Myraknits: I have a mowhawk on too too. My husband said it looking like Jaimie Lee Curtis and he likes it! I'm not sure if he is just saying that or not. Im not sure I'm ready to go all gray yet. The short is going to be hard enough because my hair was shoulder blade length . I started out with a long wig now I mostly wear a shorter wavy one that is my usual hair color so to go to short white hair is kinda shocking to me . I may wear wigs until I color it and my bangs catch up

I definitely didn't have a head full of hair at 3 months either. Here is my timeline thus far.. pictures are 2 month / 2.5 month / 3 month / 4 month / 6 month (current):
It's coming in very curly, especially in back. You can see from the way it's sticking out on the sides too in the current (6 Mo) pic. Like most, I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows after my chemo was done. They are gradually coming back, but it's a slow process. My eyelashes actually came back.. then started falling out again. That was very discouraging.

I am finding the hair growing in a little more discouraging than losing it in the first place. I looked better bald than I do now with a 1/2 cm of growth. two more taxol to go.

I'm with you Katjadvm. I just don't know what to do with this 1 inch hair. It's standing straight up, thin on top. Still in scarves and wigs.

I too seem to have disappearing eyelashes again at the 6 month mark. What the heck??

Mine have never really filled in and the same with my eyebrows. My hair is now thinning which I think is from Letrozole. Had this happened to anyone else

Eyelashes grow in three stages, so they could fall out three times. At least that's what I've read.

I'm experiencing eyebrow/lash molting #3. The first was 4-5 weeks pfc when they almost all fell out the week of Christmas, then in April, and now four months later. Each one is less severe than the one before, thankfully.

Hi everyone. Any tips for a patch of hair that is not growing in as well. One spot in the front has a few hairs, but not as thick as the rest. thanks.

I've been using castor oil and I swear it's making my hair grow! There lots of info on the Google about Castor oil and hair growth.
This is totally weird but I have eyelashes sprouting above my lash line on my eyelid. What the what?!
I'm happy to have any so I'm letting them come in. I also use castor oil to remove my make-up which is supposed to encourage brow and lash growth too. So far, so good!

Sheri64...looking good. How many months are you past chemo

Myraknits...how do you use the castor oil? Mix with anything? Leave on overnight? How many times a week? I've been Googling but haven't found any specific info. Some say mix with coconut oil

Hi Cathytoo I am 4 months PFC but I shaved it again in May to even everything out and get rid of that chemo whitehair.

Looking good Sheri64

Cathy, I spread about 10 drops in my hands and then massage it into my scalp after I shampoo.. about every other day. Sometimes I mix a couple drops of cedarwood oil in too. Also supposed to be good for hair growth. My doctor laughed though. I said it was working and she said, so does ending chemo....

Myraknits, how many weeks pfc are you? Do you have a picture? I'm 17 weeks pfc, also on herceptine and also using castor oil. I mix it with coconut oil in my hand and then massage it for a couple of minutes with my head upside down. I don't know if it helps, but I like to believe so. I use it on my eyebrows too, they look good!

what is so interesting in this discussion is how varied we all are. I am like Katjadvm, I shaved the peach fuzz because it was uncomfortable. However, by treatment 5, my head was smooth and shiny. I did not do wigs because cancer is part of my life journey and I don't really care who knows (and I had thick thick hair a mere three weeks before I started treatment). I am a teacher, so I let my primary students write my treatment dates on my head. I figured go big or go home. I even was a minion for halloween, thanks to a co teacher's artwork. this image is my student's rendering of me as a super hero, in November, 2015 (just before my third treatment). I envy you who have eyebrows and lashes, mine are taking so long to grow in. Someone suggested pommade and eyebrow mascara. I am using that but it is the leaky eyes that get to me most. I can count the eyelashes I have on two hands. Oh well, I shall hold out hope for a sudden flourishing....Keep sharing your stories and pictures, they inspire us new to this road. C.

Last chemo was 7/14, and I have eyebrows! They are just fine little sprouts, but they are there! And I have a 5:00 shadow on my head too. Lashes are still not visible, but they were pretty lightly colored before this.
For those of us without lashes but want to have the appearance of lashes, check out blogger Eyelineher. She has some great tutorial videos on how to apply eyeliner to make it look like you have lashes without using the fake ones.

I hate to complain since I'm happy my hair grew back but I miss my highlights so much . I should have left the gray. And the chemo marcel waves at the back of my head are driving me nuts. When I had short hair years before I don't recall having any problems blowing it out but this hair in the back is incredibly coarse and refuses to do anything but wave. I have plenty of hair (21 weeks PFC) but I still wear my wig to work because I don't like the way I look. My husband can't understand why I'm fine on the weekends without my wig (not really fine, but I do it). Unfortunately I'm appearance-obsessed. He stopped me in my tracks the other day when I said I didn't like the all over brown color, that it made me look old, and he said, what's wrong with that? I didn't have an answer.

Paxton, did someone tell you not to get highlights? I asked about coloring my hair, when it actually grows in, and they said it was fine, just use the better stuff that doesn't have ammonia, etc.

I hate my chemo curls too. Can't do a thing with them. My hair is much longer on the top than it is on the sides so it looks odd. Think I may have to have the top trimmed. When I look in the mirror I see a woman who looks many years older than I looked less than 12 months ago.

My hair is just still too short to highlight. It would look like leopard spots. It's not a safety issue as far as I know.
Smurfette, it's depressing isn't it? I feel like I'm reminded of cancer every time I look in the mirror. Though again, I am grateful my hair did grow back, just want to FF about four months.

Oh, I understand now. I plan on wearing my wig for a while, I like it so much.

I'm 4 months out, and my hair's coming in like crazy. It's total "mom hair," but I'll take it. I've had it dyed twice so far - first red, and that faded so fast, I decided to go closer to my natural color. I miss my highlights too, Paxton.

has anyone else had a tender scalp with their hair growing back?
I'm only finished chemo a week ago, and have had a fine layer of fuzz for three or four weeks.

Nice pic kelly. If i could get the hair on top to match the sides and the back, which is really longer, then I'd go without my wig. I am so uncomfortable with my present hair because I can't seem to see where it will go. So until it's longer i will keep the wig going. My DH and DD don't get it.

Kelly, we are hair twins. I don't think of mine as "mom hair" (maybe because I don't have kids). More like, "I gave up" hair.
BlueKoala, my scalp is often tender but I think that's because my wig is tight with my thick hair underneath.

Paxton - yes, has thought it was tender from wearing things tightly on my head (mostly scarves), but yesterday I was home all day and had nothing on and it was driving me crazy
