Pantufas, great story on the wheel chair costume. I would love to see sll of us get together and dress up and raid someone party. It could be the Halloween Wally World Mad Dash. BCBF/K Halloween Haunt night.
Ellie, we will all do it someday!!! I will go in and start all of your profiles and send your link by pm. It's still in the working progress but will love any input.

Hey gals, I know you are all busy so I hope you see this soon. I forget where I post sometimes such as did I do it here or in FB. I will be mailing out her card tomorrow afternoon so there is still time to add your message. Going to the post office around 1:00pm, hopefully we are not snowed in but it does not look bad, really wet snow.
I did mentioned a get well card and colleting money on FB to help her out. Sorry I forgot to do it here. I know we are all hurting but it is not too late, you can alway pm her.
I have started this terrible schedule where I start working later, than play FB games, then sleep in later and I am turning into a real night owl. I blame it on FB as once I start, it is hard to stop so I end up staying up later.
I am still smoking and I feel bad about it. I feel like the Chantix is out of my system, no more acid dreams, kinda miss them, lol, and cigs taste better. I will be trying again soon. I hate this struggle and sometimes I am afraid I will never quit. Starting BCBK helps me to stay focus and not give up and quietly disapear. I think I need this more than most of you, lol. I think to myself if I keep posting here and work BCBK, I will quit one day.
Have a crazy week finishing my results, thank you letters plus more. And get my house ready for Nancy. Hey Nancy, my puppy is not pissing as much!!! Good news.!!! But carefull, she likes to crawl into small spaces and poop.
We all have been getting tough breaks, will have to post some cards for you all.
Much love,
Janet
P.S. Email me your message and I will add it to Nadine's card. I hate buying cards so it is a rare occasion for me. Probably because it becomes is hunt for the right card and todays card seems really dumb. But I am happy with the cards I found her, so that is awesome!!! janetzingano@comcast.net or pm me

Congrat's Athena-Lioness!!!! Thank you for checking in with a progress report and encouragement!!!
Big (((((Hugs))))) to Everyone!

Awesome Athena!!!!! Congrats to you.
Facebook has gotten this thread really slow, lol. Infact I spend alot of time on it, my neflix has been sitting there for weeks, lol. Come on newbies and oldies, take the plunge and don't give up. Smoking and cancer does not mix and will higher your odds for lung cancer. Have to think about yes, this can happen to me and most likely will if I do not quit!!! As soon as I am a bit more settled, I will make a new quit day!
REKoz, miss you, are you back yet?
Pantufas, how do you feel?
Nadine, will always support your quit smoking.
Nobleanna, always miss you.
Denise, our angel of support.
Malleme, we will get there one day!
Fifish, love seeing you here!
Candie and Cleo, how many days do you have in. I think Cnadie has 6 months. Congrats!
Marybeth, hope you are doing okay. I worry about you.
I know I have missed some of you, that means it is time to post, lol.
Hugs,
Janet

Get well soon Nadine. And I hope the others who got the nasty flu bug are feeling better.
Big congratulations to you Janet for the event.
Still smoking here...1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. Ugh I feel sick and run down from the smoking. I wish I could just say F-U to the cigs.
Love to all

A quick note. When I seem to get better I then get knocked back down. I quit smoking on Aug 4th and did smoke while in Denver. However no smoking since and also have no desire to smoke any more. I will drop in from time to time and see how everyone is doing, however will not be posting on a regular basis any more.

Hi to All Smokers,
I smoked for 48 years from age 17 to 65. I smoked my last one on Halloween night of 2006.
I still don't know what motivated me or how I ever did it. LOL But I did use the nicotine
patch and needed it for 6 months. My doctor said fine....better than cancer sticks.
There is a great site called Quit Net that helped me too. I joined it and met loads of great
people going through just what I was doing.
Good luck to anyone trying to quit.

Hi Ladies,
Still catching up on the tournament. Still learning about doing a charity event too as I add more jobs to my list such as thanking the stars, BC ladies, etc, on the result page and I am a terrible writer so it takes me a while. It may be another week till I am done as my first charity event was a disaster. Because of that I have more work to do after the tournament. And when I can take a few days off, I will try to quit again. There is a new Janet coming out in 2010, after 2 years of bad luck and even bad luck at my events. But all of this crap is making me tougher!!
Hi Cleo, quitting is hard and this time around is the hardest for me. But I remember what Nervous Knitter once said, it took her almost 3 years and it wasn't until she got past a lot of the BC recoveries. So we can't give up because our time is coming up. You hang in there and I hope you feel better!
Awesome Candie!! You are so strong, I wish I was as strong as you. Thanks for the support and congrats on your 6 months, that is huge.
Hi Spar, thanks for your post, my first time quitting I had a hard time for the first year too. Wish I never picked up again!
Nadine, sorry you had smoked in Denver. I saw you and Nancy smoking together so I thought it was okay to smoke in front of you, otherwise I was going to hide it from you both. I should of told you both before coming out that I was going to hide it from you to help support your quit smoking. You both probably assume I was going to smoke in front of you and that might of triggered both of you to smoke. Live and learn, sorry about that, next time I will communicate better. Awesome that you quit again! You should be getting your card soon. I will always care about you as you had touch a spot in my heart, through good or bad times, it will always be there as that is just the way I am.
Thanks Catbird for your tips, I will definitely check it out. Congrats on your quitting!! Ha, you are coming up to your birthday of being smober!
Nancy, we will quit together! I am going for the gum this time.........Maybe do a few things such as those sucker ones, can't remember the name. It's cold here and I went to go buy a shovel but was sold out everywhere I went. The black outs we get here also hits some of the local stores here too so going to make a survival check list, let me know if you think of anything as this is the first for me.
Miss the rest of you ladies. Will post this thing on how to be tough from one of my fight friends in facebook but it is cool.
Hugs to all,
Janet0 -
Here it is, from Oregon BJJ. It would be awesome if someone re-wrote this for BCBF/K ladies or cancer survivors. Pantufas, aren't you a writer??
Whatever we learn to do we learn by actually doing it. I don't. You can't wish yourself tough; you can't find toughness, the only way to learn how to be tough is by being tough and doing tough things. It's tough to be in the gym every day, it's tough getting up early and doing the extra training eat right, sleep all the sacrifices and dedication is tough. You become tough by being tough; I guess I could say you learned how to be tough, but it's not something you can learn though is something you are, and what you do.You can have all the talent and God given gifts but without toughness you will only go so far. We have to make tough decision, tough choices be tough on our selves. The more often you do what's tough, the tougher you become. Society is always encouraging use to seek comfort, but toughness is not found in the comfort zone. Toughness is found in doing the tough things only challenges and yourself motivation to do tough things will deepen your toughness. You can't live in your comfort zone, you must constantly challenge your toughness by doing tough things, you can use you comfort zone to rest in, not live in. You can go to your comfort zone to relax and restore your energy as you mentally prepare for you next tough decision, or challenge.
Love,
Janet0 -
Ok, I am getting ready to start a new quit day. I am down to 5-8 smokes a day (WAY down from the pack plus that I use to do). But, now I am comfortable with that, so it is time to knock it down again.
Congrats to all you quitters! I am so proud of you all!!
Love
Ellie

Ladies don't know if Janet or Nancy posted pics from Denver. If they haven't pm me and I will post.
Also don't know if I posted or not...a growth in my neck was discovered while I was sick with swine flu and pneumonia. There was great concern by the doctors. My cancer doc will followup with that next month when I go for my 4 month check with him. I am so tired of doctors.
Good luck on the quit ladies...Chantix was the key for helping me quit.

HI Nadine,
I was so wipe out that I totally forgot about bringing a camera which is really rare for me as pictures are important. Can't believe I messed up on that one, but I only had 3 hours of sleep in two days and half a sandwich and the week before was pretty hard to. So I was in la la land trying to do business. I would love to see your pictures and I will talk to Nancy about pictures. I will also talk to the people who went out for dinner and see if they have pictures. I will not do a next time by myself again for sure.
Nancy, I want to post you new smoking room. This will help us to quit!!!
It can be very cold here and you have to bundle up to go outside. It's sunny now and the snow is melting quick.
Let me know your date Fifish, that is awesome. Maybe I might be ready at that time.
Hugs,
Janet

Hey ZinZin, ladies, yep! Those icicles on your lights will probably do it for me. I plan to quit with you anyway. Don't you dare feel quilty about me and English smoking at your house. We are grown and no one twisted our arms. I do hope you are feeling better English and I'm proud of you for quitting again.
I was going to call you Zin, when my phone gets charged to thank you for the cutest crazy cat card! You are so sweet and I love you. I will call you later on tonight. Thank you very much!
You really sound determined fishbucket. I am with you all the way and everyone else who is cutting down or quitting outright. I did it once before for seven years and never had a craving. My life was full then. The boys were grown but I still had Flarbio and we did so much together. The boys were always dragging someone home for me to feed. I loved those years. I need a new beginning. My kids are grown and have their own lives with their own problems. I am calling this my cancer year and it pretty much sucked. I am living alone for the first time in my life and I miss people. I miss the interaction, the nuttiness, the give and takes. I have been isolated and only saw my sister, BIL and doctors upon doctors. I love people too much to be alone. I feel free now, to follow my star wherever it will take me. I believe it is hovering over Janet Zingano's apartment in Denver. Zin, don't worry about how I will do in a blackout. I have been known to use an outhouse and wash in an outside wash house with water piped through the kitchen window. I had an old wringer washer and the clothes froze as soon as I hung them on the line in the Winter time. This was how I lived in my first year of marriage. There was only heat in one room and the rest of the house froze. The water froze, the pipes froze, his mustache froze and my a@@ froze!
I'm really glad to see people posting again. You have been missed and I am really enyoying the new blood. We have to keep this thread and friendship alive!
I didn't get any dead pics. Someone else was taking them. Rats! I was too busy trying to make like a carpet on the cement! Surely someone at the restaurant has some. There were a lot of cameras going, including mine but I didn't have it set for night. I'm still having to learn the darn thing so none of mine came out. I do have a couple of good ones of Zin and English but I don't know how to post them.
Zin, don't beat yourself up. You win some, you lose some. That's the name of the game. I think it's called LIFE!
Happy Spook night to everyone and have a really good weekend. I know it's not Halloween yet but I'm wishing it now. Well it's time I pulled my big girl drawers up and set about cleaning this house and slinging stuff out.
Love to all,
Nancy

Janet,
Really liked the writing about Toughness. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Hi Ladies, set my alarm clock and hit the snooze only twice today. I never use to use the snooze feature but I am trying to get my hours normal but then I think, maybe I should keep these hours if I bartend. I am tired though
Sorry you are going through so much Nadine. I hope that growth turns out okay. You have been having some tough luck and I know you could use a break. Sending you positive vibes.
I was thinking about the writing on the toughness, but we forced out of comfort zone on that one. Hmmmmmm...............I do want to write one up that caters more to us but I don't think I am bright enough or talented enough to write something like that. Maybe it is something you can write once you have processed all of this. I glad you like it Cleo.
Pantufas, I have been alone since my divorce, lol. So I know how that feels. I do have a few neighbors who drop by all the time. But I am really looking forward to the nuttiness that we will create!!! I am glad you know what to do with a black out in the winter as this is new to me. But since I do lose things all the time, I have 7 flashlights, lol. I have 3 pairs of scissors and I usually can't find them so I am thinking about buying 4 more. I have about 20 zacto knives for art work and I can only find 2. Sometimes I have about 3 mayonnaise jars in my cabinet because I forget I have already bought them. Welcome to my wacky life, lol. Oh.......and I make loud noises in my sleep.
FIfish, I am still wanting to know what you are wearing. I have a whoopee cushion so I think I will give the kids a trick instead of a treat, lol. Lucky them I don't remember where I put it.
Happy Halloween everyone!
Well back to work! Want to get this stuff done soon so I can work on BCBK.
Love you all,
Janet0 -

Welcome bsain! It's hard but you can do it. I keep thinking my recoveries might of been better if I didn't smoke and I am slowly killing myself. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing! Weekends are a little slow here but some have found posting helps even it is to say AHHHHHHH!
But if you need time to yourself, then do it. This is your time!!! Find 5 things to do instead of smoking. Sending you positive vibes and hugs!!
I am a bit hung over and having a hard time being motivated, lol. And have a lot to do today, uggh! Hope you all are doing well and had a great weekend!
XOXOXO,
Janet

Let's all give bsain some support and give her your favorite quit smoking tips. Mine is cardio and games, sugar free candy, breathing, walking.
Sunny here in Denver and walking around in tank top. Sending you all sunshine!
Janet0 -
I wonder who has stopped smoking on the stop smoking thread???????Really, how many? If not so many, maybe we need to start a new thread called REALLY WANT TO QUIT...........you gals here have developed a wonderful sense of friendship which is honorable. But you are really not helping the gals who want to quit. You are all still smoking! Too bad this is such an active thread here...........because it is NOT helpful to the newbies.
EDITED TO ADD: send to facebook. That seems to be where you SMOKERS want to meet.

Sue No one asked you to visit this site. I checked back to see you comments and it seems to me your really not looking to support anyone. AND YOUR NOT EVEN A SMOKER I BET. SO PLEASE KEEP YOU STUPID COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. NOW DO YOU WANT TO SEE STUPID.....NOONE NEEDS YOUR CRAP ....Yes the women has supported each other and that is the purpose of this site YES. NO Judgements that's us. Maybe you should go to facebook because you not sending any positive vibes here. good bye. stupid....

Oh malle! Let her rip!!!! We have all gotten along fine without your kind of support Sue-61. I don't know where you get off but I know where you CAN GET OFF!! We are a tight, close-knit bunch and you won't see any wagons circle any tighter that when someone thinks they have the right to criticize any of us. There are quite a few that have quit and only check in periodically. Others have gone on with their blessings to us. Excuse us for breathing that we love and respect each other and are there for the ups and the downs of life that a thing called breast cancer has brought us together. It just happens that we smoke, have quit or are trying to quit. Have you got nothing better to do than try to stir up trouble where there was none? Get a life!
This was edited to correct spelling not to make any assinine remarks.

Welcome Bsain..wow your doing great..How are you feeling with the chemo??? A lot of us have used Chantix and have really gotten some great results. It takes away the craving pretty much completely. I suggest using lolly pop or gum too. But the really most effective method is to believe in yourself.. we all know how stressful a time this is but the strength and will power is within each of us. For some it feels like BC is our new internal boss and controller at the moment and loosing our cigs is letting go of ourselves. But giving up the cigs is really about regaining control. Try meditation, walking, deep breathing till the urge passes. The women on this site are wonderful and supportive. WE do not judge and we are honest because getting thru BC is hard enough for ourselves and our families. Welcome

Hi Sue, been a very long time since your posted here, not quite what I expected. Your ignorance has made you angry, but quitting isn't easy for everyone and some give up and go on their way. THAT is what happen to a lot of the gals, or maybe they found something that worked better for them, hat's off to them as there are WEBSITES that have more support. I remember going to nicotine anonymous and I remember this guy showed up every Sunday smoking. Now if we would of turned him away, he may of never quit. The group not only supported him, they had faith in him. It took him over a year and he had a really rough ride. Well we all are having a really rough ride too. As long as you have the will, then keep posting, because we have faith that we can quit, no matter how long it takes. And that is what we are about. Hat's off to Malleme and Pantufas for supporting this thread. Through our trials, we have become great friends, and this thread has had a good vibe till you came in. No Judgments ! We have about 4-5 girls who still post who have quit. You can't expect the same result as a NA meeting in a thread, I know because I did those meetings for about 4 years, there is something about human contact for that hour a week. But maybe we will get there one day, this thread is less than 1 year old.
Hi Bsain, hope you made it another day. And I hope all of this did not scare you. We are usually a very open fun loving no judgment group, supporting each other quits or tries and the up and down of this terrible rollercoaster ride of BC at the same time. Candie has over 6 months, Cleo is up there I think too. O2bhealthy has over 4 months, can't remember all of them as I know there are others. Nadine has about 2-3 weeks but she had quite for a while and back at it again. Nerous Knitter went on her way. I think Webbie gave up but do not know for sure, hope she is doing well. Same thing with Pantufas, quit and started back up, she and I will make another quit day along with REKoz hopefully. This why we are making a website to give more support for quitting and put up some common asked questions that one has, such as healing and smoking, favorite tips, quit days, etc. Quitting is hard enough as it is without adding BC. But it all comes down to your mindset and your will to quit. No one can give that to you, you have to find it. Maybe it is just one thing your heard in here or somewhere else that helps give you strength. But let us know how you are doing, I will be here just about everyday to help you the best I can.
Ladies, let's show love!!! I am coming up soon on another date and I will try to be stronger for all of you too.
((((((((HUGS)))))))) lol,
Janet0 -
Janzin you are quite the writer...nicely put.
Bsain how are you?
