Jen good luck on your walk! By the way how's the arm doing? I hope all is well.
Juanelle, how are you? Haven't heard from you in a few days and we do know you work ALL the time. HaHa!! I think you work more than I do. You definitely are a go getter, as we say in the south.
Alicia, are you on your cruise yet? If so I hope you are having an amazing time! If not then have an amazing time while you're gone. Since starting the Tamox I don't remember so hot sometimes. :=)
Kittydog, I hope everything works out with your little girl. Sometimes it is so hard for a child to understand what is going on with their parents especially at a young age. Hopefully with some counseling she will be able to understand and accept that you are o.k. and not going to die. Sending you and your family hugs and prayers.

Hello everyone.
I have been so busy lately. I did finish all my overtime at work and am back to 40 hrs a week. Boy I was ready. Since that is over my DH is ready to spend some time with me, so we went camping last weekend and just enjoyed being together. We had lots of things to keep us busy, with several appointments we had to keep, but we were still spending lots of time together. This weekend I took my grand baby to Oklahoma to my sister's retirement party. We went one day and came back the next, then my son came to get her today, but didn't leave until about 5:00 this afternoon. I am so tired, but it is a nice tired, not fatigue like when doing treatment.
It is great to read how everyone is doing.
Jojo, I loved your story of putting the message in the bottle. You are such a clever girl.
Alicia, hope you had a great time on your trip. I went on a cruise last year and it was great. So much food.
Mimi, hope your dad is still doing well and that you are doing well.
Jen, we will all be there in spirit while you do your walk. Am glad you are getting better and are over the dizzy spells. I have heard of several people having this lately, so maybe there was something going around.
Kittydog, I do hope you find something that will help your daughter understand. Children are so sensitive and it is a good thing that she is expressing her feelings. You will find a way I am sure.
I am very far behind on my reading and posting, and I am trying to catch up, but it will take me awhile.
Hugs to everyone, you guys are always in my heart.

Hello everyone. Just got back from a girls weekend with my friend...ahhh so nice to relax and sleep in and eat out...back to reality now....sounds like most of us are doing well...keep up the good work. I wish I know if I was cancer free or in remission...didn't think to ask at my last appointment.

Hello, ladies - Good to read about all of you. Welcome back Michele and Alicia. Kitty, hope things get better for your little girl. Kids are so smart - they don't miss a thing. I agree with Jojo, it's probably a good thing that she's talking about it. Jen, glad to hear your'e feeling a little better. Juanelle, sounds like life is going along nicely, and that's great.
Mimi, Paulding, Lilah, Sugar, Eph3-12, and everyone else - lots of love to you.
I am hanging in there, doing phys. ther. for my back - bad case of scoliosis. Bone and muscle pain is aggrivating - from therapy and tamoxifen. I'm kind of crabby when it really hurts, but still managing to get back to some kind of a normal life. Will talk to a specialist this week about IV bone builders and those that come in pill form. Need to start something soon - need strong bones to do back surgery. Onc has decided to keep me at 10mg of Tamoxifen for now. If the SEs go away in a few months, we'll consider upping the dose. For now, this is just about all I can handle. Will talk to all of you soon.
XO, Mary

michele, I am also assuming that I am cancer free. I know before I started chemo, I was, so I would assume I still am. I haven't asked the Onc, I just don't want to know at this point. I have done everything that they have suggested.
jen, I am really glad that the OT is over and it will be another year before I have to work it again. Unfortunately, that is one thing that is certain, we have to work OT once or twice a year. Next year I will have to do it twice, what fun. I really did enjoy my family and plan on doing more of it this summer.
Mary, hope all goes well and your SEs go away and you can get back on track. I am taking Actonel for my bones because I have osteopenia and since I started Arimidex I have to be very careful. I am also suppose to take calcium twice a day. This certainly is the gift that keeps on giving.
I have started working out with a personal trainer twice a week and I hope it gives me the courage to lose the weight that I have gained since chemo, but who knows. I am trying, but it is not easy at work, because there is always something good to eat.
Have a good evening all you wonderful ladies, hope all is going well.

Juanelle, thanks for asking about my dad! I actually talked to my dad this afternoon and he said he is doing better everyday and he feels great. He is doing so good. I am really happy for him. That is one relief off my mind. He goes back in a few weeks for his follow up. My little sister left today going to her great aunts in Hawaii. (not my Great Aunt)... we have diff mom's. Anyway, everything is good. I started taking Vit. B12 tabs, D3 caps and Calcium + D this weekend. It's amazing that it stopped me from being so hungry. Hope it continues hold true.

I started radiation treatments today. So far all is great. I also had an appointment with my oncologist for a follow up. I asked the question what did he consider me and before I could finish asking the question he replied Cancer Free at this time. I told him he made me happy and made my day. I got a great big hug in reply. I love my Dr. I don't go back to him for seven weeks and then we will talk about my future plans. I asked if that meant going on something for five years and he said yes. I told him I had talk to his NP about having a hysterectomy and he said it was probably my best option. So I guess he is leaning towards me having more surgery. I will also have more scans scheduled when I go back.
Hope everybody is doing well and having a great week!
Oh thanks for all the well wishes for my DD. She loves the good news!

Hi everyone - I had a much-needed, long weekend in FL on Mother's Day weekend. It was good to not have BC in the front of my thoughts all the time. There were actually times when I forgot about BC during my daily routine - what a great feeling! I think it also helped to be disconnected from the internet for awhile, so I extended my 'leave' when I returned. I have a follow-up appointment with the rad. oncologist tomorrow, just routine. My skin has healed very nicely, just waiting for my lumpectomy scar to settle down.
I'm glad to see that everyone is managing as well as they can.

Hello Ladies,
I hope you are feeling well this evening.
Jen: It's inspiring to hear about your walk coming up. I love your idea of taking names with you. I am struggling to get any exercise started. But I do hope to do a walk next year.
For now, I just got on the schedule for reconstruction (end of August). They are starting me on physical therapy soon for that. I was about to go anyway because my shoulder is really hurting. I hope I can keep up with those exercises and work. Sometimes it just seems like too, too much.

I hope everyone is having a great day.
I am home sick today. I guess I have just been too busy and haven't slowed down to rest since finishing my TX and all my work. My DH came in sick last week and I usually don't catch stuff from him, but this time I did. Went to the DR yesterday and I have an upper respiratory infection. Feel like crap, but doing better today.
I also have started working out with a personal trainer and worked out with him on Monday and I am very sore from that. I have got to lose some weight or I will be on blood pressure meds before too long. I don't want to take any more meds, I am taking enough.
c2will, glad you had a good weekend away. It is good to not think of BC for awhile. I had my grandbaby over the weekend and she doesn't leave much time to think about anything but her. It was good.
sharkey, I am having trouble with my left arm and it really hurts. I will probably have to do some PT for it also. The DR thinks I have a pinched nerve in my neck. I just know I am not having any more surgery, at least not now. Good luck to you.
Hugs to all you wonderful ladies.

HI ladies,
I am back from So. California where I was staying with 4 3/4 yr old GS while his parents went to Hawaii. They had a great time and GS and I had a great time. Flight was a killer - so crowded - felt like a sardine! Nothing nice about flying anymore :-( We went to see Furry Vengeance,, a movie only a 4 yr old boy could love! Great visit to the Children's Science Museum but very crowded... but all of southern CA is crowded!
I missed getting to visit with DD but loved the alone time with GS.
DH barely survived. Ate pizza three days in a row :-) But he did have flowers all over the house when I got home. Nice to be missed.
Great to catch up on everyone. Juannelle, hope you feel better fast! But good for you with a personal trainer! Love the gardenias... I used to have one and loved the scent in the garden. We attended a wedding in Nantucket where the church was decorated with large ivy balls dotted with gardenia blooms. Heavenly aroma!
It's good to be home.

Hi all just stopping to check in. It's been a busy, crazy sort of week. Juanelle I hope you feel better soon. Pam I'm glad you had a great time with your GS. You are so right... home is where the heart is and it is always good to come home.
By the way... I love Gardenia's as well! I just don't like all the bee's that go with them. LOL!

I am feeling much better. I guess the meds helped. I am still congested, but at least I can breathe now.
I also love Gardenia's, but they will not grow everywhere in Texas.
Pam, glad you had a great time with the GS. I sure the uncomfortable plane trip was worth it just to be with him. But I know it is always great to get back home.
Renee, I am feeling better and am so glad, I hardly ever get sick and this really caught me by surprise, but you can't dodge this stuff forever.
I went to the chiropractor today for the first time in my life. I am having so much trouble with my left arm and I read on the internet that going to a chiropractor could help, so I am giving it a try. He said I would really be sore tomorrow. Boy I can't wait for that.
Hope all is well with the world for everyone and have a great weekend.

Juanelle, I love the new avatar pic!! You look great!!! Chiropractor's work miracle's. I need to go badly myself. I hurt my back last week helping get one of my resident's out of the floor in the shower and it took 4 of us to get her up. I have been having back pain ever since, I just can't get off work in time to go. Maybe one day. Good Luck... I hope it helps you!! I have been before and the one I went to really helped me with my neck problems and migraines.

Hello there friends. Good to hear from you all. I have no idea what gardenias smell or look like....I know nothing about gardening. I buy plants and hope like hell that they grow. I usually get only things I can't kill.
Juanelle, glad to hear you are on the mend....and I don't think I can say it enough...I LOVE YOUR HAIR SHORT. You look younger...Who couldn't use a little of the fountain of youth. Good luck with the chiropractor....never have been, myself.
Pam, sounds like you were busy...your kids are lucy to have you to come and care for the kids...
JOJO, missed you my sweet....glad you are smelling the roses...it is so important isn't it.
Big hugs to you all.

Hi Ladies,
It's amazing all the pains that seem to show up...the arm, the neck, the back, the poor, poor feet. At least tonight my feet are tired from dancing (just a little bit, but boy was that fun).
Juannelle, I hope your breathing better and you get some relief for the arm. Mine's the left too. I still forget not to reach too far and wind up crying, "ow, ow, ow!" pretty often. I tried a few of the old PT exercises this morning, just to get going on something.
Mimi, I hear you about the work. I keep wondering how to balance the PT and the counseling I just started with the crazy work schedule. I am reminding myself that neglecting my health because of work may have contributed to my getting sick in the first place. That helps me to be sure to carve out some time and to try to be more balanced, but it's a challenge.

Micheleboot- You poor baby you are missing out on one of the best flowers ever. The don't grow up north but down here they are fairly hardy. I've found you need to keep them close to the house so the roots don't freeze in the winter. They are every greens and get big white creamy blossoms. They smell like honey and heaven all mixed together. The blooms bruise if touched so you have to handle them very carefully if you cut them.

Hello ladies!
Hope you all are doing well today. I had a crazy busy weekend. My oldest son got Confirmed this Sunday, so we had a little get together at the house with some friends and family. It went very well, we all survived the heat that has crept up on Chicago this week. It is wreaking havoc on my lymphedema though. My hand has been a complete mess the past fes days since it got warmer. I am nervous about how I will do on the walk with it. My onc isn't optomistic, says it will be pretty bad, and I believe him. Oh well, I'm doing it anyway!
Juanelle and Michele- Love the new photos of you both! Juanelle, hope the chiro can help your pain. I have never been to one, they scary me to be honest. Glad to hear you are feeling better from your illness.
Michele- I don't do any gardening either, that is my husbands current obsession though. He has planted so many Japanese Maples and rotedendens (sp?), azaleas, and various other bushes in the yard. No gardenias though, I don't think they grow up here.
Abby- Glad your doctor made you feel better about your diagnosis. You are a fighter and never forget that! Good luck to you as you start your next phase of treatment. Also, very glad to hear your DD is doing well.
Pam- Welcome back! Glad you had a good time on your vacation. We sure missed you on here.
Renee, Jo Jo, Pauldingmom, Alicia and anyone else I missed, hugs to you all and have a wonderful day!
