baf4292, yes I had taxotere (TAC), I appriciate everyones comments.  The hairloss has been by far one of the hardest parts of this BC journey for me.  I am going to try and relax, and stay away from the mirror for a few more weeks.

I check into the Hair thread several times a day to see hope of growth.

allison34 your hair looks great. Is it naturally straight or did you make it that way? My hair was naturally wavy before chemo and that this short length it curls up quite a bit.

Alison, love the hair! I'm looking forward to mine being that 'long!'

marjie, thanks for encouraging me to display my new 'haircut' on here. It has really helped me in accepting myself and getting on with things. I still hide under a bandana when I go out, but I'm working on it. I see my MO on Thursday. Maybe I'll get up the courage to go topless then.Surprised

Alison how cute. Nice to see that I could end up with hair like yours. Still hoping for my hair to stay straight. Thanks for posting

Nice Alison!  I hope my hair stays straight too but it's still too early to tell.  I'm a little suspicious because it's getting quite thick and not sticking straight up....hmmmm.

Sandy - you look just fine, but you'll find your own comfort level soon.  I know the first time out topless for me I felt like everyone was staring, but it just felt SO darn good! Last week I met up with friends at the pub - they hadn't seen my new "do" yet and it was nice to walk in and they couldn't do their "MAAARJ" pirate call at me, because I didn't have the scarf anymore, lol!

Sandymess, I know the feeling...I went out last night topless and then went to radiation that way today and like marjie says, it does feel freeing!

Well, I've got an appt tomorrow for the BRCA test. I can't stand the thought of putting a wig back on--looks to fake to me now. SO...I think I might just do it!

These are pictures taken today at 8 weeks PFC. My hair seems to be colorless in some areas and brown in others. In the last 2 weeks all the hair that was left on my arms during chemo fell out along with most of my eyelashes and eyebrows. CRAP!! I thought I was gonna keep the brows and lashes but looks like I didn't : ) I can see where I have new ones coming in but this whole process seems soo SLOW!!! The hair on my legs though is back growing full force. However, it doesn't seem as coarse.

SANDY! SANDY! SANDY!  You can do it!  Honestly, Marjie is the one who gave me the courage to do it, and as I was getting out of my van today to go in for rads, I thought of everyone on here and that gave me the courage.  Plus, where better to go topless than the Dr.'s who are treating us...they see it all the time and don't think a thing of it!  I'll be thinking about you tomorrow!  (I will admit though that I kept a bball hat in the car incase I chickened out!)

wow Casey. It's coming in so nice an even. If I looked like you at 8 weeks I'd go topless. Your eyebrows will come back pretty quickly. I found my lashes were a bit slower but with eyeliner no one will really know. I didn't lose all the hair on my arms… lucky you.

I bumped the thread about facial fuzz. Anyone else noticing this here. My is very light and noticeable in the sun.

thegood5, you've got a point. I'm going to the cancer center, for crying out loud! Smile

Kasey, your eyes are absolutely gorgeous, you lucky thing!

tracie, too funny! The hair on my thighs, though sparse, is course like that. hee hee

lago, yup. Got the facial fuzz and I'm not happy about it at all!

Thanks Ladies for the compliments. Since being bald I have felt my eyes looked crazy...kinda like Ramona from The Real Housewives of NY. LOL!! I can't wait to go topless. I mainly wear hats and scarves but with the heat we have been having here in SC those are miserable. I've never had short hair and have already started praying I will look good with it b/c now that I know how much cooler it is it's gonna be hard to let it grow longer. Hopefully, I'll be saying, "Once you've had short, you'll never go back". ha,ha

Carrol2- I can't wait for full coverage. In the light it looks like every follicle has hair but some are colorless, maybe the color will come later and make it look full.

Lago- Yes, it looks like my brows will be back to normal within a couple of weeks but the lashes have a long way to go. I have some Latisse and as soon as they are long enough I am gonna start applying.

Christine- I had 6 TAC treatments. I noticed fuzz around 4/5 weeks but nothing dark till about maybe 6 weeks. I JUST within the last few days look in mirror and actually feel like I have some hair. Slowly but surly, it will come : ) I have vowed to NEVER complain about my hair ever again. Yeah Right....We'll see how long that last.

Tracie23- I just cracked up with the peach analogy. That is exactly how I look to.

It was rainy today and I did not wash my hair. I was just cleaning all day. My husbnad comes home and says your hair is curly is that because of the weather? I know he is worried I will look like my mom and really does not like my hair curly. But not much I can do about it now until it gets longer. I have been thinking about extensions and soon as it is long enough and maybe a keratin straightener. I am glad to finally have hair but i still feel like wearing hats.

Kasey,  I know we "chatted" once before, I thought you also did TAC.  I finished my TAC 3 weeks and 5 days ago (but who is counting).  I am heading to the beach ( Myrtle Beach), later this week, maybe that sand and salt will make my hair sprout.  Guess it is hats and scarfs in the pool and ocean.  I alway worry about loosing my bathing suit in the waves, this time I will be worried about loosing the head gear too.  Tongue out  Still hanging on to the brows and lashes, at least as of today.
