Guess what? I know a ton of really kickass women, really funny, smart, beautiful, awesome women, both in real-life and here on the boards, and not a single one of them (especially me!) was one of the popular girls in high school. Considering there was only about 10 of them in each class, my theory is the rest of us WAAAAY outnumber the popular set once we get out here in the real world. And that's my Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy thought for the day! LOL

Whoops! Edited to add - well, for all I know, all y'all besides me and Blue were voted Most Popular in high school - didn't mean to make assumptions.

    Hey--WhaSux???

I have spent lots of hours on the phone with Dream & we were roomies in Vegas.....SHE IS DA BOMB!! Hugs Dreamy & Harley---didn't mean for you to feel you were ignored (I sometimes feel that way myself!)--but we all get ignored from time to time, so that should make you feel included & just like everyone else!! LOL

Traci----you make me PMP! Your post about panty hose reminded me of a funny story:

I was working in an elementary school in a poorer part of town. I spent one morning a week with the kindergarten. I often dressed up (as I wear what I have!) The Art teacher was in the front of the room, the kids were sitting on the floor & I was behind them. My extremely troubled child was at my feet & began stroking my hose covered leg while the other kids watched. When I got up to walk thru them EVERY kid reached out to touch my legs!!!  It was hysterical, but MOST of those kids had NEVER seen hose & I had to show them that it could be pulled away from my ankle & was not my skin!!!! At lunch the Art teacher & I were LOL recounting the story to others saying it looked like a porn film with all those little hands stroking my legs!!!!!!!

    Be well & stay strong

Count me stupid, have no idea what UGG boots are?

Yes, you may offer up that group {{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}} Right back at ya, Sharon and the rest! :D

BIG that SUX to those continuing with IOS's :(  Wishiwere there to help out and bring you some SOI's :)

Update on Lucy (aka Lucifer).  Vet called, and no CANCER was seen in the tissue taken. While that's great news, what they found was indicative of a lymphocytic something or other, as in the body fighting a foreign object.  He then said, the report also said, that b/c no neoplasm was seen on this 1/4 inch deep sample, does not exclude a neoplasm further into the area.  WTH?  Why did just pay $277?  Anyway...he also said he froze a blood sample in case it came back without cancer.....oh yeah, another $80 to test that blood for Thyroid, right? NOT! :(

My feelings on this now, that since this is acting like a autoimmune or such, that it's likely a thyroid issue, or could maybe even be from the other kitty scratching her maybe?  So,we will go next tues for staple removal (although one of three has already been pulled out by her), and talk more to him then.  Regardless, she is not throwing up or gagging up the food or anything, so I'm thinking she's doing okay.  At this point, I'm thinking wait and see how this lump progresses or regresses.

I am SOoooooooooooo very thankful for you all going through this and supporting me in my fears.  although we call her lucifer, she is a great little kitty who's now become my lap kitty.  Before this, she could never sit long enough to fall asleep on ones lap.  So, thank you to each for your support :D Best buds a girl with a kitty could have :D

UGG boots are incredibly warm I understand.  I don't know because they are a little pricey too.  But I hear they are great winter boots.

I'm on my way out so will check in later.  Going out in this bitter cold sucks.  But if that's my biggest suckiness for today I am very fortunate.

Hugs (from afar:)) to Lucy. HEHEHE.

It's about -14F here this morning Wish.  Colder with the wind chill.   I don't think we've had as much snow as you but I for one have had enough of winter.  I must go and warm up the car.

Traci and Blue - there are more than three, unfortunately...

Dream, sorry about your bone scan. I haven't had one - just bone density tests - and had no idea it was painful. Who thinks up this sutff?!? Obviously someone who has never needed to have any of these pain-inducing test performed on their own bodies.

And as far as being friendless in high school - you've more than made up for it in adulthood! Just look at all the folks (like me!) who gladly call you a friend. And you didn't sound like a whiner - but even if you did, it would be ok here as that's what this thread is for, lol...

We'll be there sweet friend! :D

Thanks.  I have ended this weeks career as a human pincushion (needles only).  I had to have blood tests to get the port put in at the end of Jan.  And they hunted me down to tell me... so I went right after my bone scan.  The bone scan was 4 attempts.  The blood test was another 5 attempts.  Then they called me Tues to say the blood clotted so they need more blood.  And I said... Well gee I have a CT tomorrow, I will drop in and do it then.  Did they mention getting an IV so they could take the blood and give me the ct scan injection... NOOOOOOO.  So they stabbed me 3 times for blood.  And another 2 times by an IV nurse who said, hey honey I could have done this and got the blood sample.... GRRRR.  But is all over and the bruises will heal... NOW thats WHINING.

Sorry it was so crappy dream.  I hate when they have to dig around for a vein.  Thankfully where I go for they are wonderful at getting blood first try and without bruising but where I go to my GP they are terrible.

Dreamwriter, it sounds like you have issues with blood draws.  I do too.  Do you know what type of port you are getting?  There are different types, and some of them can be used for blood draws as well as infusions.  If you're getting a port anyway, you may as well get one that will give you a rest from being a human pin cushion.  And don't forget to get a prescription for Emla creme to numb the skin over the port before it is accessed.  For some reason, the oncologists don't always give you that prescription unless you ask for it.

Saint - the panty hose story is so similar to mine!  But, my little one would rub her mouth up and down my leg during story time!!!  Yikes, I had to have her sit in the back, 'cuz that was just a bit too distracting!

Last year, I had the "hand rubbers" - and one who wanted to know if I realized I had funny skin on my legs!!  Yup, they don't see panty hose too often!

I am getting a port that can be accessed for blood draws and for getting the bone medication (Pamidronate).  I am worried because my nurse said they would give me conscious sedation... and that could mean local.... and last time I had a port it was really painful.  But she said IV sedation so hopefully it will be something else.  I am taking my daughter with me, and taking a cab home.  But she took the time to hunt me down (I was in the hospital next door) and helped with the IV they werent being too successful giving me for the bone scan.  Right now I am fighting my stomach... the CT scan has left me with a chemical taste on my breath and it is making me sick.  I have been sipping ginger ale but it isnt helping.  Well Im off to bed.  Good night ladies. Talk to you tomorrow.... Im leading my writing circle tomorrow... with a meditation piece and everything... having the CT scan took my mind off being worried.

Dream...consider sour lemon drops (or any sour) to rid your mouth of that taste! Also, I had conscious sedation as well with my port - it was bizzarre, I was slightly aware of things going on but I felt no pain what-so-ever! At the time I still had paralysis in my left hand from nerve damage during my surgery, the pain meds were so good I could move my hand! I remember being just fascinated that it moved with no pain. Of course, once the sedation wore off it was back to being stiff but it was nice to know there was hope of moving it again! (I now have full motion and 90% of the feeling back in that hand)

I have class today so I don't know if I'll be able to check in so I want to wish everyone an IOS free day!

WhaSux? Can you say -45 degree or colder wind-chill?? No school tho-so I guess that would be a big SOI to me! (IOS for others)

Hugs Dream--I asked for light sedation for my port sx---I remember most of it, but it was painless & the PA held my hand most of the time (seems I was trying to scratch my nose!)  I recovered FAST & spent the day shopping & lunching with my sis (she had requested a personal day so we could play long b4 my sx was scheduled & I didn't want to disappoint her---or make her PO'd at me) Be sure to let your anethesiologst KNOW about past experiences & your fear---they usually interview you b4 sx & will give you stuff to calm you as well--yep they can be the most popular docs around! LOL

My only IOS today is that I will have to get dressed to go to a doc app't-----it NEVER fails that when school is cancelled due to weather I have a doc app't!!!!!! (maybe it's cuz I have too many of them?)

Be well & stay strong--AND WARM!!

Marking my spot.   One deep breath, pinch and needle is in my port.   Same on removing needle.   It would take longer to find, open, and put numbing cream on.   Hugs,  nancy

LuAnn, that is such awesome news!!! Where are you going in Texas?? lol...on the too tight jeans. Man, is that the truth!! All of my clothes are too tight!!

Hugs everybody! My boss made me do Facebook. Seriously. We went to a business meeting/marketing seminar (pantihose) and the speaker said that social networking on the internet is a must. She said Facebook is a real easy way for a potential client/customer/strategic alliance to see the 'person' they are dealing with.

I sure am glad there is not too much suckiness going on...hugs to everybody struggling with crap. I hate it that I can't remember all I just read, and am too lazy to take notes!

Sue....where are you? Did I read a post from you and forget it already?

Speaking of cats.....did I tell y'all my sister found one outside of work and it is now mine? Man, this cat is EVERYWHERE! I never had to worry about it with my old, fat cat Dallas...and Jimmy didn't live long enough to get this crazy....Cry. Tomorrow, when I'm at work, I'll try to remember to post a pic of "Bishop". That's the cats name cuz that's the street she was found on.

Anyway, gonna go surf the site for a bit and see what's happening.

    Love y'all,

    Traci
