There will come a time that you will no longer need BCO. It is different for each person. Some need to stay here b/c no one in their life gets what they have experienced.

Others need to stay b/c they have developed friendships, that are beyond dissolution, by leaving.

Others want to stay b/c they love helping others

Why we stay or why we leave, is to each our own, we love when we are here and remember when we our gone

But always , remember you are valued, and your return is received joyously, because you live.

Their is a nurse Karla on the Nurses thread who described that when she was on a trek in the Himalayas. She would observe the Sherpas greeting each other with hands as folded in prayer. Their greeting was Namaste. She asked for a translation. They told her it meant "I SALUTE THE GOD WITHIN YOU" After hearing that story, it so gripped  me, within the deep soul of me. The strength of the statement in analysis goes to the heart of our belief in God. For if we believe that this statement regarding God-- being within each person. Then he is a part of our being. If that be true, then we are each joined together with him, and therefore we are each apart of each other. So, what happens to the one, happens to all. Yes Paula, thank you for reminding me. A periodic telling of the story helps my forgetful mind. Namaste Sheila

Written on Catholic Match, com several days ago:

This is something I wrote on Breastcancer.org along time ago. I have shared the full response with one other here. When I told my parish priest the story he said " Wish we'd of thought of it first". I often sign off with Namaste. But a word undefined carries no meaning. I've thought , that as this Holy season comes closer to His birth, that a sharing of something ,so, special to me that when said, I am recognizing the God within you that joins us. My Hope that some will embrace it. By embracing it, you feel, what I feel when I use it. That we are joined by His love and care for us. Namaste sheila

The last paragraph was written on Catholic Match.com. OH my word did it create a controversy. Even just getting on there board. They have a mega dogmatic controller that did everything to keep it off the board b/c he felt it was pagan. The God within me sent another person who has the God within him , but has doctrinal and historical knowledge. What a debate, I wish all could be shared with you. What Patrick pointed out that no one could refute is I shared this with my pastor, with pastoral approval , he sited that it would have to be refuted up the channel etc. Then Patrick was able to quote new and old testament. If you could see all his words. I have shared my insight with you , but Patrick took it to a whole higher level. Quoting old and new Testament. AND sighting that English is the only worlds evolving parasitic language. That we take from all languages---sited three dictionaries. I think the discussion may be closed b/c regretfully the 3 &4 th posts were by the guy that is considered moderator. He is at the extreme right end of Catholicism. He makes everyone self monitor what they write for fear of his disapproval. Of course I've been warned. But here 43 respones within hours . But I had been warned by many be careful what you say b/c of Jerry. Well you all know how I feel about Namaste. May be I am off base. But the thought------I SALUTE THE GOD WITHIN YOU ----IS NOT. Some their believed I meant their was a different God within each of us . How that can be drawn from my words. Unknown. God created us all. Christ was given to us by him, Christ through out of the temple those that did not carry God within them, What did Christ do with all others who he looked into their being? And what did those do that looked and received Christ do? So, there are others that don't believe as we do? Did they ever have a chance to know Christ without fear and horror. Or no knowledge b/c thay have know contact. Will God condemn them? My God is a merciful God. Christ was sent here to take care of us that our known. My God would never condemn a population unknown. While there are few left in the world. No My god would never condemn them.

On Catholicmatch.com what I have just written would not be allowed. Ecumenicism would not be allowed.

Makes you appreciate our Mods. Bless them.

    Hello ladies

First may I ask you to say a prayer for the husband, 19yr old daughter and 17 yr old son of Maria who after years of fighting Breast Cancer was laid to rest on Wednesday. Also may I ask you to say a prayer for the happy repose of her soul. What a sad time of year to lose a wife and mother May she rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace Amen.

She had the most phenominal soprano voice and her rendition of "Oh Holy Night" was as good as any opera star I have heard sing it (and I have heard some opera singers in my time.) Whilst she was not in our church choir she was brought in to be the soloist at 10 00pm mass on Christmas eve.

We will be having a quiet Christmas. Number 2 princess is at home at present. You might remember I told you that number 1 princess spends a lot of time flying around mainland Europe on company business - in the company jet. Well she is coming home on Christmas eve being dropped off at the Belfast city airport by the company jet ! ! ! So God willing we will be together at Christmas.

If I am not on line again before Christmas day I wish you all

     Nollaig Shona agus Beannachtaí

Praise be to God, His Son is coming, allelulia!

Gina - you are in my prayer intentions for good results.

Remember we prayed for Heather, my daughter's friend who was suspected as having cancer?  I prayed for her during our last novena.  Her tests all came back benign, praise God!  They're going to remove all of the cysts probably in January but she does not have cancer.  They took her off all birth control for good.  They also discovered that she's pre-diabetic, so she and her husband are going on a diabetic diet.  So, yes, God does answer prayers - though sometimes He answers them in His own way and we might not like the answer.  I'm still awaiting news of my niece's lymph node biopsy.  All these young women!  Too much chemical messing with women's hormones.

Happy Christmas and Blessings to you too Frank!

Traci - good to see you!!

Sheila - you are inspirational as usual!

Welcome to the newbies and lurkers.  You are all welcome at your own pace! :-)

I hope to log in again before Christmas.  I pray if any of you are traveling, be careful and may the angels watch over you.

    Pax.

A blessed Christmas to all here.  May God continue to walk with you through your lives.  May He look upon you with favor, keep you strong in spirit, mind and body.  May God grant our physicians and researchers the wisdom to make many advances in cancer research during 2012 that will improve and extend the lives of all those afflicted with cancer.

Thank you my friends for your support for me during this year as I face my mother's advanced breast cancer.  Please continue to pray for her and for me during 2012 and I will do likewise for you.

    Blessings, blessings friends. Mary

Jesus, here in this place we come together in Your name, called by the goodness of Your life and the outpouring of Your blood for us in Your death. Although we truly are many parts, in the Communion of our faith, we come together as one Body to sing your praise this blessed weekend, the day of Your birth.  Obediently we say we are here Lord, to do Your will, to follow Your commands.  Thank you for Your birth, for the reminder every day that we are part of the great kingdom of God, that we are Your children, sheltered under Your wing, and loved as only the Father can love. Bring us the peace that only You can give, as only You can give.

Theresa------thank you for your earlier comment----I am always blessed when you make a comment like that b/c you are so schooled in the church and I am not. I didn't want to raise it at Christmas , but it has created such a controversy on Catholicmatch.com about Namaste. The discussion has gone to 141 posts pro/ con. It's been very interesting. I have learned allot. I wish you could read all the posts as you are my resource for all liturgical(is that the right word?). I trust you. I trust Patrick who has become my defender on that thread. I have only made besides the first post, perhaps 7-9 posts, that may even be stretching it. I just let people talk. It ranged from pagan, to hindu( which the Sherpas were), to absolutely against the Catholic Faith.

You almost always sign off with the latin Pax et bonum------I know Pax means peace and et means "and" Bonum I think means good(?)......, But I have decided to add Pax to Namaste. Much of the discussion was that we as Catholics had words of our own that we could use. But many sited we weren't using them and that we weren't living them--------It's been a wild ride. There has been citations of Catholics from other cultures using Namaste. Particularly, from eastern cultures.  Without you being able to read the whole thing , it makes it difficult for you to advise. Bummer. I so wish you could read the whole thing . I trust your advice so much.

Sandy 105------How is your nephew , we could do a novena for him, So, happy to see you back on the board

Sagina--------each time you have written that you flipped open the bible--------the words that come to you to meet the situation at hand-----are always amazing

Squid------so glad you posted, whatever is keeping you from us, I understand and we understand. A time , a place, a season etc. We love you and are in our thoughts

Tink----clapping all the time-----remember from Peter Pan------if we clapped for Tink when she was fading? Hope the kids are doing well Smile

Kay-----still hoping you'll make it here in the spring. Making headway on brain surgery schedule---duh that's almost a pun-------------

Paula------sweetie you need to become our heart again, don't go off to another site. we need to grow again

LMFSM------Namaste and Pax----------words that could heal the world. I truly believe this.  I wish I had the name of the Liberian woman at ready , that has changed so much in the world. Her name must become part of our words as JFK . She's received the Nobel Prize

     Frank

Nollaig Shona agus Beannachtaí . So sad about your friend , but she will be remembered. What you are lucky about where you are is that so many live in the place of their beginning. So, people know them. Here not so, because of jobs or whatever  families are splintered. It's nice that the corporate jet is dropping off your daughter. Sounds  magical.

Michello-------thank you for coming here and being a permanent part of all here

mm5----Michelle------think off you often -----hope troubles are ceasing. We miss you.

Laura--------hope all is well, LE sucks, arm or breast-----makes no matter, we each know that it 's a bummer to our lives. Hope your son is well. Thank you for starting this thread and thank you for inviting me in my time of need. It changed my life -----hugs sweetie

Who could I have missed? Janet in virgina ---isn't posting anymore------God bless her she's moved on, Pagowens the same,

May be it's prideful in the talk of humility, but if you have ever noticed I always sign off with sheila versus Sheila. After saying Namaste -----I am so humbled by it's meaning that to capitalize my name would go against it's meaning somehow. I love  you all and hope that we all come together and take care of each other .

I believe our novena's have great strength. But I think we need to keep them a couple to three weeks apart so we don't lose our fervor. But when we need to do a one day novena, I do volunteer to make the notifications of all that have been here. We did it for Jennifer and it was within 24 hrs of her passing. How great is that. We stormed Heaven for her. Let it be so for all of us. Then Racy took our List to Australia and I don't want to get her name wrong, but my mind can't remember, I feel awful b/c with that novena I prayed to be able to take a break and not feel guilty. It was granted. BUMMER may be Racy will read this and repost her name for me. Then perhaps Racy will stay.

    Namaste and Pax sheila

    And on bended knee,

I believe in the goodness of Man,

Made in the likeness of our Almighty Father,

May we accept what He has given us,

May we believe that He holds use in His cloak,

May we not wander from His sight,

May we be guided by His word.

May the joy of knowing Him always be in our hearts,

May we, by the living of our lives, draw others to His side,

When we die may each of us be brought home to Him

    Happy New Year everyone!

Sheila - yes, Pax = Peace, et Bonum = and good - it is a Franciscan greating (peace and all good).  There is good in everything, even the bad.  It's hard to believe when the bad is happening and all around us.  But God works miracles through the bad.

I have had strep again, so I've been out.  I missed a lot of work, which is not good, but the antibiotics always are worse than the disease.  Will go back to work Tuesday come hell or high water! :-)

I have mixed feelings about 2012, the new year.  I felt like Skip and I came out of a cocoon in 2011 and thank God for all of our blessings and that I am cancer free. This time of year brings back memories of 2 years ago when I was going through the cancer hell.  Cancer is like an old haunt.  You go on with life and try to forget, but it never leaves you completely alone anymore.  I am not 100% better and probably never will be.  I'd like my leg and feet pain to go away.

Ok, enough whining!  You can tell I'm sick, eh? LOL!

    Laura, happy anniversary!  God's blessings.

Kay, I'm so sorry about your lymphedema.  Another haunt for we cancer patients.

So, next Monday, Jan 9th, my DIL will go for her first sonogram and we hope to find out if she's carrying a boy or girl!  No more morning sickness.  She says she feels great!  I pray God will continue to bless her pregnancy.  My son changed his surname to my maiden name because 1) he does not care for his birth father and 2) my brother died without having any children, so my son would like to carry on my maiden name if he has a boy. I'm just excited about having a new baby around!  I'm sure this will not be their only child, God willing.

From Evening Prayer on this Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God

God, our Father, since you gave mankind a savior through blessed Mary, virgin and mother, grant that we may feel the power of her intercession  when she pleads for us with Jesus Christ, your Son, the author of life, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm; and may he lead us to eternal life.
    AMEN

Happy New Year to All !

Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.  Say to those who are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God...He will come and save you." - Isiah 35: 3-4

Still praying for everyone here :)

Sheila - sweet lady, I haven't gone to other sites, I just didn't have time to sign on ;)

    God Bless!
