i honestly haven't missed blowdrying my hair at all. My hairdresser used to say I had enough hair for 2 people it was so thick , so it took a long time !! And I have been cutting my legs when I shave them , guess I got out of practice ! Wish that leg hair had just stayed gone .

Cathytoo - Hi! Mine is coming is just like yours. Straight and dark with a bit of grey. I don't know what I was expecting but I could pass as a twin for my one brother! Really - we could be twins. Not a bad thing as I think my brother is pretty good looking, but I'm not a boy!

I have one question: Bangs. I'm so tired of my big forehead. My sides and back are long and curling. so is my leg hair.

I am 9.5 weeks out and have more hair on top than the sides! I am wondering if the caps that I wear everyday are causing the hair on the sides to not come in or might be rubbing them off?! Has anyone heard that the hair will grow in better if we go hatless? Thank you for all this info gals - the pics are great!

thejohnsonzoo: I think the way your hair grows back is just individual to the person. My hair grew back on the sides first and I looked like an old many with no hair on top. I did not wear anything at all on my head throughout chemo or afterward, so I don't think it's the hat that is making the sides slower. I'm about 14 weeks out now and have full coverage. I know waiting is the hardest part, but be patient. It's coming back :

Hi ladies I'm new to this forum and let me start out by saying you all look beautiful! I was definitely a girlie girl with enough hair for a bunch of people but I have to say I'm enjoying the low maintenance of no hair. Plus this summer has been ridiculous when it comes to humidity...no bad hair days I guess. I have 4 more treatments of chemo & I have a nice start of peach fuzz on my head. Much finer than my old hair and def more gray than I remembered. Curly, straight whatever it is I'll take it.,, I just wish the hair in my head grew as fast as my leg/ underarm hair ugh!

Almost 12 weeks PFC. I had thick hair with some curl to it. Can't really tell what it's going to do yet.imageimageimage

All the pictures look great of both of you! Did you notice any growth while on taxol or did it start after you were all finished? Trying to predict how I will look for my sons wedding in July. My hair grows fast fortunately and I wear it shorter

Veronica and Logang, you both look gorgeous! So nice to see it coming in so thickly. And Veronica, your lashes! Amazing! I have a few sprouts of lashes filling it but not enough to mascara yet. My brows are coming back in completely crazy! Random hairs are growing in above and below my general brow areasin different directions.

I agree, you all look gorgeous! Can you tell me since I"m still in chemo... did you lose your lashes and brows at the same time, or after you finished chemo? I had someone tell me she didn't lose her lashes until 2 months post chemo. I"m halfway done and still have most lashes and a few eyebrow hairs. I love coming to this site to see how great you're all looking! thanks.

Logang, I also had thick (and wavy - though I would low it dry straight). Mine came back really straight at first like yours. Girl give that a few weeks and I bet you get some wave to it. Looks great btw!

Dara, my brows thinned out some during chem but my lashes were real troopers. I lost almost all of the brows and lashes about 2 months after last infusion. It was disheartening for me, but it's true when they say they al grow back quickly. Mine still aren't the same but I'm happy to have them back at all.

Thanks Young. It's so interesting that it takes so much longer to lose brows and lashes. Glad they came back for you though!

DaraB.....Mine came out about a month after last chemo. Brows are still AWOL and lashes are short...real short.

Jiffrig- I just completed 9/12 rounds of taxol & I have a nice start of peach fuzz going....My hair grows fast as well but I have heard sometimes chemo slows your hair growth for awhile. Good luck!

Tjh, boy, I see you started chemo in 5/15. If your brows are still awol, that's a long time. I'm on the same combo as you were, and I'm now hearing of the lawsuits with taxotere with permanent hair loss. I know that is a very small percentage of users, and my MO chose that drug as it has less impact on heart and other organs, just curious abut the timeframe with hair. Thanks.

I did start getting some peach fuzz halfway through my 4 rounds of dose dense Taxol. My eyebrows and eyelashes fell out around my 2nd or 3rd round of Taxol, but started coming back within a few weeks of completing chemo.

Thanks for all the comments! I have been going topless for about 3 weeks now.

I finished chemo May 22 and have my eyebrows and lashes back. They pretty much came in as they were before although not quite as full eyebrows but it looks like more are still growing. I now put purple in my hair until I can do some permanent colour. It's amazing the compliments I get!

I just took this pic tonight and sent it to my family. The first comment back was "look at those eyebrows"! 😄

Karen, what are you using for purple? I considered Kool-aid but heard my scalp will turn purple too so I'll wait till I have a little more coverage....

Still being driven mad by the texture and still not loving the color but it's my first day at work without my wig (I'm almost 25 weeks PFC and have had two haircuts):

Myra I am using an actual hair product that washes out so I have to do it every few days because I washit everyday. Since I am in Canada I don't know if you will have it. This is the one I use but if you google purple hair dyes there are lots.

For those of you growing out your hair, I found something for the awkward phase.  Headbands.  I got the stretchy ones that go all around the head.  It helps hold down the wild curls around the sides and the rest of the hair behind it can do its own thing with abandon.  haha

jiffrig: my hair did start growing back very soon after I started taxol. Unfortunately, it grew back on the sides thicker than the top. The top didn't start coming in until after I was done. If I ever have to go through this again, I'll just keep shaving it til I'm done. The bald look was way better on me than the balding man look.

Myraknits: Haha! The eyelashes are FAKE. I'm four months out and my lashes look like they're about half the length they used to be. So I decided to be done with feeling ugly and put on some fake lashes. I wish they were real!
