thanks for that memory, Foots! I was 6 when I was a flower girl for a cousin's wife. Her dad gave my first Barbie and my aunt knitted outfits for it. That's how I learned to sew.

My mom teaching me how to do plastic canvas at age 7. She did the main part of the pattern and then showed me how to do the stitches before giving it to me to finish.

I was born well after that. I remember walking into my homeroom for the remainder of my junior year and seeing an old friend from the 5th grade. We laughed when he found out that we would have a class and homeroom together.

Funny thing was we saw quite a bit of each other between those years. One set of his grandparents and my step-grandparents were neighbors!

One of my favorite childhood memories is laughing with my Mom. She had a great sense of humor and we always made each other laugh.

Almost all my great childhood memories involve my Granny. She was 68 when I was born and I was the youngest of many grandchildren and I lived very near so we spent tons of times together. She went on almost all my class field trips with me and I even went with her on several Senior Citizen outings. We were quite the pair. She made the best fresh squeezed lemonade and I always felt like she was making it special for me. I have her antique lemonade pitcher on a shelf in my kitchen. When I smell honeysuckle it reminds me of her because it grew all around her fenced yard and she taught me how to suck the honey from the blooms. I miss her a ton!
