hi beach bunny friends...how r u? hope everyones doing good...just wonted to say hi....thinking of you all as if your all here with me at my beach ...with my girlfriends visiting and seeing you all right here with me. last night was real winding and we walked the shore against the wind...the sand mysticaly blowing towards up around our feet and moon light htiiring the sand blowing so perfectly. giving us a feeling of waling on cloud right ontop of the water. magical and a natural high...if you wont to imagine and join us....be happy. 0 -

Hope that each of you had a very pleasant Thurs. Here on the NC Coast,it was windy and rainy. It has rained for abt a week;however,we needed it here. It should be warmer by weekend.
Hi,angel-thank you for your kind words. You know abt me that I am a person of alot of words-but play by the rules. I think that is what I was first drawn to w/this thread i like the kindness and loveliness and being able to be me. Some threads are not as fortunate-JMO. I am so wordy;know I appreciate being accepted for myself and the feeling is mutual. What I like is whatever I write,I put my name on it as I proudly post w/colorful,iris/rainbow thoughts.

Wingirl2-thank you for asking abt me. I retired from elem schl and taught all grades 1-6;special Reading and Kindergarten Reading in my 31 yr career. I do volunteer work now when feasible. I did some work with day care little ones yrs ago and what a nice age! Congrats to your dd and I wish her the very best. It was a challenging;albeit rewarding job. I will prob volunteer as time allows-adults now more so than children. Thanks for caring;sorry don't mean to bore! LOL What area(s)is your dd educ degree? How was your day-hoping the UTI is much improved.
Divine-beautiful pics today! I wanted to go live in that magical sand castle. Guess we,all,have days when we would love to hide away or stick our heads in the sand? I don't mean that literally-just days that are long and never-ending. Then the beautiful sunrise happens and a new set of hours to enjoy and begin a new day. Everyone that posts here makes a new addition for our day and it is great to hear how ea person is. So glad that your (softly saying 'palps') day was not as troublesome. You are right abt anxiety. I hv had it many yrs and just now coming to terms w/how to deal w/it. I am a huge people pleaser and worry if I hv offended or hurt someone's feelings. Now,at least after bc,life as we knew it before is diff. Hope your 9-9 day has gone well. Maybe now,you can rest for a few hrs-long day.

I always leaned toward the long haired guys too. My SO just shaved his head ... it's always been short since I've known him but oh my! He still has his beard and mustache. I like it though!

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Its a glorious day on this side of the beach. Just cleaning up a few tree branches this morning after last nights huge storms. Looks like this years tornado season is a big one but my house is in good shape although one of those whirly birds went right over the top of my house. G-d was surely watching over me.

Iris - Chatter away my friend - we have all day at the beach to listen. I enjoy your posts as well as all the other Beach Friends posts here. I'm more of a quiet person so you chatter away and I will listen. DD is teaching at HS level - she still looks like a HS student. Her degrees - speech/drama/health. Sounds like you have a lot of experience teaching children. I have been licensed about 14 yrs.
Nessie - Enjoy the day w/ your mom. We are traveling to Sterling Heights this wkend for a wedding. DH is driving so I won't have to fight the crazy traffic in that area. We are about 2hrs from there. We plan on staying at DD apartment in Shelby. Family bonding wkend - my favorite time.

Wings -- you shouldn't need to log in to youtube. Are you on a dialup connection? If so I think it will be hard for you to see the videos as it would take a long time for them to stream to your pc to see. You may be getting timed out.

Angel-right back at you as we are on same wavelength. Life is just too short to be so annoyed when the beach is all around. I logged in(after charging battery,again)and saw the beautiful,uplifting beach colors of your pic. Thank you for finding such lovely and etheral depictions. It just feels lighter and happier viewing such great photos,don't you think?
That is interesting abt SO and his hair. That was all I heard as a teen that the "long hair"Beatles music was not acceptable. Now.my father says how great they were and hairstyles forgotten. Go,figure! I kept them as my fave musicians despite his feelings,typical of me.
Candie-how are you and how is your Friday? Hope that it is a shorter day for you. Thinking of you and hope the weekend is good. I told you abt my mother's seashell lamp,I think. It is transparent and has the most beautiful shells inside. I think of you whenever I see it as you must have lovely and unique seashells from many places. Hope your flowers are blooming.
AlwaysHope-so sad abt more damage in your area. It seems like your area has had lots of storms lately. I know it is spring and the tornadoes seem to gravitate to certain areas of the US. That is the way it felt living in Alabama. Glad that your house was not damaged as it looks really intense on TV. Thanks for the clips!

The sun is trying to slide between the clouds. We know that after stormy weather,the sun re-appears and the day seems brighter. What I hv seen,in my coastal living,is that I appreciate the calmness and serenity more after a temporary squall/storm at the beach. We needed rain-now the beach is back to the bluer water and ready for a walk. Wear a jacket-slightly windy.

Faithandfifty-thinking of you and your weekend. Hope that the conference is going well and no 'Murphyisms' at all. I am saying no more for either of us! Like charging this battery with three USB cords that none want to work! Saw the cutest little boy y'day that reminded me of your gs. Also,got to chat w/my friend's three-yr-old on phone. I love the way they are so excited abt life and all the things around them. This must be really satisying in your presentations as you capture the magic and serendipity!

Beach Bunny-beauties..... I've had such an incredible day & I'll never sleep until I tell you about it.
It would seem that I have "arrived." It took 12 years (how long I've been at this 'independantly') but I had a superlative day. Murphy was no where in sight, not even on the horizon lurking.
I was given a gorgous ballroom.... they had to bring in more chairs, as we had 'standing room only' for the 400 given chairs. AND they devoted a 'sound man/tech' guy to me!!!! (Jaz cue Hallalujah Chorus.) He connected all of the wires, and equipment. They had 2, 20 feet screens and these awesome projectors -- so everyone could see my power point slides/pictures/words/illustrations. The microphones worked. The lighting was fantastic. My computer worked. My CDs worked. I was up on a stage so I could see everyone.... they could see me. It's what I've always longed for: tech support and people to share the enthusiasm.
Somehow, I trust that you'll accept I'm not attempting to blow my own horn, but rather want to share an enormously fun day with you. I've had such nutty environments for presentations lately: the movie studio that had no electical outlets, the portable tent in Chicago in the dead of winter -- that was freezing(!), last summer's outdoor concert across the street from the local swimming pool, the time that the power went out in the first 5 minutes of a two hour workshop. Murphy owes me a few. Or the time I was in the banquet room, the previous speaker went over the time alloted & my participants had to sit at tables filled with other people's dirty dishes that weren't cleared..... well you're beginning to get the tip of the ice burg of my travels.
The craziest thing is that I never know what to expect. Like last month when I had 3 people attend a 3 hour workshop (new location, had never been in that state before.)
Well undoubedly that's more than you needed to know. (But you asked.) Thanks to each of you for your support!! For your peaking at my website, watching the Goldie swim-fest and general all round cheering for me from the side lines. I feel like this has given you a glimmer into what I'm up to.
Now tomorrow I just have to vend at the exhibit hall all day long & make a quick appearance at a new friends 'movement' workshop.
She wants to write a teacher's resource book on movement ideas to my songs. WHEEE!! So she and her DH and me and mine went out to dinner at an incredible restaurant across the street from the convention center. Quick. Pinch me. Am I dreaming?
Well so enough about me. Thanks for listening. I'm so grateful to you for your friendships. I don't think of them as cyber at all, but the 'real' deal. Group hug.

Wow Faith! That is awesome. We have our very own rock star at the Beach!!! That is really impressive to have standing room only with 400 seats. I don't think its 'blowing your own horn' at all. The Beach family rejoices when one of its own has something fantabulous happen. I'll try to find the Hallelujah chorus on youtube.

Me again, what a week it's been, starting with Monday, Ryan's 22nd birthday, then mid-week going to see Bon Jovi, til tonight when I had to go have a margarita and celebrate happy hour at mylocal Mexican restaurant.
Candie, you had heart palpitations earlier this week. How are you doing?
Char, Bon Jovi was awesome. Daughtry was on first and he played for about 45 minutes then Bon Jovi was on for over two hours. Daughtry came out and sang one Bon Jovi song, the one he sang on American Idol - what was it - Wanted? Can't remember now but they did well together. I didn't get to bed until after midnight - just can't do that anymore.
Winggirl, is the UTI gone? Those can be so painful.
Faith, has your DD had a 4D sonogram yet? My girlfriend's daughter just had one - they are pretty awesome. The website is cool.
Have to run but will try to be back tomorrow. Have I told you all how peaceful I find this thread to be?
Jaz, what kind of straightening iron did you get? I thought I was the only one who did things like that! Chemobrain - that's my excuse for a lot of things. How scary to have one go over your house.

Iris, doesn't volunteer work make you feel good? I enjoy my volunteer work. I'm going to have to find a dress to wear to my fundraiser dinner. I think I told you the theme is "An Evening with the Stars" so it's old time glamour. Weather here has been cold. We ate at the restaurant at the HP Pavillion. I had pork cutlets, Joe had prime rib, and Nancy had beef tips stroganoff. We had an ahi tuna appetizer and split a big salad, and of course, cocktails. Dinner was good.

Good morning Beach Ladies! Woohoo, a day without rain here. The sun is rising and the sky is a brilliant blue. I'm going to get out this morning and join the exercise class at the community center. I went to my first Beginner Step class last week and it was really fun. I thought I was having a heart attack at the end but I'm going to keep at it.
I'm wishing each and everyone here a day full of happiness and good fun.
