    Sit with me, Jesus
    and calm me down.
    Steady my nerves,
    remove my frown
    Talk with me, Jesus
    take away fear
    Speak words of hope
    comfort and cheer
    Walk with me, Jesus
    give me your hand
    Stay by my side
    my own true friend
    Thanks to you, Jesus
    I face this day
    strong in my faith
    living your Way. Amen

Amen! As I read through the past 24 hours of postings. Girls... you have my heart and my prayers in Jesus name! I  hurt you you when I read... I praise God too, for you, when I read.

    LovemyFam..... you said:

Because she loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue her,I will protect her, for she acknowledges my name.  She will call upon Me and I will answer her, I will be with her in trouble, I will deliver her and honor her.  Taken loosely from Psalm 91.  He is with us always!!

Oh yes... I carried this verse with me through it all... giving to me by a woman here named Beverly. It is actually used with the words.. " he" .. but like you said..... Loosely...... with the word...." she"........ I did the SAME thing... because A good Christain woman name Beverly here on BCO... showed me the term was actually... Male/female..... all of us. I was so glad to see you post it here... I always need to read this verse and remind myself too. TY !

Ladies. I will not be around until Monday. I will be hosting two parties here this weekend. Superbowl.. ( duh)... and then my hubby is playing out ( band) Saturday.... so I will pray for you all and see you Monday !

    Love !!!! Laura

    Hi ALl,

Beautiful prayers - even when praying the next morning.  I still can't make it till 10 PM, sorry!  Last night fell asleep at 9.  Had every intention to join you.

I looked up St. Agatha's story because I didn't know it.  Wow!  What an awful way to die...so my small troubles are nothing to deal with.

I have to go for a Muga scan (heart check due to Avastin), and pre-colonoscopy labs this week.  BC has made me a professional patient.  I thank God every day for my good health insurance benefit plan.  My heart is heavy that not all my sisters have the same comfort.  I don't care what criticisms there are of the new health care plan - truly something has to assist our sisters and brothers dealing with chronic and acute health care issues.  I'd like to pray this coming week that our political leaders are inspired to find ways to share some of our great national bounty with the sick and poor and uninsured.

    Love you all!

    Pat

    Sisters,

Prayers were so beautiful last night, as Pat said, I was crying when I read them this morning (yes I fell asleep last night after final "move" :)

    Pat,

I want to second your support for health insurance for all. I know I shared a bit with Michelle in PM,(and here a bit,) but I work almost exclusively with clients who have no insurance, who cannot afford insurance, homeless clients, Department of Corrections, and immigrants seeking citizenship. Many clients are people who have fallen through the cracks, have had troubled childhoods and now are battling their own substance abuse issues and or mental health issues. They are a wonderful inspirational group to work with, I am inspired each day. Now so many of my clients have DC medicaid, which is enabling them to seek and participate in preventative care for themselves and their families. Now we can work towards health maintenance instead of "crisis management," and it really is very cost saving for our system in the end. Any person that I can help to get treatment for their HIV/AIDS and keep them from becoming ill with a disease that can and should be considered chronic means great financial savings for our already burdened health care system. I am much more invested in each person, working with stigma and helping people past their shame, providing education, and working with a team of providers as it takes a village.

The money line is what we all know speaks in government and policy. One avoided hospital stay, can equal 50,000.00 plus. So it has been a wonderful year for many of my clients, who have been able to go on and find work, raise their families, and get screened for mammos, PAP smears, diabetes, you name it. So I will get down carefully from my soap box again, but I did want to share a little more about what I do, and how I am fulfilled each day and inspired. I just wanted to give a shout out to you Pat and share a little bit of how I see the benefits for all. I think we all have a pretty good idea of the unbelievable costs of health care on the individual, how so many have lost it all and their only "crime" was to have an illness. Prevention is the key, and I think we can go a long way to changing how our dollars are spent.

Thanks for listening, and I am wondering how we can celebrate the feast of St. Agatha together today?

and again, last nights prayers were beyond beautiful, and I was very touched by their depth.

I will take some time out to pray for each one of your petitions, and I pray for the removal of financial stress and anxiety, depression and PTSD for ALL of my Sisters.

    Love to All,

    Traci

    Theresa

I love the Surrender Prayer, I have printed that one and sent it on to several that need it (including me) It seems if we could live that prayer we would be well on our way to Peace.

Traci - I am inspired my your profession and May God Bless the work that you do!

    Michelle,

I lost my postfrom yesterday, but learning about your mission has been very inspirational to me. God Bless the work you do, and your shared vision.

    Theresa,

Yes, your Surrender Prayer is one that I will write out and say.  I was very affected by it, with tears streaming down my face. It touches us on all levels of our spirit, our humanity and our personalities. Thank you so much for posting it.

and that goes for everyone's prayers and contributions. I feel like we are all growing together in Spirit (at least I am, for I lagged quite behind for many years.... :) So I thank you all.

    Laura,

I know you are probably busy preparing for Super Bowl Sunday, and you are most likely not alone. Have fun everyone, and enjoy your day.

Love and Blessings to you all.

    TRACI...

I feel to that spiritual growth. I always believed and had faith, but going through all that we go through on this journey, it has deepened my faith and brought me closer to God. I am realizing that He is in charge and He is also always there for us and never leaves us. People may come and go in our lives but He is the one thing that is constant and never closes a door without opening a window... If it took me going on this journey to realize that so be it, I pray to continue to grow in Faith and hope with all of you!!!

    God Bless you all

Enjoy superbowl, not a sports fan, but do like all the superbowl food lol :)

Thank you sisters, but I was just surfing on the net for healing prayers and came across that website.  I found the prayer very powerful too.  There are other prayers on that site for healing and an emotional healing exercise.

Yes, I too feel that we're going in our spirituality and faith here and I appreciate you all being on the journey with me!!

I was talking to Skip this morning about starting a grass roots spiritual support group at our church for cancer patients and anyone else with a chronic medical condition... maybe meet once a month for prayer and support.  Of course, I'm "brave" on the weekends but once I get back in the stressful work week cycle, I'll lose momentum.  Skip suggested I write to my Rad Onc in Philly to see how she runs her church prayer group.  I told the Lord it would have to be Him doing it b/c I'm no where near smart enough or brave enough to do public speaking or leadership.  I'm just a shrinking violet.  So I'm prayerfully discerning it.

Today is my birthday!  I'm 51.  And it's almost a year since my first bc surgery (diagnosis was Christmas).  God gave me another year!  I've been kind of sick to my stomach this weekend.... we went to a wings restaurant for our birthdays (my son's birthday is today also and my daughter's birthday was last weekend) and I was miserable all last night.  So I'm taking it easy on the belly.  It's like I have peaks and valleys with my health anymore and seem to be in a valley since I got bronchitis.  I seem to be catching everything!!

Gotta go watch "Emma" with Becky.  It's our alternative programming for the Super Bowl.  I'm sure Skip will watch parts of the game.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THERESA!!! And many more to come :)

Thanks for the Healing prayer, I like it a lot too and printed it out to be posted on my wall next to my desk.  The words are so fitting to our needs right now.  Good luck with your short sale.  The banks takes too long and a lot of times, the buyers walk because it took too long or the fact that they have scattered their net and one of the other homes they bid on becomes approved first.  You have to make sure your listing agent is following up at least weekly.  If you have any questions on short sales, feel free to PM me and I'd be glad to give you some tips on it.  Have you heard about the HAFA program?

Happy Birthday to your son too!  It was my late father's birthday yesterday.

    God Bless,

    Paula

    Happy BIrthday Theresa!!

Prayers for you and yours today, I will dedicate my intentions for you this evening. I pray your health improves as you recover into your 2nd year of recovery. I felt horrible for 2 years after chemo, but I did have an entire year of it. I had low WBC's for 2 years as well. The last two blood draws have been  improved and I think it is a combination of time and I take a lot of supplements now. One supplement I added as a recommendation from a naturapath that works with my MD's was Cordyceps which is an immune enhancer. I do feel a lot better and I continue to improve.

My theory is the "held" anxiety hurts us physically as well and we can only handle so much energy expended on holding the anxiety so there is not enough energy left to have good health and in addition it wears us down and makes us tired.

    God Bless you Theresa!

Happy 51 Theresa!!   Just think what you can accomplish in the next 51 !!  :):)

I liked Surrender and also Starella's - esp the part about Jesus 'stay by my side true friend.'  Other friends may come & go or disappoint us in our lives - Jesus is our true friend.  I'll have to look up Fr. Joyce.

    God bless all.

Thank you all, wow, I'm humbled, to quote Traci.  Really.  You've been great friends. :-)

Cordyceps - I've never heard of it Michelle but I'll look into it.  I have my check up with my onc on Thursday and am starting a list of questions.  But you had a year of chemo??  You poor thing!  No wonder it took you so long to recover.  I had 6 weeks and was a ninny baby about it.  Thank you for your prayers.

    You women really amaze me.

My tummy is getting better.  I have to be kind to it.... physically and emotionally.  Grandson #1 is sick again with cold/cough.  It seems as soon as one of us gets over one virus, another one gets another virus.  I have to disinfect my netbook.... he was playing on it yesterday and sneezing. (Ewwww)  Poor kid.  I wish spring would get here so we can open up the house.

I was listening to Grandson #2 singing yesterday.  He sings when he doesn't think anyone is paying attention.  He's four and has the sweetest soprano voice.  I told my daughter that she should encourage his singing... maybe join a choir when he gets old enough.  He and Papa (Skip) can sing together!

Paula - yes I'll PM you about short sales.  I'll take all the advice I can get.

Ellie - are you still coming to VA?  Are we all still planning to meet, despite viruses and snow and ice and the winter blues?

Yes the serentity prayer was wonderful and I am planning on printing it out and keeping it at my desk at work.  Theresa, I am still planning on visiting my precious grandson this weekend, how does a sunday early afternoon meet up sound?  Would love to meet you guys!!  Below is a quote from our dear Blessed Mother.

My child, pray your rosary while you walk. When you meet an orphan, treat him as your own child, give comfort to the troubled and care for the sick. Never refuse any who ask for your help. If your pockets are empty, give them hope. Your every action must be born of kindness, your every word spoken with love..." Our Lady of Kibeho

All my love to my bc sisters!! xo

    Thanks geewhiz!

Paula - I wish you were closer too ... all of you!  I'd still love for all of us to meet somewhere when the weather gets warmer.

I'm waiting on Miss Ellie to let me know where she'll be located and try to get something central.  Obviously not central to me, otherwise we'd be meeting in Leesburg! :-)

I will also try my best!  Having a little family valentine dinner on Sunday.

I've been reading Anticancer: A New Way of Life.  It's the kind of book you can skip around from diet recommendations to exercise, etc.  There's one chapter on the mind/body connection and how important it is to manage fear and feelings of helplessness & keep a positive outlook -- he gives numerous suggestions and one way is SAYING THE ROSARY!!!   There are actually studies on the physical/mental benefits of saying the rosary!  I'll be back later and type in what it says.
