No worries Lori. Just keep trying!

Judi --- good for you! I too am trying. Doing high protein to get started. Starting arm workout with body builder coworker tomorrow. I walk a lot with my job so not sure if/when/what other work out I will add. Maybe swimming now that it's getting warmer. <3 no more big clothes!! When I roll down past the weight I was when I quit smoking, that will be the ultimate victory over nicotine for me. I've only gained 10 of it since quitting so I am proud for that. In the past when I quit, I ballooned. That's how I got fat in the first place. Then when I went back to smoking the weight stayed. Go figure!!! </p>

GalSal - thanks for keeping it going - JUST FOR TODAY

Beckers One Year !!! Fantastic.  What an accomplishment.

I'm coming up on 6 years in July.  I never thought I'd make it 6 hours, or 6 days, or 6 months.  Hang in there gals.  You CAN do it.  Just like any other addiction, yes of course I still do think about it.  But I KNOW if I have even one cigarette I'm off to the races again.  So - just for today I will not smoke either.

Me too Minus Two. I know better than to buy into it when I tell myself I can just smoke one. Fell for that one too many times in the past. 6 years? Wow. Were you on this thread at the time?

Braids, good to hear from you! Are you sore from rads? How's that going? Keep trying. Glad you are making progress on the quit.

IPC, did you just start chemo on the 2nd. I didn't have chemo but it doesn't sound like fun AT ALL. Hope you cheer up. I felt sorry for myself all 2012!!! Cancer has a way of taking over. Hang in there and good luck tomorrow.

Beckers:  No I wasn't on this thread when I quit.  My first DX was 4 years after I quit.  How's that for ironic.  I quit smoking, started walking 3 miles a day, joined a gym, worked out 45 min every day, joined a water aerobics group, gave up cokes, gave up fast foods, etc., etc.  I was healthier than I'd ever been in my life & boom - got BC.  I did have some other on line support when I quit, but none were this consistent.  I do believe in paying forward, so I'll keep coming back to encourage those who are still working at quitting and congratulate those of us who have made it.  It's a tremendously hard task & a huge accomplishment.

Okey Dokey, Five yesterday and already one this morning before heading to work.  But the pack is almost gone so hopefully I stay away from the smoke shop.  I planned to completely toss them on Saturday, but that pack just keeps beckoning me. Darn it!

Toss the pack! It is like throwing your best friend out the car window though. Omg the hold these things can have on you... I'm experiencing it right now with the thought of a homemade chocolate chip cookie!!!! &-$$:)(:&/&@/$:)) I am trying to diet. keep trying Lori!

One more smoke day Braids. Wishing you the best on Thursday!

Wow Minustwo! You were doing everything right. It also scares me that you had recurrence after stage 0. Are you considered stage IV? Woah. All too real.

    Hope everyone else is okay.

Didn't start when I said I would ...time to try again tomorrow. Cant believe the panic that arises when I think about no cigarettes! It just seems like this should be so much easier with cancer already in my system!

Beckers - Rated stage 2 for now until they do surgery after chemo shrinking tumors.  That may change if it's really mets to the lymph system.  It actually made me VERY angry, but no fault of the docs.  The good news - I didn't smoke.

lpc - good luck tomorrow.   Braids - good to see you back & glad they know more about the pain.  Happy B-day Thursday - Quit day.  April - Amazing.  You should feel proud.  Still looking for LisaMarie and Shantez.

    Just for today ladies !!!

    Good morning ladies!

LisaMarie honey, so very happy for you. I know how hard this is! Still smoke free. Today is day 20! Woohooo. Three weeks tomorrow. I am going to say that without my e-cig and vaping, I would not be still quit after 40+ years of smoking.

I have found the best one for me. I am using www.greensmoke.com now. I am not good with tanks and refilling etc. My foray into that world is over. I want something that looks and feels and tastes like a cig. I found it. I use the RED tobacco flavor as it is closest to my Marlboro lights that I used to smoke. Anyway, just thought I would share. It is expensive but since I only vape when I need it bad, I am doing ok with one cartomizer every 2-3 days (at about 3 bucks each which sure beats almost 9 bucks a DAY for cigs!)

Ok, heading off to work now, but wanted to check in. Hugs to all. Keep up the great work!

    Happy 60th BD Braids!

This is the hardest thing ever! I know my friends. I truly do. WE ARE WORTH IT! xoxo

April485, wow, wow, wow .... 20 days and still counting.  I knew you could do it.  I think once we get over the fact that we can do it, we just move on.  I'm so proud of you.

Lisamarie, ha, ha about all the food you are eating.  You are a nonsmoker now and I think most of us enjoy our food now.  Another person that I'm proud of!

Mmahle46, so proud of you as well .... 10 days and probably 11 now.  See we all have your back.  We knew you could do it!

How's it hanging lpc?  You can do it .... come on over to the other side.  It's a scary process getting there but once you are there, it's good!

To all the other ladies, I'm proud of the whole pack of us.  S#@t, it was hard but we did it!!

MinusTwo, how are you feeling today!

Happy Birthday Braids .... clink, clink, clink - my toast to you!

MinusTwo, so glad to hear things are well.  That's what we all want to hear about you!

Beckers, congrats on your latest win!  I'm starting to amp up my exercise routine .... changed it up and will be going minimum 3x a week.  Hopefully, I can be where you are.  My friend keeps telling me that once I'm off the Letrozole, the weight will fall off.  But gheesh, that's 2 1/2 years away.  I'm so proud of you!

Judi, may be easier said because I am on a Tamoxifen break. I just have to get a handle on this tho!!!!!! How is the exercise. You should do 3x week minimum. It's actually dangerous for you to do less. We can do this!!

Happy Mother's Day ladies.  I'm only a stepmom and I still had to cook .... no recognition for me.  Truthfully, I feel like their friend only which is a good thing.

Beckers, why the break from the Tamoxifen?  Sometimes, I would like to take a break from the Letrozole, but I'm too scared and just want the whole thing finished with.  Tomorrow, I have a bone denisty test ... be interesting to see what the drug has done to my bones.  Last year not much so we'll see.  I hear you on the exercise but sometimes I'm just too tired and I find any excuse not to go.  But I'm determined so I was there at 10:00 a.m. this morning.  Once it is done, the day or time is mind.  I have a wedding to go to so I'm really trying.  Now if I could only find a good hairdresser .... just said to dh tonight that I'm going to recolour my hair - only did it last week.  Man, if it's not one thing, it's another.  But I'm happy and I'm going to stay that way.

Lisamarie, you go girl.  I'm am so proud of you.  I remember when we were all trying so hard to beat the little devil and here we are all.  Congrats!

Beckers, June 10th is coming fast.  Hard to believe isn't it but here you are.  Gotta love it!

Congrats Lisamarie.  You are doing fantastic ... see you knew you could do it.  It's a long weekend here in Canada - Queen Victoria's birthday we are celebrating.  So, weather is warm and people are away.  Went to a golf clinic Sat./Sun. and I've survived.  Pretty sore today.  Congrats also on the new arrival ... another grandaughter!  Enjoy your daughter's graduation .... you must be very proud of her.

Yes, I agree it is very quiet here but if everyone has quit smoking, there is no action!
