Remember the black and white hard shoes?
I was born well after that. I remember walking into my homeroom for the remainder of my junior year and seeing an old friend from the 5th grade. We laughed when he found out that we would have a class and homeroom together.
Funny thing was we saw quite a bit of each other between those years. One set of his grandparents and my step-grandparents were neighbors!
I remember my sister wearing them!
One of my favorite childhood memories is laughing with my Mom. She had a great sense of humor and we always made each other laugh.
Seeing my Great grandmas garden it was wonderful!
Lazy days tanning on the beach with my baby oil and iodine.
My sister's best friend treating me like I was her sister.
Almost all my great childhood memories involve my Granny. She was 68 when I was born and I was the youngest of many grandchildren and I lived very near so we spent tons of times together. She went on almost all my class field trips with me and I even went with her on several Senior Citizen outings. We were quite the pair. She made the best fresh squeezed lemonade and I always felt like she was making it special for me. I have her antique lemonade pitcher on a shelf in my kitchen. When I smell honeysuckle it reminds me of her because it grew all around her fenced yard and she taught me how to suck the honey from the blooms. I miss her a ton!
justmaximom, So wonderful you have those great memories of your Granny. Thank you for sharing them with us!
