M360 I am so sorry that you are going through this again... the worrying is one the worst parts.  Sending you prayers and gentle hugs that all is well!  God can carry us through anything all we have to do is "let him".  Many times it is hard to rely upon God and his promises, but it's all there and he gives it freely.  Worry and depression should not be in our vocabularies when we rely upon God but we are only human and it does... Much love from your sister/friend!!!

Lisa/pauldingmom -  hugs to you as well.  Hoping and praying for things to look up and have a positive change.

You know, it would be nice to go to a doctor and have him/her say that there is nothing wrong.

I have been having shortness of breath and heart palpitations for the last few months.  I was sent to the cardiologist, who found two things - inappropriate sinus tachycardia (my heartrate was measured to be an average of 120 bpm during working hours on a Holter monitor), and pulmonary hypertension.  So, on to MORE TESTS.  CT scan, pulmonary function test, and chest x-ray.

Will it ever end?  I used to think I was a pretty healthy person...

Shelby, I too was having some heart issues.  My doc said it was stress and that i should relax..haha.  The cardiologist said it was an extra hear beat, no problem.  I have just learned to ignor them.  That works for me.  They can't seem to find a problem.  Big onc said that chemo can be heard on the body and it can weaken the heart a bit then follow that up with radiation and it can effect the heart...Now I  hardly notice them.  It is good that you are having them checked, as you and I are two different people.

I was talking to my daughter who lives in California. She and her son have a cold. I said, gosh... I can't remember the last time I had a cold or was sick. Then I realized how dumb that sounded. I am falling apart but I still don't think of myself as sick! I am a healthy person who is just having a really bad couple of years. I keep waiting to wake up and see the old me in the mirror.

    Will it happen?

Hope it happens for all of us SOON.

Me too.  I also tell people that I am very healthy, except for that cancer thing.  They look at me funny and I am sure they are wondering if I am sane.  Well, all my other health issues are not life threatening and just a nuisance, acid reflux, neuropathy, incontinence, etc.  You know what I mean?  I go the the Onc on Monday, I am not expecting any surprises.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Renee, I know you are sitting in the hospital with your mom, hope things go well.

Thanks ladies, my mom is o.k.  she just has Asthma and when she gets sick she is really sick.  Right now it's the crud and a horrible case of Bronchitis.  She had several coughing spells where she couldn't get her breath.  They gave her 2 shots and some oral meds she should be all better in a few days.

    You all are the best!!!!

Juanelle hope all goes well with you onco on Monday!

Despite this being my ugly week a year ago, I am going to have a great Thanksgiving this year!  One year ago today I was having my first core biopsy done.  It is hard to believe that it has been a year yet it seems like it has been a lifetime.   My scans are on the 30th.

Renee glad your mom is going to be okay.  My mom has COPD and something so minor as a cold can become a major thing for her to.  Hope she feels better soon.

I can't think of anything more frightening than not being able to catch your breath. There are just too many ways to be sick in this world!

Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving. We are going to a daughter's house. She has a new boyfriend so wants to host the family group. Should be fun. Not everyone will be there... you know, other in-laws and out-laws :) to have to share your adult kids with :(

I love Thanksgiving... kind of a no pressure holiday. It's just all about the food! So there is actually time and energy to appreciate the people.

Pam how wonderful that you do not have to do all of that cleaning for Thanksgiving!  That in its self is something to be thankful for.  LOL!  But you are so right about it not being a stressful holiday.  You just get to enjoy the good food and family and friends.  Our Thanksgiving will be a little melancholy since my grandmother died a few months ago, and she was up and talking, walking and laughing this time last year.  You never know how long you have with someone... Be thankful and enjoy that time with your family this year.  I know that I will.  I don't take things for granted anymore.  Hope everyone has a great week.  I will try to get on Tuesday after my doctor appt with the breast surgeon and my mammo and let everyone know how it goes.  It's often hard because I have to share a computer with my daughter and it's her computer.  Wink

It is hard to believe that all of us were talking about Thanksgiving last year...what we would/could eat, who would bring the turkey...we have come a long way.

    (((((HUGS)))))) to ALL!

Sorry I haven't been on here much I've moved on to another stage and my head is now filled with TEs and implant sizing.  Not to mention "does this look normal?" fears every time I see myself in the mirror these days.

Our Canadian Thanksgiving has come and gone but I do remember the lead up to Christmas from last year very well.  We had to cancel our second family vacation because of my chemo and lack of energy the whole holiday was kept pretty low key.

Not this year - we are going away somewhere sunny and warm and I'm gettting out ALL of the Christmas stuff on Dec 1!!

Gotta make up for last year!

I agree, Marie. This is the year to make up for what we missed in 2009! We  just have to seize the moment.

I think I am ready for Thanksgiving.  We  have the family here, both sides, and will have about 25.  I have tried to spread the food out, so I will not have to do it all.  I am always afraid that someone will not show up that is suppose to bring an essential item.  Buy this year I am not worried about that, there is always too much food anyway.

Renee, I will let  everyone know how it goes.  I am not worried, but you know how that can change in a moment?

Marie, it is good  to hear from you.  Have a great time on your vacation.  I know you deserve it.

michele, you are so right.  Last year I tried to get out of having the party here but the family kicked in and brought everything.  All I had to do was sit around and enjoy.  Different this year, but I am so glad  I am able.

Pam, sounds like  you have got it made on Thanksgiving.  Man not to have to cook and clean for  everyone, that would be nice.  And besides Thanksgiving day is my 61st birthday.  A girl shouldn't have to cook on her birthday.  Oh well, I am just glad that I am able to do it.

Kittydog, we were all so spaced out last year, I could hardly think.  Glad we are all better and can probably taste the food this year.

Love to all, hope everyone has a good week.

It's good to read about everyone.  Good luck to those with doc appts this week.  I go to the onc tomorrow, and hope to write soon with an "all clear"  report.  Brother and mother are coming in tomorrow from Ohio.  Brother is staying with me, mother with my sis.  Should be cleaning and getting out to buy groceries, yet here I am on the computer.  It should be a nice holiday.  And I plan to make up for last year - remember what it was like to try to eat with a furry tongue?

I'm thankful that we're all here together this year, and for all of the support and love offered by this terrific group of ladies.  Love to each and every one of you.

    XOXOXOX,

    MARY

jojo, it is so good to hear from you.  Sorry about your daughter, but you have to do what you can to protect the baby.  Glad your lump wasn't the Big C again, I know  that was a relief.  Again, so good to hear from you.

I had my Onc appointment today and all is well, woooooohooooo.  I don't have to go back until the end of March.  That is so long, the longest it has been in a year.  It is such a relief to get past the appointment.  I also picked up my sleeve, so I am ready for my trip in December, I guess I am ready now.

Mary, have a a happy Thanksgiving and get lots of visiting in.

JoJo, Wish you could wave your magic wand and cure family problems. I guess it only works on cancer problems. The worry about your little granddaughter has got to be so stressful, not to mention the worry about DD but at least she is an adult. It's a huge decision to take on raising a grandchild but what else can you do? So sorrry for the emotional pain you are gong through and hoping you can find a solution.

It's great to hear about good test results! And to be free of doctor visits for a while :)  My experience has been that each routine test has triggered some new, albeit brief, concern that gets me all shook up, then gets resolved. Last one: routine follow up lung CT. Lung was fine but radiologist saw a "lytic lesion" on the scapula. This can be a sign of bone mets!!!! But follow up tests showed it was damage due to fall injury. But for 24 hours I was just undone. I've got to learn to take things in stride better.

Off to the grocery store today. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We do have a lot to be thankful for.

Juanelle ~ great news glad you get a nice break.  ME too ~ no oncologist till MAY!  woo HOO.  Still have the gyno and breast surgeon though.

JOJO ~ sorry to hear of your scare.  A fatty lobular is ok no?!  Wave your wand over it !

Mary ~ hoping you get an all clear so you can ENJOY Thanksgiving.

What a difference a year makes ~ last year I remember feeling so sick from chemo but insisting I make my tradional meal.  I forced my way through it.  This year I will be running a 5K on Thanksgiving morning and making a nice dinner for my family.  <3
