When I try to take a picture of the back of my head and forget to leave my head down lol....had 5 of these shots!

I trim it oon the first of the month to keep it neat and measure how much it has grown. It is so sparse that if it is much longer it looks ridiculous. Actually, my last chemo was 10/10/14 so that makes it 21.5 months😏

hi bosumBlues - I have not tried Rogain because it is expensive and I understand that if you stop using it whatever gains you've made fall out. I'm on femara too.

kateink are you in the USA?

I use generic Monoxidil from Costco. It too use the mens' once a day. a 6 month supply (which lasts me a year because I only use it once a day) costs me about $25 including tax and shipping. (They don't sell the liquid in my local store so I order online). $25 a year…I can do that.

I used to use the Walgreens generic. I would wait till it went on sale for BOGO. Found it was much cheaper going the Costco route. Never did try the CVS.

eyeliner works well if you don't have lashes or they are sparse. Latisse is way out of most folks' budget, especially after paying for cancer treatment.

Anyone here done chemo twice and had a total change in hair color? First photo in December 2015 after Taxotere and Carboplatin. Second photo in July 2016 after Adriamycin, Cytoxan, and Taxol. Brunette and then blonde!

Lagos and bosumBlues- thanks for the info. I'll have to look into it. I read somewhere that it makes facial hair grow as well - something I don't want more of 😏

I'm glad someone mentioned facial hair. I have it like sideburns. What is this? Anyone else?

Kateink the only time I had problems is when I used the men's 2X a day. If you use the men's once a day and still have issues then switch to the women's. And the hair was peach fuzzish not like a beard or anything.

MissBee, my good friend told me about her son-in-law who did chemo multiple times. He's been both a brunette and a redhead after chemo.

I had quite a bit of peach fuzz when my hair came back. I don't do well with waxing or depilatories, so I've been using Tinkle Eyebrow Razors to remove the fuzz. They are cheap and do a great job.

My eyebrow is itching. Does that mean the hair is falling out, or coming back in

imageFirst PFC haircut and color. 6 months out. Hair is still coming in... But so slowly. Stylist says to rub my scalp before bed to get the blood flowing. Worth a try! I'm soeager for bangs.

Shelly my sept 15 sister love the color! Looks great.

I have a similar look also at 7 months pfc.

I actually kinda like being wash and wear now. I just throw some curly hair products on my waves and I'm ready to go out the door.Beats the 30 min I used to spend on blow drying straight and then dumping hair spray on it to keep it smooth.

imageimageAlmost 7 months (29 weeks, 5 days) pfc. Saw the dermatologist last week. Blood work came back fine (no thyroid issues). She researched all the rx I've taken and took a biopsy. Pathology report suggests we should try steroid shots to attempt getting my hair to start to grow 🙏🏽. Thanks to allof you who have been so supportive!!

Valstim, now that the hair on my head is growing, I'm also finding a lot of facial hair, including what to me looks like sideburns. I asked a number of medical professionals about it and they all told me it is because I've been put into menopause by the chemo. I was almost in menopause before (I had a period every 10 or 11 months apart) chemo. I was told that the sideburns will 'fall out' with time....but when will that happen? It hasn't so far.....

Imjakes, here's hoping the steroids work for you!

I couldn't with the grey anymore so I had it colored. I'm on the fence with the red - may change it up in a few weeks. I'm exactly 3 months out now.

Kelly I like the red. Did you use a semi permanent? You can def change it up in a few weeks if you decide to.

Kel, you could try adding a hint of red to your brows with a red brow pencil, see how you like it.

Fingers crossed for hair growth imjakes!!!

Shopgirl - you look great. Love the wash and wear! I can't believe we have made it through to hair regrowthdiscussions. Yay us!

Kelly who rocks the red- It looks good on you! Your three months is like my 6 months. Go figure.

I'm pretty sure if I go to work without my wig right now, I WILL die. 😬. I need more bangs to hide behind. I know it's silly but I'm chicken. I hate the attention I'm bound to get. Crazy, huh?

    imjakes also hoping for you.

Shelley it's not silly to be afraid of going without your wig to work. For a long time my hat was my security blanket. Take your time. I think your new growth looks great and I don't have bangs yet either. I just dump curly hair product on it and run my fingers thru it to scrunch it. I really didn't care what people thought about my hair or lack of when I was butt bald but growing it in was tough.

You are not crazy about thinking all that. Maybe try a trip to the store without your wig. Small steps sister. Let us know how it goes.

imjakes, keeping my fingers crossed that the steroids work for you!

Shelly52, yours is so long! I will be 6 months on the 11th of August but mine is not that long and seems to have slowed in growth here recently.

I love your color Kelly, it really suits you!

I also have the facial hair thing, but it seems to have slowed down too. Thanks God! I was using an electric hair trimmer to get rid of it.

imjakes, I've been thinking about you and hoping that the steroids will work. Hope to see you if I can ever make it to a Wednesday class again.

I've been using a Tinkle eyebrow razor to get rid of the facial hair. It works great.

imjakes Here's many positive thoughts for the steroid therapy

mvspaulding you and I are just about the same level - my last chemo was Feb. 8th. Seems like I should have longer hair by now. I used to keep mine dyed red, but am unsure what to do with it now - kind of a salt/pepper mix. I miss the red. I also think I'll go to an eyebrow place because mine just look horrible right now.
