Wings~
To Wings, FP*angel and each of us ~ some kind, wonderful words we could all use from "Hugs With Love".
Hugging is healthy, it helps the body's immune system, it cures depression, reduces stress, induces sleep, it's invigorating, it's rejuvenating, it has no unpleasant side effects. Perhaps one of the oldest and most important forms of affection is the hug.
*
It's cold and cloudy here on the beach tonight and I am so tired from all the festivities the past two days so will rinse the sand off my feet and go into my bungalow for the night, get my big old terry robe on and curl up with my doggies, a book and some tea.
Sleep tight all.
See you on the flip slide.
XOXO

Neesie -- I'm so glad you made it home from Mom's. How did her appointments go? I just read back and was wondering, are you really being invaded by wild turkeys? So now you have square produce and wild turkeys?
Waiter!....I'll order whatever she is having :P

Happy Birthday to you........... and many more!!!

Finally getting around to checking in.
Jaz, wasn't early enough - actually it probably was but I never read my email today. 6 am is awfully early. Blu-ray replaced high def dvd players I think, can't remember.
Wings, enjoy that motorcycle weekend.
Debbie, you deserve a little pampering on your special day.
Saw the Indiana Jones movie tonight - on a scale of 1-10, rate it a 6.5 - entertaining. Lots of kids, I mean lots of kids.

Do you think this last Indiana was as good as the others then? I don't want to waste my money if its not. I'll just wait for it to come on HBO.

I declare the whole, entire weekend and all of the catamaran adventures to be dedicated to Footie's birthday-extravaganza extraordinaire.
I packed these in my wicker hamper for everyone to look forward to after that healthy lunch, already on the menu:
pink........ bunnies........... and decadent, what could be more appropriate for us beach bunnies?

Good morning Beach friends. Happy Memorial weekend. Let's not forget the men and women who serve and those who have served and paid the price to ensure our freedom.
IrisAngel - I'm so sorry those friends treated you that way. If we lived closer we would have one heck of a party to celebrate.
Well, my friends have enticed me to go to the lake with them this afternoon, so I guess I better go dig up my sunscreen and run to Wallyworld to get stuff for the cookout. The weather is gorgeous and I've got a nice book to take and just relax and sit in the shade while I watch the skiers. My days of water fun are long gone but I do enjoy just sitting by the water and relaxing with a good book.

One of the saddest eras in American history for me will be the way the men and women who served in Vietnam were treated when they returned home. This affected a special family member and I will never forget. May we never dishonor our men and women who serve in this manner again.
No parades, no marching bands.
No banners catching the breeze.
No cheering crowd to warm your heart,
Welcome home, Welcome home.No hurrahs, no tears of joy.
No ribbons ‘round the trees.
Time has picked your pockets clean,
And time will tell if you're welcome home.School yards, railroad tracks,
Memories laid end to end.
Seems only you have changed,
Welcome home, Welcome home, my friend.Sidewalks, garden gates,
Back roads you used to roam.
They're old friends who ought to say
Welcome home, Welcome home.Life is cruel, and life is strange,
And fate is not ours to know.
But there's one thing you know for sure,
War is hell, buddy, Welcome home. Now leave the past behind,
And turn your eyes toward today.
You've reached your journey's end,
Welcome home, Welcome home to stay. From the soundtrack of the movie "Welcome Home" starring
Kris Kristofferson, sung by Willie Nelson0 -
Jaz, I feel the same sadness about all that. BTW I will be in Bentonville AR on Tuesday. Is that close? If it is want to meet for dinner before I drive back? pm me.
Iris, I will make it to NC someday!!!

HUSBANDS AWAY SO COME ON OVER AND PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll have a good ole fashioned PJ party and maybe even play a game or two of "truth or dare"..............!! Hot Tub is emptied for the summer..(when summer comes)....but after a couple Margaritas we can sit in it and pretend!!
I NEED SOMEONE TO COME HELP ME WITH SOME OF MY SPECIAL THERAPY......................SUSAN, IRIS, MARGO...........YOU'RE ALL PRETTY GOOD AT IT.............SAHALIE, JAZ, FAITH, FOOTPRINTS, WINGS...........COME ON..I'LL TEACH YOU HOW IT'S DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Footprints...........I hope you had a wonderful birthday!! The most important thing is CAKE......LOTS OF CAKE!!!!!!!
Wings..........I'm sorry that you fall into the May yuck also. I'm sorry to hear that your Daddy went so young. I thought my Daddy died young at 64.....he always said he was going to go with a Golf Club in his hand....and that's exactly what he did. It will be 28 years on June 5th.
I think that is nice that you released a balloon for him today!
Hope you and hubby enjoy your Biking this weekend.....................No broken limbs before next weekend................not an excuse for not walking!
Iris...............You sound a bit down, friend................sure wish distance didn't prevent all of us from sitting down and having a good 'belly' laugh.....(and in my case we could laugh at my belly 'jiggling' when I laugh!
Those friends need to be replaced by real, compassionate friends.....and that you have here.............NOW I'VE JUST GOT TO FIGURE OUT WHEN YOUR BIRTHDAY IS!!!!!!!!!!! Detective Cap being put on.........
Jaz.................Yup....for real Turkeys............ROFLMAO..............asking the waiter for whatever I'm having!
I, too will remember all the Vietnam Vets this holiday............So many from our age group and so many not treated right during or after the war.
You mentioned the 'square' produce..........I know he planted some pumpkins, but haven't noticed if he used the 'square' growing contraption thingy yet or not...................think he said he had to wait for the pumpkins and watermelon to start growing first.
The excitement in this house never ends............................Don't even ask about the Cubboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ought to be real interesting!
Faith...................So glad you made it back from Chicago land safe and sound...........back to the land of Diapers and Hugs! My little ones are Up North visiting SIL's family for a few days......................My DD will be pulling her hair out by tomorrow, I'm sure! They are great people....but her FIL can grate on your nerves without trying to hard.....and he tends to like to take SIL off which leaves DD with the kids and MIL!!!!
(How many of you are wondering what "UP NORTH" is????
Margo.............Plans for the weekend? How did the 6am Hair appointment go? I give you credit for that one!
Yes, My Son does live in AZ..(have I already answered that?)..DeJa Vu going on here! He says it was just a strange twist to the weather.....talked to him about an hour ago and he said it was still raining and he was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt...............................a few days ago he was dressed in shorts and Tank top! Can't quite picture him wearing a Tank Top............Wife Beater..that's what they used to call those things......surely he meant a t-shirt!
Sahalie...........Hope you got the rest you were looking for last night! There was something I wanted to respond to you about, but it is on the last page and if I flip back I'll lose my post............So, just thinking about you and the fun days you plan for us..............Come on over here tonight and take a break............we'll entertain you!
Susan.............Susan, Susan, Susan...........you snuck your post in on me! What are you going to Arkansas for?????????????????? I want to go! Hope the storms are staying away from you!
I still want to go!!!! Are you going back to Eureka Springs or someplace different?
Well, in typical ME fashion I have several projects started and none finished! I tried to move a few things around in the cubboards in the Laundry Room to make room for Nuisance gadgets..........you all know the routine...........one thing leads to another and I've got the whole room tore apart............................................................!
I'm telling you..........I really need a friend around here..............I actually don't know anyone to hang around and get in trouble with. Seriously, Lunch or go for a walk...........it would be nice. (geesh..sounds like I'm writing for a singles ad!)
Hope all have a great day..................I'm sure I'll be back.......If I don't go to my retail therapy class..........I have the whole afternoon and evening to do whatever I want!!
Neesie

Okay Jasmine............this is for you! I think it is blurry, but I'll have to download a better one from my Camera........(yup, I've asked for a New Camera for Birthday!) Taken through my bedroom window Thursday....Somewhere I've got a pic of a bunch of Hens walking across the yard in a line!

Dear Beach Friends, Thank you all for the very nice birthday and party. I hope everyone got a piece of cake and tea. I am very glad that I am able to enjoy and support my beach family. And fought has own battle for 7 years no help(medical coverage wasnt paid) Now I remind myself we must keep fight to help our men and women get more help as they come home. God bless our men and women, And the children like I was that are waiting. My hats off to all! Debbie

Just dropping by to say hi to everyone.
Iris, my sister got stuck Tuesday night trying to fly out of Raleigh - she said it started pouring 15 minutes before her flight took off and flights were being cancelled all over the place. You come out here for your birthday and we'll have a celebration you won't forget!
Jaz, weather here is gray and cloudy so it was BLTs and your hash potato soup for lunch - yum. I wouldn't wait to see Indiana Jones - it's worth $7.50 to see it on the big screen. I feel the same way you do about the Vietnam vets.
Wings, that cake(?) looks pretty awesome.
Susan, you and I were in FL the same time - unfortunately, we never got to meet - if you make it to NC, let me know - you never know - I might hop on a plane and meet you and Iris. My dad, whom I never got to say goodbye to, is buried in Arkansas. One of these days I will have to go to put flowers on his grave.
Neesie, I'm here to help - just tell me which retail therapy location to visit - I was at a few myself this morning. No, it's a wife beater! My son has a few of those himself, and I remember when he wouldn't wear a tank top.
Have a surprise 50th birthday party for a girlfriend tonight. Her hubby had us send out invitations saying it was a surprise party for Joe - hers was a few weeks ago and they were on a cruise, so she will be very surpised when she finds the party is for her.
I remembered what town dad is buried in - Batesville.0 -
I'm bored............where is everyone????
I've cleaned, even washed floors, finished my mess in the laundry room pantry, knitted, read, ordered a pair of slippers from Shoebuy..........even made Margarets Crab Quiche..and ate WAY to much!
I'm off to find Mario and go for a walk.....................hope he's around!

Happy Saturday evening all.
On the beach, on the catamaran or in comfy areas of ones home.
Wow, so many traveling girls.
Welcome home Faith and you Diva it up all you want cuz we are so proud of you!
OMGosh, Faith, those pink treats look out of this world soooo good.
I could sure sink into one of those right this minute.
With a chocolate chaser.
*
Bearyadorable Iris, when is your birthday so we can all join you for cake and lot's of Ben & Jerry's.
We will be here for you and maybe even have bells on.
Sparkles too.
Neesie, Welcome home to you too.
DH's away eh!
What a look on your face if the whole bunch of us donned our flip flops and rung your door bell.
It puts a smile on my face just picturing it.
That would be a fun time for sure.
You behave yourself.
Well, a little bit anyway.
Happy project happenings.
Thanks for the invite, oh how I wish we could.
*
Jasmine, I love the waters edge and a good book too.
Nothing better.
Sweet breezes from the trees,
an occasional sound of a plop from the fish jumping high up
out of their
comfort zone just for a tasty mosquito.
Love it and wish I could join you.
I also lift my hand to my heart in reverence to the men and women who have served.
The Kris Kristofferson lyrics are so heartfelt.
Anything sung by Willie brings tears to my eyes as I immediately think of my husband.
We had our favorites of his songs that are very special to me.
*
Margaret, I too heard on the radio from some of our locals that
the new Indiana movie is ho hum.
*
Amy, Calling Amy! Where are you?
It's not only us that are looking for you.
The beach boys want to know where their limbo champ is.
Check into Mario's ASAP. Margarita on the veranda for you.
Today was a most fun day as DD and I drove down early to
Corte Madera to the Nordstrom's "leave all your money here" shopping extravaganza.
It's one of our favorites as we can peruse, Pottery Barn
(bought wedding gifts for family wedding next weekend),
found great dresses each in the "Black and White" dress shop
plus you won't believe it, a pair of righteous black flip flops
with jewels.
We bought a pair, I kid you not.
We walked miles from one end to the other.
Found a cute present for a friends June birthday in Anthropology.
Then we had a very late lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
And I didn't even have anything chocolate after the meal.
WTH***
I am kicking myself into next week for denying myself that treat.
I got home about an hour ago and sure enough it's another
evening to cozy up on the sofa and pray to the TV genies
that there is something decent on TV tonight.
My netflix movies this week are challenged.
What was I thinking?
Where are my slippers.
XOXOXOXO to each of you.
*
Chocolate deprived and to lazy to go back out and buy some.

i think we should start planning a 'real' beach rendez-vous
but we might never return to real life...........
here's a smile for tonight

Oh,Wow...where to start? This beach thread has to be the best gift that a person could ever want! Thanks for caring abt me...today was much better as ta da...hold your applause for just a second... I now own a new shower curtain!!! Yes,after a million yrs-and it is up as it takes what-5 to 10 minutes to install? It sure looks cleaner and a new bath mat, too! Can you say that I go all out? Ha! Target therapy strikes, again! Curtain has little butterflies cause you know how I flit from subject to subject, fitting!!! Also, had some great phone conversations with friends today. So,the day was great and hope all of you had good Saturdays, too! My shower curtain has these colors/butterflies instead...reminds me of the happy look of this pattern.
First of all,footprints/Debbie,hope that you had a good birthday celebration as you had some awesome pics here and wonderful friends writing such neat messages! Glad you shared your birthday with us! I am sorry abt your father as I knew someone affected by agent orange, as well, and lost his fight a few yrs back. Vietnam was a real sad time for our country as many of my high schl classmates were drafted and had their lives/family's lives changed forever. So,thinking of you and hope you are having a good Sun! A few more bearyspecial wishes for you...no cals or carbs to count and no cholesterol! Cyberbytes, all around for friends!!!
faith...I apologize as I had this cool little bear that reminded me of your WB and I promised to post it. Well,my printer died,a computer had a weird virus,Jeep had steering issues, excuses but all in one day...we,all,hv bn there...yes,Calgon,pls take me away...beach would be great! These twins are amazing...I was bragging abt "our little twins" today;cannot believe how much they have grown! All three are so photogenic and it is like the twins have inate movements towards each other..Glad your trip was good and that the weather was cooperative.
Can't you just see little WB waiting for GG?
I think that was what was on his little shirt, right? I love this little bear and it is dedicated to him,too...Your cake is awesome...reminds me of the icing on the one at Whole Foods or Whole Calories more like I ate! Beautiful colors here with the pink, red and white.
Margo..The bouquets at Trader Joe's were neat! I know you had gorgeous ones from the Farmer's Market. I like the way the house looks and smells w/fresh flowers;silk are fine. Just don't you like the smell of the tuberoses and the lighter fragrances? Our gardenias and magnolias are abt ready-they smell heavy,to me w/allergies not that crazy abt heavy scents. You said you have maybe was it a couple of bears?Hope that the party is lots of fun and what a great surprise for your friend! I would love to see her face. Once, all of my co-workers sang to me on the first day of schl(early Aug) as it was my birthday. So,did not mean to sound so down...just tired on Fri as much had happened in a wk.I was out in that Tues storm, too, as I had a hair appt at 5PM. It was lightning with hail in some places;crazy weather and so unusual for this area.Nancy's flight sounds like travel was a zoo at RDU! I know she was happy to get home. Maybe she will come again and you can visit, too. Thank you for your kind words, you are a great friend!
Jaz...you are so kind and I sure wish we were all closer in distance...one of these days! Thank you for caring as it was disappointing, but you know one of the ladies fell not long after that and is still in re-hab as she had a stroke, the other one calls, sometimes, just never was the same as both were retired and had no schedules. However, better friends have come into my life since then and more caring ones. Hope that your trip to the lake was fun. Hoping that your weather is good this wkend...thinking of you and this pic reminded me of the Vietnam Vets who so deserved recognition;truly a sad time in our history. Loved Kris Kristofferson's writing and the movie "Born On the Fourth of July" was a haunting memory of that time period, too.Thank you for remembering those brave men and women and their families.
Neesie...you and all the other Beach Buddies,oh,wow...thank you for the kind words. I run and run and run(wobble more like it LOL)then, when I hit the E on my energy tank,I tend to get nostalgic. Things worked out fine with printer(BestBuy allowed me to exchange other one). How abt your day and vis w/your mom? I know abt the bld draws/oncs and more visits for seniors w/drs. It seems there are lots more visits than in former times. Sorry abt your front teeth...I know that is a pain in so many ways. Hope it will go well...I hv one tooth w/out a filling and I know you have more crowns...you are royalty, well at least you paid royally...LOL/kidding! You still hv teeth is what I say to myself, granted they are not my natural ones, but they look like teeth! Have a good Sun! I told my friend that I gave up birthdays as I think I have had enough...she said well what day did you celebrate before you gave up the birthday? She is pretty quick! LOL I bought each of us that cake concoction...I think there was enough sugar to send me to Mars!
Sahalie...how great to see you and have some more fun in the sun!!! Thanks for the kind thoughts,too...it just is wonderful to have so many dear friends who care. Guess what I saw at Target...Margarita Machine...and they were trying it out today and trying to fig out how to do the ice and mix. Don't think it was the real deal on the mix;samples were green.Have a great wkend and thanks for the keeping us all active as I would be the one sleeping on the beach in the sun w/my new tanning lotion called Ocean's Potions or something like that! Smells wonderful like the tropics/ oranges...and adds a little color to the skin;I think of your island descriptions as it just sounds wonderful.Just reading your beautiful words relaxes me!
Susan...you,too,friend are so awesome! Thanks for being you! I wish you would come this way as we could have a blast! I am hoping that your weekend is going well and the weather cooperative. Do you have wkend Memorial Day plans? I always see neat groups of stars and think of you as that was the first time I had seen so many friends' names in such a neat design last yr,I think it was or the yr before? I love that pic of the bears and the neat celebrating...too cool!We would have a blast in a get-together!
Wings...hope you and your dh are having a great time on your trip! Will be so great to hear what you saw and if you got some neat photos of any lighthouses;not sure exac where you were going? Sorry,my brain was muddled with steering fluid puddles...Jeep issues...no tissues, yet! Ha!You are right abt the project of designing the day care ctr;supplying all that stuff. I heard this teaching asst's project was the same as ours; so, she was using our input for her advanced degree. There were so many supplies/equip needed and I know it is very rewarding. Not having lesson plan responsibilities now, would be better;JMO.Although, summer prob is fun and being outside, the kids love the swimming and fun activities-most fun is no school and your place!I was so sorry to read of the loss of your father at such an early age for all of you and esp so near your wedding date. Thinking of you...
As usual,I miss a day and write a book!!!
Iris-angel/bearlysane/bearygrateful for all of you Beach Buddies!
Have a great, long weekend all Beach friends, bear and human cherished friends and angel buddies!

one handed this morn, but blue skies & birds singing....
i think it's time to get ourselves organized w/a beach birthday chart.
someone more together than sleepless-in-babytown could keep us updated. i'll add my date: dec 13th -- which always gets 'overlooked' because of all the other holiday hoopla unfolding... or it gets "combined" as in: here's your dec. card.
iris: it is massive to get the "shower-curtain-type-jobs" accomplished, the ones that nag forever are the most aggonizing. in driving home from chicago i stayed on interstate one more exit than usual and see we have a NEW target under construction..... just 2.5 miles from my house/south -- the weird thing is, we have a 2 year old target less than 2 miles north of my house!!!! seriously. don't get me wrong, i adore target, but are they planning to take over my entire neighborhood????? there are so many 'other' things we could have used, besides a duplication??? interesting
after reading everyone else's posts, i think i'm seriously suffering from retail withdrawl. i had that whole 15 min spree in MI since i was early for lunch, but listening to your exploits i'm turning green.... i have been to our grocery: whooooooohoooooooo! must shop. must shop. the things that are 'missed' when house-bound
sahalie: i think you could write about reading an encyclopedia and make it interesting........more, more, more. i love the thought of rightous flip flops, details details details... i live vicariously thru your posts, plrase keep it up!
jasmine: i appreciate your pointing out the intent of this weekend. my DH was in the navy during nam and i think it's only lately that he's felt any 'acknowledgement' of his service......and w/scott/sil away as i type -- i'm quite aware of all that he misses each day. thank heavens we can speak to him often, send pics etc etc
it's good for us to pause & reflect together. thank you
Footie: i got all teary eyed picturing you longing for your daddy, much like WB waves at every passing jet overhead -- thinking it could be ..... he says "hi daddy" to each plane..... made my parents cry to see his innocence........
***oh, and more birthday blessings-- you get the whole weekend, remember?
Wings: we just found my outragous scarf that you're remembering from detroit..... ihad taken it to our state conference last month & scoured my house & DD's looking for it, to no avail for our walk last week..... i was so worried i'd lost that treasure -- it was at the warehouse!!! DH found it!!! will have to take some pics so folk here can grasp. i so miss riding our bike -- as it;s in WI & not sure when i'll get back there -- ride for me this spring, ok? belated blessings to you on losing your father "too young".....much to savor this weekend
nEEsie: i've called comedy central on your behalf & they're looking into a special for you. they want to know if you're willing to tour? thank you for your contribution to my strained sanity..... laughter is indeed good medicine..... i can just picture the look on your face w/well informed grand daughter & the creek!!! must write that one down for posterity
margo: are you havin' big "eats" this weekend? i think of you akin to our martha stewart -- in a spray tan, no less. i wracked my brain for a recipe i could share..... finally thought of one!! will save for another day
susan: i'm so intrigued by iris' references to your 'work/skills'
i have no idea, so please tell.... pretty please?
amy: did anyone get pictures from the production?? i would love to see, as would everyone, please post if possible.... my poison ivy is just about dried out -- which made me think of shingles, which made me think of you, hope that particular nonsense is long past
angel: big picnic hamper full of yummies, for you & yours
hugs to any other beach bunnies i've neglected A to Z and back again

OKAY beach buddies,
UP and AT 'em.
Ready, set, and off for an early morning run up the beach.
Bearyadorable Iris, slap on that Ocean's Potions and lead the run.
Here we go.
Wow you guys are unbelievable. Awesome.
Amy, We're sending out the cabana boys to bring you home.
Faith, Babylishous pictures and thank you for your kind words.
Neesie, Hurry up you're lagging in the beach run.
Too much partying eh last night while dh was away?
Good girl!
Foots, Great job. See what birthday sugar will do.
Lot's of energy for beach jogs.
For me it's a decent nights sleep of which I had last night.
I thank our lucky beach stars in the bluest of blue skies.
Jasmine, We are missing you big time since you are at the Lake with your toes dangling in the water.
Have a grand relaxation plus time.
Wings, I hope you and the family are also enjoying each minute of wonderful time together.
OKAY beach loverlies, Step it up, almost to the finish line.
Look what's waiting for us.
Love YOU.

Hello to the beach.
Can anyone pm me about Charlene? I have been coming here looking for her and I pm'ed her and nothing. I missed her and was just going to say hi. Has she been banned or something.

The morning beach crew was amazed at the speed of our jogging beach babes!
You all were amazing with speed of light jogs to the breakfast buffet.
Today is the day of rest so do so at your leisure.
Horseshoe toss later today hosted by the beach boys on the beach in front of Jasmine's bungalow.
Bring your game faces and a good arm to play the game.
Refreshments served after the games compliments of our most generous cabana crew.
To our beach angels who aren't able to join us. . .
You are always with us in gigantic thoughts with hugs.
Okay, game on this afternoon.

Happy Sunday Afternoon, all Beach and Bear Buddies!
I love parties and fun events and on the beach...here I come!! Wow! I am headed for the horseshoes game...first of all,Sahalie, going to partake of that beautiful display of food! Oh,boy...will try to share w/all of you, mmmm! That fruit looks scrumptious and all the beverages and the setting! Thanks so much for sharing the loveliness and the fun!...I just love all the things that I read abt and thanks for the neat afternoon's events!
These are for luck when we toss the horseshoes. Rambling,I love real horseshoes pitching contests. Had plastic ones as a youth and ringtoss, too. What wonderful memories this brings back for me.
I like the U shape as it could be like what brought U here(Beach Thread) or U light up my beach days;as in thinking of U! As Dale and Roy(good old TV movie days)always said,Happy Trails to you...until we meet, again, keep smiling until then....
Ok..we are on the beach and Mario is prob with our group directing us. We found a few friends that wanted to challenge our skills. We,of course, prob will take it all in a ringer...a shoe-in,right???
Prizes all around for good sportsmanship and skill....
A few flowers for fragrance and color...Margaret,thinking of you and your neat arrangements...had to re-arrange my bouquets as some were dying...one neighbor brought some flowers back that I gave her back; were too strong, she said, allergic to lilies...at least she was not allergic to irises(maybe Iris???) LOL That is fine, she gave me a vase that I had given and that is wonderful;needed the vase;plastic shampoo bottle turned-over!
Along comes a new Bear Beach Bud...Bearyappreciative and she says:
Will say hello to everyone, when I return from pharmacy,I know what you mean faith abt the Targets and the shop ctrs. We have lots here and the environ issues and trees really is a concern. I am a tree-lover and love nature...so,I hv had a hard time where my parents live as so many large trees from farms were cut. I love Target, too, and all stores...just there has to be a balance in nature and that is the key...harmony and balance. JMO
Happy Memorial Day...I was reflecting upon the holiday and remembering how we celebrated as a child. There were parades, picnics and services and you know...I see that still, what a wonderful tradition! To all our armed forces members that are with us and to those who have gone on before us,thank you!
Iris/bearlysane and bearlybrained today...just deleted a bunch of Photobucket pics by error...oh,well...the blanks will match my blank head!

Good Evening Beach friends. I had a wonderful afternoon at the lake yesterday and pretty much lazed around the house today, napping and watching movies on HBO. I really need to check into that NetFlix thing.
Susan -- I'm so happy to see you pop in. How are things going for you these days?
Neesie -- does your 'special therapy' include shopping? If it does then I'm pretty proficient already. That is one huge tom turkery. All I've got to say is......THANKSGIVING IS AT NEESIE'S HOUSE THIS YEAR!!! One nice thing about having 'square' produce is that it should be much easier to store. ROFL!
Footprints -- I hope you are having a wonderful memorial weekend. I surely remember the agent orange issues and how hard it was for some to get the proper care they deserved.
Margaret -- I will try to round up my friends here for the next couple of weekends and talk them into making a day of seeing the new Indiana movie. I just had some potato soup as well and I used your tip about mixing the gravy mix with warm water before adding to the soup and I hardly had any lumps this time.
Neesie -- you must have been really really bored to do all that housework. Please come be bored at my house next!
Sahalie -- Willie is one of my favorite country singers too but I don't hear much from him anymore. I guess he's retired. LOL at the 'leave all your money here' line. Isn't that the truth only now they are saying it at the gas stations. I would love to see a Pottery Barn but it seems they haven't made it down this way yet.
Faith -- it looks like our beach babies have grown inches in just the past few weeks. What cute little baby toes.
IrisAngel -- congrats on the new shower curtain. Just one of those little things that can make such a big difference.
Faith -- the birthday list is an interesting idea. Our store of multiple and many locations is Walmart. Which really works out well since I'm a wallyworld addict.
Amy -- missing you and hoping that chemo is still going okay. How are the antibiotics working on the MRSA?
Sahalie -- I wanted to surprise you but I just can't keep it a secret anymore. I've nominated you for 'cruise director'. You always think of such fun things for us to do and lovely places for us to go. And...don't even get me started on the cool cabana boys you find for us!!!
Wings -- I hope you are having a wonderful time on you motorcycle weekend. I can't wait to hear about your adventures.
IrisAngel -- I used to watch all the western shows on TV like Bonanza, Rawhide, etc. Not so much the movies but I just may start. They show such a simpler time.
Well, hugs to all from A to Z.

The surprise party last night was great, up to and including Elvis, who dropped in for a few minutes. Then my sister took my hubby, kids and me out for a champagne brunch - I did nothing the rest of the day!
Neesie, what did you think of my crab quiche?
Sahalie, the Indiana Jones movie was fine, entertaining, but not as exciting as when I was younger. Your shopping yesterday sounds like soooo much fun. How about some bocce ball?
Faith, those babies are just too cute. Oh, and did I eat this weekend - yes, A LOT.
Iris, I love tuberoses, reminds me of Hawaii. A few years ago I planted some and they were blooming at Halloween. I had brownies baking and some kids came up to the door. I gave them candy and the mom was asking me what smelled so good and I told her brownies - she said no, it's outside...it was my tuberoses. You can't help but take deep breaths when they are around.
Birthday list that I know so far:
Dec. 13 - Faith
Jan. 11 - Margo
Aug. 11 - IrisJaz, how was the lake? My girls, my sister, and I are going to see Sex in the City next Saturday night and then going to dinner and hubby is babysitting so we can have our girls night out. Definitely mix the gravy in with water or chicken broth first before mixing it into the soup. I had it yesterday. No Pottery Barns in your area yet?
Will be back tomorrow.

Good Morning all and a Happy Memorial to all!
Pausing for a moment to reflect on all of our Servicemen and women, past and present.............
Faith........love the pic of the teeny feet! Glad your trip went well to Chicago......I know you couldn't be in MI next weekend....another trip I'm thinking??
Margo......I love the quiche! It's the 2nd. time I've made it.......so easy and so GOOD! (I've still got a box of 2 pie crusts in my fridge....from the first time when I thought I needed them!)
Glad you had a good time at friends party!
Jaz..............Glad you had a good time at the lake....or river.....atleast it was water.........and you enjoyed yourself!
So, you like the Tom Turkey hanging around here, eh? Thanksgiving here.....sounds good to me! Wild Turkey and Square Vege's for all!!
INJURED MAN ALERT.............................(translated to mean.....stupid or stubborn man alert!)...............He has done something to his thumb/wrist area.....can't move it without pain.........sounds like tendonitis to me.....but 'who am I'....................think it could have something to do with planting 600 and some bulbs of garlic yesterday?????????????????
You all must think I live on a huge farm that specilizes in wild animals and wierd produce.................Not so.................I live on a mere 2 1/2 acres....it just happens to be an interesting 2 1/2 acres!!
Sahalie...........I would have loved it if all would have shown up at my door in various flip flops Saturday Night! One day.......we'll have a 'real' beach party........but you must promise to bring the wonderful Cabana Boys with you!
Cruise Director for sure.............you have a knack for planning both Fun and Food.............(even if the Limbo just about took me out!)
Wings.........still out and about I believe..........hoping you are having a great time with Hubby and bike!
Iris..........Always writing us such interesting posts! Hope you're enjoying some of the holiday weekend and doing something for Iris! Did you get your Jeep trouble cleared up? I'm glad to hear that you did some "therapy" and bought the new Shower Curtain! Isn't it funny how a simple change can make us feel better?? Unlike my DH who believes everything is good for atleast 20 years!
Hoping your folks are doing okay and that you don't have to many appts and such with them this week................it can be exhausting for sure....
I've got a funny (but not so funny) story about my Mom to tell you.....I'll be back....kinda afraid I'm gonna get 'timed out' by the 'oh dear' lady if I don't submit this soon!
