Ready2Win is right.....actually, mine grew in healthier than BEFORE chemo.   While I am not crazy about the tight curls, it is thicker and softer than it was before.

MIne feels like fur too it's odd. It was very thin before chemo not sure what it's doing now.

Sue--Your hair looks like similar growth to my hair and we are about the same timeframe. I am now going completely without hats/scarfs. Only thing is when the weather isn't great--I still need a hat as my head gets cold. Obviously my hair was an insulator before. Your family is gorgeous.

i only have about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch of hair, but today i took my hat off while i was outside, and could feel the breeze blow through my fuzz or fur! lol!!! it was nice!

OK here is an update on my hair chart. The latest pics are at 19 weeks (well will be 19 on tuesday). You can see the back is getting curly but the font is still straight. Also there is a lot of grey.

Hi Carrol... Did you not cut your hair initially? You have long but sparse hair at 4 weeks PFC.

bdavis no i never shaved my head during chemo and those long pieces just never fell out. I kept them because they hid my baldness under a hat but as my new hair grew in they kind of broke off. Then at 15 weeks I still had all these hairs that were like an inch longer than the rest so i had them trimmed and everything evened out at the salon.

Thanks iowaSue it is filling in now not quite as much as I'd like yet.

sandymess yeah it's looking less like chemo hair but still a bit GI Jane for me. I am still wearing hats over it but as soon as the weather stays warm I will have to ditch them. I am goign to look for some kind of cloth headbands or anything to make it feel more feminine.

thanks Christine47 i def have to see what i can find to fem this up.

hdangelbaby I know the feeling it feels like it takes forever. Some say most peoples hair grows 1/4 inch a month so that would mean it's a year before we would even have 3 inches which is still way too short in my book. But I think mine is growing at about that pace now. It helps a lot to take pics even if just for yourself so you can see the progress over time. I was making myself nuts staring in the mirror.

ChrissyMH I am glad that my pics gave you hope. I saw pics like this when i as going through chemo that helped me feel better, that is why i wanted to share my pics with you all.

Carrol, looking great! I hear you about helmet head. I'm right behind you with the slightly grayer version of what you got. I still can't believe my hair turned black.

I think we both really need some bangs Tongue out Me more than you. I have too much forehead for an oval face without hair.

Lago yeah it will look way better with bangs and some volume on top of some kind so it's not so egg shaped.

This is a pic of me 6 months before my diagnosis. I guess it will be a very long time before my hair is ever this long again. I probably wont go blonde for a while either.

I dont know if anyone saw my previous post?  I wa worried about dyeing my hair so soon cause its just starting to come in, but like you Lago it is coming in very black ( I was always a brunette) and a lot of gray.  But I found at a supplement site Henna for hair so I ordered some.  Have not received it yet but  as soon as it comes and  I contemplate using it I will let you all know how it goes.

Carol- you look great in you before pic. I bet you can relate with me saying I don't see the same person when I look in the mirror, I don't recognize me.

I used a 30 day rinse yesterday and it was dark golden brown it turned out pretty good.

I have been going topless for about three weeks and I am 15 weeks post last chemo. I can deal with the short hair, but the grey is driving me nuts!!!! I'm getting my hair colored on Friday. I will post before and after pictures. :)

Carrol, you will be surprised how fast it starts to come in.   You may have your long hair again before you know it ...

Carberry, I think as long as you stick to temporary or demi (like Natural Instincts) you should be fine....I just always advise doing a patch test on your arm and a strand test on your scalp, just to make sure you have no reaction.
