Too many pages to read- away for a weeks vacation w dh. Dream- thanks for info re SSD payments for dd going into college.
Hope today is a good day for all...Elaine

Just a quick flying by to mark my spot.
Elaine is right. There's no way I could catch up with all the posts but I have stopped by from time to time and checked in on everyone here.
Fortunately my life hasn't sucked for the past couple of weeks. The only "that sucks" is work. From late November to the end of April, things get just too hectic at my work. Definitely the busiest time of the year which lasts way too long. At this time of the year, I work at least 14 hours a day and when things become even more hetcic in March and April, it gets like 16 hours a day. Crazy huh? I barely get any spare time for myself. Oh well.
Hope everyone has an IOS free day. Beddy time for me. Nighty nite.

So Fumi? I take it your in the cpa field? Glad you've no ios
One of my IOS, a kitty has taken up residence under my back deck and is keeping the birds away from their feeders which they desperately need in this weather. Only about 3 months old from what I can see. Feel bad for him/her, but.....
Other one is dd spent the night last night Her beau decided yesterday to start drinking again when he got together with his Iraq buds It's hopefully something she can make a lasting decision about....the kid is great until he takes a drink ;( I can empathize as he's full of shrapnel from when his bud was killed by an IED, but still.....Just sad...

WhaSux?? Hugs & a big THAT SUX to all who need either.
EWB---just my 2 cents, but I noticed you hail from NJ & Dream is in Canada-----I'm in US too & when I checked for my son his ssd (due to MY stageIV dx) is up when he graduates from HS------just when he'll REALLY need it for college!!! I read somewhere that Ronald Reagan's admin changed that way back when......so look into it b4 you bank on anything!
Hugs Wish----I so hate war & what our guys have to bring back with them!! Hard to walk away from someone under those circumstances, but ultimately it is the same issue as any alcoholic & your poor dd has to choose how she wants to live out her life....Prayers for her decision.
Timtam---nice to see you-don't be a stranger!
AKA----light at the end of the tunnel must be getting blindingly bright!!!!!! YaaaHoooooooo
Be well & stay strong

Hi, Fumi!!! Glad you checked in.
Just wanted to say in general after what Saint said on last page that for those of you who have not hit menopause yet, either natural or treatment or surgery induced, I've found being post-menopausal has been the biggest boon to my not giving a rodent's tush what anyone thinks of me. And OTOH, having breast cancer has taught me the other side of the coin, which is that it's made me a lot more forgiving & chilled out about the dumb crap that people do sometimes say (including some of the people who love me the most). I'm not Pollyanna or a martyr, but stuff just rolls off the ol' back like teflon these days. It's WONDERFUL!! I haven't stopped having opinions, I guess I just feel more live-and-let-live, ya know? After having BC, most stuff is piddly-diddly by comparison. It's a relief, too, to have a thread like this where we can say what we want (well, mostly, certain ghosties who get nice nurse friends kicked off notwithstanding).

Man....am I glad that day is over!!!
Felicia....((((hugs)))) Sorry girl. I thought they were coming back to take it home!!! That sucks.
((((((Fumi)))))
Kudos to the chick going topless. I wish I had 1/100th of her self esteem.
I'm with you Kathi....let it roll off the back like water on a duck!
I forget everything else I just read. Imagine that.
So, I went to vacuum my couch today....something I do about every 3 weeks....and I realized that the precious new kitty has scratched holes in my red sofa. The little b*tch!!!!! I'm not sure how long this relationship is going to last. I like her, but I can't afford a new sofa. So....in the meantime....I took out those "lame" napkins my mom bought me 7 years ago and have laid them across the back of my sofa. Think it will help?
In the good news department....I went online to Amazon and found my sister a collector's edition of the entire Sex In The City show for $89.00. She's gonna love it. She's never been a cable gal and has only ever seen a few episodes and the other night we were hanging out trying to find something on t.v. (she just broke her foot dancing...lol!!!) and she was bummed cuz we couldn't find a SITC rerun. I can't wait to give it to her. It's the little things isn't it?
Love you guys.

Wish, if dd is receptive to it, she should find an al-anon group. I am a recovering AA and I know how Al-Anon can really help those we've taken captive when we were active.
My IOS - The computer at the restaurant where I do the books sh!t to bed and I couldn't run payroll today so nobody got paid. So, tomorrow, after chemo, I'm going to have to have the geek squad meet me at work so I can get that computer up and running so people can get paid...not exactly what I want to do after a 6 hour transfusion of Taxol, but I have no choice.
0 -
Sorry abou the computer issues, Jane. Sux that you'll have to do that after your last chemo. You should be out celebrating...
Bonnie - sorry about the birds! It was a great game thought! I really thought they were gonna come back, but it wasn't meant to be...
Hi Saint, Fumi, Wish, Nancy, Kathi, EWB and saint! Good to see you all are relatively IOS-free (Edited to wave hello to Pam, Sharon and Barbe too)...
And a hearty "That sux!" to all who need it...

Felicia.....lol.....sorry girl, my brain doesn't work anymore. You be Giants....Bonnie be Eagles.... I said sorry to you last week after you said sorry to me the week before!!!! Man, this year sucked.
Go Steelers!!! (((Jane))) Computers suck.

Hello TRACI!!!
Man, I go out of town for a few days and you guys write seven pages........Sorry for all the suckiness, no way I can remember it all, just a big "THAT SUCKS" to all who need it and gratitude for any SOIs out there.
The mean girl thang--I don't get it, and I don't want to. Wish it WASN'T here. This should be a safe place.
Wish, glad your Lucifer is okay. I actually have a cat like that, her name is Miss Muffin because she struts around so proudly....
My SOI--went too Georgia to see relatives and had a wonderful visit. I invited them all to my stepdads house and ccooked them soup and corn bread--I got to see them all and didn't have to run all over the country!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great day. Traci, are you off today?

WhaSux?
A fly-by to "mark my spot." We all know who coined that phrase & this includes the absentee who is battling a cold, but still reading! HUGS
AKA---that puter crap sux---but last chemo ROCKS!! WhooHoooo
Traci--I should do that SITC thing for my sis--she lives in Europe & missed a lot of that show---wonder if she'd still want to watch.......
Kathi----this bc-bs sorta puts everything in perspective! Since bc I can barely stand it when I hear women say they are obsessed with staying young! Getting older is the goal!!! Our culture has put too much emphasis in the wrong places! I think that at 40 you begin to see the light & by 50 you should start to shine it!
IOS-I have a funeral to attend/sing at today. An older friend who seemed healthy as a horse had a heart attack & died while wintering in Az---He was in a couple of spirit-based groups I have belonged to over the years & we were kinda special to each other. I have been friends with his dd for over 30 years (who just lost her mom 8 months ago!), I know & love one of his sons & his wife...this is gonna be a hard one....keep me in your thoughts.
Hugs all & a big THAT SUX if you need it!
Be well & stay strong

Right there with you on the getting old thing, in the back of my mind I always think, "I hope to be that lucky!"
Hello, and a big that sux to all!
0 -
Saint, sorry about your friend's sudden death. How wonderful for you to sing at the funeral. We'll be holding you up in spirit to give you strength. It's sure not going to be easy. You most definitely will be in my thoughts.

{{{{Saint}}}} so sorry about your friend and his death so sudden. Never a right time for death, but always a time for prayer. You and they will be in mine today.
Bonnie? You wanted 2 feet of snow...let's just clarify for the record, you are one NUTTY woman! Unless of course, you don't mind shoveling up hill to get out of your drive, shoveling to get to the garage, shoveling or wearing boots up to your ya-ya to keep from getting chafed wearing cold wet snow melting in your pants, socks, shoes, mittens/glove and down your shirt b/c it's blowing so bad that even layers aren't able to keep it all out! Then there's opening your car door BEFORE you remember to wipe away the foot of it on top of the car and the drift over the window that is now laying on the seat! UGH......... then trying to see over th 6-8 foot snow piles along the drive b/c the county has taken 22 feet of your front drive thus reducing the area you used to spread the snow, so now instead of 2-4 banks, they are too tall to see over to get out of the drive:( do you still want 2 feet of snow? We had over 4 feet in december, before winter officially started Okay...done with my rant...........
SOI...dd's ex-beau is coming to get his bed, and w/d out of the garage. Should I laugh out loud when he realizes that the drive to that garage has NOT been plowed this winter and thus has the entiire 4 feet still there, plus the plow crap the county has dumped doing the roads? This should make me a very fine SOI today as I watch he and his best drinking buddy shovel a way out! ROFL WIth one shovel and a garden shovel! ROFL I will be enjoying today!
BIG that sux to those needing it today! Rest assured you are all in my prayers and thoughts!

Hahaha Wish, I say anyway we can get a laugh is a good way. Can you take pics?

They aren't here yet. I bet he'll regret the slip to drinking with this dbud after they see that the john deere & plow is also parked just inside the overhead door they'll need to extricate the stuff out of. and NO, I will NOT allow these guys to use his little tractor. It's about 55-60 years old and fickle as old men are to boot. I don't even use it anymore. IT always stops on me. So that should be another under the breath comment I get from the two of them
Man, IF only I had surveilance type cameras out that worked! You could all laugh along with me! LOL

Here is my HUGE gripe right now... I think it sux that we get so many different treatments... our doctors all say different things... I have been told I DO NOT need rads by BS last week... rads doctor STILL has not called me... but I just KNOW he will offer them to me... I HATE making the decisions at this point in my life. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..

Wish - could I help? (Damn tamox whiskers and all?!) I could bite his butt before I kicked it!
Susan

Hugs (((( saint )))), sorry your friend died. BAY, estepp -- the rad onco had not phoned me back yet either. I had one visit with her before surgery and "only" 10% have bad side effects... like that is something to look forward to??? I also read that some will not do rads while on Herceptin, so that could draw this out until the end of the year.
Bonnie, did you ever live in a place that regularly got 2 feet of snow? Shovelling it gets pretty old very fast. Even with a snow blower it is hard work only to be repeated over and over again. I do not miss snow at all.
HUGS, Nancy

Susan, come on over, whiskers and all. I'm sure a shot of good ol' southern comfort would thaw those whiskers out!
Well, nearly peed my pants when I saw the looks on their faces as they said they'd just haul it from the garage to the drive that is plowed. Well, it was before the last 6 inches anyway. Tennis shoes, no gloves, no coat, no hats. Hmmmmm...I bundled up and unlocked the garage for them and laughed as they filled their tennies and pants legs carrying the stuff over the feet of snow in front of the garage at the other drive. Then, the fun began..........
Idiots (and I use that rather the name they deserve only b/c these men are vets) They got the truck stuck next to my car. Big uhaul. Finally after 2 neighbors called to make sure they were supposed to loading th truck up and leaving....nice to have neighbors watching th house anyway...I finally yanked the young pup from the drivers seat as one neighbor showed up to offer kitty litter to help......told them to grab shovels and get to hauling the stuff that the plows left at the end of the drive an back it up. I thought I'd lost the transmission at one point, but this ol' lady got her done to the cheers of those young studs 1/2 my age. how did they ever survive in the sands of Iraq I wonder LOL
So, th day is quiet and taxes are beckoning....stay safe, warm and healthy today friends!

Wish - You are the woman!!! Shout out to you, sister!!

Susan, that horse's whiskers gave me a good chuckle. I've gotta do something with mine often and with eyes not so good......I likely miss more than I pluck. But at least I have a few less than the muzzle on that horse. Chin hair sucks.
Wish, sorry we can't see the fun.

Hi Ladies...hope everyone had a suck free day! Has anyone heard from LuAnn? I'm dying to hear how her trip went!
Wish...ditto on you being da' bomb! It drives me nuts when people around here don't know what to do when it snows....which leads me to...
Nancy ~ yes, I spent 5 years in Connecticut and while I didn't much like having to shovel my spot on the street just to have some "burb" idiot come into town and park there (I'd shovel them back in and leave a not when they did that - Respect The Chair!!) I still love the snow. In 2005 I finally bought my dream car (ok, almost dream because it wasn't a 1965) a mustang. Then for 2 winters in a row I paid hell because it was rear wheel drive and didn't do well with even the tiniest bit of snow (not to mention I couldn't find a bike rack to fit it). Fast forward to trading it for an SUV with four wheel drive and we've had maybe 3 inches of snow since I did that! GRRRRR....I WANT SNOW DANG IT!!!!
I picked up my supplies for tomorrows festivities...mimosa's (it's about all I can drink that doesn't bother my liver) and I was so psyched for them - I had to dip into them tonight
Off to surf the boards...hope everyone is staying warm, pain free and IOS free!

Well, jeepers, the fun just never ends. Sat down after heating up left over dinner and the neighbor guy shows up with HIS little J.deere and plow. So, kind of felt I had to go and shovel, dang it all Oh well, brought him in for a beer after and at least dh won't have to spend friday this week, digging us out again! Sweet neighbor, lousy timing Man it is cold out there yet~ says 13 now but that wind is staggering bitter Then tonight it's supposed to hit minus 3 again? Okay, dear ARCTIC!! You have our undivided attention! NOW knock it off with the snow and cold already! Brrrrrrrrrrrr....
Enjoy a mimosa for me too, ?
Did LuAnn already leave for texas? Oh my, how did I miss that!? Hope its a great time for all 3 of them

don't want to be a party pooper but i have a serious question to ask. have any of you considered assisted living? i'm starting to think about it mainly because 2 of my adult kids are on my case more and more. i know they're a bit paniced about what's been going on with me and we don't live around the corner exactly....but. i'm feeling pressured. i don't think i'm there yet and if i have to give up everything then what's the point of fighting on. the average age for that is almost 20 years older than i am. i'm trying to make things as easy for them as possible ie planning for the future so decisions are in place for them. but i was depressed about my situation before and now today after 6 screaming calls from my daughter calling me irrational, i'm really ready to chuck it all. i'm not irrational, i've got cancer spreading in my belly...big difference to me. my daughter called my friends and relatives today when i finally would not answer the phone anymore. well that's it...i was just wondering what some of you are planning for the future. i know not all of us have loving caring spouses. maria
