Just PM'd you Ellie.  I don't think Old Town has a Metro station for Traci.  Crystal City does... blue or yellow line.  Can we meet a little later than 10?  I have about an hour and a half drive... 11:30?

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54.

A heat wave compared to what we've been having!!

Sorry... I stand corrected, there *is* a King Street Metro station.  I'll need a little over an hour and a half to drive it, though.  We get out of Mass at 10. :-\

Where does everyone else live?  Can we find a central place to everyone? (Except me since I'm out so far)

    Marie,

I was thinking how easy you would be to pick out of a crowd as tinkerbell....now I'm not so sure :)

    All,

I am familiar with Old Town, and I have a good friend near King St. Metro that took me in for two weeks after my Bi-Mx. I will look up the restaurant to see how far it is from the metro my foot. Be right back........

Traci, we talked about Crystal City too... a little closer for me and lots of restaurants.  But that restaurant looks amazing...   I'm not too familiar with Old Town, even though I was born in Alexandria!   You guys might have to start without me...  we have Mass at 9 and I can get on the road after that.  Is 11:30 ok?

Janet, what about you?  Are you close enough for Old Town or Crystal City?

Michelle - I wish we all lived close enough to visit.  I hope we can all meet one day.

Paula - I'll bring my camera!

I can do either Old Town or Crystal City.   You could drive straight down Rt 7 all the way from Leesburg - (King Street is actually Rt. 7).  I was born in Alexandria too!!!

Old Town is about 5 minutes from Reagan National Airport (DC).

Janet - actually I can drive all the way down Rt. 7 from Berryville...  I'm going to take the same drive Skip and I take every day to work.  No rest for the weary, eh?? :-)

Where in Alexandria were you born?!  I spent my first 7 years in Warwick Village (well, one year near Landmark) and was baptised at St. Rita's.  Then my Mom remarried and we moved to McLean.  My Aunt and cousins lived off of Duke Street... kind of close to Cameron Station.

Yes Tori, Janet is about right .... 4ish hours.  There might be a puddle jumper flight from Norfolk to Reagan (DCA).  Then you'd be really close!

On a sad note:  my daughter asked that we put an acquaintance in our prayers.  A friend of our neighbor was in a car crash today with a tractor trailer in Michigan -- his wife died but they delivered the baby she was carrying.  Baby Maranda has brain damage and they're discerning whether to take her off life support this evening.  Please pray for Maranda and her grieving father and her mother in heaven.

My most sincere prayers for your neighbor's dear friends. God Bless Baby Maranda, Her Mother and Father. May there be a host of Angels surrounding them all, and help them to accept God's will. In just a moment our lives can change, let us cherish each other.  One cannot imagine the depth of grief her father is experiencing, if only we could take it from him for a minute. God please be with him every step of the way, please give him Peace.

    Tori,

I have hopped the bus from Norfolk before, maybe 3 hours? Wondering if there is a train? I know there is a train stop in Richmond. Richmond to DC is more like an hour? ish...

I know I would love to swoop you all up together, but each person who cannot be present physically will be represented! (you may Fed Ex your cardboard lifesize replicas to my new digs, and I will take you there :)

So either one is fine with my...let's do the easiest for all, and I am good for later as well. Does anyone have a time cut off in the afternoon? Remember too that the trains do not run as frequently on the weekends, so give yourself a few extra minutes.

Janet can you make it too?

Sisters, I promise we will include you as much as we can, that's important to me as well. We have come together so many times, and we are all part of the same prayer circle.

Would love to join all of you, but I already promised to drive north this Sunday, so I'll be looking at the New York skyline while you are all getting together.  Maybe the next time. It is about a two hour drive (plus traffic) for me, but  we do travel through the area on a regular basis.

THERESA..I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Will be praying for that family!!!

Sisters I am also asking for prayers as my father in law was admitted to the hopsital tonight for a blood clot to his leg. He also was supposse to have a biopsy next week and now they have to postpone that at least a month. The scary part is that they said blood clots of unknown origion can be indicitive of cancer, so I ask you keep him in your prayers.

As long as he is released from the hospital I will be there Sun... sisters who are not able to make it you will defitnely be there in spirit in our hearts as we are all together on this journey far or near!!!! There is a connection !!

    Hugs to all

    Maria

Marie - prayers today for your father in law.  God bless him and his family.

Pat - have fun in NY!

Maybe you all know the answer to this, but I was looking up long term effects of chemo since I'm ALWAYS sick.  There's a field called psycho-oncology.  I had no idea.  I could probably benefit from a psycho-oncologist... many days I feel like a freak!  Tired, sick, hopeless, depressed.  Other days I'm fine.  But I also wonder if it's menopause too.  So many ailments mimic each other.

One of the things Father wants the men to do (in Skip's Covenant Keeper's group) is to consecrate and enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Skip was reading to me what that entails and it sounds very awesome and detailed.  A priest can do it or the leader of the household.  Has anyone here done that at their home?

    Have a blessed day!

    Sisters,

prayers for all friends and family members going through medical stuff.

I am sorry to say I will not be able to meet up this weekend after all--the sunday schedule does not work, saturday would, but that does not appear to be good for all.  Bummer!  Anyway, I do get down to see my grandson often, so I am looking forward to rescheduling soon.xo
