OH I forgot to add that I got the results of my BRCA test today and I do not have the mutation.. That is such a relief, especially since I have 4 sisters and a daughter and a bunch of nieces. My daughter has been getting lumps and she is only 21.. So I feel so relieved that her lumps are most likely the just changes in her breast tissue due to her cycle.. Her doctor is the one that suggested I get the test done so she would know how much she needed to check out her lumps.
So I was able to give good news to my daughter, mom , sisters and nieces today. That was GREAT

Thought I'd join you all here in the Waiting Room. I lost my right breast last July to IDC and did TC chemo from September to January. I've been on tamoxifen since February. Last month I felt a pea sized bump in my left breast & also started experiencing pain similar to the pain that prompted me to examine my right breast almost exactly 1 year ago. Although my PCP couldn't feel what I felt, given my history, she ordered a mammogram and an ultrasound. Those were both clear but the radiologist recommended an MRI just to be sure. (The tumor in my right breast didn't show on mammogram at all)
All the imaging I had this month has been clear, no evidence of anything. But, during a follow-up visit to my surgeon, I showed her the area that was concerning me. She said, she wasn't worried about the little pea sized thing I found but was worried about a larger mass of dense tissue close by that area. Once she pointed it out, I could feel it too. Similar to last year's lump but in a completely different location on the breast.
At that point we discussed whether to do an excisional biopsy (since nothing shows on imaging) right away or wait 6 weeks and see if anything changes. I opted for the 6 week wait but the next morning rescheduled to see her in 4 weeks.
I'm terrified at the possibility of spending the second summer in a row recovering from a mastectomy. And, as far as chemo goes, the 6 rounds of TC were really hard on me. I became so allergic to the taxotere I had anaphylaxis during my final treatment.
Thinking positively is hard but I'm trying to do so. I've never had any cysts or other B9 things. Perhaps it will be gone in a month? I'm praying for a good outcome but getting way ahead of myself with anxiety and worry.
I'd love to hear from anyone with a similar experience, regardless of the outcome.
Best to all
Lottie

Hi Lottie- Im so sorry you may be facing this again (((((((((hugs)))))))))))) There still is a possibility that maybe it is b9 mine was also a mass and not a lump, but I have a friend who had a mass, was biopsied and it was b9 there is still hope. I had TC as well and it wasnt easy but hopefully they can ( if needed) give you a different TX since there are so many news ones out there. keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

Lottie,
I am sorry you have to wait. I had a second lump right under my scar 4 years after surgery and they could not conclusively tell me it was not BC, so I said get it out. I wanted that lump out of me and in a JAR. So he removed it, it was about the size of a BB. It ended up being a ball of scar tissue. Yay...
You said you had taxotere, I am not sure but I don't think you can have that again.. I may be wrong but I think they would have to use something different and then maybe you would do better with it and not be so sick. But it is going to be B9 so you aren't going to have to worry about that.

Hi everyone,
I'm still fairly new to this whole thing. I had my first 3 month oncologist appointment. He said my tumor markers were low, they were 9, but my liver enzymes were high, 150. He said not to worry, we'll retest in a month, but it's hard not to worry. I ask him if that could mean liver mets and he said liver or bone, but he would be really surprised if it were. I had my exchange surgery 2 weeks before the blood work. Could all the meds related to that have caused the liver enzymes to go that high? Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Susie

Hi Lexislove-a very belated thanks for your post in reponse to my questions about a single vs double mx. I appreciated your input. I was to the point that any additional stress (my lovely oldest daughter age 11 is my challange!) was making me vomit. Anyway, I made appointments with the onc and plastics and talked to them both regarding my questions. Cried my eyes out-loudly, I might add, after talking to the onc, but on the drive home, made my decision on a unilateral. Immediate relief! As everyone has said on many a post on this site-waiting is the hardest thing. I had a left mx with TE on 5/7. 10 nodes removed which were neg-yeah! Clear margins. Final path showed tumor to be 3.5 cm (idc) and no dcis-which probably was gone due to the core biopsies done with the MRI. So, here we go. Port placement next week then chemo. Finally moving forward. Again, thanks for your response. Laurie

Hi Susie- In my case I tested 200 I asked him if it could have anything to do with drinking on my birthday a few days before I did blood test he said , it could, he retested and it was fine- There are several reasons why it could be high, heres hoping for normal results on your next test. I will keep you in my prayers ((((((( hugs))))

Thanks debbie6122 and sherryw. I'm staying on the positive side as best I can. To have a second cancer in my remaining breast is unacceptable. Maybe I should have gone for a bilateral mastectomy last summer instead of leaving the left one alone.

I had a breast mri and annual mammo today, first one since I got the implant and implant and lift in Nov. Needless to say, I was floored when they called me back an hour after leaving to sch and ultrasound and more pics because they are not sure if the area of concern (on lift side) is scar tissue or something else. Like Lottie, I am now questioning myself and should of went with a bilat, who needs this stress for the rest of their life? Anyway, who here had an mri and mammo and it did turn out to be "just scar tissue"? I am working 5 shifts from 3p today until 11pm Thursday. So at least I can focus on something besides boobs!

kjbell I had a pet scan done after I had my implant. After the scan I had to go back in for more scan of the chest wall on my good side. I almost lost my mind with fear. I turned out to be scar tissue. So its very possible. Good Luck!

Susie.....if you were taking tylenol for pain after your exchange that can increase you liver enzymes alot.

Sherry - congrats on the good news! Both of my onco's called me about my PETscan and MRI results, while I was sitting at the beach with my hubby and friend. It is always a scary experience when they call you! Getting results is the worst part!!!
I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!

My stress test came back normal, thank God! They say it is a shadow the the echo picked up from my dense breast. That is how they found my first breast cancer...beleive it or not! This time nothing to worry about just dense boobs which we already know i have.
Sherry, congrats!!
kjbell, how are you doing?
9 more days til my hip replacement surgery. I am scared. I will just wait here!

guess i'm in the "waiting rm" with everyone else. got my upper and lower scopes done today.. a beautiful picture of the mess chemo made. have 2 3, problems with upper; errosive duedueum{sp) a hiatiel hernia, from the constipation, probably, and some fancy sounding gastritis i cant even remember, AND she took 3 polops out and they looked "fishy" so of for pathology they went. next, the scans start. the truth of the matter is, they werent sure i would survive chemo, with my ms messing with it, and i'm still here. so, i'll just get on this carousel for awhile, with the rest of you ladies.. its not so scary since i'm on the boards, i know im not alone, or the only one nervous. hope all our test come out b-9!! light and love, 3jaysmom

ok..so, hip surgery on hold for the moment. Cardiologist called last night and went over everything again and thinks there might be a problem. I have to go see him on thursday..he wouldn't tell me over the phone. In the meantime , when I went to my PCP today.,,,my bp was 220/100!!! She sent me for u.s. of carotid arteries today and they sound funny. Will be in touch!!

Oh so sorry your surgery has been delayed Candie and hope all goes well with the tests:)
3Jaysmom, I had to have an endoscopy after chemo as was losing weight still and had no appetitte.Thankfully only a hiatal hernia showed which they said may have been from the anti anusea meds/heartburn as I did'nt take anything during chemo for this. It's kept under control by a daily nexium and watching my diet. I hope your's turns out to be nothing serious and easily treatable:)

Tricia,
I went for an endo after my chemo also. (Actually I had it at the same time as my colonoscopy)
I had bad burning al the time. Well, I have a hiatal hernia and acid reflux. They say it is from the Cytoxan I took by mouth. I,too, can keep it under control with medication and diet.

Oh gee, all these lovely problems. . .
3jaysmom, what procedure did you have done? I've been having lots of digestive issues and tried to schedule a colonoscopy (My grandfather had colon cancer at 50 so they okayed me having one now) but they said I need to wait 6 months to make sure I'm healed from chemo and hysterectomy surgery. What problems were you having, and how long did they make you wait?
Candie, I hope they've got it under control.
