Hello everyone!
I just want to start off by saying that my friends biopsy came back BENIGN!!!!!! Thank you for all your prayers! She is so happy and relieved and I am happy and relieved for her. She is a very special friend to me and I would have hated to see her go thru BC.
We are traveling to Iowa on Thursday and coming back the same day. It will be nice to see the family and spend time out there away from home. We are only staying for the day because we have to come home to our doggies!
I am having a little concern and maybe some of you can help me with this. I started having a pain near my scar area, it hurts to touch and it feels lumpy. Could it be scar tissue or something else? It has always been tender to the touch, but now it hurts without even touching it. I was going to call my BS and talk to him about it. But have any of you had this?
JoJo-So good to hear from you, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Alicia- good for you for running a 5k! You are an inspiration!
Renee- Glad to hear your mom is doing well.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Jen

Jen ~ so glad to hear your friend got benign RESULTS ! that is wonderful. You had a lumpectomy? I would say anything that is lumpy and tender have your BS take a look at ~ Hopefully it is just scar tissue. HUGS !!!!!

Ditto to Alicia's advice.
But enjoy the holiday!

JOJO prayers for your biopsy tomorrow. Hoping and praying for B9 results ~
So sorry about your daughter treating you like that. I cannot imagine her being so cold after all you have been through. BIG hugs .

Hi All!
Alecia, good for you on the 5K! That's a great way to burn some of those Thanksgiving calories!
JOJO, I, too, will be praying for B9 results.
Jen, I'm so glad to hear about your friend! What a relief for her!
And to anyone else I missed with good news...Yay!
And to everyone needing extra hugs...here they are ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))
I also wanted to mention that I signed up to be a Chemo Angel today, and I'm looking forward to sending a little cheer during a really crappy time. An Angel was sent to me during my chemo, and I enjoyed getting the cards, notes, and gifts. I just wanted to do the same for someone. Has anyone else been an Angel?

Sherrill, sounds cool, what exactly is a Chemo angel?
Jojo, sorry that your DD is treating you so bad, especially when all you want to do is help her...kids....as you know the hugs we send cover every part of Australia, not just Sues area...we can love on you all..
Jen, yippy for your friend. I know your stress for your friend. While I was going through chemo my friend had a scare as well. Hers turned out good as well.
Alecia, great job in the run...I wish I had the desire to do something like that, but I HATE running...yuck. I am a Zumba gal..I like to shake what my mama gave me...but then again I have alot more than I was born with..lots of it is jiggley, it aint pretty, but it's fun.

Hi JoJo! I am so sorry to hear of all your troubles with your daughter. Its sad when we raise our children to be responsible and good people and then they only have foul words for us. I know how badly that can sting right to the very pits of your heart.
Jen so happy for your friend.. B9!!!!
I went and had my yearly mammo today and got great news... Normal!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to go back and see the breast surgeon till next year this time and get my yearly mammo again. I have much to be thankful for this year!!!!

Jojo, I'm sorry for the troubles with your daughter. We can only do our best when they are young and hope they make the right choices when they get older. It's so hurtful - sending love and hugs your way, my friend! As far as the biopsy goes - I had the same thing a few weeks ago, turned out to be fat necrosis and not a new tumor, so I hope the best for you!!
Renee, what a breath of relief to have that normal mammo! Whew.
Jen, hopefully it's a benign issue coming up. It's so scary, any change in our bodies means instant fear and uncertainty, but the numbers are on your side. Do let us know how everything turns out.
Mary, hope all went well today at your appointment.
What a difference a year makes! I'm definitely a different person than I was last year at this time. Still not where I want to be, but certainly in a better place than I was!
Much love to all, and hope everyone has a great week. I'm traveling on Thursday (not looking forward to the airport scanner), and will be out of town until Sunday. Going to my 20 year high school reunion on Saturday!!
Peace,
Shelby

Michelle, I actually learned about Chemo Angels from these discussion boards. You register to be a recipient when going through chemo, and your assigned "Angel" sends cards, notes, support, encouragement, and little gifts throughout. It was nice to get something in the mail each week when I was feeling like crap, so I decided that I wanted to do that for someone else.
Shelby, have fun at your reunion!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Sherrill, that sounds so nice. I have never heard of it.
Renee, whohoooo, go and celebrate.

Sherrill, I had 3 Chemo Angels-they were awesome! I don't know how I ended up with 3 but I did. I'm still in touch with them all. I've thought about signing up, but I'm a flake on things like that for the most part, but I should pay it forward! For those wanting to learn more it's www.chemoangels.com

I had 1 Chemo Angel (actually I think I technically had 2, but I never heard from the 2nd one!) I am also in touch with my Angel, mainly through Facebook. She is a sweetheart. On my questionaire, I stated my favorite color was purple and I liked Cala Lillies, so a couple of times she sent me purple Cala Lillies! Gorgeous! I'm excited to be on the other end of it this time.

Hi ladies - lots of pages to catch up on. I haven't had too much to post lately. I'm back to work full time and am feeling well. Hard to believe it's nearly a year since I started chemo.
Jojo - sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully she'll come around in the future. In the meantime, hang in there and enjoy your granddaughter knowing you're doing the best thing for her by taking her in.
I hope you are all doing well and I wanteed to wish all of you in the U.S. a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks Pam and Michele for the birthday wishes. My oldest son and his family are here now. They went to the movies, so I have sweet little Sophia. She is asleep now, but she is a mess. She helped me do some cleanup today and it was pretty funny, but she is only 19 months old. But she tried and that goes a long way.
Alicia, woohoo to you for even attempting to run. I just never have been a runner, but I do love to walk.
JoJo, sending you good vibes, hope all went well on the biopsy. I understand what you are going through with your daughter. I haven't spoken to mine in over 5 years and it has been 6 years since I have seen her. She just dropped out and flies under the radar, so no one can find her. I don't know what she is hiding but it must be something.
Shelby, glad your test came out OK. I know each pain or lump is scary. You have been through a lot this last year, but you seem to be coming out on the other side with hopes and dreams. I hope each year is better and better for you.
Sherrill, that is so good of you to give back. I don't think we have anything like that in our area.
Renee, woohoo for you too for a good mammo. You have had so much going on with you this year and it sounds like you have a very demanding job maybe things will settle down.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and if you are traveling, please be safe.

Had a wonderful day at home by myself. Did all my decorating for Christmas and all is well. Today has seemed more like Sunday.
Alicia, congrats on the run, I can't believe anyone can run. It has never been for me.
Hope all had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping.

Hello all. Hope you had a great Holiday weekend. I didn't let things spoil my being thankful for being here this year.
I am however a wee bit nervous about my scans tomorrow. Not so much of the results but of the IV stick, the injections, and having to drink the nasty chalk stuff. So if you think about it tomorrow, please say a prayer that all goes well. I have to be at the hospital at 1 and my last scan is the bone scane at 4pm.
Thanks.

OK HERE I GO AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME I TRIED THIS I ERASED THE WHOLE DARN THING.. I WAS DX IN JUNE 2009 WITH BC AND IT WAS CALLED STAGE ONE INFILTRATING DUCTAL CARCINOMA OF THE LEFT BREAST. I LOVE WRITING THAT OUT BECAUSE IT'S EMPOWERING TO ME JUST TO BE ABLE TO SPELL IT AND PRONOUNCE IT CORRECTLY.. I THINK WE ALL SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF DEGREE FOR GOING THROUGH ALL WE DO! DON'T YOU AGREE? WE ALL BASICALLY GET A REALLY GOOD CRASH COURSE IN ONCOLOGY, RADIOLOGY, PHARMACOLOGY. ENDOCRINOLOGY, GYNECOLOGY, HEMATOLOGY, ETC.... IS ANYONE WITH ME ON THIS ONE? I FEEL I KNOW ALMOST EVERY DRUG INTERACTION AND SIDE EFFECT FOR OVER 100 OR MORE DRUGS AND KNOW GENERIC AND BRAND NAMES FOR THEM. I DO HAVE A MEDICAL BACKGROUND BUT WHOLLY CRAP I LEARNED WAY MORE SINCE MY DX WITH BREAST CA THEN I DID IN COLLEGE I CAN TELL YOU. I AM ONE WEEK POST NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION FOR A SECOND TIME AND I AM STILL IN ALOT OF PAIN BUT LAUGHING HELPS. IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE I KNOW THESE DAYS. LET ME HEAR FROM YOU ALL IN THE SAME BOAT.

Kim. I have IDC as well as DCIS....lucky me.
0 -
Kim, I also had IDC as well ad DCIS. We do get a crash course in all aspects of this journey. Your DX was about the same time as mine and it has been an uphill battle, but I think I am going down on the other side. Good luck on your reconstruction and you are right that laughing helps. If we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at.

Kitty - Thinking about you today. You can do it, sister. XOXOXOXO
Kimberly - no joke! We should have a degree of some sort after all of this. At the very least, a new stripe on our combat uniforms.
Sugar - nice to see your face again! Glad to read that you're working and doing well.
Jen - so glad your friend is OK.
Alicia - glad the run was a success. What a cool thing to do!
Michelle - just howdy to you. Always like reading your fun posts.
Juanelle - Happy Birthday! You are a neat lady.
Pam, Shelby, JoJo, Eph., M360 - lots of love to you.
Onc appointment did not happen last week - my doc got sick and cancelled. They are going to call to reschedule (soon, I hope.) Have swollen glands under my jaw, and under my right arm. Rash on both arms and legs. I could go on. Pretty sure it's the Tamoxifen. I wonder if I'm fending off cancer at the risk of permanent damage in some other way.

Hello Ladies
KittyDog {{{{HUGS}}}} Good luck to you today.
I went to see my BS about that pain in my breast by the incision area, he thinks I have a small blood clot there, and there is not much to do about it other than apply heat and take Aleve for the pain. The pain as sort of subsided, but it is still there. At least he doesn't think it is more cancer, that is what me and my DH were kind of scared about. Although with all the ultra-sounds and scans I've has lately, I was pretty sure it wasn't anymore cancer, but i've has many surprises on this road I've traveled during this past year, as we all have!
Kim- I also had IDC and DCIS and there should be an honorary degree that we all get when we have to go thru this. But, no such luck.
Mary, I hope you start to feel better soon, sounds like you have a lot going on.
Prayers and hugs to all of you!
Jen

Kittydog ~ Thinking of you today....
Jen ~ sorry you have a blood clot, but glad it isn't something worse.
Mary ~ how long have you been on tamoxifen. I felt after the first few months the side effects subsided. They also took me off for 2 weeks and then put me back on and things seemed better. I have been enjoying a week break ~ as I have my foob surgery tomorrow. Send up good thoughts........
Hugs everyone !

Thanks all. Feeling quite yucky in the tummy still but I am home and now just have to wait for the results on Friday morning.
Not sure to be worried now or not. Last year I had to drink two of the Berry Smoothies. This year only one. Then during the bone scan she had me take out my foob because she wasn't sure if it was reacting to the stuff or if it was something showing up with my bones. Darn it too because when she repeated the test without the foob I couldn't see the screen. three more days to wait. lol
