Is it okay to say I wouldn't be able to keep this up if I did not have my e-cig?  It really helps me keep my sanity.

Jo, whatever gets you through the days and nights, I figure my teeth are all going to get cavities from all the gum I'm chewing and my jaw will be as strong as a pitbull, (if that is the breed that has a jaw pressure of a couple hundred pounds). hugs to you, Karen

I wish I could chew gum but after so many pieces, my teeth get way too sensitive and I have to stop.  Will stick with the hard candies.

    Jo1955,

Hugs and well done on your 8 month mark. Four more to go and you are a YEAR off them!! Using an E-cigarette is no different from using a patch or gum or other type of smoking cessation technique, ANYTHING is better than smoking tobacco. Congrats again and everyone here is delighted for you and you encourage us to keep going.

    Blessings

    Maria

Btw, got the Chantix refill at the VA today.  OMG, the Dr and I had to finegle and fight to get it.  Pharmacy said they were out.  I pushed and pushed, saying that if I smoked, all surgery would be compromised and delayed, etc. Dr was horrified that without it I might smoke, since she knows what's going on with me even though I only see her once a month to get this filled.

I was ready to get a paper Rx from her and pay to have it filled at a drug store AND hit up the Patient Advocate to express my dismay and urgency for needing this Rx.

Lo and behold, they found me a Refill pack, not merely the Starter pack which was all they would admit to finding.  Dr even changed the Rx to be a Starter pack when that's all they said they could find.

Ingood, WOW, one year is amazing!!!! I just wonder, when do we stop thinking about smoking or feeling an urge?? A month, two months...??? It is my 5th day and a bit harder than the last two days. It is like not seeing someone very dear. The more it goes, the more I miss it!!!! But no way I am touching the stuff, my honest word !!!!!  Everyone keep strong. Love you all.

Karen, it pays to push the issue at times doesn't it.  They may think I was being a biggest whiner or witch but do I care!

    Ingood, HOORAY for you!

Maria .. glad to see u pop in ... and still smoke free

Jo .. u are my inspiration...

I am feeling okay today .. like I said I am taking patch off during my days and wearing it at night . but having a hard time sleeping ... maybe the nicotine is keeping me awake .. anyway .. I am trying so hard to become nicotine free in just 16 more days ... so that I can be 3 weeks nicotine free before surgery ..

Remember just for today I choose not to SMOKE !!!!!

    Love you alll .....xoxoxoxoxoxox

Galsal, remember to keep drinking water to flush those toxins out, it will also fill you up.  This is the time to take baby steps, because you know you will get through it.  One moment at a time because you are strong!  hugs, Karen
