I was 29 when i was completely blindsided with a stage 4 diagnosis. Back pain. Hospital visits. And then ultimately the mother of all diagnoses... at 29. Years. Old...

So waiting until 40 for a 1st mammogram is what they want huh? 🙁😒

I was 66 and diagnosed Stage 4 Denovo.

For about 20 years, I had several tumors/cysts aspirated in one of my breasts, usually twice a year by a general surgeon. They all came back benign.

One year I missed a mammogram, so when I finally had it, it was Stage 4, had a single mastectomy (new breast surgeon), radiation, and chemo. I've been on the same chemo since 2008,when I was told I didn't have long to go.

I agree, too many young people are on this thread.

40 Stage IV de novo, first mammogram. From the looks of this thread, the recommended age should be lowered.

I was diagnosed one month before turning 49; so technically 48 in October 2011. Was diagnosed with IBC with mets to the liver right out the gate. Hanging in there. So many women on here diagnosed even under 40. Our medical community needs pay attention to the data.
