Ellie - Thanks for the laugh! I really like your suggestion for Janet's puppy's new name. Best laugh I've had today!!!! Maybe if get the bilat Mx I can get my husband to acquire 2 new dogs?

Janet -  Really Magic is a great name for your baby, but Ellie's suggestion really made me laugh alot and still smiling over post. The cost of things here in Hawaii continue to be high and being further impacted by fuel costs to get stuff over here. Beaches and tropical rain forrests are super beautiful though. When you're ready to come visit just let me know. And thank you for the hugs!

Nadine -  If you have specific needs or concerns, please let us know. Perhaps someone here has possible solutions or ways to help. If you would like to keep that more private than the public posting, please don't hesitate to PM. Want to support you if at all possible.

    Love & Hugs,

Oh Agonyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!  Dang lung.  Can't stay upright long.  Just wanted to say 'hey' to everyone and apologize to my facebook buddies for not responding yet.  DS and BIL spent the day with me, they brought KFC (love that grease!) and we mucked about on the PC all day watching silly stuff and discussing the pro and cons of them buying a different house in NY.  I was in Portugal when they bought their last one and they ended up with a pig in a poke.  I can guide them this time (real estate was one of my specialties when I was a paralegal).  In fact I had most of the realtors and quite a few of the law firms hating my guts because I was good at what I did.  Well, we'll have to say Pat was because she could drop this Southern vernacular and be as professional as any la-de-da hoity-toit you would want to run across.  Sorry but today reminded me of the days when I was gainfully employed and worth something.  Just needed to vent.

Can't last much longer.  Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful weekend and beg you to bear with me on facebook.  Go to my pulmonary specialist Tues.  Rheumatoid arthritis may have gone to my organs.  Well, what else do I need?  Maybe a swift kick in the a@@? lol

Janzin, no matter what you end up naming the "sausage" I will probably still call her that.  You know  how I like multiple names.  I think my BIL's stinking old cat here (PC) is bi-polar.  He clawed me yesterday while I was running interference for Skanky and then turned around and was rubbing my legs.  He better watch it or I am liable to give him a bat around the old ear hole.

Good night my favorite wenches!  Sweet deams and maybe x rated ones if you are on Chantix!

    Love,

Nancy, Pat, SusanFoot in mouthI love this face!  It's exactly how I feel right now!

Hi Ladies, finally got the rough done on our new site. I will show you the old roughs which I just about gagged on some other time. I finally simplified it and found colors I think you will like, NO PINK. I wanted the design more simple because simple is more tasteful at times, not too busy or confusing, and make sure it's friendly for older computers and dial up. The red font on top is when you mouse over it with more selections below. This is just a rough, will tighten it tomorrow and it should be up as a skelton, will start adding content next. Let me know if there is any links or content you would like. Let me know what you think.

    bcbk small

If you click on the image, the photo will be a little smaller that the actual size.

Pantufas, don't forget to take it easy!!! No cleaning the house, etc. I will call you from time to time to make sure you are resting. Got to get you in shape for Wally World. By the way, Sausage is a funny name. Check it out, "Want to take care of my Sausage?" LOL.

Take care ladies, sweet dreams tonight!

    Janzin it's looking really good,

O2bhealthy- I never really shaved my head, I didn't have that kind of courage.  I cut it really short and almost all of it did fall out by the last chemo june 23rd and then for up to 2 weeks after that.  But one thing I did use was Nioxin scalp treatment and  shampoo. And now Just this week I  have no bald spots at all. everyone is shocked and so am I. It's only about a 1/4 of an inch and gray and black(which my hair before was always brown and blonde) so hang it there.  My hair loss was the hardest thing for me and when I lost it oh boy did I smoke.

    A Good NIght to all

Hi ALL! Going for my 2nd fill tomorrow and see the PS.  I think I may have pulled or stretched out some scar tissue in my right foob/under arm area while cleaning the other day...I have been experiencing quite a bit of discomfort over the last few days.  Hopefully no real harm has been done...

    96 DAYS!!!!  Woooooot!

Malle - Yea for you a full head/scalp of hair!!    .  I went to church today with my new hair cut - I look like GI Jane (with an extra 25 lbs).  Haven't shaved completely...yet...I am struggling with anticipating the 'patchy' look...told my DH once I start getting patchy we will shave.  I have been forcing myself to get out of the house and go out among people and it hasn't been so bad.  I'll have to look for the Nioxin scalp tx and Shampoo, did you use it during chemo or start using it after?  - Thank you for the suggestion.

Hugs and Sweet Dreams to ALL!

Hi ladies, the skeleton site is up. I am glad that you like it because I am not happy with it. Will fudge with it later, lol. Let me know if it's not legible to you as I have a pretty fancy monitor, etc. I need to get this up quick!!!

Malleme, I have been using Nioxin too. I like it  because it makes my hair feel fuller. It dries out your hair so I put good conditioner on my ends.

O2Bhealthy, congrats on your 96 days. So proud of you!!!! Glad you are getting comfortable with yourself.

Nobleanna, good luck tomorrow with your patch. Sending you positive vibes.

Miss the rest of you????? Looking forward to your posts.

I hope you all had nice weekends!  I will post more later, a little slow getting moving today!

Just got back from PS and he says I look great...DH chimed in and told him to watch out how he talks to 'my wife' (wink, wink, male posturing...) so PS rephrases my 'incisions look great'... boys! Laughing  2nd fill and I am now back to pre mx size (just a lot perkier).  Still deciding on what size to go with for end result...

Malle - how exciting...no more turtle shell TE's...will be praying for you and your doctor tomorrow..what time is your surgery??

Janzin - WOW the site looks so AWESOME on a full screen :) I am so excited...going to have to get my own dead pic done soon to submit...

Nobleanna - I want a fun hair story like that...wonder if my dog groomer will shave my head...oh well, DH wants the honors so I'll let him scalp me instead.

Flfish - hope you are doing ok...I hate slow starts in the morning.

Pantufas - Love you hope you are feeling better and have no pain today...

Lots of healing hugs to all!!

Hi,I recently wrote about the electronic cigarettes. I spoke to the guy that was selling them today and he regrets that he will no longer be selling them.  The up side is that he is selling all of his inventory for cost, so if you wanted to give them a try, now would be a good time.  There is another site that has the same product: www.smokesticusa.com in Illinois. There number is 630-847-9971. Remember you need to get the "no nicotine" filters. For people that it is ingrained in to there personality, like me, it really helped. Good luck.Meanwhile has anyone ever gotten any kind of reaction at the injection site from chemo? I thought I had a bug bite and kept scratching it for a few days, then it dawned on me it was the chemo injection site.  There are these little tiny blisters running up the vein line.  Showed the onc.,they don't know either. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks.

    Hello dear fiends!

First, lest I forget what this thread is about.  STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!  That said, I will try to address all of you but you know how that goes.  I don't think anyone will get bent if I forget someone but know I have your faces and personalities in my minds.  I guess it depends on who is typing. lol.

o2b,  Day 14 was the magic # for me.  I was talking to IZ (bald son) and I put him on speaker, went to the bathroom and he coached me through buzzing it and shaving my head.  I have a small bathroom (only me) and have a big round mirror opposite the medicine cabinet so I could see the back of my head.  Do get your hubson's help as I've been cutting my hair since I was a teen.  Dad was the 1st male cosmetologist in Western NC and I was cutting his hair by the time I was 12.  Also throwing my two cents in about shampoo.  It seems I grew my guard hairs and then nothing. I was afraid I was going to be a hairless Chihuahua when my sister suggested Pantene Beautiful Lengths shampoo.  A portion of the proceeds goes to their program for real hair wigs for women fighting cancer. I began using it three weeks ago.  I've gone through the down stage and now I have my permanent hair growing.  It's a little longer than when I first buzzed it.  I don't know if that is good or not but it sure looks and feels good to me.  Also, thank you for the boost.  I needed that!  Also watch that cording.  I snapped my fascia weedeating and am having trouble ever since.

nobleanna, as I was raised for the most part in NC I should know what pot holes are by now. lol.  It's so good to hear from you.  I buzzed my dog one time.  She was part Chow and St. Bernard.  She was so embarrassed she hid under the porch for 2 weeks.  I guess I should have left that to the groomers!

malleme!  So good to hear from you too!  Praying for good results on your surgery and as I told Janzin, I hope you are happy with the results.  All of you who are in the process or are planning on recon are my heroes.  I didn't think I could take the pain and now I think that was probably a wise decision for me.  Wishing you "dream boobies".  Sounds as if o2b is heading in that direction.

Nadine,  I had cold chicken for supper last night too.  And I was married to a Marine.  Hmmm!  Similarities, similarities.  I fear I'll never ride a bike again though.  My right arm has had it.  Maybe  one day you can haul me pillion.  How's your rainbow?

flfish, I like your new haircut.  I noticed it on FB.  How is your daughter doing?  Is her heart mending?  I don't care how old  you are when that happens, it still knocks you for a loop.  Are you still job hunting?  How is the smoking going?  PISS OFF PAT!!!!  Nosy cow!!  Hope you are well and am thinking of you.

REKoz,  I am so sorry!  Your lacerating chastisement still has me rolling!  Good night Irene!!

Denise, let us know how you are doing.  Also, has anyone heard from Jules?

mb, so glad to see  you on FB.  Even if I don't know what I'm doing, it's fun.  I light a special candle for everyone at night and one has your name on it.  My prayers are with you and I sure do believe.  Stay strong and it is so good to hear from you when you can.  We will worry but please let us do it with you.  Biggest BCBK Hugs!!!!!!!!!

Also does anyone know how candie is.  Prayers go out for her too.

Our little butterfly must be spreading her wings.  That is good!

Janzin, your web page gets better and better.  Hey ladies!  Janzin taught me how to chat last night!  You can teach an old dog new tricks.  Well, some tricks anyway. lol.  Kiss your sausage for me.  And your dog.  PAT!!  GET YOUR RUDE SELF BACK IN THIS MINUTE.  YOU KNOW THIS FORUM IS MONITORED!!!  Multiple pardons your graces, do forgive me.

I think I had better say good night.  Love you all!

malleme, calm yourself dear one.  You make me laugh though because it seems we clean like mad apes before we go into hospital. I hope you didn't pull anything. lol.  Janzin just did the same thing.  I think a lot of that is nervous energy.  If you have Ativan, then take it to get some rest.  Glad you are smoke free.  Better go check on my candles.  Will be thinking of you tomorrow a.m.

OOOOH Pantufas you crack me up and I just love reading your posts!  Thank you for all your wise words and candles!  I told my PS about the pain and such on my right side/foob and he didn't say anything about cording...what is cording?  is it fixable? Darn I hardly did anything but dust and wash the glass table tops and bathroom mirrors...

Malleme - you can do it...I am so proud of you. Will be thinking of you tomorrow at 1pm!

Malleme- Wishing you the best today. From what I hear, the exchage is a peice of cake compared to mx. And if what I just went through with expander replacement is any indication, that assessment is SPOT ON. I feel great and have had little pain. That doesn't mean I didn't use up all my pain killers for mental "medicinal purposes" though!  Never was the type to ration anything that made me feel good! Including these cigs which, after my celebratory after surgery binge, I am once again starting to go down to pre surg. level.

How's everyone else doing? So HAPPY to see Pantufus back in form! Adds significantly to my day of happy quotient!  Janzin, the site is beyond awesome. You are really the "rock" here!

o2b- you look absolutely adorable with your buzz cut (as seen on facebook)! I agree it looks better then the pre chemo cut. Same thing people said to me. Some people just can't do short hair but if we were ever called lucky in this journey, being able to carry that off is a good thing.

Fitfish...our regular blogger here!  And me and Janzin's partner in holdout! You always say the right thing and are so supportive always! You rock girlfriend.

And Nadine...congrats on laying off those butts! You are a better person then me and I am soooo envious. I just keep telling myself what I look like to others smoking in this chemo hair after having cancer. I would (and have) judged. That's gotten me at least back to not having one "just because." I am waiting out till the urge becomes too much and then having one. Should do better next week when I go back to work cuz we can't smoke on grounds. Though, there is a little section far from my dept where people do anyway and get away with it. That's where I'll go but only after lunch. Maybe I'll have some success that way.

Well, time to get to work. Wanted to check in and say hi to all you women who I love so much! And I do mean all even if I didn't mention y'all.

    Hey Ladies!

Fast healing for malle who had surgery today.  REKoz has good advice.  Also for another dear friend, Janzin who will have surgery tomorrow.  Fast healing to you as well.  We love you both and are sending good vibes and major (feathery) hugs your way.

o2b,  I'm thinking you had bilat mx so you need to be careful with both arms.  Cording is a precurser to lymphadema.  We don't want that.  It's where the fascia (muscle connective tissue, like the white extremely hard stuff to cut through and skin off of meat) twists and tightens like rubber bands that you can actually feel from your armpit to your wrist.  It they get too tight then they can snap just like a rubber band.  Not good.  Avoid heat, humidity and report any swelling to your bs.  You can even get cording in  your truck (needed to edit this to trunk, but thought truck was funny) so just be careful.  I know it's as though I'm telling you to live like a vegetable but we simply have to be careful.  Most of my problems now with pain is because I didn't do what I was told.  After surgery, ease into your housework.  I think lifting is our biggest nemesis.  It is what has done most of my damage.  Believe me, if you develope cording you will know it because of the burning pain.  Get the kids to pitch in ( I think that they probably already do ) to help you and hubson.  Just be good to yourself until you've had a chance to heal and then you still won't be able to run amok.  My bs wanted me in a compression sleeve and start pt but I don't have time for it and I know I wouldn't be able to wear the sleeve with the fibromyalgia.  I told her as much and that I would manage it as I do the FM.  So now, you know what to look for and a few terms.  Check out the Lymphadema thread if you are concerned and be sure to mention anything of concern to your bs.  Mother is through nagging now.

I must go rest now.  Had two dr. appmts. today and am pretty tired.  Yay!  Fluid in my lung is taking care of itself.  Pain is from not being able to expand as much prior to illness because of scar tissue.  Also the surgeon had to break my ribs instead of separate them.  My, the things you find out after the fact!

Hope ALL of you ladies are doing well with your quit dates, cutting back, your stress and so forth.  Candles being lit for all of you healing and about to undergo surgery.  I love you all very much.  You are an extension of my family!  Hey, you know what else I learned today?  I am a survivor!   Also, pats on the head for quitting smoking from my bs and ps.  Felt pretty darned proud.

    Nitey nite,

    NancyLaughing
