We could also use the same intentions and do the novena to Our Lady of Fatima after the st Theresa novena.  I googled the National Shrine and it's in Lewiston, new york. We could start on her Feast day, Just a thought.

Sandy - did you already give us your Mother's name?  I should have saved them like Sheila said, but I forgot. :-(  Let's pray for her tonight on this her anniversary on going home! (and the others who passed this week) I'm not sure if you're at this place yet, but can you see it as a joyful thing?  Imagine her soul was contained in the womb of earth and like a mother's womb, she could hear faint sounds of her mother and father and brothers and sisters (hope)... when she "died" on earth, it was a birth, but this time to her final and true home, and those faint sounds became reality and she came face to face with her Maker and is happier beyond any happiness she experienced on earth (hope fulfilled).

Traci - I'm glad you're with us real time! :-)  I'm at work and take sanity breaks here.  Until my email chimes or the phone rings or my paperwork beckons.  Are you leading us off in prayer tonight?

Sheila - you're the novena queen!  I agree with you 100% about waiting until after Easter.  This is such a special time that needs our undivided attention.  Yes, we can certainly do two ... start St. Therese on 4/28 and end on 5/6, take a breather, then start Our Lady of Fatima on 5/13.  I think that's right...?

Sandy, I am so sorry about your mom.  You must miss her so much.  I bet she was a wonderful woman--if you feel up to it, would you share a story about her? xo

    Sweet Sisters,

Thank you so very much for understanding about my Mother! Yes, Theresa, I am at the place where I know my Mother is truly happy and totally healed in her eternal home. I know she was greeted by my Father, her parents, and all those who have gone there before. Your words are so comforting! I can't express how much I am comforted by reading the. It is really amazing how so many of you wonderful ladies always find the right words at just the right time. Thank you! My Mother's name was Violet Roaden.

You are correct Traci! I would never have had the courage I needed had it not been for my Mom!

I didn't know we were having prayers tonight so I am glad I checked back in! What time? I assume 10:00 Eastern? We are going to the service at Cathedral tonight and it starts at 7:00 Central time so we should be back by about 8:45 depending on how large the crowd is...

    Namaste

Oh Theresa--I'll be frank leading the prayers would just cause my amygdala to go into overdrive. Which is my basic problem now. When I say my intention for the healing of the mind, it is a so serious concern. That is why i am so appreciative of all of you that can lead in prayer. Odd I used to do about 150 hrs of lecturing a year and now even paying a bill sends my whole system into aplace I have never been.

So, if this shall be our prayer it will simple. God, Mother Mary, Christ during this holiest of times. Help us comprehend all that Christ as the SON of God suffered and did for us this week. The meaning of His resurrection. How through out history man has used religion as a source to commit atrocities against each other.  That was not your intention in any of your teachings. Nor was the intention of any other religious leader. Man somehow has never fully comprehended your words or used them in a way that makes tears come from Your Mothers eyes with each of her appearances. With a warning that we better get ourselves straight because God Is not pleased.  We pray for enlightenment for those everywhere, to stop hating, stop fighting, lay down arms , and stop bombing. Stop the Hurting.

For our families and ourselves----keep hope alive in us- Hope is the cornerstone of being able to get out of bed each day. We request and implore healings, but we don't know the plan. So, we pray that we can accept the plan with grace and FAITH.

At this time, we have asked a special blessing for our moms. You can tell here that, we all had special relationships with our moms. But on other threads I have read some awful things regarding other moms. Please let those people that didn't or continue to not have the concern of their mothers, let them find peace from those thoughts and be able to find forgiveness within their being.

Bless us all that are here and all that have recently departed, but were once part of us , especially Jeannine and Audrey.

May we accept your sacrifice Dear Christ and live by your words.

Namaste, I SALUTE THE GOD WITHIN YOU

Sandy - I often think what Queen Elizabeth said during WWII after the bombing of London to comfort her citizens -- "Grief is the price we pay for love."  To have known a mother's love is a blessing & am sure that your mother is close to you even now.

Theresa - another one of those 'coincidences.'  I was just thinking last night that death is really a birth -- into another life.  And a little while ago on TV they interviewed a Buddhist monk in Japan who was comforting people who have lost loved ones in the earthquake -- and that they would be re-joined with them after death.  Then I signed on and saw your post!!!  I do think it's a universal & mystical continuum that we can't fully understand.  The Bible says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you"(Jer 1:5)  Native Americans believed the wind knew the names of babies before they were born.  We are returning from where we began in a way.  Going home.  The difficult part is leaving the ones we love even temporarily.

I will add an intention later on.

Paula - are you home yet?

    Janet,

Thank you so much for the quote! I had read it many years ago but had totally forgotten about it until you reminded me. I just love it! I did know tremendous love from my Mother and Father and God blessed me greatly by letting me be born their daughter. I have been so very blessed time and time again and it helps to "count your blessings" frequently!

Theresa- what you said about the novena queen. Again I will restate what I said a couple pages ago. The novena allows us focus of all our thoughts for a few moments in time. When we state our Intentions it does the same. AND then we are all doing it together. I NEVER learned this importance as a young one. That's why I believe we should continue with novenas with a few day break in between. Maybe we can consider doing each persons here Patron saint over time. And the other beauty of our novenas is right before we start them Theresa is you give us a little teaching on the importance of whomever the novena has been too.  The circle thus is complete.

    Namaste sheila

Sisters forgive my blunder!!!!!  I thought today was Friday and was pestering about prayers tonight.  Prayers are tomorrow night.  Can you say Chemo Brain?

Sheila - you have a beautiful mind.  That was a lovely prayer.  I especially like "So, we pray that we can accept the plan with grace and FAITH."  We can use that prayer today and tomorrow night. :-)

The intention page -- yes -- yes!

Janet - as you know, there are no coincidences! :-)  I had forgotten about that quote from Queen Elizabeth.

Let me post this quickly so you guys don't get more confused by me.  That's what I get for posting while at work! :-)

Phew!  I'm glad I caught you in time.

Ok... I think I have the intention page figured out, as Sheila said, whenever someone goes to a holy place they can print it out and take it with them b/c it includes not only our intentions, but many others as well.  I'm keeping track of the intentions posted here, so if you don't/can't post to the intention page by the start of the novena next Thursday, I'll post the rest of them then.  Does that make sense?  Let me know if I'm still out in left field watching the clouds go by.

I also like Sheila's idea of having novena's for our patron saints, so after Our Lady of Fatima, we can do one for someone's saint!  We are so blessed to be able to pray together in this way.

Now, it's bedtime.  May peaceful rest come to all of us tonight. .... Yes, I was wondering about Paula too today.

Come, Lord, to our dwelling, and drive the snares of the enemy far away from it. Let your holy angels dwell in it and keep us in peace; and may your blessing be with us always.
    Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. Amen

In this you rejoice, although now for a little while
you may have to suffer through various trials,
so that the genuineness of your faith,
more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire,
may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor
at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Pt 3

I don't think I will be around until later in the day on Easter.  We are going down the shore to my brother's house for the weekend!!  Looking forward to getting away and hoping to be able to take some nice relaxing walks along the beach.  Weather forecast is not great however.  I am going to services today and will remember everyone's intentions there.  Also planning on saying the Rosary sometime between 12 and 3.  Have a Happy, Blessed Easter everyone.  Namaste Kay

    Good Morning Sweet Sisters,

Another Good Friday has come to us. I always consider this a gift for it gives us great pause to really consider what Jesus did just for us in order that we might be forgiven our sins and have eternal life.

I am tired today for the service was long last night. I will try to do the Stations anyway for if Christ could carry his cross such a distance, surely I can do this little thing in rememberance of what he did for me. I look forward to the service tonight. Year after year, it continues to touch my heart in a different way each year.

Kay, Have a wonderful and peaceful time at the shore! Time for a much needed break and I hope you are able to get some rest and good family time while there!

    Hugs to Everyone,

    Sandy

Thanks Sheila... we'll meet at 10:00 as usual.  Tonight! :-)

    Traci - what's a virtual keyboard?

Kay - where at the shore?  We were living in Absecon.  I hope you have great weather!  It can be iffy this time of year.

    Gina - nice scripture reflection.

Sandy - I bet you *are* tired today!

I was kind of let down at Stations of the Cross today.. maybe that's a good thing b/c I tend to get weepy.  Father went through them so fast.  There was a toddler who didn't understand and was squealy; the parents didn't take him out, but halfway through Stations, one of their older kids took him out.  Then I was finishing up my rosary at the front of the church and they decided to bring in the Easter flowers for the alter at that time.  Mayhem!  I told Skip, let's go, I'll finish my rosary later. :-(  Maybe I'll go to the Monastery tomorrow and just sit.

I'm back in business! Theresa, the virtual keyboard is a tool you should have. When you click on it, it brings up a keyboard and you use your mouse to type letter by letter. I managed to find out that you can access all of the special symbols too. So the past two days, I have been typing away at a very slow rate. I bought another keyboard today, so I am now fluid.

    Sheila,

    Will see you soon!
