Good Monday morning Beach Ladies.  I know, another week started.  Time to get those feet moving and get going. Just remember there's a party waiting at the end of the week for you.

    Surprise song of the day!

AlwaysHope, another perfect song. Where do you come up with the ones are just right? I can never think of any off the top of my head.

I'm finally getting my sleep pattern back in order so thats nice.

i want to thank all of you who welcomed me here. It does feel like home. I'll have to take notes so I'll be able to talk to each of you like the rest of you do. This is the only thread I post on that does that and it's a nice touch.

Getting beach chairs lined up I hear it's going to be scorcher at the beach today much different than here at home. So, I'm opting for the beach! I intend to relax and enjoy new friends, good music and sunshine. This is the life!

Good Morning:  Snow storm headed our way here in Chicagoland.  Starting out with sleet this afternoon and by tomorrow morning will have 6 or more inches of snow.

So Im plan on spending a nice day at the beach.  Where the weather is warm and the sunshine sparkles on my shoulders.

Iris:  Your words are always eloquent.  I was thinking though, since I have been here since July 2005, have over 6,000 posts, and come here everyday - why you thought it necessary to remind me who started what thread.  I think this is a great place to come.  There are many friends that come here and I want to enjoy spending time at the beach.  Its a good get away and relaxing too.

Well - time to hit the showers.  Have a great day.

Morning girls, well the storm that was supposed to hit didn't pack nearly the punch they were anticipating.  It was howling yesterday and did die down and it did rain but nothing like the storm we had last month.  I coulduse the beach though.

Char, give me a few months and that will be me in that hammock!  I'm still hoping I can make it to Disney World this year.  Jacob starts middle school and I think it's on a traditional calendar year and Jocelyn's is on a year round schedule.  I saw the video online because I missed it the other night.  She is a twit but she is still a good choreographer.

Jas, I can't think so early in the am so I'm impressed that you come up with a song of the day every day.

Hazel, I'm up early but you beat me.  Thanks for lining up the chairs.  I just want to be lazy today.

Nicki, stay warm in that weather.  I don't think Iris meant anything with her comment to you, I think she was "making conversation."  She's right - it is nice at the beach.

Hope all have a good day.  I edited this for my typos - can't type with longer nails.

    Happy Monday!

It is real sunny here on the coast. We could use rain as water rationing still is going on in NC. The water is so blue and not as cold as the weekend.

I just like to converse as most of you know I am a big talker. So,thanks for allowing me to walk along and talk. For me,I just try to connect with folks-guess it was all the yrs in pub schl teaching. I am just happy to be on threads and have friends who help us through the great and sad times.

Everyone is always welcome and the beachball game was great-cyber is always fun!

Best to all-may this be the start of a less sad week.Thinking of the ones who lost family members last week.

Marsha-awesome pics! You look great and love the way your hair looks. I always wanted mine to 'flip' and it was straight. That looks so great and what a perfect costume and group. Have a super visit!

Have a nice afternoon, everyone! I will be back later this aft and say hello to ea of you. A beach is a perfect place for everyone-my opinion as I spent many hrs there in high school. See you in a few-

My kids are on school break, so I'm jumping on quickly while they get ready to go out. We're having a heat wave...temps in the 40's today!! Tomorrow and Wednesday we are supposed to get snow again, though.

Nicki, I see that you are having the same lovely weather that we will be getting. If we have a couple more snow days here, we will be in school until the last week of June! If I have to wear my bikini to school, that will scar the kids forever.

Susan, how did you end up with Casino Girl's hat? I remember wearing it, but I'm not sure when I lost it. You didn't mug me, did you? LOL! I'm keeping Cheri in my thoughts. I can't imagine how hard this is for her.

Marsha, you look too cute in your costume!! I really wish that I could have seen your play.

Margaret, if you are looking for someone to go to Disney with you, I am always available.

Bluedahlia, I miss Mr. Depp, but I like your new avatar! I can't remember who it is right now, but I know that someone else on BCO has an avatar of a Hollywood starlet. I love those old films too.

Oops..kids are ready! Hi to Jas, Hazel, Donna, Iris, Barb, Candie, Jan, Faith and anyone else I missed.

    Hugs,

Aaaaaaaaah, beautiful!!!!   That must be me on my little speed boat, lol!

Beautiful day here today.  Warm (40s) and sunny.  We are supposed to get more nasty weather tomorrow into Wed.  Of course I have an appt. with my breast surgeon on Wed., so I hope it's not snowing.

Howdy Charlene!  You are probably having the same nice day that I am.

Gus, you are off with the kids all week?  Whew!  Good luck! LOL!

This beach thread is like a guilty pleasure. I usually read about serious issues on here and post on those issues but I'm so glad I found this place. Everyone gets along so nicely and I do love the pictures and the music. A pretend beach is certanily better than no beach at all especially in the winter.

Attempt #2: Tried to be as clever as Iris and mention everyone and got blown off by checking back to be certain about details. Will allow Iris to continue as scribe and will just attempt to keep up: LOL!!

I want you all to know the great news we've gotten regarding the twins-in-the-making!! DD, Sarah is just back from her state-of-the-art 3D ultrasound and they've determined that the 2 are not nearly as far apart in weight as once thought!! HALLELUJAH. Also determined definitively that baby A is a boy and baby B a girl. Also THRILLED to learn that they could tell that there is no Down Syndrome, no cleft palate etc etc..... could also determine that all 4 chambers of both hearts are completely functioning. Plenty of fluid around each.... she was told to continue doing what she's doing!!

So now Scott can leave tomorrow for the Air Force with a much lighter heart and I will take over BIG time and we'll return to one day at a time mode, rejoicing with each additional day's growth!!

Hazel: glad you've appreciated out witty conversations and the talents of the others audio & visually

Char: nice that you snapped that volley picture of us in action! We really showed Pitt, McG and Cat Stephens who's boss. Too bad they didn't have Lionel's talents, they might have scored that last point.

How are the shingles going this week? Know that I'm one who's been there and done that and wishing them away from here.

Congrats to all snow-day moms who've had extra fun with their kiddos at the feet of mother nature. I can't believe that some of you have bulbs peeking and birds singing. NOT here. Will trust you to describe such delights in detail.

Candie: your recent pictures are really amazing. Must have been hard to return.

Biker: can't wait to have you help me thru the twins infancy. Any suggestions for the preparation phase?

Better submit while it's still on the screen.

I've ordered one of those sweet concoctions with the pink umbrellas for each of you!! Happy grandma dancing.

Let's start the conga line and then maybe we could have an afternoon of samba lessons down at the pier.

Hi-got my washing done-yeah! I am ready to chill for a few minutes.

Hazel-so right abt hanging out here with a virtual beach. Since I have not met any of you in real life,it is like virtual strangers who can become cyber buddies.

Nicki-did you say sleet and more snow? We have had none here and it must be really cold there. It is sunny here and upper 50's. The weather forecast is for 70 degrees on Thur. I hope your dog,Mister is doing well. It always reminds me of schl and hearing tge teachers say mister and miss to the kids-great memory.

Sue/Gus-the week seems early to be out for schl vacation? Is this a yr-round schl or I may have missed you saying that. I bet your kids enjoy the break and like most are ready for schl to start when vac ends? I know most adults are ready! LOL. So,do you have projects in mind for the week? I am thinking more the kids may hv projects lined-up.

Margaret-does Jocelyn like the yr-round schedule? I nev taught in a schl that had it and heard so many teachers say they loved the winter and fall breaks. Glad that there was not major damage from the storms there. Thanks abt the BBerry typing-I am frustrated,at times, maybe AT&T will come into this area-one day.

Jan-lovely pic and it looks like À great place to be. I am imagining that I am there right now. Glad that the temps are warmer there.

Susan-nice pic, too. Glad that you checked-in this aft. How goes work? I think I saw that this was the same place where you worked before, right? Have a nice evening. I would like to go to Tulsa. I hv nev traveled in Oklahoma-I was in Texas. Would love to see Tulsa.

Bluedahlia-I love old Rita Hayworth films! Recently,I got "Cover Girl" and what a beauty she was. Her daughter was so caring when Rita was so sick;lovely lady. Seems like she was a Princess by last name Kahn-may be wrong.

Candie-meant to write goldfinch yesterday instead of yellow finch. Where I grew-up was the yellow hammer-state bird Sorry,I got the name confused. How is the weather there today? Did you watch the Oscars?

Angelcharlene-thanks for the lovely pic. Since I am on the BBerry,I will go back later and see them on a bigger screen-all that hv bn posted here at bco. Thinking of your niece's birthday today. My condolences on such a lovely lady and what a nice tribute with the lovely angel. Your Shannon is such a loving remembrance as you see her grow and change each day. Thinking of you!

Marsha-funny lady! I knew it was a wig as I read the Chemo thread and saw your lovely pic posted there in the lobby. Your friends are awesome and love all those photos. Have a great time there in your performance(now) and the beach tomorr. Love you and so proud to know you!

Hello to all! I am looking at the water-not too many waves this aft. There are few boats during the week-retired fishermen who brave the elements of the coast. Have a good evening, all you cyber beach friends whom I would love to meet and feel we are closer than a virtual friendship. Maybe we could all really meet-Marsha,one day,I will be looking for the real FL beach, again.

Hi there, faithandfifty! Congrats abt the twins-terrific news! I am so happy and loved the few twins I taught in schl-so neat seeing the bonding and relationship that some siblings did not seem to have. Funny you said that abt me and the posting-lost three or four and just quit one day. I don't have Word,so I just try to go fast and rely on memory. Sometimes,I really am confused-but,there are such creative people here. I feel I know them even cyber volleyball feels more real than housework.

    LOL

Jasmine-nice picture and looks like Capt Stubing would be a great one for here. I watched that show all-the-time. I still can hear the theme in my mind and another fave "Fantasy Island". That had great beach scenes, too.

Time for afternoon stroll-marina had most of the sailboats today. They did look pretty in the slips with sun shining on blue water.

    Enjoy the evening,beach buddies!

I hope I'm not intruding I've been all over the boards but this one is sure relaxing. I'm going to attempt this picture.

Another pop in from me .. I will come back tonight when I have more time to post.

I read quickly so I do want to say a big Yea to Faith about the twins ... that is great news!  How awesome, a boy and a girl!

Susan, dogs on the beach are so cool.

Also I loved The Love Boat and Fantasy Island ... they were on back to back.  How fun and appropriate for this Beach thread!

Just spending a lot of time reflecting on life today.  My niece would have been 28 today had she not passed away when she was 21.  Here is a piece of her artwork ... she was aspiring to be a great

artist.  It's the Pisces fish from the Zodiac.

The angel I posted here reminds me of her. Shannon was a real free spirit and is probably swimming with the dolphins.  She loved to have fun and was very compassionate.  I really miss her.  I know she's in a better place though.

One of my favorite drawings she's done and the only one I have in digital format! It's really nice to see you here! I hope you come often. Thinking of you and will be with you on Wed.

((Angel)) - I'm so sorry about your niece. Thank you for sharing her artwork with us.

Colleen - I'm thinking about you and my offer stands. Even if you just want some company at your appointments, I'm only an hour away from Boston.

Nicki - See what you can do about keeping that storm from moving east, please!!!

Bluedahlia - I remembered who the other old movie buff is -- Gina! When I first saw your avatar, it made me think of her Hampton's avatar of Audrey Hepburn. Chemo has turned my brain to swiss cheese, but eventually I remember things! LOL

I need to go feed my brood. It's nice to have a little extra time this week to post! Enjoy the tropical sunset and the warm breezes, ladies!

Hey beach bums, heading to Disney tomorrow with the feb chemo girls and then to the beach house for a couple of days.  I can't wait!  I've met several gals from BCO but this time, spending 3 days doing a Broads Days/Nights Out sounds fun!!  That would be a BDNO, I guess.LOL

Charlene, your niece was a beautiful soul and I know you miss her.

Colleen, hey girl, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  We are here for you.

    Faith, congrats on the twins!!

Susan, no not Tulsa, but Orlando!  Don't you want to visit with Mickie??

OK, please let me say, I am not good at addressing everyone on every post I make.  I have made alot of friends here at BCO and there is NO WAY I could address everyone, every day.  I just do not have the extra time for that.  It does not mean I don't like you, or whatever, I just can't do it.  And I refuse to feel bad about it.

Hugs to all, new and old alike........... Marsha

So sorry about your niece, Charlene.  That is sad to lose one so young.  Her artwork is beautiful.  How tragic to lose one so talented.

Nicki, yes, please don't send the storm our way.  Although we are going to get it tomorrow into Wed.  Poop!  It is supposed to change to rain though.

Gus, you're right.  I couldn't remember who it was with the vintage actress avatar.  It is Gina.

Marsha, have fun with the Feb Chemo gang.  It sounds like a great time!

Faith, it's a snap being a grandma to twins.  I love every minute of it.  They are so different!  You expect they will be the same and nothing is farther from the truth.  The older they get, the more different they become.  You will absolutely love it!

Gotta go now.  Enjoy the warm tropical breezes and the sun on your faces!

No one is home right now, dinner is simmering on the stove so I have time to respond, or a few minutes anyway.

Char, those waves look like what was happening around here this weekend.  Weather is going to be great this week.  I haven't checked yet but I think hubby is at the driving range right now.

Marsha, how cool that the ladies came to see your play and got a beach house to boot!  You all look wonderful.

Susan, I was never good at volleyball but I do like playing it.

Iris, I like walks along the beach.  I think year round school is good because there is less time to have to relearn from the breaks, but it's hard to find daycare.

Gus, heat wave huh?  I'll keep you posted on Disney.

Blue, love the avatar.  My nonprofit fundraiser this year is An Evening with the Stars and it's Hollywood Glamour.

Jan, you sure that isn't me on a jet ski?

Hazel, it's nice to have someplace that is fun to go to.

Jas, I'll look for Capt. Stubing on my cruise to Mexico.

Faith, great news on DD.  Smores sound good to me.

Char, hugs to you on this sad anniversary.

    Colleen, are you doing ok?

Nicki, it's not our storm you're getting - ours petered out, lots of wind but not a lot of rain.

    Got to go read.
