    Hi Girls,

Thanks Lisa and Mina for your kind words, I am feeling much better today.

I have noticed that one of my toe nails has lifted again by about 3/4,and a little bit of one of my fingernails.  Has anyone else got odd nails things going on?  I heard that this is normal and can continue on and off for up to 3 years after chemo finishes.  Not a problem, just odd.

Have a good day girls. Singgapore Chris x

Not odd nails, but 13 MONTHS since my last chemo and I woke up this morning to find my eyelashes are just stubs again.  This is the 4th or 5th time they've broken off.  Twice they fell completely out.

My eyelashes are stubs again too!!! What's with that? And Chris my toenails are still kind of funky. Chris, I'm glad you're feeling better. I can't imagine moving 30 times. That's enough to stress anyone out.Genia, congrats on the clean scan! I hope you all have fun on the cruise.Li

Chris, that sounds like a wonderful life style. We should all move to Singapore! I could use a person to trail around after my husband tidying up the messes! LOL!!!!  I can't get used to you as Dutch Chris!!! That will take a while after all these months!

I still have my eyelashes, I think, yes I just checked! LOL. I had a toe nail issue, it was lifted from chemo last summer, and then got a fungus!! I have been putting a drop of Thymol (the active ingredient in vicks Vapo rub) on in the morning and at night, and it is almost better. I should be good for my sandles in the summer!

Definitely have nail issues here. My toenail is lifting, and if my fingernails even think of growing, they crack.

I'm having eyebrow issues too. I have some that are curly and refuse to lay down. grrrrr...

Saw my onc today. My 1st doctor visit this year. :) She said I can delay my diagnostic mammo on the right side until June when my yearly mammo on the left side is due.  I will have to have a pelvic ultrasound then too because of the Tamox.

Not to rub it in, but we're in our 40s now.....49 days until Juli, Genia and I cruise!!! I started the Aromasin on Tuesday and yesterday the pain in my feet was almost unbearable.  By the time I went to bed, I could've cried.  The rest of th aches seem to be coming back, too, as is the fatigue.  I'm hoping maybe it's just because it's been raining the last couple of days and maybe when the weather warms up again, it'll get better.

Hope you all are having happy, pain-free days!

    Hi Girls,

Happy English Mothers Day!  Jane sorry about your pain, I hope it is just an initial reaction and will go away, really fast.. Just focus on the trip and you will be fine, if you still have pain, Juli can push you and Genia around in trolly thing, or drive you both around on a scooter!

I am angry with my nails, as they are all a mess, I think I will find a foot-nail specialist and get them all looked at and sorted out, they hurt as they are growing into the sides of my toes, or lifting or something. Very annoying now that I am wearing boots most of the time. My fingernails are not so bad.

Take Care everyone, Singapore Chris x

English Mother's day! Great! Thanks Chris! Sorry about the toes. I imagine that would be very annoying - I hate these little reminders! ahhhck! However, I am very glad to be healthy and alive, even with all the little things that are not the same. Hoping whatever can get back to normal, does, someday!

Ladies. We are coming up on our 2 year dx marks - Can you believe it?

Cruise ladies. Genia, Jane, Juli. I am smiling just thinking of you all on the ship having FUN!!!

46 days.....I'm looking forward to 80 degree weather on that cruise.  My feet aren't hurting like they did on Friday.  Hopefully, that was just a bad day.  I'm achier than I was without any AIs, but I am managing it with Excedrin, Tramadol and Lyrica.  My big complaint is that I gained .8 lbs this week and I did not cheat on my diet.  The only difference was that I started Aromasin.  Grr!!!

Juli - could you PM me your cell phone number?  I'd like to have it so I can call you when I get to the airport.

    Hi Jane,

How upsetting about putting on weight, the same happened to me on tamoxafen, but when I researched Aromasin, it is the only one of the AL's that doesn't have weight gain in the list of side effects. Could you have retained some fluid from the other three drugs you mentioned?  I really hope that it is not a long term thing, there is nothing as disheartening as gaining weight without even deserving it. Whenever we come across a list of side effects that we shouldn't have, one of us has them :(

All this talk of the cruise is making me wish I was going to be there, it will be such fun.  My only consolation is that it is my husbans 50th birthday on 8th May so we will be partying in England with the family and friends.  We want lots of photos though!!

Have a good day and may we all wake up lighter!!  Singapore Chris x

Anyone want a stomach virus?  I have one I'm willing to give away!!!  ugh.......what ELSE???  lol

I'm beginning to think I am just destined to feel like poop for the rest of my life.  But I AM counting the days til I hit the sunshine and tropical air!!!  YESSSSS   I managed to walk a half a block this morning......not much but it's a start!  I noticed last night I'm losing the muscle tone in my legs.  Not sure where that is coming from unless it's where I have been in so much pain I haven't been able to do anything as far as walking and exercising.

Jules...hope you don't get your stinging back.  Between your prickly heat and mine and Janes aching bones......we will look like 3 old ladies boarding that ship!  lol  Get out the Geritol........

Chris....congrats on your two year mark.  Mine is coming up in July too Spring......I'm SOOO thankful we are all still here.  Even with our creaky bones and our other chemo after affects .  Chris....I'm trying to remember, are you taking any kind of AI or Tamox?

    love you gals

    Hi Girls,

Genia, I am taking Aromasin, without any problems. I spoke to an old friend who is 4 years out of treatment and she can't tolorate Aromasin either, she said the pain and cramp in her legs is affecting her quality of life, but the different oncols she is seeing here in Holland and in the UK can't agree on what the hormone levels should be before you can say you are in complete menopause. Anyone know any exact figures, I think mine was below 67, but can't be sure. All my files are in the shipment.

Glad you managed to walk one block, like you said it is a start and you have to be fit for your cruise? Set yourself a goal of a fast walk around the block by May 8th :)

Have a great day ladies! Singapore Chris x

Lisa - How are you feeling these days?

Chris - I have no idea what my hormone levels are, but my onc said one level showed I was in menopause but the other one said I wasn't. I didn't even know there were two levels to check.

Spring - I am still stinging, but it's not my arms and legs anymore, it's my head! Is that a good sign? Guess I'll keep my head in an ice bucket on the cruise. lol

I have a consult tomorrow to schedule a colonoscopy. My insurance company sent me a letter saying they noticed I haven't had one yet. What? They couldn't have noticed that last year when my deductible was met!!!

I pissed off my cardiologist yesterday. I brought him my results of the echocardiogram that I had 6 weeks ago  (because it was half the price of what I would have paid him), and he said he can't see all the graphs that he would have seen if I had done it there. Oops! sorry...Not! Bottom line is still the same - ejection fraction has not improved.

I went to the Y last night.  I walked 1.5 miles and then swam for 1/2 an hour.  My shoulder hurt a little when I went to bed, but it seems ok today.  My foot bones hurt, but they'll have to get used to it.  I'm going to try to go for a walk at lunch time today.  We have a 1/2 mile loop (sidewalk) on the campus where I work.  It takes me about 20 minutes to do it.  I'm trying to get quicker at it.  I walked it in 18 on Tuesday.  I want to lose that .8 lbs I gained last week plus the 1 lb I should have lost.  I'm planning on doing the Y again tomorrow

    Hi Girls,

Juli, sorry to hear about the stinging head, hopefully it won't last long.  I can't believe the insurance company WANTED you to have something and were willing to pay. What happens now that you know your ejection fraction has not imporved?

Jane, walking at lunchtime sounds like an excellent idea, I am sure it will do the trick, keep us updated and let us know if you improve on your time.

Lisa hope all is well with you.

We have wonderful weather today, 16 degrees C, I had to take my coat off while walking the dog.

Have a good day ladies. Singapore Chris x

Hang in there Jules. I hope it will improve in time. It's still not that long ago that we blasted ourselves with chemo and rads! I keep reminding myself of this when I have "issues". ha!

Stinging head now??????  LOL!! I mean, holy cow!!! Maybe it's all moving up and out!!?? You need a head wrap with an ice pack for the cruise!

Jane, I walk often during the work day, if I have an opening (I work at home) I zoom around the neighborhood for 30 minutes. I can get in 2 miles and my heart is really pumping. I'm hot even if I was previously freezing!

Nice to hear from you Lisa! :)

Spring - I love the "up & out" theory. Sounds good to me!

Chris - nothing happens now. The cardiologist said come back in 6 months. Funny thing though...when the nurse asked what the appt was for, he said EKG only (no echo). I wanted to laugh.

They say heart damage can be permanent - no way of knowing, except when it does or doesn't get better in time.

Off to my colonoscopy consult... :P
