Karen - Yea, that first cig smell in the morning. Somedays it is nauseating others I don't care. I just pick up my e-cig to get over that craving. The rest of the day is not so bad especially at work. I stay inside while everyone else goes out for that smoke break. I still have to learn how to take breaks at work. Someday maybe.

Sorry I have been MIA... Going through a bit of family drama...
Galsal,
Congrats on the low Onco Type!! Mine came back as 14 and I elected to have no chemo as well! It was recommended that I have the BRCA testing done not because of family history but more because of age at diagnosis... That all came back negative... Hope the same is for you!
I see where you were feeling a bit down.... Could be due to the switch in meds but also could be due to the Chantix.... Be sure to keep an eye on it and, if it worsens, it would warrent a quick call to your doctor....
I've been a bit down myself... Hope you're feeling better!!
Jo,
Congrats on getting your surgery date!! Sounds like there has been a whirlwind of activity at your house getting things ready for the big event.... Kind of reminds me of the 'nesting syndrome' during pregnancy..... Maybe rightfully so.... You ARE preparing for a new arrival after all!0 -
Seaside - Hope the family issues are resolved or at least to a point that everyone can live with. Have missed seeing you here.
Yes, it is a whirlwind at my house and also at work. Our Winter Texan friends (in other places they are Snowbirds) are leaving and going back to the north. Work is beginning to slow down. I have a couple of projects to get together before the big day. Three weeks is really not that far away.

Lisamarie....
I just have to say how very proud I am of you!!!! You are at just about a month without srmoking and almost 2 weeks nicotine free!!!! You are doing great! Hope the move goes well this week and that you have a great Easter with your kids!
Maria and Karina,
Thinking of you both and hope you are doing well!
Michelle,
Always good to hear from you and I know you check on us when you can.... Hope things ease up for you soon....
Jan!!!!
Soooooooo gladi to hear from you!!! Was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you are.... So glad to hear that things are still going well! And very cool on the photo shoot!!
Karen,
Did some spying on you over at the WNY thread.... Sounds like you all had a really good time.... Wish I could have been there! Some of the ladies on the 'What's For Dinner' thread had a get together in NH this weekend too..... I am so jealous!! I keep telling DH we have to do a road trip to Buffalo during a weekend when you all are having your lunch.....0 -
Thanks for the good words, Seaside. I'm attributing the feeling low to the switch between ADs, the surgery and recovery, going back to work, the surgeries and treatment to come, etc. That's because it's normal for me to get these bouts even without the Chantix. After a week or two on the new AD, will see if the coworkers notice anything better about the anxious me in general. Those are the people I see daily and have the most interaction with since live alone.
Although it's going to sound strange, a positive Brca 2 result would make it easy for a decision to have a total hyster with a Brca1 being for an ooph. We're one of those families that tend to get the things that just aren't expected or considered "normal".

Galsal - I also made it through another day. Such a good feeling isn't it?0

Seaside, definitely need to make a trip to Olean sometime this spring or summer. Will let you know the dates as they come along. We have a new member, Kelly, a Sabres' fan, who is going through chemo now but is planning on making our April luncheon. Everyone else, we did not smoke today and will not choose to smoke tomorrow either. hugs, Karen

Hooray for us! Off to the Breast Clinic and also OT for a follow-up today. Will learn about getting the Brca tests. Folks aren't going to be happy that the swelling has increased. grrr
The best news is that for my new class, the Instructor is more than willing to let me be late on assignments so long as the assignment is still open. What a breath of fresh air after the last yahoo instructor!

Lisamarie, how exciting to be moving to a new place, I always liked setting up the new place with rearranging the furniture and getting all the pictures up. I used to find that when I moved, it was a good time to give to the Salvation Army all the "stuff" I had accumulated that I didn't really need anymore. Great way to clean house. Congrats. on your willpower - you are doing great. Galsal, so glad you have a professor who is willing to be flexible, it makes all the difference n the world. What are you studying?, are you working also?, as well as not smoking. My hat is off to you, that's alot of willpower and self control. Maria, haven't heard from you in a few days, hope all is well and you are just busy. hugs, Karen

karen, i'm studying computer crime investigations. yes, i work full-time also. the classes this semester are half-semester ones so i'm only taking one at a time. one first half of semester, one second half - permits me to not be overloaded and still maintain being a half-time student for financial aid.
hope it's another great day for you!

Ladies:
Congrats to all of you. Just weighing in after a trip from Houston to San Francisco to see my DS & DIL. What a different experience it is to fly w/o having to find a place to smoke - either side of security. Traveling is so much easier. I'm at 4 years & 9 months. Still miss it but still agree with JUST FOR TODAY. It keeps me going. You should all be proud of your accomplishments.

MinusTwo - 4 years and 9 months? Way to go!! I bet traveling is easier. I can relate to trying to find a place on either side of security to get that cig in before the flight.

Good Morning Ladies,
Hugs to everyone and a big well done on everyone's continued journey to remain free from tobacco.I am so proud of everyone with everything that is going on in people's lives and we choose on a daily basis to remain off and to refrain from smoking..........all we have is today so Just for Today I will not smoke.
Sorry I haven't checked in in a few days but we were having unusually beautiful weather here for nearly a week that resembled a mild summers day so I was making the most of it with the girls and hubby. I'm doing well, still off the ciggies and don't even smoke the E cigarette, I just carry that around as safety net!.
Blessings to each one of you
Maria

Maria, we had a week of glorious weather here in the western part of NY state that is so out of character for this part of the state, got up to the 80's. This week we have normal weather in the 40's and 50's, we were spoiled, don't blame you for taking advantage of the beautiful weather, we were all out and about too. No cigs, not even an e cig, you are doing amazingly well. Congratulations!! Karen
