Sagina words define us in everything. Said one day have no real impact. Then they change our lives ---forever

mnmom and Theresa------That 30 y/o in NZ, if I could I have her license or send her to a retraining camp like the old MAO ones(facetious). She no more belongs in nursing than an amoeba. The face of nursing is changing, it does not bode well for the future. Too many are going into it b/c of job availibility and money.  Not all of course, that would be way to much of  a generalization. But if we look at 20 years down the line. Compare it to 20-40-60-100 years ago.

Theresa your priest was so right.  In a time that we didn't know for weeks. Now they have on film and have had for years--- the exact moment of fertizlization.  The Little guy that won. Yeah. That amazing moment of fertilization causes the ovum to lock out all other sperm. If you have never seen the film on it I'm sure google would find it easily enough. Then Cleavage begins---it's geometric and just as you say Theresa , at each point of cell division all the genetic material that we all become as beings, is present in each cell. That's humbling in it's magnicicence

My Mom is turning 79 next month and has been a huge source of support and strength throughout all of my treatments.

I have now officially completed my treatments. Had my last radiation yesterday. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get on with the rest of my life. I have to admit, I'm finding it all a little scary! I will continue to put my trust in God but it's hard not to worry!

Has anyone "seen" Laura (Estepp)?  I know she went on vacation but that was a while ago.  I PM'd her several weeks back and it's unlike her not to respond.

Hello everyone.  My friend does have brain cancer.  I'm not sure if it's BC mets or new cancer.  She already had brain surgery, removal of tumor, and another small is in there.  She sees a MO monday for next course of treatment.

So this is how quickly God works, she had the seizure last Friday, today she is home resting and healing from brain surgery.

My friend is going to have gamma knife radiation on what's left of the tumor and two full body mri's from this point forward each year.

She is in good spirits, and her faith in God, unwavering. She is so beautiful.

Michelle - I'm so happy for you!  Yes, put your trust in God.

Gina - I'm sorry about your friend but happy that they caught it.

Been dealing with sick family members (viruses, strep again) and I caught a bug too.  Just need to rest up.

Theresa , learned something today that Z-pack should not be used on us from the neck up,  but already forgot who told me that------may be voracious reader on Bonfires of the Goddesses.

Theresa ask for your grandchildren to be tested for strep. ALONG time ago when I still lived in Akron a peds doc did a study on 3-4th graders. He showed that they carried asymptomatic strep. It not only made the Peds journal , it got to Time magazine. Significance, if a journal article makes it to main stream magazines. , it's big time news if anyone pays attention b/c it so to speak crossed a barrier. Science to mainstream.Your dear ones, could be carriers, and you in a reduced immune state could be, being reinfected by them.  Yes .you are beyond a year, but no one to my knowledge has studied are immune status. We accept that it is changed i.e immune status is altered after all the drugs.. But if research would have been done.,to the level, I describe below. "how would that have made the cancer patients or the recovering cancer patients life be  different.

Fiddlesticks-------means nothing. Not been evaluated, or studied, or fixed. They tell us to do this and that. quacerkersnacks.     Our immune status is altered. I am now really angered, b/c I realize that more was put into the research for the altered immune status  of HIV/AIDS than cancer. The whole world benefited from the research expended on HIV/AIDS. We benefited, no question. HIV/AIDS uncontrolled could have caused the life of homo-sapiens to cease. That's why so much money and resources went into it . The fall out was the management of other diseases.---------------so why aren't we fixed---------growl---

Sheila - I feel your anger!  It doesn't seem fair.  I was just thinking about my immunity while doing all the "nursing" of sick husband and sick family members.  I'm ALWAYS sick... which means I rarely have enough paid time off to take for vacationing!  I wasn't the strongest person before cancer, but am always getting sick now.  I'm back to work today, but with Tylenol and Zantac in me and Imodium close at hand.  Boy, I wish I could retire!

Why did you say Z-pack should not be used on us from the neck up?  When I had strep last month, my doc gave me Z-pack.  Youngest grandson and daughter were tested positive for strep, oldest grandson was tested but was negative.  He still got the Norvo Virus.  Youngest grandson had strep, ear infection and Norvo virus, which caused the dehydration and hospitialization.  He's back to "normal" and in school now.  Daughter has strep and Norvo Virus. I was tested for strep and it was negative.  She said if my throat got worse, etc, to call her back.  Apparently there are a lot of false negatives.

Mary, Mother of Grace, Mother of Mercy, shield me from the enemy and receive me at the hour of my death. Amen

Hello ladies...I am sorry I have been missing for awhile. I think and pray for you each day. It has been crazy here. My DD has been very sick. She is in her third relapse of mono and has thyroiditis. She has had only a few full school days since the n year has started. It has been quite stressful with having her due half days and also helping her keep up with her school work. We are in the process of having her records copied for us and taking her to a specialists that we are praying will help us figure out what is going ln. She has been on antibiotics twice in the, as month because her resistance is so low right now. Please keep her in your prayers .

You all will remain in mine

    Namaste

Tink . drug interactions can lead to many problems. Send me a PM and I'll use my drug interaction checker---it's the one that I found that identified why all my problems occurred.  Anyone interested , it's GENELEX. iT HAS 30 DAY FREE TRIAL. please use the "how to use video ", I didn't -------guess what a way lot easier to use and understand. I didn't view it till, I did all this study by hand LOL. If all else fails ---read the directions.

Also go to the pharmacy and get package inserts for any of Ali's drugs. Take them with you to specialist visit. Doc's know allot , but not everything.

All our AI's and tamoxifen reduce our immunity. I found a MAJOR drug interaction between my Norvasc/amildopine(antihypertensive) and ctoxan/taxotere  and all the AI's, But it was 9 months after I was considered a "chemo failure".  AND choose to quit arimidex b/c of all the s.e's , and same with Femara. Almost quit  Aromasin for the same reason.

On the Zpack-----I'll have to get back to you already forgot why VR said it.

It's Friday------I know ill forget to be here at ten-----------Blessings for everyone. Lets us all find answers to our problems and have them resolved. Namaste and Pax L&H's sheila

Ladies, today 5 February is the feast of St Agatha, the patron saint of breast cancer. Here is the prayer from the special feast day mass that I attended at St Agatha's church in Brisbane, Australia:

Merciful God, we bring before You all who are touched by breast cancer in any way. Assisted by the prayers of St Agatha, patroness of breast diseases, give them courage to live with and after their disease. Help them to face and overcome their fears. Be with them when they are alone or rejected. Comfort them and their families when they are discouraged. And touch them all with Your healing spirit that they may find and possess eternal life, now and forever. Amen.

I joined this forum today Feb 5 in honor of St Agatha. I carry her prayer card with me to my appointments and wear a medal with her around me neck. I was diagnosed one month ago today and had a lumpectomy on 1/20/12 and am currently in radiation with the SAVI implant this coming week. I feel blessed to be going through breast cancer treatment on her feast day - she was a courageous woman!

Sas, I thought of that but I only got the prayer on the day. It is a beautiful prayer. I'm glad I found St Agatha.

As it happens, I was baptised as a baby in that same church.

God be merciful to us all.

Hello everyone. May I please ask for your prayers for our babysitter, Gloria. She is the most wonderful person who has been caring for my children for the last 11 years since my older daughter was 8 months old. She has been battling COPD for the last year. Things have deteriorated over the last few weeks and she was hospitalized on Thursday. Her daughter called me tonight to let me know that they have removed her from life support and are now waiting for the inevitable. This is very sad for my family...she truly has been like a Grandmother to my girls.

Dear Lord, please wrap Gloria in Your loving arms. May her passing be peaceful. Give her family strength in the days ahead.

Praying for everyone, heard a new song by Kari Jobe called Here.  You tube it if you have a chance...I've been looking for retreat songs and I think this one is perfect.  Let me know what you think.

Miss you all, been so busy.  I need to MAKE time for this board.  Being around people without great faith all day is exhausting....I'm so glad I'm in team retreat meetings.  Wish I could that for a living.

    Hello Sisters

Got Herceptin dose #20 last Thursday and as usual all went well. Back into the office on Friday morning. I have to go on the day before treatment (the Wednesday) to give bloods and get a few other things checked. Last Wednesday after giving bloods I had to wait longer than usual. A new doctor has joined my Consultant's team and he wanted to meet me. You will recall that I'm the 1st person in NI who has not had BC but who is receiving Herceptin. He enthused about my progress and how well the Herceptin was working.

Good news about Princess #2 - she graduated a few months ago as a Dietician. Starting a full time post in a hospital in Middleborough which is in NE England. bad news is obviously she has to go live there so I will be missing her teribbly. Middlesborough is not one of the most affluent places In England. i don't know if it's the same on your side of the pond but there have been severe cutbacks here and it's seriously affecting job prospects. So a prayer of Thanksgiving would be in order for princess securing a permanent position. It's always easier to get another job when you have a job ! !

Michell/Tinkertude sorry  to hear of your losses.

Michell how are you coping now that the radiotherapy is over ?

When I am saying my St Pergerine prayer each day I always mention my sisters on this thread and my sisters on the Herceptin thread.

    take care sisters.

    Frank
