Sherri- Congrats to you on finishing rads!!! Woo Hoo!! You made it and I wish you well from here on out!
Pam-Thanks for the info on the iron pills, maybe I should give them a try. I am very low on energy and just don't feel like myself. I see my onc next Monday, and I have a list of questions for him, I will put this one on there with the rest. Just to run it by him about taking iron. I totally agree with what you said about not feeling the same. I didn't do chemo either, but I have limited range of motion in my left arm and my strength is not the same in that arm either. I get tired more easily and have a tough time doing things that I enjoyed before. I am even scared to try to walk my dogs because they are rather unruley and pull a lot. I am afraid that I will hurt myself if I walk them. But it is something that I enjoy.
We are all tough ladies, no matter what we have been thru on this journey. I met an 80 year old lady who is an 8 year BC survivor. And she told me that she was there to let me know that I have a future and that there is life to live out there. She says she still goes on bike rides and walks with her hubby. She was very inspiring to me and made me feel some hope for the future.
Hugs
Jen

Jojo -- lol at the tita joke!
Pam -- yeah I'm achy and stuff too and not too happy about it. I think it's SEs from Herceptin in my case (at least it CAN be attributed to that, based on a list of possible SEs I saw on the Herceptin site). Doesn't make it feel any better tho I keep thinking if I would start exercising I would feel better... then I roll over and go back to sleep (hehe).

Hi Everyone, it's been awhile since I last posted here, but wanted to let you know that I seem to be achy all over also. Since completing Rads, I am on no medication!!! I feel like an 80 year old and am only 45! My Mom moves around looking younger than me!! What IS THAT ALL ABOUT????

Happy Wednesday, All:
Shelby - so glad your last zap is near. Hooray!
Pam - sorry to read that you are not feeling like your same old peppy self. We have been through a lot - stuff that affects mind, body, and spirit. When the big push to get through treatment is over, it seems like every last drop of adrenaline is G-O-N-E. I think our minds and bodies go on strike - they just slow down and try to process everything and repair. And of course the drugs don't help much.
Sugar - happy 46th, girlfriend! You are more fabulous than ever - celebrate your sweet self!
Jen - tried to PM you and did something wrong. Just want you to know I'm in your corner. Sorry about the many bumps in the road. Hope your doc can tell you more about feeling so crummy. To repeat what I wrote to Pam - we've been through a lot.
In fact, for all of you, this is what Dr. Mary prescribes:
Stake out some prime real estate on the sofa, get a heating pad for the achy places, watch some trashy TV and have a good snack. Repeat two times and call me in the morning.
Much Love, Mary

Michelle oh what a wonderful gift a cottage vacation, you deserve some time of peace and relaxation.
Alicia love the new picture.
Well ladies I do understand all the aches and pains. I'm nearing 60 and I walk 2 miles minimum every day (even during my hospital stays, I figured out how many times I had to walk the hallway to make a mile.) but try to make 10,000 steps a day so that I keep up my metabolism. I wish I had an appetite, I have none, my weight gain is all due to medication. I'm so frustrated I've been in limbo because of my immune system being on Enbrel for so long, after my radical mastectomy I got an infection and it's now four weeks on 3,000 mg of antibiotics. Lymphedema therapy is something else too. Today they told me I had to much swelling in my neck and shoulder and in elbow even with me wearing garments. Then they said I've been doing too much. I looked at the lady as if she was crazy. I really have slowed down and really taken care of my arm, I think it's just my crazy body swelling. Then I woke last week with all feeling in my leg gone, at first I thought I was just sleeping wrong but still nothing. So tomorrow I go into the hospital to see if somethings wrong with my spine or is there a tumor growing pushing on my nerves in my spine. Can't a girl catch a break?! So I still haven't started my chemo or had my port put in because of all the above and wondering everyday is BC moving through my lymphs or elsewhere, also wondering if this worry will ever end?
Marion thank you for the CYP2D6 info, my doctors have been saying will I be able to take Tamoxifen or not, no one ever mentioned a test to see!
So ladies I've gone through menopause had a partial hysterectomy over 10 years ago, but they kept one ovary, why I can't figure out, probably the only one that didn't have problems. So if I'm ER+ and PR+, why can't they just take out the other ovary and wouldn't that stop any estrogen/progesterone levels? This would be so much easier than Tamoxifen or any other medication for me with my health conditions. I'm so tired of BC, doctors, test and people poking at me and discussing me like I'm not even there with my medical history and then saying you're a miracle. No, I'm just a stubborn determined woman who doesn't give up. Well enough of me venting.
Take care all of you, hope the coming week is pain free and full of fun and laughter. I think of many of you during each doctor and hospital visit and say to myself, I am not alone in all this.
So thank you all again for caring and sharing.

Pam I know what you mean but I have had a few extra issues thrown in there, my get up and go got up and left and it does not seem to be coming back!!! Make sure they check your thyroid if they haven't in the past while. They upped my synthroid so maybe i will start feeling better.
Sugar great news
Shelby glad you are almost done.
M360 you are an inspriation. I feel down becasue of lack of energy but you just keep going, thanks for sharing and I hope you get some relief soon. Take care

Good to hear from you M360. Sending lots of love and hugs. Tell that infection to take a hike. And the lymphadema, too. I said a good prayer for you tonight, so put your hand out in the air and stir it around... do you feel the good stuff coming your way? That's lots of well wishes and healing power.
Keep us posted.
XO, Mary

Hey ladies it's been a while... first of all my dad is home and doing well!! Thanks for all the prayers. Juanelle I'm glad you got to come home early for a change. Grandchildren are tireless aren't they, but so much fun!!
M360 said a prayer for you and hope you do well.
Jen hope your lymphedema is doing well and you to.
txtstardust - sorry that your DH is being a horses butt. They often can be. They just don't seem to have a very clear understanding of what it is or either they are in complete denial and chose not to understand. not really sure which? But at any rate i hope he gets better and becomes more supportive.

I keep finding myself fishing. In a boat, on a bank, in a river......0 -

Hello all~ Happy Earth Day!
I am celebrating Earth Day by not driving the 30 miles each way to work today. Besides the fact that I feel pretty crummy, I thought it was a good thing to do. Thank you Mary and Alicia and everyone else for the kind words and thoughts. I am still having the dizzy spells and today feel extra crispy because my tummy is just in knots. I don't know if it is something I ate or what. I also just feel really tired and run down today. So, I thought it was a good day to stay home. But then I start feeling bad and wimpy. Maybe I could have made it in, I hate when I start feeling bad for taking care of myself. Crazy, I know....
M360- You have been through so much! Keep fighting, you are an inspiration to us all. Sending many hugs your way.
Alicia- Good news about your hubby, glad to hear he is fine
Hope you all are doing well today.
Hugs

PauldingMom -- what is your emotional state in the dream? Contentment? Anxiety? Alone fishing could be a serene feeling (self-reliance, surviving on your own)... or could mean you feel adrift.
Hi ladies -- hugs to all!
0 -
They are serene I guess. We are re doing all our finances so I guess I'm looking to catch something big. I'm just walking along, and see a lake, river, ocean and start fishing. When I see a bug or worm in my dreams I pick it up to catch more fish. I'm also on Ambience so that may have something to do with it too.

LOL -- I think that's it (the wanting to catch something big) -- so it's a hopeful dream!

Hi girls,
Here is a picture of my hair growth as of today..... lovely color of charcoal gray No?! lol

I'm jealous of your hair, Alicia! Looks great!
Paulding, water in your dreams is usually indicative of your emotional state. Is the water calm, bubbling along, turbulent? How deep is it? Also, in dreams, every thing in the dream represents you in some way. So the bug/worm is probably you looking into yourself, searching. Do you catch anything? (This is my completely non-expert opinion after taking a course on dreams in college!).
Jen, I'm glad you stayed home! Everyone needs a mental health day once in a while. You are not allowed to feel guilty, that's an order!
Hope you all are doing well today!
Blessings,
Shelby

I was posting away and had it just about finished and for some reason I hit something and went to another page. It makes me so mad when it does that and then you lose the post. I don't even know what I touched. I was typing my last sentence. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Alicia, you hair looks great. It will not be long before you will be able to style it. Happy hair growing.
Jen, so sorry you are still having the dizzy spells. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Renee, glad you father is home and doing better. I am sure it is a relief.
Paulding, I know nothing about dreams, but if the river was calm, then I think it would have a calming affect.
Michele, Happy Earth Day, I don't think I did anything for Earth Day Today, but maybe tomorrow. There is always tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a great evening.

HI ALL
ALICIA
Your hair is looking like mine but ive got about 35% grey through it and i like it soon we will be able to do the tuck behind the ear thing , ive been using NIOXON ( something like that ) shampoo conditioner and scalp tonic it seem to work well
All you ladies seem so sweet and such strong ladies its amazing to come out of B/C and be like that , you can imagine how easy it would be to become very negative and down on everything and every body and to become very bitter but i guess even my self ive become More tolerant to people and I'm smelling the roses a bit more than before, i just love having a good time with my family well most of the time any way im still human though i havnt really gone back to work i only do 2 half days now and that suits me fine i fill my days in with rads , and going down the beach with our puppy he is such a joy to me good therapy, and just being around the home my husband Sam likes me not to work he gets worried about me doing to much and would rather me staying home taking care of the family and myself im lucky financially i don't need to work more a little extra $$$ of cause would help
Well about the aches my blood test come back all good yah, so ladies i guess it all boils down to the treatments even though they say its not any side affects to chemo or rads hey i think its sometimes about the experience and not the knowledge hey how many oncos do you know of who have had a dose of chemo or rads ah .Hang in there girls try and look good on the outside and you might start to feel goood on the inside ???

Alicia your hair looks great and I see very little gray in there. Just remember though... there is hair color when it returns to it's full length and glory. LOL!!! You choose the color. :=) I change mine throughout the year. Sometimes I am totally blonde, sometimes mixed with a little brown. Right now I am a brunette with blonde, red, brown and black chunks. haha!!! I get a kick out of changing my hair. My DH never knows what my daughter and I will come home with. :=)
JoJo I have some of your aches and pains, but I am blaming mine on my Tamoxifen. They have only started since I began taking it. I don't have them all the time but I do notice that they seem to really flare up when there is a significant change in the weather. My legs and back are what ache the worst. Once the weather levels off and the humidity dies down the pain goes away. It's very strange because I've never had arthritic type pain. I do now with estrogen being blocked. I'm trying to live with it to see if it gets any better at least till I see my Med Onc in August again. I must say I'm not very hopeful about this particular side effect from what I've read. But I'm trying to stay positive.
Renee
