Hi Ladies.
Ok, I am back from the PS. He said I am looking and doing fabulous. He has taken me out of that horrid compression bra. I am to wear any bra I want.. he said that underwire would be ok for my since I have feeling there. I will NEVER wear underwire again though..LOL...
He did say my radiated side is already getting harder. He said for me to start the massage asap and he showed me the firmness to do it.. OUCH... but.. he said ..reconstructed breast with implants... we have to massage like this the rest of our lives with implants.. daily. ( I THOUGHT he was against massage.. I was totally backwards.. he is REALLY for it... if it is done right and real firm...
Um... I do have rippling..
.. only when I bend over. He told me to see what happens with it over the next two months. If it is still there.. he is going to try some fat graphing if I am willing to go through it twice.. 'cause he said it 99% of the time will not take the first time...50% the second... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... we'll see if I do that... so far.. it only shows if I make it show.....
I can go back to the gym in a WEEK... WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. he said I did not need to wait 6 weeks... WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Oh... and he said I could do permanent tats in two months. .. but I am going to wait on that.....

Deen - big congrats to the new gradma, this is just wonderful, something positive to focus on.
mooma - glad you ar home and feeling OK...what do you mean by seeing and feeling the implant, can you see the impression of it?......Malcolm is back on the list as of yesterday, major rejection of the organ...he is home.

I had 300 TE and was filled to 420.. could have done more,, ((HUGS))

OK Ladies (AKA the real experts),
Had my pre-op today for my surgery on 8/10. PS said she ordered Allergan smooth round high profile 300 & 325cc silicone gel implants, she thinks she'll use the 325cc. My te were filled to 250cc, had planned to fill to 300cc but had a stitch that was poking at my skin and she didn't want to take any chances with it coming through and having to deal with that or an infection while I was still in chemo and I was OK with that. My ribcage is 29" and I'm 5'0 98lbs. She says she thinks I'll be a large B or small C cup which is where I had thought I wanted to be. I don't want them too large as I'm a small person. What do you guys think, is she right about what size I'll end up?

Celine, your TEs can take quite a bit of overfill. My TEs were 350cc and I was filled to 460cc. 40 should be no problem at all.
Saw PS for my first revision follow up this morning. He said I had a lot of encapsulation around the implant that he cut free. Then he opened the lower pole pocket. He also said that there was a lot of breast tissue behind the nipple. He took all of that and sent it to the lab. He said it all looked like normal breast tissue and didn't see anything to worry about. The whole reason for the bi lat in the first place was to get rid of the breast tissue. I didn't even know BS was going to do nipple sparing until I woke up and he told me he got all the breast tissue behind the nipple. How do we ever know what they've done? Well, it's all gone now and I feel good about that. No wonder I have more pain than with the exchange.
Mooma, glad to hear you're feeling better today. Your TEs looked so good I'm just betting the new girls are great. I left a note at the picture forum about seeing and feeling the implants.

mooma-good to hear from you. I hope you are taking it easy. So, do you mean that you can trace the outline of the implant with your hand, or are you just conscious about them being there?
Deborah- if you are still keeping track of surgery dates, my exchange was bumped one day from August 11 until August 12.

I am 5ft5ft1... 115pdsish ( shhhhh).. and rig cage is 29 1/2
My implants are Mentor 450cc HP. smooth.
I am a good C cup. Look good on me.. I was a B and it looked ok.. but I look better... more proportioned at a good C cup.. ( who knew...LOL)
If you go to the top of THIS page... the links Jean has posted... On is this site... you can compare your implants to mine..
Mine are 12.8 by 5.1 This makes me a good C.
Yours will be 11.2 by 4.6
Meaning.. I would guess you to end up a large B cup. If you were thinking small C.. I would g for the 350 .. Deborah or Sandy?
This is my thoughts since you are kinda my size.. but a little smaller...

I had this done too Firni, at my exchange.. I just took my pain pills about 5 days.. that is all.. the pain from cutting all that scar tissue leaves pretty fast. I was told to FORCEFULLY massage the new implant where I did have that scar tissue ( I got it from rads).. so Have your PS teach you about this.. My PS told me dh can do it for me if I do not have the strength..OUCH!... but dh could NEVER do this.. he would be afraid of hurting me.. I just might have to tell him to SUCK IT UP! LOL My PS did it for me today on my breast to show me the stregth needed and force.. He told me not to be afraid of hurting the implant. I admit.. It kinda hurt.. but.. not as bad as other things.. so I suppose I can do it daily..

I would like to join your thread. I do not have an exchange date yet but I'm told it will be in six months. Just finished rads 2 weeks ago and now will be waiting to get the exchange done and i guess i will be lopsided for 6 more months oh well not much i can do but i only starting reading the last page and hope to catch up and meet everyone on here as i have been occupied on a few of the other sites like rads etc if i hooked up on all of these my family would never see me i am sure you can all relate to that lol well hello all and hi to some of you who i have been in contact on the other sites.0 -
Deen, CONGRATS! I am thrilled to have you in the grammy club! I became a first time granny one month post mastectomy....she is three months old now and the light of our lives! She is a living and breathing and cooing reminder of how much JOY life holds to offset the suckier stuff! Enjoy every minute!
I thank all the wonderful ladies on this board for your kind well wishes....in 48 hours, I will emerge as "old softy", my newly claimed alter ego! SO looking forward to sleeping through the night in the not too distant future! I will check in post-op....I learned today that my husband (who has been laid off for about 3 months now) will be in a second interview for a job while I am under the knife...hopefully, we both have a great outcome! MISTY: Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about Malcolm. After all he went through, to have rejection occur is just awful. It just happened? Know that my fingers are crossed (and eyes and toes and whatever) that he gets one that works for him... Keep us informed. JUDY0

Laura, PS did show me how to massage to get my implant to settle better into the lower part of the pocket and keep the encapsulation from building up on the top. Being just a day out of surgery, it HURTS. I'm to do 5 reps of the massage 3 times a day. Actually it's more applying pressure at the upper pole forcing the implant into the lower pole. Then massage the upper inner breast where the scar tissue was. I'll tell ya, between manual lymph massage, breast massage and extra make up coz of no lashes and brows, it takes forever to get my morning started. And I don't even have enough hair to have to deal with it yet!!!!
oncRN, good luck to both you and your husband. It's ridiculous trying to find a job these days. I've been looking since last Aug. Of course being dx with BC in Sept, no one really wanted to hire some one who required so much time off over the first year of being employed. So, I'm on the hunt again. I pray that your new alter ego is terrific and your husband gets that job!!!!!

Laura, Thanks for your input, I appreciate your time. Hopefully I'm happy, not sure I'll want to go through another surgery. Hope you're feeling better every day. My ps did mention massage too, gave me some diagrams on paper and said she would show me after my surgery, said 3x a day, then 1x a day forever if I can remember. Said that the scar tissue can build up at any time in response to something. That seems crazy, but I guess you do what ya gotta do. Your grandbabies in you pic are adorable. When I started reading here I figured they were your kids, you look way too young to have grandkids. HUGS, Dawn

I am new to this thread. Deborah suggested I join your discussion. I am inspired by your posts, your support of each other and the knowledge that you each live your lives each day taking care of your families and yourselves with grace and humor.
My issue is certainly small in comparison to each of yours. In 1989 I decided to have bilateral subcutaneous mastectomies with implants. Long story...which I won't bore you with. After 20 years, these need to be replaced. I live in Texas...specifically San Antonio. I am new here and am looking for a surgeon who is skilled in this type of surgery. As you can imagine, the phone book has a ton listed...and of course, their web sites all say they are wonderful. My physician in South Carolina suggested I have these replaced...but, she can not recommend anyone here. So, am turning to the experts...you ladies. Can you guide me?

Dawn, I think 325 cc's sounds appropriate for a B cup. With 250 cc's in your TE's - implants 75 cc's to 100 cc's larger I think will be very nice for you. Remind me though, your PS is using HP's?
