When pigs swim. There's always something wonderful happening here at the beach. So glad to read so much good news, see so many fantastic images and see our commradarie growing stronger and stronger.
Got back safely from my BIG adventure yesterday. What a hoot, I'm driving across the state to get there and look up thru the fog of the snow-ie hills and see an Amish buggy clunking around the bend in the road. Such an amazing juxtaposition..... me at 60 mph and him on one horse power.
Today was dd's doc appt & ultrasound. ALL IS WELL!!! Her blood pressure continues to be terrific. They are predicting that today the babies are each approaching the 4 pound mark. Little Trevor appears to be 3 pounds 15 ou and little McKenna is predicted to be 3 pounds 9 ou.
Hallelujah!! Happy dancing for sure. They've made her next appt for two weeks from now. We had a nice lunch while out on the town.
Jaz: I've made a tad bit of progress on the mural, but this week I've actually been at work/on the road etc. I plan to go crazy this weekend with the paintbrushes. Can't remember if I told you that I painted a sea serpant in the moat and have a princess in the tower.
must go get the wonderboy from a late nap, or he'll never sleep tonight.
love from A to Z...............

Neesie, I am laughing my ass off about your pics!! I remember when you told the stories about the snake and the dryer door, lol!
Pigs at the beach!!!! That is great!
Great pics, Angel!
Hey there to you, Jas!

Hi
Hope you all have had a good Friday. Tomorrow long day for me. I am taking my mom and dad into NYC to the Opera. I have a friend coming with me. We will walk around the city while they see the opera. It was part of their Christmas present from me,DH and my sisters and bil's. My mom has always wanted to see an opera. She will be 80 this year and she is just so thrilled. My dad is not thrilled but he goes wherever mom says he has to go...lol. Then tomorrow night I am going to a St.Patrick's Day dinner dance with some friends. We go every year. It is nice, dinner, open bar (yeah!) good music to dance to and this year they are having irish dancers. Didn't make it to my aquacise class again today...just couldn't get out of bed...I think that Jas is right...it's too damn dark in the morning. Before we put the clocks ahead I was up and at'em every day.
Jas, cool song..wow..haven't hear that in a long time. "working in the coal mine, going down,down,down,..." and very cool about the program you downloaded. Good to know about that.
Grace...oops I mean Neesie..lol..Church Fish Fry always good.We have those in NJ too. Oh,I remember...didn't you have a snake in the dryer last year?
Faith,so glad all is well with your DD and babies. 4 lbs...that's awesome.
Amy,how you doing.
Charlene,Jan,Sahalie and anyone I missed..hello to you.
Ok,gonna get my stuff ready for my kiddies at CCD Sunday. No time tomorrow. Got a cute Easter project for them to do. We usually don't have CCD on Palm sunday, but we missed 2 Sundays due to snow. It's ok, cause I just love it.
Have a great night on the beach.
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

Okay, the one time I don't use wordpad and I lose my post! I'm just not in the mood to retype it again so I'll catch up with you all in the morning!
I do want to thank Iris-angel, my dear friend, for sending me the tulips with the bunny and chocolates today! You are so thoughtful and generous to have done that! I'm sure I didn't mention in this thread that today was my one year anniversary of my dx and it's been bugging me somewhat. Iris, you are such a good friend and thank you for always being there for me. The tulips are absolutely Gorgeous in their pink vase! I Love them, and I Love you too my friend.
Goodnight everyone and have pleasant dreams of sweet beaches!

Happy Early Sat Morning,
Hope that Friday was a good day for everyone. It was great weather here(sorry for anyone that had crummy). It was sunny and warm;very dry here-so,it is always a trade-off as we have limited water usage and have to ration usage. Although, the rains have helped.
Hi angel-glad that your day was good! The first yr is always the hardest-JMO. Then, the days seem like they run together somewhat! Thanks for all the support and the kindnesses as they are so appreciated! Love you, too! It seems that we have lots of acquaintances-but true, cherished friends...priceless! Have a great Sat! What an awesome picture and I love those intricate designs!
Neesie-how are you and love those pics! I remember that snake near the garage last yr and the dryer door! You are so funny and I appreciated that today! Have fun with the family tomorrow and tell us how to do the maple stuff. Now,how abt that great scientific descript? Since I retired from teaching elem science I use all those high-brow terms:stuff, junk, mess, etc. Pls don't tell your little grand-daughter as she is so far ahead of me! My brain is like mush now...maybe it always was! Ha! Good luck on the dieting and you can do it! I just saw that pic of you and dh not long ago! Great couple!
Margaret-saw your post and hope that your Friday was a good one! Do you have any special plans with the family and grands this wkend? Our weather reminded me of yours today! I had to get out and go shopping! Could have gone walking but, felt the need to do retail therapy! LOL Have a good Sat!
Candie...wow the opera sounds terrific! You will have to tell us what your parents see and how it goes. I have never bn to an opera in a large city like NYC. That sounds fabulous! Your lesson sounds neat for Sun-great age to teach!
Janny-thinking of you! Hope that your Sat goes well and you are not working too hard. The yard is lovely and I know how hard you work there. Won't be long before that lawnmower stuff starts. I know that mowing is called work...sorry,not rushing it! OLO
Jaz-great song as the others have said. Love all the oldies and goldies. Yep,sure felt that way many-a-day abt working. Guess that is why the weekends are so wonderful!
Faithandfifty-great news abt the twins-Trevor and McKenna's weights. Won't that be week#33 beginning Mon? Sounds like the mural is really like a fairyland wall. How awesome! Glad that your presentation went well. You are right that is an interesting observation abt horsepower. It is why I make myself go outside and see trees away from the comp screen. Too easy to become "cybermesmerized" for me! LOL
Hello to all! Hope that your weekend will be a good one. Great time to catch a few zzzzzs after the time change this week.
Best to all of you,Beach Buddies! See you at the shore as a thin jacket is abt all you need,a little sunscreen,hat,glasses...we are good to go!

Good morning Beach Buds! It's been forever since I've been sailing but I always enjoyed it so. Today looks like a nice day for it. It's so relaxing.
Neesie, thanks for the memories, those pics are hilarious (along with the stories that go with them!) Enjoy tapping maple trees for syrup with your grand. Just be careful Grace! jk
Faith, yikes about the amish buggy, that always makes me nervous when rounding a bend! Can't wait to see pics of the mural. More than that, I can't wait to see Trevor and McKenna! So happy that all is well!
Janny, gotta have pigs at the beach some times lol
Candie, You have a full weekend that sounds like a lot of fun .. look forward to hearing all about it!
Iris, You are right, our true cherished friends are priceless! What a great idea to catch some extra zzzzz's this weekend. I think I need to do that!
Jasmine, are you awake yet? lol

Good morning Beach Friends. Well, its Saturday and I'm up and reorganizing my home office. I can't believe how much dust has been sitting in this room. Tossing alot of things and letting go.
Here is the song of the day from one of our American treasures who was taken way to early in a plane crash. This is a really nice guitar duo arrangement of the song that I liked.
0 -
Nice song, Jas. I always liked Jim Croce.
Iris, I know that mowing season is almost upon us! I just told DH that the grass was starting to green up. Mowing isn't that hard. I just jump on the John Deere and go. It just takes 3 hours, that's all, lol!
Good morning Charlene! I hope you made some time for yourself yesterday. It does get easier with time.
Neesie, I am lmao at those pictures. I remember the snake and the dryer stories.
Gotta go, tons to do.

Jasmine .. that's one of my all time favorite songs! I really like the version you shared with us.
Janny .. well the day started late and got away from me lol But I will do something nice for myself soon.

Beach buddies, I'm picturing all of these images as though I was there in person..... our snow has just about completely melted away -- from last weekend's nonsense. Maybe spring is around the next corner?
CharAngel: I'm just days away from my first anniversary for dx as well. Sounds like we were dx'd about a week apart last year. I'm pretty excited to cross the milestone tho -- doesn't seem to be a bug-a-boo at this point. I saw that Curious George is to appear at our local McDonald's -- so thought that might be a fitting tribute, take wonder-boy & have fun.
Nessie: As a new-comer to the beach, I need a quick update about snakes, dryers and all the rest of that story. I'm using my imagination in the mean time.
Candie: opera at 80. That's awesome. Last year my dau played professionally for an opera co in NY, during her senior year of college (oboe) and so we got to hear some culture. Give us lots of details. I'm also remembering the two of us seeing an opera-etta in London during her junior year. Afraid that real opera's a bit toooo high brow for me.
Iris: what a sweet heart.
Jaz: weekend's I do want to keep time-in-a-bottle. HEY! Let's all write messages, roll them up into tight bundles, place them in bottles and toss them out to sea. We could each look for the bottles while we walk the beach. I did that as a kiddo.
Janny: How big is your yard/property? It takes 3 hours to mow on a riding mower? WOW. You must have an estate.
Sahalie: may I have a standing appointment for the masseuse? I like routine, and that's a routine that I could get established.
Margaret: I want an update on the trainer-concept. What's happening there? Give me specifics.
Saw that I posted this twice by accident, so I deleted the second copy.
More progress on the mural today. Tomorrow I think I'd better get launched on the crib skirt(s) and bumper pad(s)....... I'm outta control gals. Keeps me busy and feeling like all will be well.
The one bit of news from dd's doc yesterday, was that Trevor is currently breech. (Last time he was head down.) Doc says there's still time for him to flip and get headed in the right direction -- but there will be less and less space for him to get that accomplished if he delays. So anyone that has angel connections that straighten out babies, please contact them.
If he stays breech, they will have a scheduled c-section...... which is totally foreign to us. This news is freaking her out a bit. The doc scheduled her next appt for 2 weeks from now, so we shall see.

Good morning Beach Friends. Just popping in quickly to post a song but I will be back later this morning.

Morning girls, sorry I've been MIA again. No time again - have to get up and shower, go to the grocery store, and Jacob has a game at noon. Not even going to the gym this morning.
Jas, does OpenOffice.org work with Word or Excel without a problem?
Neesie, I remember the Visa diet but never got the specifics. I need to put my Visa on a diet. I've gotten better with that.
Candie, hope you enjoyed NYC. Love it - dad is not thrilled but he goes wherever mom says he has to go LOL.
Faith, I hope you will take a pic of those murals when you are done.
Char, I agree that Iris is a great person, and to send you the tulips on your anniversary. My three year was this past Monday, and would you believe I've been so busy I totally forgot?
Iris, I woke up to thunder and lightening yesterday and it rained. I did make it to the gym though. Trying to get my body back in shape so all of you who are doing your exercise through me, I'm working it. Met with the personal trainer twice this week. Today is Jacob's game and it's going to be freezing, must have some of DebC's cold coming our way - don't want to go cuz of the weather, but that's what grandmas do.
Jan, since I'm in CA, it's hard to imagine mowing a lawn on a john Deere. We actually got a glimpse of it when we went to visit my sister in NJ a few years ago. We had to go to Home Depot with them and Joe waited outside while we went in. We came out and he was sitting on a John Deere and proceeds to tell my BIL that we lived in NJ he would get a John Deere and use it to haul the kids back up the hill after sledding as well as use it to mow the lawn. Joe actually thought about moving to NJ, he figured he could handle the cold and it would be kind of fun, then he found out that the property taxes are even higher than ours so we're staying here.
Ok, time to get up. Everyone have a good day.

Margaret, after Susan asked, I checked and it is compatible to Office 2000. I have a spreadsheet that I created with Excel 97 that also had a password and the openoffice spreadsheet program (Calc) opened it just fine, password and all.

Faith: Wow ... you're a year out too and look how different we are. You have more energy in your little pinky then I have in my whole body! I'm in awe. Hoping little Trevor flips around. I've never had a c-section but my twin delivered all 3 of her babies that way.
Margo: What is Jacob playing in? You did Great for having no time today! Congratulations on 3 years out!!! I can't imagine forgetting the day but hopefully someday I can.
Jasmine: Awesome .. really beautiful video. What a nice tribute. I installed OpenOffice and it's Very cool! Thank you for the info on it.

Congratulations to both of you on your one year anniversaries! I hope you both have many many many more.

Only have a minute before 35 loving guests barge in my doors!!!!!!!!!! Why, you ask?...............cuz we are nuts!.............and it saves us from traveling for the (DH's) family egg hunt...............
Stay tuned my friends....................dryer quit drying last night............Mighty Man to the rescue...................................he refuses to just pull the plug and let the thing go peacefully........................let's see....in dryer years it is 15 years old.............wonder how old that would be in people years!!
Neesie......AKA........Grace!
0 -
Was this dryer purchased in AC or BC years? LOL!
0 -
LOL Grace and Jas ... uh, Grace I think I'd travel!
and Jas, thank you!
0 -
Jas, thanks. I'll keep it in mind.
Char, Jacob plays baseball, and he's really quite good. He plays 3rd base and today he made about three outs and hit the ball every time. I think he wants to play football again too. Hard to believe I would forget a cancerversary huh?
Neesie, time for a new dryer. Average life expectancy of an appliance is 13 years so I think you're due.

Good morning Beach Friends. Time to rise and shine on this Monday morning. Looks like some thunderstorms down this stretch of the beach.

Good morning Beach Angels

Faith I forget where you live. There is an Amish community around here, actually several of them. Run into them at WalMart all the time. Glad things are going well with the babies.
I like the pigs at the beach, too.
Neesie, you are too funny. I had forgotten those stories until you brought them up.
Candie, that's nice you live close to the city and can take your parents on those adventure. I hope I'm still wanting to go to the opera at 80.
Charlene, wishing you many more happy years!! Another 3 years or so and you will be over the hard part. LOL just kidding.
Iris, I love reading your posts. You are so generous in spirit.
Grass, mowing, oh makes me ache. We have a riding lawn mower too Janny. I won't a riding vacuum cleaner.
Margo, the lawns in California are not big enough to need a riding lawn mower. LOL
(Yes, I'm still jealous)
Neesie, as long as you are getting a new dryer, get a new washer too. You will save money on utilities. I'll be your washing machine consultant.

The beach would be a grand place to be today! It's a wee bit on the chilly side here still.
Jas: To funny..........I'm thinking BC on the dryer!
Susan: Ya, right.........I'm gonna sneak a Washer in on Mr. Fix it man, too! I'm beginning to think that he needs some 'oiling' as on some things he is so tight he 'sqeeks'!However, he has said in the past that he knows nothing about washing machines....................................apparently he THINKS he knows something about Dryers!
Faith: Glad to hear the twins are doing good.....the little guy will probably flip around before due time.........but if not, all will be well if momma has to have a C section. As long as they are healthy, that is what matters!
Okay..so I take it you are an artist............finally put it all together with the mural and such. What all do you do????
Oh lordy.......if I was to catch you up on the escapades of this household you'd have to do alot of reading!!!! Let's just say, DH and I are either well matched or total opposites........but it works most of the time! I don't know, maybe your imagination will be better than the actual stories!!
Faith and Angel: 1 year cancerversary..........who'd think that would be something we'd be celebrating..........but, it is a milestone and you have done well.
Margo: Did I read that you are 3 years out, soon?
I am a month away from 4 1/2 years.............I have to go to the 'big house' for my appointment with the 'squishing machine' this Friday. Even though I've graduated back to the yearly mammo's.........I can still remember those 3 words........you have ------.
Iris: Where are you? What a sweet thing you did for Angel! The Maple Syrup adventure went well.................even though my kids were half an hour late getting there.........yup, I sat in the little classroom all by myself and learned about how the Indians did it way back when!! But the tapping of the trees and collecting Sap was nice!
Amy: Did I tell you that I love the goat pics? Got an email from Cheri today..(you may have too) the one with the shall we say, 'mixed up genes' was to funny............but all I could think was, "I hope Mazer didn't get out!"
Jan: Hey to you.........I remember reading something about someone mowing lawns..........surely you aren't mowing yet are you???? I know you don't live all that far from me!!
Margo: Your Visa needs to go on a diet!! Ahhh, go ahead and enjoy.....I won't let your DH toss you in my pond for the turtles!!
Gotta go do something with this hunk of Corned Beef simmering on my stove............awhile ago it was boiling all over my stove!
Neesie....aka....Grace

Hi all!
Faith, If I had an estate, I be able to afford to have someone mow for me, lol! We Have 3 acres of mowable grass. I don't mind it. It is empty-headed down time for me.
Neesie, no grass yet, lol! I'm in PA
Hi there Angel-Char! And everyone else on the beach. I had my EGD test done today and my head is still a little spacey. It is an endoscopy to check the esophagus, and stomach. All is fine, except for some gastric disease which is easily treated. I'm going to go rest my brain some more! TTYL

Kissing the Blarney Stone for each of us Beach Bunnies! Are you all wearing green today?
THIRTY THREE weeks and one day!! She just got the word a min ago that the test they did on Fri to determine if there were chemicals to predict an early delivery came back 'negative.' The ultimate of good news/bad news.
Good news that they can keep growing..... reality that she's already as big as she can possibly imagine being. Her stretch marks have stretch marks!!
She had a really rough day yesterday, but is in very good spirits today -- which means that I'm in good spirits!!
Nessie/Grace: Yes. I am an artist. Plus several other variations on that theme. My work these days is in writing & recording original songs for children..... and then speaking to teachers about the importance of music. My ancient degree is actually in art: graphics/design/illustration plus education. So I'm a jill-of-all-trades.
AngelChar: You must be mistaking me for someone else -- when you talk about my having energy. Several things for your reality check: I've gotten off relatively easily on the BC trail..... 'just' surgery, rads & tamoxofin to this date. My story is barely a hangnail compared to many.
I seem to be able to barely manufacture enough energy to make it thru each day -- one at a time. I go to bed early, take naps and then have a spurt of productivity followed by a couple days where I don't do one blooming thing.
AND: I do hire someone to clean my house, my husband does all of the grocery shopping & nearly all of the cooking.... I hardly do one thing domestically. Oh, and we do hire someone to mow.
So literally every drip of my energy goes into 'people'..... my family, schools, teachers, children-on-the-road and whatever's left is pro-rated for travel. You have a 2 year old!! That summerizes everything, as far as I'm concerned. Just chasing this 2 yr old wonder-boy wears me out, thinking about him!!
Susan: I live in OH: Columbus. Last week I was up in the northern part of our fair state when I was surprised to see the buggies on the road. Though I know there is a population here, I'm still always shocked to see them. Where do you live?
Janny: 3 acres sounds like an estate to me!! Do you mow all 3 acres? Is any of it wooded? Do you garden?
Candie: How was the opera? I'm eager to hear how you managed all the festivities.
Marg: baseball sound pretty exciting in your family. MVP from the sounds of things. I was always glad that my daughters both played 'indoor' sports... I'm not sure I'd have been a bad-weather mom for their games.
Jaz: I think we must be about the same era..... you keep choosing songs from my life. Glad you're back into the swing of posting them for us.
Iris: where are you dearie? How on earth do you expect me to stay on top of things without you? Hope it's just some sorta technology issue. Miss you sweetie. Hurry back with our word-of-the-day.
Amy: how are the chicks? Peep, peep, peep!

Just another quickie!
Faith......If you sell the CD's and such that you write..........let me (us) know..several grandma's amonst us!!

Margo: Oh Jacob is in baseball .. I Love it! It's fun to watch, especially when our kids are good! I'm waiting to hear when soccer starts for Audrey. I hate the beginning of the season because it's usually too cold for me!
Susan: lmao .. oh joy, just in time for my oldest daughter to become a teenager! lol thank you for your wishes. I want a riding vacuum too!
Neesie: So October will be 5 years for you? That's awesome!! Of course, I don't think we'll ever be able to forget those 3 words. Since I had the blm and recon I don't get the squishy machine anymore. Good luck with your appt. Friday.
Janny: So good to hear everything went well with your EGD test today! Sorry you have gastric disease to deal with. Cancer, the gift that keeps on giving!
Faith: How about that, your daughter is doing great! I'm sure she has got to be uncomfortable though! So happy that the twins can keep growing!
LOL about my reality check! Okay, well, I myself opted out of chemo and didn't even do rads! But I did have four surgeries, including the bilateral mastectomies (hence no rads), expander surgery (with 2 months of painful fills!), complete hyster/oopherectomy and exchange surgery all in a matter of 9 months while having a baby and an 8 year old at home! My youngest was 17months old when I was dx'd and I was Just beginning to get some energy back from that first year at the time...and I thought being a 41 year old mom of a baby was tiring! I guess I just wasn't tired enough! lol Having fibromyalgia hasn't helped at all with my chronic pain and energy level either! Wow, my SO is the domestic one also who does all the grocery shopping and cooking. I'm really Very lucky to have him! I don't have someone to clean but I would if I could. Therefore, it just doesn't get done! lol btw, I too am interested in your CD since I have a 2 year old!
Iris: I miss your posts too. I know you had to go help your mom, hope all is going well. You are such a great daughter .. you and your mom are in my thoughts.
Well he did it again!!! We ran out of heating oil .. so Ava and Audrey are both in our bedroom and Ava won't settle down!!!! We have a heater in there so it's perfectly warm but Ava never sleeps in our room so it's all different ... sigh, this is the second time this winter that we ran out of oil!! The gage on our tank is broken so we have to guess ... grrrrr!
Gotta run, Ava won't settle!!! lol

Hi Beach Buddies,
Been missing all of you and sorry to be MIA. My mother was really sick last wk. So,on Sat,I came back and we went to the emerg rm. She had bronchitis;no pneumonia which was a relief. So,back at the coast seeing real shore and water. Thinking of all of you even if I did not get the tutti frutti computi to cooperate. LOL
Neesie-thank you so much for asking abt me. Glad the maple sugar session was good. That was my very fave candy as a child. They were these little candies w/nuts called maple sugar goodies. I would buy them at the candy counter.I called them birds eggs as they looked like eggs. How did the party go? That was a big group and bet you had fun;I am not sure if I would recognize cousins and relatives now as they are scattered in other states. Great to stay in touch as I miss that.
Faithandfifty-hi to you, too! I am glad your daughter is doing better today. I know the closer Apr comes, the more she/everyone gets excited. The mural is certainly magical with all the neat characters and details. I am glad that the weather was cooperative for the last presentation. We are almost there for spring! It is time for that egg-citing eqinox event! How abt that for alliteration on my limited brain cells! LOL
Angel-thanks for the beautiful windsurfer pic and the seagull. Those colors are magnificent and what lovely shades of blue. Hope that your weekend went well. Also, thanks for the beautiful St Patrick's Day pic for all of us. Everyone who wants to be Irish-yeah! With two Irish names,I will adopt into my family! Had my green shamrocks sweater on and my leprechaun! Thinking of you!
Jan-glad that your test was good-as we knew it would be since we were all there cheering and leprechauns dancing! Bet your drugs kept you from dancing with us-anyway,I think Protonix helped my father with his GERD better than others tried. Yep,I rememb the mowing and it does help clear the head and was enjoyable riding unless blazing hot. Take care! My head was so empty that there was not much to clear! OLO
Margo-too funny like Neesie said abt the Visa going on a diet.I hv asked before if my debit card had smoke coming out from the machine from overuse? LOL Jacob sounds like an awesome third baseman. You are a great grandma! So neat to brave the weather for his game.I thought that was funny abt Joe and the John Deere. He would enjoy all the tractors here. My father has the mower and a tractor to bushhog pasture areas. He still rides that tractor-must be a male thing on that pasture cutting.
Amy-thinking of you and hope you are feeling better. Hope you will share an up-dated pic of the goats as I know they are getting bigger.
Susan-hi to you! You,my friend, have a very generous spirit. Thank you for the kind compliment. I love your creative abilities-what a smart lady you are. How goes your job? I am not a librarian-reading teacher so,I taught lots of books and taught children to read. I wanted to be a media specialist and just nev went back to change degrees or add credits. TMI-I am so long-winded!
Jaz-I love Office updates as I got a good deal on 2007 and it is much better than my 2000. I did not think it was worth the price that it was advertised for my usage.
Candie-how are you and what abt your wknd at the Opera? I hope it went well and that everyone had a good time. Hope you are having a good week.
Barb-thinking of you and hope things go well for you. Hope the snow has melted and warmer there. I am so out-of-touch that hopefully, snow has bn long gone there.
Hope I did not skip anyone! Have a good evening! I did walk this aft near the water;sunset was pretty near the shore. See you tomorrow!
Iris0
