You will like this kind group of caring friends.

Amy-how are you feeling today? I am hoping the shingles are improving. I know you do not complain and just wish the meds take all the crud out-to-sea. You are such a great and caring friend. Thinking of you and all the families-human and animal this wkend.

Margo-hope your wknd goes well. I know how

Margo-sorry,button hit and editing makes the post all go together from tinykeypadville! OLO What I wanted to say was I know you do so much for others, too. How did your mtg go abt the non-profit charity group(s)? Was it Thur? Hope you are having a good Sat and no headache. Thanks for the support and kindnesses to all.

Janny, hope you are not snowed-in. Did you celebrate your thirty-seventh wedding anniv yet? Thanks for the lovely pics and great sentiments.

Liz-how are you? You are always there supporting everyone. Ready for a walk on the beach with friends?

There are so many friends out for our beachwalk. What a great group as I feel the support and kindness. We are there for each other-like the song says;in good times,in bad times...that's what friends are for! Sun has come out and grab a hat and jacket! We will be walking together strong and see the rainbows through clouds and brighter skies ahead.

Iris -- today's song was "Morning Has Broken' by Cat Stevens.  'Cat's in the Cradle' was by Harry Chapin.

    Hi angelcharlene,

Thanks for the beautiful scenes and great refresments! I noticed a second chair-so,I will sit with you and chat. On a day like today-somewhat rainy,a great friend and a good chat would be just the thing. Have to tell you that I saw cardinals all over my chair. I thought I was dreaming and remembered it was a sweater that is one of my favorites. Funny,we gravitate to the peaceful and natural scenes during tough moments.

There are rocks at the shoreline and I sometimes just sit or stand just to relax or think abt special moments and friends.

This thread has really been a port in some rough wind and wave-tossed seas-esp this week. Thank you and everyone else for the gentleness and kindness.

Hoping the snow is melting there. I love robins as spring has always been my favorite time at the coast and inland.

Grab a rain slicker and some old shoes and let's take a walk.

Iris, I can think of nothing more that I want to do today than to hang out with a good friend such as yourself.

Karl took the older kids snow tubing and Ava's napping so it's me time now!  My days of playing in the snow for long are long over .. just cannot take the cold.  The snow isn't melting yet but by Monday it should hit the 40's and be sunny so it may start melting then.

I've got my rain slicker Iris and all my shoes are old so I'll just grab a comfy pair!  lol  We'll look for cardinals on our walk while we talk about whatever comes to mind.  :)

Angel, I'm with you.  I never even liked playing in the snow as a kid.  I hated when my hands and feet would go numb.  Love the cardinal picture.  When I see alot of redbirds, that's when I know that spring is on its way.

Cardinals are beautiful.  They are the state bird for Illinois.  They are here year round.  But when it snows - they stick out in such a magnificent way.

For us here in Chicago, the bird that is a sign of spring is the red breasted robin.  The first sighting is a good feeling.  Always has been since I was a child.

I heard a Spring bird sing this morning.  First time in many moons.  It was a great feelings.

Blue:  When I lived on a farm a few years back, I fed the Blue Jays peanuts.  I learned at least 7 different calls or songs.  They would sit outside my house and cause me for peanuts.  Got to see the moms teach the babies to fly.  Thanks for that nice memory.

Rain finally stopped-glad so many friends could join our beachwalk.

Angelcharlene-lovely picture of the cardinal. It is perfect for today-scarlet red to protect its less showy mate. I think nature has always had friends/mates looking after each other. Guess that is why we like nature and see its beauty on our beach thread. Thanks for accompanying me this afternoon. Glad we had a great group of friends to brighten our spirits.

Nicki-our state bird in NC is the cardinal. I think I had seen that abt yours. It seems we see lots of cardinals around the coast. Guess they are in many areas of the US.

Bluedahlia-glad you joined us here. This is such a great thread. Glad you found us at the beach. Hope your day goes well.

Jasmine-I agree abt the cold weather. Much prefer beach/shore and sunny, warm spots. However, snow scenes are lovely in photos.

Angelcharlene,I am with you abt the cold. My fingers and toes cannot handle the cold anymore. We will stay nearer the warm areas. I did enjoy it at Audrey's age and built snowmen. Now,I prefer the sand castles like the lovely one a couple of pgs back on here.
