Just a Prayer Away
If life seems to pass you by

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you with all my heart and soul, with gratitude so deep words can't express. In 2008, I woke up with my thumb on my right breast, with a deep sense of feeling evil threat and doom. I got a mammogram, but because it was film and I have dense breasts, it was undetected. I lost 7 months, and then it dimpled. I knew they were wrong. But You warned me first, waking me up from sleep with my thumb on the bullseye. You sustained me with my long treatment with the promises in Psalm 41.
Lord, over two years ago, You warned me with a tiny mysterious bump that made me run back to my oncologist. I thought my cancer fight was over in 2010. The tiny little bump near my groin did not light up on the PET, but my sacral bone did with a 6 cm area. I suffered a fracture. The fracture healed, the tiny bump disappeared, and I was confused and frightened. Was it cancer, or a stress fracture from moving to a third story apt.? I had been pushing around heavy boxes with my legs. I was in pain from the fracture, but you carried me. I could still climb the stairs to my new apt. after the worst of it. I was monitored with scans but I was told I had to get a bone biopsy for further treatment. I was on tamoxifen.
Jesus, You counseled me. I was raised in the church, and gave my life to You at age 14 as a born again Christian, but then, there were tidbits of disobedience I kept for myself. You are a forgiving God. I surrendered my life to You two years ago utterly and completely. Let me live, Lord, so that I can serve You completely, and take care of my teenage son with autism. I am his world. I told You my job on Earth is not complete. I still had work to do.
I remember Your audible voice in my mind in 2011 when my husband left us alone in the new state of Florida and he moved to Louisiana. You told me: "I see your plight. Help is on the way. You will be restored. Believe! " And then You gently laughed. But You did tell me I would be restored, even though my condition 5 years later seemed to contradict it.
In 2016, I heard Your voice again numerous times over a period of healing from the fracture. Your voice is always clear, in my mind, as I wait for Your answers, which have been short phrases. I don't hear You with my ears. With all the bone broths I was making, I asked You what else I should put in it. "Turnips and leeks," You said. I had never had them. Anything else, I asked? You said, "Rutabagas, but you wouldn't like them." And You laughed gently again. You know me so well. I have never had rutabagas, but learned they are somewhat bitter. You also showed me a mental picture of a bowl of jello. That one was more like a riddle. I realized it was the gelatin in it. I added kosher gelatin packets to the broth, which is essentially cooked collagen. I looked up all Your answers. They all had bone healing properties I didn't know about.
I craved nuts and cherries during that time. You knew everything I needed.
During the time of my fracture healing, my mother told me to take magnesium. It was in a multivitamin. I thought I was covered. You said, "Not enough magnesium." I was surprised. You were right. Only 13%. I kept asking what I needed. "Rose hips", You said. Anything else? "Vitamin K." Really? Wow. I thought it was given to newborn babies and to coagulate blood. You are right. All Your answers have bone healing properties or work in conjunction with other elements I didn't know about.
I was so scared of a bone biopsy. I read someone's journey, when she had a bone biopsy for one met, then it spread quickly. You gave me the courage. Your timing was perfect, and when I was ready to start treatment, Kisqali had just been approved a few weeks prior.
So now it has been a year of treatment of Kisqali, Femara, and Xgeva to strengthen my bones. I had a PET scan last Friday, and today I saw my oncologist. "Clean PET scan. Total Radiographic Response."

You have healed me, Lord! You have heard my cries, my constant petitions, You have sustained me on my sickbed and restored me to health. Glory be to God!
Two days ago, you have also delivered me from a creditor I was unable to pay because of difficult circumstances and filed with the county court against me. My debt has been forgiven! My court date to meet with the judge would have been 8/28/2018. You are my hiding place, my Rescuer in times of trouble.
Praise be to God Almighty, the Maker of Heaven and Earth.

PS A note: I wrote this late and tired, and I'm not a vegetable person other than what goes into salads, but Jesus said was "parsnips" not "turnips." Out of the blue, as I am getting ready to go out right now (Friday 8/24) He just let me know, it was "parsnips." 😊

other treatments, May they feel Your warmth and loving
arms around them. Be with all the wonderful people here,
