This is becoming my daily dose of medicine "this great thread" with such witty, passionate, and intelligent women! I love the education I am getting on my own faith. I just love it! Please keep coming back and sharing I don't know if it is all the praying or just the understanding but I feel just a bit better.
Special prayer today that popped out of a book I am reading!
St. Teresa of AVILA
Let nothing disturb you; All Things are passing.
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Nothing is wanting to him who possesses God.
God alone suffices.

Ladies ~ I know that this thread is intended for praying for our BC sisters, but may I please ask you to send up some prayers for my niece? She is seven months preganant and has been exposed to swine flu. (She's a teacher, and two of her students are confirmed as having swine flu.) Thank you so much!
Father God, thank you so much for leading me to this wonderful thread. I love and appreciate all my sisters here and ask you to be with today as they go about their lives. Please hear their prayers as they ask grace for others. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Hugs to all,

Thank you all so much! Niece got in touch with her OB Tuesday afternoon; he has given her some medicine to take from now until she delivers the baby. I'm believing that it will ward off the flu, and that everything will be fine.
Again, thank you all!

It was back to work for me, so I have not been on the site much. My sister and aunt were also in town from Cali. I always say a special prayer for all the intentions of the special ladies at BCO.
Bless you all and have a great day.

A great hymn from morning prayer today...to the tune of Morning Has Broken!:
This day God sends me
Strength as my steersman,
Might to uphold me,
Wisdom as guide.
Your eyes are watchful,
Your ears are listening,
Your lips are speaking,
Friend at my side.
God's way is my way,
God's shield is round me,
God's host defends me,
Saving from ill.
Angels of heaven,
Drive from me always
All that would harm me,
Stand by me still.
To St Peregrine and St. Agatha for all my BCO sisters intentions....Amen!
God Bless!

Sisters,
Thought you might want to pray for the Pope's intentions for the month of September:
Pope Benedict XVI Prayer Intentions - September 2009
General: That the Word of God may be better known, welcomed and lived as the source of freedom and joy.
Mission: That Christians in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, who often meet with great difficulties, may not be discouraged from announcing the Gospel to their brothers, trusting in the strength of the Hoy Spirit.
DAILY OFFERING PRAYER - O Jesus, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians. I offer them for the intentions of our bishops and of all Apostles of Prayer, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.
And through the intercessions of St. Peregrine and St. Agatha I pray for all the intentions of my BCO friends. Amen
God Bless!

Hello all - I'm glad to find this thread. Haven't been on the boards for awhile and something just called me today! I'm sure it was this!
I am a Catholic 'lifer' and very proud of it. All the stories and prayers here are so uplifting. I've know of St. Peregrine for many years and his is a lovely story. Agatha is inspiring!
St. Anthony is my confirmation saint! Yes - I'm a girl but I took the name Anthony. That made the Bishop startled! I was the only girl to take a male name. But my family has always had great devotion to St. Anthony and 5 of the 6 of us kids took the name at confirmation.
The morning of my mast, I had my St. Anthony medal as well as my dad's (deacesed) medal of the North American Martyrs (he wore all through WWII) and my doc spotted the St. Anthony right away! Very cute! And it was lovely - I had written a prayer for my surgeons and the staff to say before surgery and he held my hand and we prayed. I looked up and a number of nurses and other staff had stepped in to also pray. They were touched that I prayed for all of them - but I was awed that they all came in to pray with me! While it was still a scary morning, I felt at peace and calm facing my surgery knowing I was in Gods hands and that He had touched the hearts of all who were caring for me.
It is so wonderful to see all the stories and beautiful prayers. You are all inspiring!

Great story, Amy! Thanks for sharing! I prayed for my surgeons and nurses, too...albeit silently! Good for you for making it a "special" occasion. Can I tell you, that the most gratifying few moments I had throughout my ordeal was when I was in the hospital being treated for an infection of the TE, when one of my PS partners came in to see me. He saw my rosaries on the table and told me to keep up the prayers and that he prays it with his young family! That meant so much to me!
Welcome!
God Bless!

This is a beautiful prayer. I said it on the way to the hospital ~~
Loving Father, I entrust myself to you this day. Although I know You are in control, I am apprehensive about what faces me. Quiet my heart, and through your power help me to handle my fears. Guide with wisdom and skill, the mind and hands of the who minister to me today. You have provided them with the needed skill to perform a miracle in my behalf. Watch over them Lord, and all who use their special gifts to care for me. Sustain me by Your grace and heal me according to Your will. Give peace to my family; keep them in your love and care. In Jesus' name. Amen

Hello my friends, Can I humbly ask for your prayers? When I went thru chemo I got really sick and really depressed. I was suicidal. I am finished all treatment now, except for arimedex, and have been feeling really good--strong and healthy. I am starting to feel a teeny bit of depression creep in--nothing at all like this past winter--but I fear it. I am gaining weight and feeling bad about that. Please pray for me to focus on the love of Jesus and MAry and help me stay emotionally healthy. I am pretty sure I am ok, maybe just panicking a little, b/c the depression over the winter was so horrible.
Thank you. In sisterhood xo

Lovemyfamilysomuch...of course we will pray for you! This whole ride is a rollercoaster of emotions...up, down, sideways, but going to Jesus and Mary, as well as the saints is exactly where you should be! Jesus never leaves us alone to go through these times without Him....yet for whatever reasons....we do feel alone...but you are not! You have us and all of Heaven.
Perhaps you would get some solace from this publication.... http://www.directionforourtimes.com/docs/booklet-depression.pdf
Heaven is really here for you!
God Bless!

love my family you are included in my Novena to st agatha of which I am on day 6 for you beautiful ladies, and I really pray with faith for each of you especially when I get to the part about overcoming adversity.
I have also been very down and I have consulted a therapist, I had one of the better days today and I think it is because I discussed my feelings and let my emotions ride out I also made myself exercise twice today and then relax in the pool. My body hurt and I was tired but I was not wound in knots and sick as I usually feel at night. We have to keep the body moving and let the emotoins come out and we have to have faith real faith sink into it and believe.
DAY 6 Please St AGATHA intercede for my ladies here and special prayers for Love my family

For lovemyfamilysomuch:
Dear St. Dymphna;
Please lift our sister's spirit up so that she may feel the healing power of the Risen Christ in her heart, her mind and in her soul....
Help her to bring her pain to Jesus, so that he the infinite Healer can minister to her and surround her with all His love and care.
Allow her to feel the peace that comes from knowing that she is a special child of Jesus who is greatly loved and is called to experience that love in all its fullness. Should her sadness persist help her to offer her pain up to join in the pain of the Passion in order to bring goodness from all her suffering...but then please bring her to total trust in the Lord and His love for her.
We ask this in the name of the Risen Christ, Amen.
