Estepp Thank you inviting me to this area. Hello everyone. I am going through this with you all...so here I am intruding and thanking you all for being here. I'm sure I will get through this all with some help.. I am 33 years old Dx with DCIS Jan. 2009. Bm 1-26-09. with reconstruction. ps put 500cc in at one time. Crazy man needs to have his breast expanded that full. I think that is why I am in suck pain. When I've looked around here and other places no one has had 500cc in at one time. I am in need of people to help me and be part of my life right now that can relate. Thank you. I wish I would have started sooner. I though I can handle this... I am stronge... I guess I need some others to relate and let me know what to expect.

Welcome TG and you are not intruding... no way!

Yvonne... "Laura WHO?".. HYSTERICAL! ( even though the pun was on ME)... seriously though.. you are HYSTERICAL.. you should do stand up!!! I am still laughing! HAHAHAHA...spontaneous funny... LOVE IT!

Tracey.. I wanna see.. :):)..... and yes, 6 more rads!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO You ROCK too sis!

I have a story that WARMED my heart.

First.. Ladies.. if you think NO ONE is watching you in this journey.. you are wrong!

Rads today.. getting my coffee... looked over at the woman about my age and said.. Hello, are you about done with rads too? She said yes, she had 8 more.. I told her I had 6 more, and good luck to her. ( you know the small talk we all make).. anyway.. This women said... " Hey, I am glad you came over to say something to me..I wanted to tell you something before I never see you again. I see you come in here every morning.. and you come in with a smile and you go in and go out and keep moving.. you have inspired me to "keep moving".. thank you."

WOW.. I have hardly noticed this gal.

Ladies... keep you chin up when you can.. "they" are watching.

I am off to E-bay to find a key chain that says.. " Keep Moving" to give to this gal next week...

God is working in all of us!

    Love to all!

    Laura

tg33, there's no such thing as intrusion on these boards. :) Please keep us updated on what your PS does about your 500cc fill -- are you going to ask him to remove some so you're more comfortable? All this crap we go through is bad enough without extra inflicted on us!!

Laura -- that's so cool. I'm glad she told you -- it's something for all of us to remember!

I have a friend here at work whose sister has a friend (still following?LOL) who was just dx. My friend says it's "very advanced" but not exactly sure how far. She's in her mid-30s, is a hair stylist, and has no insurance. I told her to tell this woman about these boards and what a great place of support they are. But if all of you could add her to your prayer list, it would be much appreciated.

Sheial - My heart just hurts when another girl gets that awful news!  Doesn't it take you back to the moment you were told??? Hate it, hate it, hate it and all you can do is pray for the best...so...praying for her too!  Do you know her name Sheila?  It has been a praying kind of day already and I've only been up a couple of hours.  A lovely young girl I know emailed me to ask me to pray for her dad, who has been cancer free for a couple of years and now might be dealing with it again.  I hate this crap!!!  Doesn't it seem to you that not a day goes by that you don't hear of a friend of a friend or a relative or somebody that you know and care about gets the awful "C" news???? I swear I have run into 4 different people this week who have told me that someone close to them has just been diagnosed.  I lay in bed at night and hope I haven't missed praying for somebody that needs it!!!

tg33 - welcome and many gentle hugs!  You will find wonderful support here.  Hang in there.

Laura - wonderful story about your rads companion.  We never know when we will impact someone's life.  How blessed to be an inspiration to her!  Congrats on almost finishing rads!

Tracey and Sheila - I'll add Naomi and Maureen to my prayer list.  It sure is getting long........

Yvonne - you always make me smile!

    Hi Ladies,

I'm writing you from my hospital room. (Believe it or not, they have wireless access in all the rooms!) I went to the PS yesterday to have my questionable post-exchange spots examined, and this is where i wound up, for four days of IV antibiotics. I feel fine, except for some guilt at taking up a hospital bed when I feel so well. Also overwhelmed, as I usually am in hospitals, by how much manpower (womanpower) and money healthcare requires.

Tracey and Sheila, I have your friends in my prayers.

Laura, I liked your story, too.

Have a great weekend, all of you wonderful sisters!

Hi tg33, I know what you are feeling, And boy, do I feel for you!  Mine were expanded to 400cc's at time of bilat. mast. last May.  I was in such excruciating pain, I went back to PS to have some saline removed, had to go back a second time for even more removed.  Then it was quite tolerable.  I finally felt OK after 8 weeks.  I then had only 30-50cc's in at a time over 3 months.Final fill 600cc's with 550 silicone implant.  Then I waited another 3 mo for exchange. Don't be shy about asking your PS to remove some and go slower.Pain meds should help.  Have you gone to "CONTINUED TISSUE EXPANDER PAIN" thread?  You'll meet many wonderful ladies going through the same thing. JANET: My goodness!  You're in the hospital! Prayers for you to heal are sent your way! LAURA:  What a wonderful story. You are such an uplifting person. keep smilingLaughing, Prayers for " Maureen, and Naomi!Hugs to everyone!  Jeanie

Oh Janet - I am so sorry you are in the hospital! Hopefully those IV antibiotics will be what it needs!

Laura - I bet I would notice you too if I saw you at the doctor's office. You MUST radiate the warmth you provide to all of us!

Maureen- I am sending cyber hugs and thoughts your way.

So.... My PS provided me w/ my scripts for my surgery today. Antibiotics (again) and lortabs (again). The only difference is that for my BMx she gave me 30 lortabs and for my exchange she gave me 60! What gives?? Kathie says it is because the economy is bad and the drugs will be worth a bunch on the streets. LOL!! I think my PS has decided I am a wimp. But I don't think I complained too much, so I am not sure. I will be glad when this surgery is behind me. Now I know why you all said you are tired of surgery!! No complaints, mind you, I am ready to move on!

Lots of our sisters up for surgery next week - and a few are getting fipples!!! Yahoo!!

    4/7 - mhm123151 - Exchange and lift/augmentation

    4/7 - Auriga - Exchange surgery

    4/9 - sheesh1961 - Fipple surgery!!

    4/9 - Rockwell_Girl - Fipple surgery!!

4/09 - ChristiC - Exchange surgery to Allergen 410 gummies

    4/10 - ngcm05 -Exchange surgery to silicone

Take care and hugs to all my friends! - Jean

Lauar, I noticed the same thing at the blood draw station.  Sitting there waiting for my turn as we're all getting our blood drawn then going to see the oncologist on our way to chemo.  The first time I couldn't believe it, everyone was so somber.  I started smiling and saying hi to those around me.  After a few minutes our side of the room was all smiles, in contrast to the rest.  It's amazing sometime how much of a difference it can make.  (yes, I know, in contrast to some of my posts, I'm usually smiling and upbeat when out in public).

Jean..you know..all kidding aside. You will be glad that you have 60 instead of 30. I thought I would breeze through this and haven't. I have been lucky my folks at work have been so supportive but grateful for the valium the minute I get home, peel the spanx off, take my hot shower and lie down courtesy of mothers little helper. Was thinking about that Beatles song as I was popping my thank gawd my PS gave me Valium for my exchange surgery. You have a caring PS that thought about you and not her license.

Jean-My surgeon gave me the same large amount of scripts for my exchange as my mastectomy. I took more pills with my exchange. The pain pills didn't help with the mastectomy so I quit taking them. I also had the On-Q pump with bupivicaine. That was great! The pain was different. More incision pain (under the breast) but still muscle spasms (larger implants) and some chest wall pain at night. I could lay flat and move my arms and all in all the surgery was so much better. I also went back to work after 1 week. I am working 12 hours 3 times a week plus more and doing more than I should. Last night after a busy day at work I was soooo sore! I think I have learned my lesson. Just take it easy for 6 more weeks if you can.

Just a note to let everyone know that I had my exchange and port removal yesterday and feel almost normal today.  I took half a Vicodin before leaving the hospital and no pain meds since.  Surgery always aggravates my asthma, so that's my biggest issue today.  The plastic surgeon had planned to do a lift on my right side yesterday, but decided once he got me on the operating table that I wouldn't be happy with the results.  Since there was no signed consent form for an implant, he left that side alone.  I guess we can decide later whether to do the implant, probably after radiation when I know if there is damage to my new implant on the left.  At this point I'm wrapped up so won't know how things look for a few days.  Take care and enjoy the weekend.

I am feling so much better after this last ordeal.....I have only the right side a little sore where the revision and implant exchange was done...some muscle cramping that is manageable with the lortabs..I almost keep waiting for the other shoe to drop......cause WOW I haven't felt this good since last December when this all started.

weather here has been  great, and went for walk yesterday and today.....felt good to be out in the sunshine even if it is windy

hope we all continue to heal and get better....sorry to hear of those having problems.....take care and pamper yourselves.....I know you are all special "super" women .....hugs and prayers to you all

Oh my I am so very bummed!! For four months (since my BMx) all has been going so well, and my exchange is in 1 1/2 weeks and now I have a red area w/ a white pussy center right on the incision line!! I am so worried - yes, even scared!! I don't want to have an infection! I just want to be able to move on. My PS is out of the country so her partner told me to start antibiotics (oral) and call him tomorrow if no improvement. Either way I will see him on Monday. I know that so many of you have been through so much worse, but I am having a major pity me evening! Thanks for understanding. - Jean

Hi sweeties:  Just sending up more prayer for Naomi.  I will add St. Theresa's miraculous invocation for her as well.

If the news is not good: ask her to remember from all of us here, that we have heard "the worst news" and here we all are, all good friends, joking about our foobs and nipples and tight as sisters.  And when we are all old, old ladies, we will have great racks!  Everyone else out there will be droopy, but we will hot in the nursing home!

It's the club no one wants to join, but I am glad I did, as i met all of you on here.

However, that said: I am praying for Naomi to have benign results!!!!!!!

    xoxoxo

p.s. Sandy, you go, girl!  wow!!!

pps: The glow in the dark cherries came from a company called "reforma" out of Palm Beach, FLA.  Leave it to a fancy PS to come up with such a thing.  They include a glow stick so you can have a rainbow effect :)....however, the regular pair, are AMAZING and I feel really complete again.  You wear them for 20 minutes and they blend into your skin tone.

Hi all, JEAN, It does sound like an infection, I wonder why after all this time?  I'm sure the antibiotics will clear it up and you'll be on for your Exchange date!  Don't stress. It won't make it any better. Just keep the site clean. I am surprised he didn't put you on a topical antibiotic too.  I am dealing with my new fipples dying, so I know how you feel. I am now on oral and topical antibiotic. I just have to wait and see what is left when it all heals. BONNIE and ELAINE,Praying for you to heal and feel better soon.  So glad your surgery is behind you. Gentle HUGS to all you wonderful ladies!  Jeanie
