ok cmb...Don't get too upset here, but that is about the GROSSEST thing I have ever heard...no need to ask why he's an ex!

You know what sux? (ok, in the grand scheme of things maybe not but still....) waiting, and waiting, and waiting for service people to come. I got up at the crack of before dawn today to do my house cleaning and shower so that I was ready during the window I was given for the chimney sweep to come and he's apparently coming towards the end of the time frame! Ugh, I am not much for sitting still - unless I've had a cocktail or two (to early for that even in my house!) so this is just killing me. I even painted my finger nails...how bored am I? I usually only paint them if I'm going out to dinner, a wedding or a funeral. My gf was shocked when I came down with make up and nails done on a Saturday...she thought I was confused about what day of the week it was.

    blah...maybe I'll just have a nip :)

    happy day everyone...

Fly, I have to agree.  That sucks.  And if they can't come why don't they call?  Too busy I guess but it's just common courtesy.

Bonnie,  I too am waiting for Comcast to get here to figure out why I cannot use the phone and the internet at the same time.   I still have an hour an a half in time frame "window" they said...  All dressed up and no where to go !!!    But with temps in the teens, I prefer a warm place to hang out.

    Hugs, Happy Long Weekend.    Nancy

Well...technically the have til 1pm...but I can't wait 1 minute past that for them...I have to go to Baltimore today. At least I look good :)

Too bad I just went to LL Bean (ssshhh, don't tell Kelly) and spent $75.00. Eh, beats drinking or smoking out of boredom (kind of).

Nancy - are you getting together with the girls today? If so, tell them I said hi and I'm really sorry they can't see me looking like a girl :)

No, Bonnie.   Nadine and I decided to cancel.  Christina has to work.  Check email.

Technically I have until 2:00, so I can stew and fidget for a while.  I am about ready to cook some food, and you can bet that the tech will arrive just as I put the first bite in my mouth...

LOL, that's for sure...I must have missed the email...I checked them a bit ago and didn't see it. Would be glad to reschedule at my house if you all want...or we can do it at nadines...either way.

try not to get to annoyed waiting...easy to say, hard to do! I'm going to go call and let them know they blew it for today and I have to leave...have a good day! Are you watching the pittsburgh game tomorrow?

Hugs Traci----I get it! Somedays I find it all too overwhelming to think on.......

Did I miss something about Kbug, sloane & lisa??????????

OK--just gotta say----WTF??? Are we SO inculturated that we think natural body hair is a bad thing????  Think about getting stranded on a deserted island--think about going back to tribal living & hunter/ gatherers!!!!  LOL & get over it!~!!!!!!!!  OMG---- !!!! I'm LMAO

So now I want to offer a different perspective about our "mutilations"-----I KNOW well it takes a while for us to acccept our new bodies after sx (HUGS Barbe). IF I was a model, nude beach-go-er or steam bath afficiando I'd STILL go! I still wear my formal-wear from b4 sx & my scars & port are often visible--it took me a bit to get to the point I could do this. But everyone KNOWS I had bilateral & recon already--so I say-look at it & see what that means! our scars are banners for our survival! I don't mean to be unkind or insensitive, but maybe if more ppl actually SAW us it would REALLY bring a new awareness to bc. I guess I'm just pragmatic & believe that reality should be more accepted than it is.......bc & tx IS reality.......why do we let society force us to hide truths????? (I AM guilty, too!)

    Facts is facts----be well & stay strong-HUGS

No worries about being standed on a desert island Saint.  I have had no pit hair on the radiated side and likely one or two strands on the "good" side.  And if that wasn't the case I'd bring a razor before I got stranded on that island of yours.Laughing

Ok, I will bring razors and dental floss, toothpaste and toothbrushes.  I assume if it's an island we can swim to stay smell free.  And I'm not in the habit of sticking my nose in dh's pits.

LOL...you guys are too funny! Saint...I'd rather walk around DC naked than stick my nose in a hairy arm pit...but then again back in the day of dating guys, I wouldn't date one that had a pinky ring or a braclet either! I have issues, never denied it!

Saint I didn't get a reconstruction! It is flat and scarred. Once I get a tattoo on it, look out! Right now one side is caving in and the other is swelling out to, oh about a B cup, right now. Might as well have had a unilateral!

I haven't been wearing foobs either, so I am really brave. Back at work in sales and wearing pretty clothes again, just no breasts. See, I'm a big girl now!

Either everyone (who didn't know) is too polite to say anything, or they don't notice. When I do tell someone it is so fun to watch their eyes drop to my chest...

LOL, I'm a uniboob and I find the same thing Barbe.  Before surgery I thought whoever looked at my chest I'd lay 'em flat but now I find it kind of humorous.  And besides, who could blame 'em for trying to get a quick glance?

I have a boob-and-a-half, which I also find amusing now that I've gotten over the initial shock.  I usually even them up for work, but when I am just being casual, I like to leave them as is & wear something that makes it a little obvious that something is different & then watch for people to try to figure out why one nipple is 3" higher than the other.  I know, a little sick, but we're entitled to have a laugh over this whole adventure, aren't we??

I say if you can get a laugh outta this GO FOR IT!!!!!

Hugs Barbe------I have watched ppl's eyes drift over my chest area for over 8 years now. We are all different. We each have to find our own way to get thru this. I just wish it was easier when dealing with others since the rest of it is tough enough without having to worry about what "they are thinking!" t just sux, but that's the way it is!

Fly----issues??? Don't we all---it's just that that particular one makes me LOL........do tell!

    Hey Nicki----big hugs!

I learned something the other day. Here it is:

What other people think of you is none of your business!

Kind of takes the worry out of it all doesn't it? Eases the pressure to care somewhat...

I agree Barbe----but there is a larger "THEY" called society-at-large & I think much of what is forced on us is BS........but I love your spunk!!!! You seem like someone who can take good care of herself!

I just cruised around the active posts & was appalled at the political stuff I read----seems to me that if you just surround yourself with like-minded ppl you will NEVER learn anything new, stretch yourself or have to truly defend your views........guess ppl have to learn that when it comes ot politics. "..if we don't agree, you are a jerk!!!!"  Isn't that true no matter WHICH side you are on??????  More of the same immature, shallow stuff some ppl never get over.  Oh well! Hope I never forget these lessons, but having CLOSE friends who are diamnetrically opposed to my views keeps me honest ......& open!

    Hugs--be well & stay strong

Eh. I spent the better portion of my first 40+ years worrying about what others think. For the past 2 years it's been easier to let it go.  I'm just trying to curb my natural obnoxiousness/snarkiness and hoping for the best.  Dare I say that I wasn't exactly popular in my youth - too shy and bookish - and was deemed untouchable for most of my grade/middle school years.

Which leads to the IOS/SOI for the day. A co-worker friend and I are doing this 1/2 marathon training thing. I go to the gym, but running hasn't really been in the picture for a few years. Ok. Several. Or a lot. Today was the 2nd week & a 2.5 mile run. Just as we are getting ready to go out with the group, this woman turns to me and says, "But first, I have to ask, your name is Pam, isn't it? I went to elementary school with you."  I about fell over - yes, we went to school together & we were friends. I havent' seen her since i got married ~25 years ago. The IOS was running. Good God. Shoot me now and put me out of my misery. Babies crawl faster than I can run. I need new shoes, Superfeet insoles, and something done with my arches.

I wish I knew why there was so much suckiness. It's so unnecessary.  Like armpit hair. Exactly what is it's function?  My mom, bless her heart, has never had to shave anything. She has flaunted that for as long as I can remember & she just doesn't get it.  If I were stuck on a desert island, I'd have to keep my arms down for the duration. The professor would be creating a razor faster than a boat to get us off.

Mean people suck (love that bumper sticker). I see it start and I just want to sit in a corner and cover my head.

Anyhoo, my husband is still out of town, the Tivo is recording the Barrett-Jackson car auction, so I'm going to put my feet up, open up the split of sparkling wine, read my trash book, and enjoy the quiet.

    No suckiness all.

Wow~  Now I get why others can't or won't go back to respond to all that happened in their 2 day absent! WHew!  Lot to read and so much to remember...

So....BIG OLD THAT SUCKS to those who deserve one!

Congrat to those with SOI's to report in their posts!

And wishes for an abundance of SOI's to each of you for the rest of this week :)

Jane~ Good Luck with chemo tomorrow.  Know you are being kept company by many arms offering congrats through {{hugs}} :D

I finally got the reason why my phone disconnects the internet..  The wireless router is the same frequency as my phone and only one signal can work at a time...   This was AFTER the idiot showed up an hour and half after the appointment "window" .  He had never heard of such a problem, so he gets on his cell phone for almost an hour with HIS tech support.   If they had only asked what kind of phone I had in the first place, and told me to get another one...   BTW, by the way,  many routers are 2.4 MH, so a phone with the same will shut off the internet connection...   I thought this was 2009 and technology had advanced beyond such things.

The SOI is that I did get to the regular session of bingo and won a game.  Also "bingo bucks" as a door prize and birthday drawing prize.  The month of your birthday you get to draw for a dabber or bingo bucks.   So, Today I go off to buy a new phone with my winnings.

Sorry that my brain cannot process each of your IOS.  Even a few hours away and too many SUCKINESS issues. THAT SUCKS as needed,  and I hope to watch the Steelers or at least part of the game on TV.

Just one more comment:  I have a Breast Cancer Sucks sweatshirt. When I wear it I notice ppl will look at my chest, but no one has made one single comment.   HUGS,  Nancy
